That seemed even more curious to her, for there was nothing remarkable about it, and he'd never before had an interest in the macabre, like she did, to make spending time here intriguing. “Oh, I can show you something far more interesting! Have you ever been up Cross Hill to see the view from the top?”
He thought he had probably seen it on one of his visits with his parents, but this seemed like an appropriate time to bend the truth a bit. “I have not had that pleasure. Could you show me the way?”
