When it had first happened, when it had first became apparent that they had lost, that their ideals, and principles, and dreams, had been squashed by British guns, but British ships, by British men, there had been some hope of at least being treated in the manner of official prisoners of war.
It had soon become clear, however, that they are not considered the opposing side any longer.
They are traitors to the British crown, and traitors deserve only death.
