    Summary

Vi lets Caitlyn say things to her that she would never, ever take from anyone else.

    “You’re wrong.”
    “You acted rashly.”
“Perhaps there is a way to resolve this without punching someone.”

But also. You know. Other stuff. Embarrassing stuff.

    Summary

Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.

7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

    Summary

    (Illustrated)

The last time Sirius had seen Remus, Sirius had willed him to say all sorts of things, but all he'd said was "I have a job," and Sirius said "Okay, be safe." He had wanted to say much more, himself, but what could he say? "Sorry?" He wasn't sorry! And if it wasn't "sorry," what was it, and what would that conversation have even led to? And, in any case, there was no time to get into anything anyway, because Remus had a job to get to, and when was there ever time anymore, so he just let Remus walk out the door and spent the rest of the day tinkering uselessly with the motorcycle and high out of his mind, muttering under his breath to himself about how annoyed he was about the entire situation like a crazy person.

    ---

Sirius hasn't seen Remus in fucking months so he takes it into his own hands to find him, because he'll be damned if Remus avoids this conversation any longer.

    Summary

Sirius rubs at his jaw; he’d quite like another cigarette, but won’t chance lighting one in here after the dumbfounded look Remus had given him the last time (“in a shop full of fucking books?").

“Fuck me, it’s hot. At the beach—you can barely walk over those pebbles without shoes on, they’ll take the bloody skin off your feet. What shall we do now, do you think?”

“You could buy a book,” Remus suggests, with a dry smile. “And I could take the money for it.”

1976, Brighton. A second-hand bookshop in the lanes and its cashier: Sirius wouldn't even have gone in, but for the heat.
