Lothíriel is a healer in the Houses of Healing, weary and quite alone as she tries to nurture Faramir and Lady Éowyn back into health, have hope and hold everything together in the days following the battle of Pelennor fields.
Éomer is weary and quite alone too, shaken by the loss of his uncle and near death of his sister while bracing himself for yet another battle, one that might be the end of everything.
Éowyn, having sought death in battle without success, now fears that she might be the only one who will be left alive of her people as others ride to face the enemy, and she is to stay behind in an unfamiliar city and try to find a reason to heal.
Faramir, having also expected to die and unexpectedly being still alive, tries to recover from his injuries, grapple with his losses and be a Steward to a war-torn city, while also being a responsible adult in charge for two young noble ladies who don't exactly like being told what to do.

"Lord Éomer?" the woman let out a cautious greeting as she walked closer, wrapping her robe tighter around herself, somehow sounding as puzzled about his presence as he was of hers.
"Yes. Evening, Lady Lothíriel," Éomer replied hastily, clearing his throat a little as he took a couple steps closer, guessing that the woman had to be Prince Imrahil's daughter, the youngest of the siblings. "Pardon me, my lady, but ...Why are you in my room? Has something happened?" he questioned in as polite a tone as he could manage amidst his confusion.
"Your room?" she repeated, blinking. "Actually, I was about to ask why you are in my room, my lord."

The existence of this fic is all thanks to TheMoonlily's tumblr post (that I came across months and months ago) about an éothíriel-idea that was something along the lines of "Éomer comes to Minas Tirith for Éowyn's wedding and is staying with the Amrothian's during his visit. Due to a payback-for-previous-prank from Amrothos, he ends up in Lothíriel's room." that just opened some inspirational floodgate in my brain and I couldn't resist writing this. i hope you have as much fun reading as I've had while writing this.

”You should take them off,” Éomer said, watching as she leaned down to squeeze more water off of her hem. ”It’s not good to be in wet clothes for long, even if it’s not that chilly now.”
”Well, yes… But…” she trailed off hesitantly as she straightened back up and glanced around, a blush rising to her cheeks at the thought. There was nothing but grass and rocks and shrubbery as far as eyes could see, but the thought of undressing out in the open still felt strange. Even though the remote place was practically as private as their chambers at home, if not even more.
”It’s alright. There is no one here.”
She gave him a long look, a knowing smile twitching on her lips as she met his gaze, noticing the cheeky glint in his eyes.
