There’s a beat and then Phil says, “Clint, you don’t have anything to prove.”
And that stings, because, “If you think I’m doing this to prove anything to anyone, then you don’t know me half as well as I thought you did.” He hears Phil sigh on the other end of the comm. “Besides,” Clint tells him, “I’ll have back-up. I’ll have Barnes. Hawkeye out.” He reaches up and clicks off the comm, cutting off Phil’s continued objection mid-word.
Eight days these assholes have had Barnes and he’s not going to let them keep him for another hour, much less another day. He doesn’t have anything to prove, but he sure as hell isn’t going to give anyone any reason to question his actions, either.

Summary
Soobin squints at the round black spot that he knows is Beomgyu's head behind the camera controlling the Kiss Cam screen. Beomgyu is using it to faux-scan the crowd for any couples, but Soobin knows he's going to direct it to him in a few seconds.
When the camera slows down in Soobin's area like hawk stalking its prey, he panics and turns to the person on his left.
(The boy is pretty, with pink hair and full lips and round glasses perched on a button nose, but Soobin doesn't register any of that until a minute and 4 seconds after their lips pull apart.)
"Hey, I'm Soobin. If you're cool with it, can you kiss me in 2 seconds?"

this is painfully beautiful. Author spends 13k words waxing sheer poetry about love and choice and freedom and happiness and trust and equal partnerships and taking that step and affection and idolisation and exaltation and the quiet moments of just simply adoring each other. and i love them for it.
