aka Peak Lord Liu Qingge Adopts Random Disciple!
Liu Qingge sets eyes on 14-Year-Old Qing Jing Disciple Luo Binghe, beaten black and blue during the demon invasion of Cang Qiong Mountain. Despite struggling to stand, blood oozing from his wounds, the sheer brutality in Luo Binghe’s eyes made Liu Qingge falter. From this moment on, Liu Qingge becomes (a little bit more than warranted) invested in Disciple Luo, determined to discover what made the youth radiate such bloodlust at moments when he believed no one was watching.
This, as one would expect, changes many things.
Alternatively: Liu Qingge, by some miracle or cruel twist of fate, does not die in the Lingxi Caves; Luo Binghe is a little more jaded this time. Liu Qingge has to grapple with revelations that change both him and Luo Binghe forever, and in the end, he has to make a choice: is he someone who can love and someone worth loving?

“More,” He confirms, and he cringes at how squeaky his voice is.

Taehyun doesn’t know why he seems so surprised. He’s never even really had any friends his age, being trapped inside the castle walls and all. The only other people he’d consider close are Iseul, the palace’s housekeeper, and Ari, his personal maid. Unlike Beomgyu, he thinks. Taehyun’s tempted to ask if he’s his closest person too—even more than his lovely parents, even more than his dozens of friends spread out over all four kingdoms, more than anyone in the land. But he doesn’t want to feel the inevitable misery that will overcome him when he hears his answer. As nice as Taehyun is, Beomgyu no doubt has someone he favors even more than him, with the great deal of people he’s well-acquaintanced with. He thinks he doesn’t have to be the best. They all have people they get along with better than others, it’s part of friendships.
Even after this, Taehyun still cannot wash away the bitter aftertaste on his tongue. -
