“Mamă, te rog, te rog ajută-mă…”
Could she hear her?
“Măreților, ascultați glasul nostru, împreună cu reverență.”
She could not raise her voice above a whisper.
“Te chemăm în întunericul n-nesfârșit să ne dai în mâinile sorții.”
She was on her hands and knees now, legs unable to bear her own weight. The snow was unforgiving, each flake a tiny dagger against her skin.
“Așa cum luna de la miezul nopții răsare pe aripi negre, tot așa facem sacrificiul nostru și așteptăm lumina la sfârșit.”
Her tears seemed to freeze upon her face, arms shaking as she attempted to crawl through the snow. The forest was a labyrinth of shadows, each movement a herculean effort.
