Summary
Albus Potter is nothing like his father. He would be the first to tell you that. When he embarks on his journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he is accompanied by little more than feelings of isolation and frustration. The cold-eyed stranger and dark rumor he encounters on the train certainly don’t help.
After an unforeseen sorting and a society grappling with a faceless threat of extinction, Albus is forced to rethink everything he knows about his family, his world, and himself. Embarking on a journey of self discovery with an unexpected alliance, he must define the things that truly matter and how far he’ll go to protect them.

Albus’s laugh exists to spite the poets. It's the simply best thing in the entire world, and Scorpius pities anyone who hasn't seen or heard it. Albus. Where is Albus? Why isn't Scorpius watching and/or listening to Albus laugh right at this very moment? Why would he not spend every minute of every day doing that? Scorpius spins, gets on tiptoe, jumps to see over the crowd.

Someone is tugging on his sleeve. Albus!
"I misplaced you!" Scorpius flings an arm around Albus. "You're far too small. Easy to lose. Should work on that."
"I'll put it on the agenda," Albus grumbles, ducking his head. Scorpius can hear the smile in his voice.
