Carmy nods, perhaps a little too eagerly, before he can find his words, “Yes, yeah, I still want it. Thanks.”
She laughs a little even though he wasn’t trying to be funny, “Cool. Here.”
He takes her phone and types it into his own. Then, he texts her a chef emoji to make sure she has his number. It makes her laugh again.

Sydney wonders where he is.
As she is crouched near the floor, in between the outside and the inside of the party. The shouts and cheers are muffled but still present as she feels the rhythmic thumping of the music against the door. Her coat is crumpled in her hands. And yet, she wonders where Carmy is.
