“Dude, you’ve been staring at me a lot lately, like even enough that Sam noticed. More than usual. So, like, what’s up?” Dean pauses, purses his lips and reconsiders. “What did I do?”
Cas knows that would be a perfect time to confess to Dean what exactly happened and what he was thinking. Maybe, Dean had some insight into the situation or even some kind of comfort to offer. But, the longer that he sat there, he realized that he could not tell Dean absolutely anything. So instead, for the first time, Cas fumbled.
“Um,” Cas mutters and abruptly stands. “Freckles?”
Dean blinked up at him as Cas pivoted and left the room. There was only one remaining option he had and unfortunately, it involved Sam.

Summary
Maybe he didn't need to wrap his arms around Cas at night. And maybe their legs didn't need to be so tangled. But Cas had read somewhere that being that close could synchronize their heartbeats and make them calmer at night and therefore it would help them sleep better. It was for scientific reasons that they were a heaped pile of grabby octopus legs and blankets every night.
Dean and Cas have been best friends since they were six. They're now twenty and in college and sharing a bed nearly every night. Yet, they still deny that they are together. Everyone around them knows Dean and Cas are in love with each other, they are just waiting for the two to figure it out for themselves.

Dean should be happy. His best friend and housemate of five years, Castiel, is moving out to live with his boyfriend, Balthazar. Dean's career is going great, so he can easily afford the house on his own now. This is just growing up, moving forward to the next phase of their lives.
It would be awesome, if he weren't in love with Cas.
Well, here we go, he thinks as he opens the refrigerator and digs around for sandwich supplies. First day of the rest of your life. Time to move the fuck on. As he slams his meat and mayo and pickles down on the counter, he considers adding the bottle of whiskey he knows is hiding in the cabinet, but decides that he has enough self-respect to wait 'til five. Then he'll get fucking blackout drunk. Yep. Awesome.

Summary
Seit zwei Wochen hält Leo sich nun schon von Adam fern. Zwei Wochen, in denen sie nicht mehr Worte als nötig miteinander gewechselt haben, weil Leo jeden Gesprächsversuch von Adam abgewiegelt hat, der nichts mit dienstlichen Dingen zu tun hatte. Es ist ihm verdammt schwer gefallen und er war mehrmals so kurz davor aufzugeben.
Doch heute Morgen dachte Leo noch, er würde endlich Fortschritte machen. Es lief alles so gut. Und dann hat Adam mit einem Satz einfach alles kaputtgemacht. „Wie wäre es, wenn wir mal alle zusammen einen Spieleabend machen?“
(Ein bisschen Streit, ein bisschen Versöhnung und ein bisschen Monopoly.)
