Summary
After Temperance Brennan and Seeley both had their run-in with the Winchesters they made a decision. Brennan felt the need to learn everything she could about the supernatural world, while Booth was content to ignore it. But now, they are dealing with a case that may have apocalyptic consequences.
Sam and Dean are running on empty. Sam has put his faith and trust in Ruby and believes he is the key to stopping Lilith, while Dean can't help but feel like they're out of their depth and in over the heads. Dean won't talk about hell, but Sam can't deal with the anger and paranoia much longer. The last thing either of them wants to do is get back in the sights of the FBI, but that may be their best hope to stop Lilith.

Summary
Dean Winchester has been back from hell for a little over a month and is growing increasingly suspicious of the angels' intentions. In trying to sort out what their real plan is, he realizes that an FBI agent may need his help--and may help him find his true purpose after resurrection.
It's been six weeks since Seeley Booth witnessed a miracle, or maybe he was duped by a deranged serial killer and let a wanted man walk away. Booth's constant swings between guilt, fear, and religious euphoria are breaking him down. He needs to come to terms with what he did before he loses all sense of reality or, more importantly, before he loses the woman he loves.

When the remains of suspected serial-killer Dean Winchester are found and prove that he did not die 7 months ago in a gas explosion as everyone believed but instead seemed to be mauled to death four months ago, Booth believes this is his chance to get justice for his fellow fallen agents. With some help and inspiration from an angel, Booth believes he is on the righteous path. But he's realizing there are greater mysteries to the world than he imagined, and he knows so little about the will of heaven.
