Or Banana Fish Theory, for short. I was dissatisfied with Good Omens Season 2 in many ways, until I saw tumblr user lonicera-caprifolium point out something about the last few minutes of Episode 6--something structurally similar to Aziraphale's magic trick for which "Banana Fish Gorilla Shoe Lace with a Dash of Nutmeg!" is the trademark distracting phrase.
I was soon convinced that this event *does* occur--and figuring out how, and why, and whether I need to stick pins in a Neil Gaiman doll, has become a research project, which seems to be pulling together a Grand Unified Theory of Good Omens Season 2. I no longer think S2 is an oddly-structured mess, I think it's a high-wire act, though possibly one in a clown suit, and the wire is electrified.

I predict that the finale of Good Omens 3 will transform the GO universe into one where Heaven and Hell never existed. A universe that's billions of years old ... our universe. Because that's what Terry Pratchett would want. Aziraphale and Crowley will probably have to give up their immortality for this to happen. We'll cry, but it will be a *good* cry, a eucatastrophe.

Summary
stellar_dust noticed that most A/C fanfic includes some status imbalance because Crowley is Fallen and Aziraphale is Unfallen. I wonder what it would take to get them to a truly egalitarian relationship, given that Heaven & Hell, in Good Omens, are two siblings in a dysfunctional, abusive family. By the end of Episode 6 Aziraphale+Crowley have cut ties with most of their abusive family (yay), but they haven't done the work to unlearn the toxic habits of thought it gave them. That's what fanfic is for.
