Summary
“Heroes look out for each other, it’s part of the job.”
Garou scoffed, crossing his arms. “Sometimes losing is what drives someone to become stronger. And besides, what if they don’t want my help?”
Bang gave him a sharp look, and Garou felt like he was twelve all over again, getting scolded for being a brat to the older students at the dojo. He lowered his eyes, kicking at the tiled floor of the dojo courtyard. “A dead hero can’t get any stronger. You help where you’re needed, and sometimes you’re needed by other heroes. If they don’t want your help because of your history, it’s up to you to prove that you’re trustworthy.”
Garou sighed.

Garou loses it when Badd gets injured in battle, and his mutation resurfaces in a desperate attempt to save his life. With Metal Bat in a temporary medically-induced coma, Garou has to deal with the Hero Association breathing down his neck while they try and figure out how to reverse his mutation. Meanwhile, all Garou wants to do is to keep Badd safe.
Feat. Garou & Zenko sibling shenanigans, overprotective Garou, and father-figure Bang. Also pining. Lots and lots of pining.

Summary
“So, what’s the deal with those guys? Why were they pickin’ on you?”
Garou scowled. What was this kid’s deal anyway? He felt out of step, the sting of defeat still sharp, and he wasn’t sure what he should say. No one had ever come to his defense like that. “I don’t want to talk about it. And I don’t need your help, so you can go, or whatever.”
The boy uncrossed his arms to put his hands on his hips, and Garou was pinned with a hard glare. “Those boys were beatin’ you up! It was three against one, that’s not fair! I wasn’t just gonna stand around an’ do nothin’!”
Garou felt his face heat up again, and he turned away. He heard the kid huff.
“My name’s Badd, by the way. What’s yours?”

Or, AU where Badd and Garou met long before Garou’s defection.
