Summary
“That’s it?” he finally asks, his voice low and dangerous. “I almost die, and you just realize you’ve been fucking up? What’s the trick? What the hell are you plotting now?”
Baek-Jin turns away, giving him his back. For the first time, he doesn’t seem made of stone. His shoulders are slightly slumped, his breath caught, a moment of fragility he tries to hide.
“No” he says softly. “There’s something I want… before I let you go.”---
Baku joins the Union. When he gets stabbed, Baek-Jin realizes he can't continue like this.

Summary
Na Baekjin’s face was unreadable, unnaturally tranquil, like he didn’t feel anything, like this was a perfectly usual occurrence, like he didn’t disappear out of Humin’s life years ago, left for dead, like Humin didn’t mourn him.

Summary
He shook his head with fake melancholy, but his eyes were blades.
“I hadn’t seen him in weeks. No one had. He just vanished. Poof.” Seong-je made a theatrical gesture with his fingers that turned Baku’s stomach. “And you know what? He likes disappearing.”
That sentence branded itself into Baku like a hot iron.
He likes disappearing. Not just because it sounded true. But because it was.--
Baek-Jin picked up the coat, weighed it in his fingers. He recognized it. He’d seen it on Hu-min.
The fabric still carried his scent. Not strong, but present: clean, with a hint of soap, and that unmistakable mix of gym and wind.He put it on. No ceremony, but slow movements. Almost… respectful. The material settled over his shoulders like it had been waiting. And Baek-Jin inhaled, deeply.
He felt everything: every gesture, every care, every detail. That idiot wasn’t giving up. Not on him.
~~
Baek-jin’s funeral is a farce, this is what Baku is convinced of while facing the different stages of mourning.
Too bad, though, that he’s right and Baek-Jin is alive, out there, fallen, and alone.
