Summary
Far too sudden, she's being forced onto her back with the cold ground beneath her. Hands holding her down by the shoulders. She groans, blinks, looks up at who the fuck just saved her life but is also kind of manhandling her to the ground. Brown intense eyes, lips set into a frown and oh, she's pretty.
"What on earth were you thinking?" The woman demands, voice sharp, rattling.
Ava adverts her eyes. "I saw a light." She snorts, not helping herself. "That's fucking ironic isn't it? I saw a light and I almost died-"
OR:
Where Ava is dead set on hiking the Halo trail - falls through the ice the very first day and is rescued by a (very hot) woman (by Ava's humble opinion) with her sled dogs.

Summary
Beatrice swears up and down her sole focus at the market is to make sales. JC would say it's bullshit. The little brown cat, Pinecone, would flick his ear in refute (no more treats for him) and the woman one booth away that manages to somehow always catch her eye would grin wildly. Are you sure about that?

Summary
There is a belief that the first human instinct is to lean. That as soon as we are born, we reach out for any contact that is bigger than gravity.
What did she learn?
Leaning your forehead against another while they clean away the blood was not much different from having their sweaty body pressed up against you while they fill you up, actually.

Summary
After a snowball fight with some kids, Ava ran back to a smiling Beatrice with a pout on her face, “Baby, I can’t feel my hands,”
“I told you to wear gloves, didn’t I?” I told you so.
“Well yes, but we cannot change what is, only what will be, right? We can’t just turn back to the hotel to wear gloves,”
“Why not? That’s a perfectly reasonable thing to do. And where’s the “I should have listened to you?” this time?”
“But I’m cold now, and I’ll be cold all the way back, and I don’t want to waste time getting back to the hotel. There are so many things to see and do!” Ava giggled. “Also, didn’t someone say I was a brat?”
Beatrice rolled her eyes. “Alright, what do you propose then?”
"We find a way to warm me up of course!"

Summary
It’s the question she asks after every fight. And every time, Ava’s answer is always the same.
One hand grabs the lapel of Beatrice’s jacket to pull her close, while the other settles itself on the back of her neck. “No,” Ava breathes, chin tilted up and body pressed against Beatrice. In this position, she can feel the muscles in Beatrice’s body all coiled and calculating—the way she gets in the ring. Their lips are only millimeters apart, and the urge to taste Beatrice is overwhelming. But Ava has been so patient, and this final move is always Beatrice’s to make.
Her eyes flutter shut. She hardly has to wait before there are hands on her hips and a mouth against hers, and Ava wants.
