Summary
Law is in the middle of counting stock in the back room when a heavy thud comes from the store floor. Must have forgotten to lock the entrance.
He walks around the cashier counter, only for his foot to catch on something, sending him careening down onto linoleum tiles face first. Law freezes as he turns over and sets eyes on the obstruction; a person slumped over with their head bowed, sitting against the counter with their hand grasping at their chest, pained noises escaping them with every other breath.
“Holy shit.”
Law just wants to live a normal life, but it never is in a grocery store worker x gang leader modern/mob AU

Summary
Law's first mistake is picking up that damned paper, sticking out from between the floorboards of the Thousand Sunny's deck. He doesn't recognize the handwriting, but scans it anyways. The recognizable script of his own name repeatedly comes up throughout the paragraph. And so does Luffy’s. In the context of them being two characters in a fictional scenario, in which Law is in love with Luffy.
Law chokes on his disbelief.
(Or: 5+1 times Law discovers fanfiction about him and a certain pirate king. Law does not handle it well.)

Summary
Keith looked away, not wanting to see Lance light up at the sight of Allura’s arrival.
The rustle of the sheets and Keith could hear the shuffle of Lance’s weakened legs as he crossed the room. He waited for them to stop at Allura, to hear the sound of Lance’s voice crooning some stupid pickup line at her.
The shuffling of his feet went right past her, and all of a sudden Lance’s face was looking up at Keith from where he was kneeling before him. His face was feverish, pink standing out on that brown face like a sunburn. His eyes spoke of worship as he stared at Keith as if he had never seen a sight so painfully lovely.Keith’s heart stopped.
“Oh, raven haired beauty.” Lance whispered, reverence lacing the sound of his trembling, rough voice. “Why do you not look at me when I burn only for you?”

Summary
“Mail for you.” Lance’s mom gestured towards the table. She was pretending to be casual, Lance could tell. But she was watching him out of the corner of her eye, and it made him tense.
There was an envelope on the table. It was thick paper, and closed with a golden seal.
Lance picked it up and stared at it. He knew what it was. He had already decided that he wasn’t going. He couldn’t bring himself to. He could barely bring himself to open it.
He tossed it into the trash can.

Lance is a farmer. He really doesn't want to be, but what else is he even capable of? He got left behind.

Bookmarker's Notes
this fic had me crying stupid. big fat fucking tears down my stupid red blotchy face. it’s funny because i’m about as old as lance would’ve been when he returned to earth and he’s been a little too real a little too much. here’s to hoping my ending is as personally satisfying as lance’s, though on a smaller scale than intergalactic

Summary
Lance is married, for fuck’s sake, and Keith being weirdly comfortable with him is not helping at all – not in the slightest.
The light reflects on a piece of silver metal on Keith’s hand as his fingers play with Lance’s.
He zeroes in on it, his breath catching in his throat.
It’s a thin silver ring that sits nicely on his left ring finger, adorned with an even thinner golden band around it, perfectly matching, and mirroring the ring that Lance found on his bathroom counter this morning.
Oh, no way. No, no, no, no. Absolutely not.
This has to be some kind of cruel joke.
There is no way that the person he’s married to in the future is Keith.
or: Lance unwillingly takes one for the team and wakes up ten years in the future.

Summary
“Yeah I… I didn’t know I had a sister,” said Keith. “Until she died last month. And now I… now I’m, um, I-I’m like a single parent to my nieces."
He took a huge breath to steady himself, waaay to worked up to be on live radio.
“And I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.”
-
In which Keith is the guy who suddenly finds himself a single-parent to his two nieces, and Lance is the charming radio host who might be his only voice of reason in this mess

Summary
“Not—not that you’d be my rebound! I mean, you’d be helping me take my mind off of this guy, but to be a rebound, I’d have to have dated him first, I think, and he doesn’t even know I like him, so. You wouldn’t be a rebound. At worst, we become badass partners-in-crime with a grudging respect for each other, at best, we’re soulmates for life and this is fate trying to help us find happiness. So. Um.” Lance swallows and looks up at the Blade of Marmora soldier through his lashes. “What say you?”
They look down at their hands for a moment, fingers twisting together in deep thought. Then they’re pulling their gloves off, revealing pale, half-bruised knuckles of the human variation, and their mask is dissolving, giving way to big blue-purple eyes and an achingly familiar jet-black cowlick. “Who,” says Keith Kogane, in that low-pitched rumble that makes Lance’s stomach roil in the good way—holy fuck—“is this guy you’re trying to get over?”
