He was nearly 3,000 years old, had seen many battles that could not be won, but still feared that this would be the worst.
Not giving his hands the chance to seize up, he brought them to his hair, where he started weaving the familiar paths his mother had taught him long ago.
To wield a bow, one's hands must be strong and sure. Too often, Legolas had seen young archers' hands lock in the heat of battle, not allowing them to aim or fire the weapon.
It had happened to his own hands once.
