You cannot prove this didnt happen inbetween episodes. Mostly canon compliant with a little bit of embelishment when it comes to Kafka's waistline. The two of them take a while to work out their feelings but that doesnt mean they wont act on them. Basically runs parallel to the main plot of the anime but its just the sex scenes.

Summary
Reno finds things out about himself, like that he has a not so litlle crush, on of all people, Kafka Hibino. Kafka is suprised by the confession but doesn't take it very seriously, his own feelings clouding his judgement.
Reno gets strange symptoms, strange arousal on sudden spurts during the day and nigth.
He gets so bad as to steal clothes from his favorite alpha, what he doesn't suspect is that this are symptoms of anothet thing, a recessive omega, he doesn't know it until its too late, diagnosed and lost he only has one personhe can trust with helping him during his first heat, at the old age of 24.
