Summary
The job of the Warrior of Light is to sacrifice everything for others, to be a weapon and little else, to never want anything for one's self. At least this is what Thilan believes and has tried to embody.
He's been quite good at it, generally speaking, as a sort of broken half-person with no past and no value outside of his use as a weapon. He's never refused to help or put his own wants ahead of those of others. He's saved the world.
And, just once, he's been given permission to do something selfish.

Don and Kathy would move in together. They would have a dog or two and then inevitably, a small parade of adorable little brats who would call him Uncle Cosmo, and they would spend less and less time with him, not on purpose but busy with the rest of their lives, and ultimately Cosmo would learn to make his peace with it because he’d have no other choice and he would have to try to move on and not live too much in his memories. He could picture it so clearly, he figured if the songwriting gig with Monumental didn’t pan out, he could always return to the backwater circuit with a new act: The Amazing Cosmo of the Cosmos—ladies and gentlemen, he sees the future, he reads the stars, he silently pines for his best married pal and all the while tap dancing!
Don and Kathy inviting him along on their honeymoon, though—that part was a surprise.

Thancred’s wandering eyes catch on an ear cuff prototype—a typical Ishgardian elezen beauty standard for emphasizing one’s ear shape. Urianger is most definitely not Ishgardian but there is no Ishgard here on the First and maybe the elezens in this land fancy cuffs to decorate their ears as Ishgardians do. Thancred finds himself lost in memories of nipping at Urianger’s fine ears, tracing his tongue across the point of it and feeling his beautiful elezen shiver at the sensation. How sweet it would be to pattern that sharp curve with worn metal and bring all attention to such a gorgeous feature upon his lover.
