“If you like,” Frankie says carefully, “I could reach out to her. But if Annie is hiding something, I’m confident that she has a good reason.”
Britta nods, determined. “I think we should tread lightly. I can handle that.” Once again, Frankie seems pleased by Britta’s answer, and, once again, Britta gets a rush of satisfaction.
“I think that would be best,” Frankie says. “I truly am sorry that I have a lot of work to do, and don’t have more time for catching up. It’s been a pleasure seeing you, Britta. I do hope you’ll be back soon.” She seems genuinely sorry to be sending her out, and it occurs to Britta that Frankie might actually be lonely.
“Good seeing you, Frankie,” Britta says. Then she thinks about the way Frankie said the word pleasure. When she’s out in the parking lot, she catches herself trying the word out on her lips.

“It’s true?” Gen repeated, staring before her breath hitched. All at once, the obvious anxiety in Mel’s voice when they spoke over the phone tore through Gen’s mind. Melissa’s stiff manner when they played Zelda afterward. The way she had seemed so distant, button-mashing with none of her characteristic excitement. The way she had become so withdrawn since learning about the rumor.
Oh no, thought Gen as the urge to hug her friend overwhelmed her.

The one where Melissa and Gen get mono from sharing Gatorade at soccer practice, Allie spreads a rumor that they got sick from making out, Melissa comes out to Gen, and Gen gains insight into the T-800 model of Terminator 2.

(Softer) companion piece to the JackieShauna fic "i like the way you curse my name". Takes place between chapters 21 and 22 and isn't fully understandable outside of the context of the original fic.
It's the night before the game that will determine whether or not the Yellowjackets make it to Nationals, and Melissa and Gen are assigned a hotel room next door to Jackie and Shauna. Unfortunately for them, the walls are a little thin.
