Summary
Willow appeared in the doorway behind him and stepped up next to him, leaning against his side. Gently, oh so gently, she lifted her hand and pushed back a section of his hair, right where she said it would be. “Here.”
It blended in easily with the blond, but it was there.
Hunter had gray hair.

Summary
Stammering, Lance turned back to his guitar, his hands sweaty. “I - I liked your song yesterday. Er, last night. This morning?” Scratching the back of his neck, he laughed. “It was nice.”
Keith didn’t respond for a moment. Glancing at him, Lance saw that he was still staring at him, his cheek squished up against his knees. He looked so cute. Fuck.
When Keith finally spoke, it wasn’t at all what Lance was expecting.
“You’re pretty.”

Summary
He hears a snicker, and he sends a glare at his boyfriend. “Lance, if I’m going to open this one and find another box...”
Lance’s eyes grow comically wide and he goes silent. Keith sighs, turning back to the box. “This better be a jaw-dropping gift.”
“It will be,” Lance murmurs. Keith looks at him, and he smiles, his eyes soft. “Trust me.”

Summary
Hunter discovers that one of Willow's favorite books is a series of fantasy novels revolving around a forbidden romance between a witch and a grimwalker. Obviously, he has to read it.
"You had a crush," Hunter says slowly, like he's afraid confirming it will jinx it. "…on the grimwalker character?"
"Oh yeah, big time," Willow says, lips curving upward in a cheeky grin.
"So, the fact that he was a grimwalker didn't put you off?" he asks softly.
"No," Willow replies, just as resolutely as the main character had done. "Why would it?"
Hunter stares at her for a moment, utterly spellbound, a dozen different doors he'd thought were locked suddenly bursting wide open.
"I know I said no spoilers, but I've got to know…does she say yes?" he asks, and Willow could swear there's a double meaning in his hopeful gaze. "Do they end up together? Happily ever after?"
Willow smiles at him.
"I guess you'll have to read to find out."

Summary
“You know that you can talk to me about this stuff too, right?”
As the dirt pressed in under her short nails, Willow wondered how difficult it would be to sink into the soft rich soil and make it her bed, hidden away where she could sleep and pretend everything was okay again.
But she was more witch than dirt and that just wasn’t how things worked.
“I know.”
Or: Willow is avoiding talking about her feelings after getting trapped in the Human Realm, and distracts herself by fixating on Hunter's hands. Hunter just wants to know what's wrong.

Summary
Willow exhaled, resting her temple against the glass and closed her eyes. Hunter didn’t believe for a second that she would fall asleep, as her body remained coiled with tension.
“He just...” She whispered. “...wanted to see this world so much.”
Hunter could see it in that smile, in those weary eyes, hear it in her heavy voice.
Willow was absorbing Gus’s burdens to lighten his load. It was quite possible she was doing the same with everyone who surrounded her.
This left her own burdens neglected.
He understood how it felt to devote your entire self to the monsters that plagued the life of someone else. It withered away every fragment of yourself that belonged solely to you.
“Like you wanted to see the rain.” Hunter reminded her.
It must be a little bittersweet for Willow too.
(The kids' first night in Camila Noceda's home. A late night conversation between Hunter and Willow, a pair of insomniacs who aren't very good at talking about how all of this is affecting them.)
