Neither planned for becoming attached to the Adversary-in-Training or falling victim to a narrative that loves to shove characters together and cast them as romantic leads… and there was certainly no thought for the possibility of having identified the wrong child.
The ‘romantic leads’ part, on the other hand? Ugh. That’s been subtext for a long while.

NOTE: This fic is not abandoned, I had several ridiculous roadblocks to the end, but now that I'm (somewhat) free again, I'm rereading, editing, and finishing it. It'll be done by the end of 2024, pinkie swear.
