loving eddie comes as naturally as breathing. richie sits there and just listens to the timbre of his voice, letting it settle in his chest, keeping him warm. he looks at the lines of eddie’s face, the wrinkles and crevices and smile lines and creases, and wonders how anyone could ever look at him and not fall in love.
richie thinks he’d love eddie in any life he lived. he doesn’t know if he could stop even if he tried, and he finds more and more with every passing day that he doesn’t ever want to. it makes being just friends a bit hard, but he’d rather have this long distance friendship than nothing at all.

“Why are you up?” He asks once he’s outside, coming to lean against the railing beside his boyfriend. Jaehwan turns to face him a moment, arms supporting his weight where he’s folded them atop the railing, then turns back to face the cityscape and takes a drag from his cigarette.
“Mostly because I'm not asleep,” replies Jaehwan, a dodgy moment too late after he exhales. He doesn't turn to Hakyeon as he speaks, yet even with the dull lighting, only his profile visible, Hakyeon can see the worry creasing his face.

“I’m gay,” says Wonshik, looking away from Jaehwan and then down at his chest. He hooks his fingers into the collar of his shirt and pulls it down a little, revealing that colorful tattoo Jaehwan had seen in the classroom. It’s a rainbow. “Is that not-- I mean. I didn’t put pronouns or anything in the lyrics, but I figured it was pretty clear. You aren’t… you don’t have a problem with that, do you?”
“No!” Jaehwan might shout it a little louder than he needs to, startling Wonshik and making him jump a little, before hurrying to correct his volume. He meets Wonshik’s eyes as earnestly as he can and smiles, reassuring, “No, no. I don’t have a problem with that.”
