Tony hears footsteps echoing in the building. They get closer and closer.
Oh good, he thinks, fuzzily. Someone's come to put him out of his misery. He's hoping it'll be some run of the mill low level Hydra agent. Killing Iron Man would definitely get them promoted. And good on them, Tony thinks, advancing their career like that. He'll send them some flowers posthumously.
He may have a concussion.
A hand smooths his hair back and he flinches away violently. His eyes snap open -- when did he close them? -- and Natasha is looking down at him.
"You're muttering."
"Hello, Judas." He says through chattering teeth. "I'm glad they sent you to do the job. You'll make it quick and painless, right? Like Old Yeller?"
"I’m not here to kill you, Tony."
Natasha brings Tony home after Siberia, and even though she's a fugitive now, he can't seem to get her to stop coming around.
