    Did somebody say Mingli fic?

    Nie Huaisang was sitting in the aviary, feeling extremely pleased with himself, when Wei Wuxian bounced in and immediately demanded, “Are you trying to steal my shijie?”

    “What?” Nie Huaisang blinked at him with pretend innocence. “Wei-xiong, why would you say such a thing?”

    “Do you think I’m an idiot? Do you think shijie is an idiot?” Wei Wuxian continued. “I mean, what you’re doing is so blatant that Jin Zixuan noticed, and he is an idiot. So let’s try this again, Nie-xiong – are you trying to steal my shijie and marry her off to your brother?”

    “I sure am,” Nie Huaisang said cheerfully. “I mean, who would you rather have to sit with at family dinners, me or Jin Zixun?”

    tl;dr what if the lectures were at The Unclean Realm rather than Cloud Recesses?

    Summary

    Wei Wuxian finds a little carrot out in the vegetable patch and picks it up to bring home!
    Though some people might not be all that happy about the Yiling Laozu growing more vegetables...

    Now, Wei Ying might not care what people say about him....but he will not allow them to speak ill of the ones he loves, a fact that is about to prompt some changes.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Walking inside, Lan Zhan did what he always did first: look around to find his husband and greet him.
    He didn’t expect to find his husband holding a blanket with something small inside it. A small something that has small black hairs poking out, and little, tiny fingers. His eyes slowly went wide at the sight of Wei Ying holding the small bundle in his arms.
    He barely even hears when Wei Ying speaks, with that edge of nervousness to his tone.
    “...Can we keep her?”
    Summary
    The boy was sitting cross legged, bent over and seemingly stuck in a continuous cycle of growing flowers and then letting them wither with what they could only guess to be spiritual power. Mud and dirt caked the boy, but his features could still be seen. He was wearing dark emerald robes that would’ve looked like black in the shaded forest if it wasn’t for the ray of light breaking through the leaves to paint the boy in a shimmering gold. The boys long hair was flowing freely behind him back, the black locks lying limp behind him in his sitting position.
    He grew a flower, the deep crimson color reminding Shen Jiu of blood. Then he continued to pour qi into the already bloomed bud, causing it to shrivel in on itself and die.
    Then he grew the flower again. Then watched it die.
    Again and again. Like he was waiting for something new to happen without changing his action.
    “Who are you?” Fu Guiying asked hesitantly. The boy had yet to look up, showing no signs of recognition for the humans now standing beside him.
    The boy looked up.
    Green eyes that matched Shen Jiu’s own stared at him. The boys eyes looked dead. He looked haunted, like he had seen something he could never unsee.
    Summary
    Shang Qinghua let out a long, shaky breath. “Right. Okay. Sure. No problem. I can work with that. That’s fine.” He shifted the baby in his arms, looking down at the tiny, squirming face, the damp lashes clinging together. “You hear that? As long as you make it to the sect, everything’s good. Easy quest conditions. No trauma required.”
    Luo Binghe made a faint snuffling sound, unimpressed.
    Shang Qinghua’s smile collapsed almost instantly. “Oh, gods, what am I saying?” He scrubbed a hand over his face, leaving another smear of drying blood. “I’m not qualified for this! I can barely keep myself alive half the time! You need—uh—you need a responsible, kindhearted woman from a humble background with good soup-making skills, not a chronically overworked peak lord-slash-spy!”
    The baby responded by making a small, gurgling noise that sounded alarmingly like agreement.
    “Don’t sass me,” Shang Qinghua muttered. “You’re, like, twelve minutes old.”
