Chapter Text

"Babe, you know where Amajiki's sweater is?" Eijirou called from his son's bedroom.

"Up your ass, Eiji." His husband called back.

Eijirou rolled his eyes, even if Katsuki couldn't see it. "Come on Katsuki, he might need it!" He could hear Katsuki's footsteps echoing down the hallway. "Florida weather is changing all the time you know," He continued, getting up and tossing over the toys that littered the ground in a mad search for his son's favorite hoodie.

"And yeah, I know it's the summer but still, what if he's cold after the pool? Didn't think about that one yet did you Katsu-" Eijirou stopped his mad hunt when he felt two strong arms weave around his abdomen, and soft lips pressing on the crook of his neck.

"Eijirou." Katsuki spoke, voice muffled by the cloth of Eijirou's shirt collar. Eijirou sighed and leaned into his husband's embrace.

"It's going to be 80 degrees, shitty hair." He could feel Katsuki's voice vibrating on his skin.

"Yeah, I know..."

"It's Florida, Eiji."

Eijirou grumbled.

"If he brings his hoodie he's gonna get heat stroke, babe."

That did the trick.

Eijirou sighed. "You're right, I know you are. Still, it's our first big trip with them and I wanna be prepared!" He turned his head slightly and met Katsuki's eyes. He gave the blonde's forehead a kiss before continuing. "By the way, how's Hado doing?"

At the mention of their daughter, Amajiki's twin sister, Katsuki positively glowed with a ferocious pride. "She packed all by herself. She shoved me out of the room when I tried to help, and she didn't forget a thing." Katsuki smiled at EIjirou, eyes flashing with a mixture of love and pride. "That's my girl." Eijirou said, knocking his forehead lightly against Katsuki's. "Yeah, she's doing really great. Tamaki is too."

Eijirou hmm-ed. "Yeah?"

"Yeah, he packed his things while you were trying to find his winter boots." Eijirou blanched comically. Katsuki snickered. "He came and got me when he was done. I asked him why he didn't tell you and he said," Katsuki cleared his throat and did his best small child impression.

"Daddy keeps giving me winter things to pack. Does he not know where we're going?"

Eijirou groaned. Katsuki barked with laughter.

"Papa, is Daddy okay?"

Katsuki smiled, and so did Eijirou. Their son and daughter stood at the door, dressed in their PJs and ready for bed. They would be leaving their New York home tomorrow to drive down to Florida. They'd be meeting their friends and classmates there again, something akin to a much bigger family reunion.

It felt like just yesterday that Eijirou woke Katsuki up to go on a life-changing trip. and here they were, nearly ten years later.

They had both known they would get married pretty early on, but they waited. They graduated, got an apartment together, gained their dream jobs (Kirishima was a physical therapist and Bakugou was a pyrotechnics specialist) and finally, finally got engaged. Not before traveling the world for a year though; Katsuki had proposed to Eijirou first, hiking in the Kirishima Mountains in Japan.

It was fitting; An active volcano pretty much summed up their connection to each other. Katsuki's explosive personality, and Eijirou's hardy skin. It was a perfect match.

It helped that Kirishima and the mountains shared the same name.

They decided to adopt; A pair of twins that couldn't be more different. Nejire Hado and Tamaki Amajiki. They adopted the pair exceptionally fast, considering it was the day they were born. But Katsuki and Eijirou were in love at first sight with the two of them. The couple knew these kids were a part of their family even before they could talk.

"Daddy is better than fine Hado. He's just a little nervous is all." Katsuki responded as their kids walked over to the pair. Eijirou gave out a comedic groan.

Eijirou had known that Katsuki had a soft side; He'd seen it in UA. But he never could have guessed back then that he would see Katsuki talk to anyone like this. He loved his kids just as much as Eijirou did, and would never hurt them like others had hurt Katsuki in the past.

His rough features smoothed whenever he saw his son, and the corners of his eyes crinkled whenever he saw his daughter. He smiled whenever he saw Eijirou.

Eijirou gasped. "Amajiki! Hado! Quickly! Capture your father while he's down!" Katsuki's eyes widened for a fraction of a second before two giggling 9-year-olds pounced on their fathers. "Oi! Brats! Get off me!" The family of four tumbled to the ground, a pile of laughter and giggles. "Ohohoh, that's not very heroic Katsuki~" Eijirou smiled sweetly before tickling his husband into hysterics.

Tomorrow morning, Eijirou would wake Katsuki up at 5:00 AM. They would carry a sleeping Amajiki and Hado into the car and pull out of their driveway, silently wishing their house goodbye.

Then, they would be off to what seemed to many as the birthplace of modern magic.

Eijirou could roll with that.

It's where he found his.

Suddenly feeling a bit emotional and hysterical, Eijirou leaned over his husband's half-laughing half-glaring face. It was certainly an odd look. At least it was until Eijirou smiled and kissed his husband. His husband.

When Eijirou first laid eyes on Katsuki, he had known. Known he would love him for a very long time. But now, as he kisses his husband, as his children make "gross!" noises in the background, he hadn't thought that Katsuki would ever love him back.

For the scars, for the hair, for the tummy, for any of it.

But he knew Katsuki did.

He loved his scars, loved his hair, loved his weight, loved their kids, and he loved all of Eijirou unconditionally.

When Eijirou pulled away from soft lips, he looked in Katsuki's bright eyes. He smiled.

"I love you, Katsuki."

Katsuki smiled. He looked in Eijirou's bright eyes.

"I love you, Eijirou."

And then Katsuki grabbed his husband's shirt and brought him down, kissing him again. Another chorus of "gross!" filled the air, but they didn't mind.

They finally separated, mischevious looks in their eyes. "And I loveYOU Hado!" Eijirou exclaimed, pulling his daughter between him and his husband, effectively dog-piling the three of them. "And I loveYOU Amajiki!" EIjirou hoisted Amajiki into their now deluxe human oreo as the young boy giggled. There was a look on Katsuki's face that Eijirou couldn't decipher much, but the main component was love, and a no longer incredibly rare affection.

"And I love you all." The blonde finally chimed in, peppering a kiss on each of their kids' foreheads. He stopped at Eijirou. He smiled.

Eijirou smiled back.

They both leaned forward much too fast, and successfully bonked their heads together. Also effectively leading their children into bouts of laughter. EIjirou laughed as Katsuki rubbed his head. "Eiji, why is your head so damn hard?"

Eijirou smiled deviously. "That's not the only thing that's ha-" Katsuki smacked his husband's head, but his small grin betrayed him. "No dirty jokes in front of the children Eiji."

EIjirou's cheeks were starting to hurt from smiling so much.

'Definitely not the worst problem in the world.'  He thought to himself as he kissed Katsuki once more.

Even if they had left the magic kingdom, the fireworks stayed with them.

They knew because they could feel the warm, crackling, colorful heat brush their cheeks whenever they touched.

They knew because they saw them when they closed their eyes during a kiss.

They knew because when Katsuki opened his eyes, he saw Eijirou.

They knew because when Eijirou opened his eyes, he saw Katsuki.

And when they both turned around, they saw the greatness the fireworks had produced.

Their fireworks would always be with them.

Always.

Katsuki hummed against Eijirou's lips. They had just put the kids to bed, and were in the process of getting into their own until...they got a little distracted.

"Hmm?" Eijirou echoed against Katsuki's lips.

They parted, laying down and looking into each other's eyes.

"Ei, as much as I would go to bed right now, I think we have a problem." Katsuki said. He saw Eijirou's eyes widen slightly, his face pressed to the side on his pillow. "Problem? What problem?"

"A problem, Eijirou." Katsuki nodded sagely. "You see, my lips are very chapped." EIjirou smiled at him. "Got any chapstick?" Katsuki leaned closer to him, hoping Eijirou would get the hint.

...

"Yep. Should be in my drawer, hold on." Eijirou deadpanned, turned right over and attempted to open his bedside drawer.

Katsuki swore he would smack him for that one.

That is, until Katsuki grabbed his shoulder and turned him back around. All his resolve melted away, and Eijrou had a shit-eating grin on his face.

"You know what I mean, Eijirou."

Eijirou smiled devilishly.

"Yeah, I know."

And then, they kissed.

Katsuki hoped the fireworks would never go away. So did Eijirou.
