    He’s so tired, suddenly, frame aching from it all. And now there’s this- this new Prime standing here and it’s all wrong. Except, he can still see Orion Pax in there, with his righteous demeanor and those blue optics as familiar to him as his own. They’re full of sorrow, his mouth a twist of pain.

    And somehow that’s what makes him turn away, resetting his vocalizer. “It’s too late for that.”

    He’s hollow. He’s so full of this awful, septic anger and he has nowhere to put it.

    “No, it’s not-” Pax reaches out a servo, almost hesitant. He looks like he’s actually listening for once, and there’s a touch of desperation there. Hope. D-16 huffs a small, brittle laugh. Pax always could hope.
