Summary
It isn’t until he catches sight of the inn that the shaking starts, rattling his bones so hard that he hits the ground, folding like a doll.
He catches himself–barely–with his arms, and curls into himself like a wounded thing, rocking back and forth. His chest feels too tight, and sound is coming to him in muffled waves, and suddenly all he can feel is terror at the night around him, at the openness and hidden places both. He clenches his eyes shut against the memory of how it feels to watch an ax swinging towards his head and bites his lip against the scream or wail or plea that wants to rise. On his knees, he rocks himself. It’s a frantic, shaking thing and not a soothing motion, but he can’t quite get himself to stop.
What makes it worse is the knowledge of safety so close, the awareness that within two minutes he could be safely in a room, within four he could be tucked against a wall with a large body between him and the world that feels all too dangerous now.

And to Merlin’s credit, he doesn’t just bend Gwaine’s dad over the nearest surface and go at it with him the minute his son sets foot on the train bound for Edinburgh.
That would be far too simple, too easy to dismiss or write off as temporary madness, scratching a decades-long itch.

Holy shit.
Johnny doesn’t think he’s ever wanted to suck off a man more in his life.
Spider-Man stood above him. Muscles flexed as he held a semi-truck above his head, the cause of Johnny being stuck in this mess in the first place. Not that Johnny’s complaining– no, he’s definitely drinking in the sight above him.
Johnny has always had a thing about getting saved, rarely is he thrust into a scenario where he needs to be at someone's mercy and is forced to depend on them– such as now, where if Johnny flamed on he’d blow up the oil in the tank leveling an entire New York block– but when it happens it makes Johnny instantly weak in the knees, if he weren’t already on the cracked concrete ground best believe he’d sink to his knees willingly anyways.
“Hey, Flamebrain!” Peter pants, arms straining as his legs lock, spandex hiding absolutely nothing from Johnny’s imagination. “I swear if you don’t move I’ll let this thing crush the both of us!”
Right. Johnny still has a job to do.

Summary
After Johnny and Spider-Man have an unplanned encounter on the Bugle's roof, both misunderstand the other's intentions and it creates a rift in their friendship.
Of course Spidey is there to visit his boyfriend Peter Parker...the same man Johnny had planned on asking out.
Johnny brought a beautiful bouquet of roses for none other than Betty Brant, the gorgeous Daily Bugle secretary. Peter feels stupid for hoping that maybe Johnny liked him.
Of course, things can only be mended by potentially getting Johnny placed on the sex offenders list. Oops...
