Свинством можно было назвать эту фразу лишь с одной стороны. С другой стороны можно смело обозвать грубостью. Наверно, потому что фраза задевала его самого — это всё было скрыто, упрятано далеко и надолго. Возможно ещё из-за слабости, о которой Томас Джефферсон знал. По крайней мере зацепиться и отреагировать на эту фразу было меньшей грубостью, чем сказать её. Александр поёжился. Никто не должен ворошить прошлое. Особенно Джефферсон.

It’s December when Dream realizes, with certainty, that he knows what love is.
It hadn’t been a mystery before. He wasn’t without love, necessarily. He was familiar with it in the way he was familiar with rain or the passing of Halley’s comet. It happened occasionally. Sometimes he saw it, felt it, was permitted to taste it.
But this is recent. There’s a tangibility with this. He lives in love now. He walks through it every day, can feel it when he moves, heavy and warm like a weight around him.
