When he had been a child, it was all his governesses had spoken of – how the Mother had smiled upon Prince Baelon, to let him live when every maester in the city had claimed he would not outlive his first nameday.
Baelon Targaryen lives and as King Viserys' health declines, he orders his heir to take a spouse at last. How fortunate that Aegon has been vying for the place by his brother's side for years.

Summary

Summary
First came the sweet taste of berries and cherries with deep velvety richness. Then the bitter and pungent flavour followed. At that moment it was too late, the substance had already entered the body. Other people would claw at their neck or try to vomit and get it out of the system but he doesn't want to spend his last few seconds like that. It would be pathetic, more pathetic than he already is. He should have thought of such an act being possibly plotted against him, the war was far from being over. At least it was… until now. Blood trickles down his dry lips and he knows it's too late for anger, curses and regrets. With him losing his consciousness he forcibly embraces the black empty nothingness that is death.
That's what he thought would happen.
The story is mainly focused on Aegon dealing with his new life and the challenges that come with it. All of that while keeping his memories and experiences from his original old life. Aegond as main pairing because their post-Rook's Rest dynamic has me in chokehold
