Chapter Text
Spider-Man makes his way, following the sound of horrified screaming. Every inch of him hurts. The burns were being particularly bad today.
He finds the alley, and sees the result of K8. A pile of flesh on the ground mark his pressence. The distant skittering of spider legs makes Spider-Man look around for the source of the noise.
"Peter..." A thousand voices hisses, "Hello... How are you? It's been so long I've been free..."
Spider-Man doesn't respond. His breathing gets harder as he snaps his head to the side. But the spiders are everywhere in the alley, and he can't focus on any one spot to long.
"But you know that of course... You locked me up!" Rage fills the voices hissing at him. "I was powerful! Ready to destroy you and you bested me.."
"I won't let you get away with this," Spider-Man says quietly.
K8's laugh is haunting as the spiders skittering away. Spider-Man reaches for his phone. He knows Wade won't answer, but he doesn't know what to do.
"Wade," he says quietly into the answering machine, "K8's talking now. That means something, doesn't it? I miss you. I hope I can deal with this alone. My burns really hurt."
He pauses, crouching on a wall and talking to the phone. "Princess Bride makes me feel lonely, now. Goodbye."
The phone clicks shut, he swings to the next crime.
