    “Did he touch you?” he asked firmly, turning to face her while his eyes scanned over her to see for himself.

    Taliyah barely realized her hand had risen instantly to her neck, remembering the unpleasant feeling of his breath on her skin but she shook her head anyway. “I-It’s fine,” she stammered, awkwardly shifting on her heels but Elliot only frowned and grabbed her hand to inspect it.

    “Did. He. Touch. You?” He over-expressed each syllable and Taliyah felt her heart rate spike with the air of danger that suddenly emanated from his voice.
