Summary
It started with a glance. Angel met him in a small, dark juice joint in Harlem. He was sipping on some giggle water, listening to jazz music that curled around him like silky smooth whispers from a lover’s lips. It was the summer of 1933, and they weren’t supposed to meet that day… but they did. Angel woke the next morning gagged and bound in the back of Alastor’s blue-black jalopy, half relieved to be alive and half terrified to die. The radio man smiled at him through the rear view mirror, a twitching, wild-eyed smile on his handsome face. Alastor said he couldn’t kill him, but he also couldn’t let him go. They didn’t know each other, but the connection was… palpable.
A road trip down South. A bungalow in the bayou. Steel chains. Sharp kisses. Angel knows he should flee, and he does, of course, but there’s something so thrilling about being a cannibal’s conquest. What an… unconventional courtship.
It almost feels like spurning fate. It almost feels like blasphemy. It shouldn’t feel like love…
