Summary
Peter actually has an internship at Stark Industries. He also uses it as a cover for Spider-Man related activities since it's much easier to explain burns on his hands if he chalks it up to an incident at his internship. Because of this, his classmates believe he spends his days dealing with chemical explosions and working on highly classified tech.
The truth? He's basically a glorified coffee runner. But hey, it's no biggie. It's not like anyone will ever find out.
And then Mr. Harrington announces their field trip.

But then what happened? His memory gets fuzzy. He was almost there, on a secluded road surrounded by forest. And then...
A deer! There was a deer, standing frozen and wide-eyed in the middle of the road. Peter swerved to avoid him. He couldn’t regain control as the car slid against the rain-slick roads. A flash of panic, his stomach leaping into his throat. An impact. Then nothing.
He crashed the car. Worse, he crashed Mr. Stark’s car.

Peter hesitates, and Ned gasps.

Wincing, Peter tries to argue, “It’s barely a stab wound—”
“—god! Holy shit!”
---Peter gets hurt. He then proceeds to go to school like normal. Was it his wisest choice? Probably not. Especially when he's on the verge of passing out during decathlon practice...

Iron Man saves a hurt Spider-Man, who decides to run away from a now very annoyed Tony Stark.
A few weeks later, Tony comes across Peter, a genius fifteen year old who always looks hungry and wears tattered clothing. To Peter's shock (and dismay), Tony decides to take him under his wing as his intern.
Meanwhile, Iron Man is trying to figure out who this spider-dude that is refusing to accept his help.
Set after the Civil War. Enhanced individuals are hated and feared. (Aka people hate spider-man.) Tony and Peter have never met.

And Carlos was likely going to spend the rest of his days off stuck at his parent's house while TK sat at their home alone. He was already dreading it all. He didn't think it could get much worse. Too bad one of the driver of said pile up decided to take road rage to a whole new level and pull out a gun on them...
