Summary
It's hard to keep your head on straight when you've been in a coma for four days.A Harvitius chieftain by the name of Tamaro finds himself in the care of a ward apothecary Mosuraki. While at first, nothing sees amiss, Tamaro is quick to recognize signs that he is in territory occupied by his mortal enemy—humans—and tries to leave, despite the grave insistence of his care provider. While he's being forced back into his bed, he makes a snap decision to place a fatal bite on the Mosuraki to make his getaway, but the medication that he ingested keeps him from mustering together the strength to sink his teeth in enough to do so—let alone walk out of the ward afterwards if he did succeed. It's the Mosuraki named Chestnut's decision to give Tamaro a second chance—comply or you're food for the wolves—and before long, they're sorting out their differences.
Tamaro bargains for a swift recovery and departure. Chestnut bargains to have another bite placed on that fluffy neck of his. Surely, there's some kind of compromise to be made here, right?
