Summary
When an assassination attempt on the High Queen of Faerie nearly succeeds, the news spread everywhere. Also in the mortal world, where Madoc, her father, is in exile. Even if he’d nearly killed his daughter before and she sent him away from Faerie, never to draw a weapon again, he can’t help but feel worried. And he will do everything in his might to find out if Jude is alright.
Basically just some fluff between Jude and Cardan and a few things that Jude and Madoc should have spoken about.

Loved this one!! A great study on Jude and Madoc's complex father-daughter relationship, and a brilliant take on some much needed conversations. This is the kind of thing I wanted to see between them in QoN but never did. Also, I adore Cardan here. He is adorable.

As he approached, a few things happened at once:
The Northern Water Tribe ambassador tugged sharply on Katara’s wrist, scowling down at her.
Katara yanked her wrist free, snarling something under her breath up at her former dance partner.
And Fire Lord Zuko found a glass of some nondescript party beverage splashed unceremoniously in his face, completely soaking his upper body in the process.

Or, when the new Northern Water Tribe ambassador's flirting with Katara goes too far, Zuko tries to be a gentleman and help. Key word being tries.

Contrary to popular belief, James Potter was actually quite intelligent. He didn't achieve the same high grades that Remus did, but his transfiguration ability was exceptional and he was a problem solver. “Alternative education” was Sirius’ term for it; learning practical magic skills through a series of misadventures.
Up until their first date, Lily had believed that James always scraped through life by the skin of his teeth. She never realized quite how amazing James’ life outside of class really was.
