Summary
Special Agent Miya Osamu has had a rough go. Another one of his leads is dead. His list of cold cases continues to grow. No one believes him when he says Suna Rintarou is the son of a bitch responsible, and Osamu's reputation is tanking.
He's on the brink of calling it quits when Suna approaches him requesting protection in exchange for information about the last two men who turned up dead. It's an offer Osamu can't refuse, especially when it could be one final shot at gathering enough evidence to throw Suna behind bars.

It’s simple; Osamu doesn’t actually have to say it out loud. Friends don’t kiss, because kissing makes things weird. Suna said something before, the second time it happened. Be careful, he’d murmured. Don’t wanna accidentally cross the line, right.
Friends don't kiss. Friends don't sleep over at each other's houses and touch each other and sleep together, and they certainly don't keep doing that, over and over. Osamu knows this. Suna knows this.

If this is going to be a usual occurrence, and Osamu’s going to fix himself into a permanent place in Suna’s life, then Suna supposes he’ll have to get used to it. He’ll have to get used to flashes of his sensibility falling apart that Osamu picks up and pieces together with calming smiles, followed by his palms breaking out in clammy sweat remedied by Osamu intertwining his fingers with Suna’s. He’ll have to get used to letting Osamu cook for him and forcing Osamu to move aside so Suna can do the dishes, and he’ll have to get used to bursts of affection so strong he feels like he’s in a chokehold, only to be pried out of it by Osamu murmuring Rin into Suna’s ear.
