Everything with Sykkuno felt new, and Corpse had been riding a high for the last couple of hours. Just Sykkuno’s voice was usually enough to boost his spirits, but the real, living Sykkuno? The Sykkuno that hugged him and touched his hair and grabbed his arm and didn’t cover up his pretty smile as he laughed at Corpse’s stupid jokes? Hanging around this Sykkuno made Corpse feel feverish and punch-drunk happy, heart fluttering faster than a hummingbird’s wings every time Sykkuno as much as made eye contact with him. Corpse wasn’t used to feeling so alive, and Sykkuno felt too real.
