Crime Brings Love

Chapter 4

Summary:

Last chapter ...

Near the end of our painful day, we headed to my house. There, we packed some essential things because we were all sleeping at Dean’s place until we had Jack back. I wanted us to stay at mine’s, but Dean found that it would be dangerous to stay there in case the criminal came back for me.

I just had to hope the next day was a better one.

Chapter Text

Day 1, may 13th, 9:30AM

I woke up screaming and Dean scrambled in with a gun in hand. "What is it?!"

"Dean…" I said, panting, "nothing's wrong , I just had a nightmare."

"Oh. I'm sorry, Cas. I- it's just that I'm so on the edge since yesterday, worried that something'll happen to you." He explained, sitting on the bed.

"Dean." I said softly, searching his eyes. "Dean, look at me." His gaze caught into mine. "Don't worry about me. We gotta stay positive and look for Jack." I told him, cupping his jaw with my palms. "Now c'mon, we gotta get up and prepare breakfast before Gabe starts eating candies instead."

With that, he puffed out a small laugh and got up. "Then let's get to it, Angel."

"Angel?"

"Yeah, isn't Castiel the name of an angel?"

"Yes, I'm just surprised."

After breakfast, Jody called and we joined her at the station. There, she led us to the computer lab to watch every suspect of ours be interrogated. She loaded the first CD, labeled 'Lucifer Novak for the Jack Novak-Kline case's' into the player and pushed the play button.

On the monitor, I saw my brother, the ugly scars on his face almost all healed. 'So my brother can't take care of /my son/, what does this have to do with me?' He asked.

Jody sighed, 'Lucifer, these are routine questions, we believe that /Castiel's son/ has been kidnapped and you're one of the primary suspects.'

'Oh, I wish I did, but no luck, it wasn't me.'

The recording went on for about half an hour and ended as Luci said, ' will Sammy watch this?' To then wink at the camera before the image went blank.

The thing is, Sam hates Lucifer, I mean everyone does, but he does the most. It all started when we were both 18, my brother being ten years older and already boss of his organized crime association.

Then, Dean was only two years into his career and proving himself so well that he was handed the association's ever growing case. When Lucifer found out, he told someone to refrain the case from being Dean's top priority and everyone knows that the most important thing in his life is his baby brother Sam. The man my brother mandated, Azazel, his head drug dealer got an idea since his daughter was in some of Sam's classes. She'd make Sam fall in love with her.

Of course she had to prove him she wasn't evil like her dad, so she made a speech about how she never wanted to be like them and that she only wanted to be friends with him. She gained his trust fast and he presented her to Dean. Now, if you know Dean, you probably know he didn't take it well, his baby brother was introducing to him Ruby Prince, one of the most dangerous guys in the county's daughter as his girlfriend.

That's when everything went downwards. Three months into their relationship, Sam was stressed because finals were coming up and he didn't have time to study due to Ruby keeping him busy in his bedroom. That time was rough from him and I, he kept choosing his girlfriend over everyone even when I offered him to study with me or go for lunch to relieve some stress. The most alarming was when he became very calm suddenly and told me he already had the solution for his stress.

That is when Dean and I became closer friends. He told me Sam was acting odd and calm which I agreed. We then discovered Sam's stress relief was drugs and Dean flipped out, he took a break from his job to take care of Sam.

Of course that meant Lucifer's plan to occupy Dean was accomplished so Ruby dumped Sam while he was intoxicated. As soon as we found his passed out on the floor, we buckled him in the impala's back seat and brought him to their father's rehab facility. The boy's father, Bobby Singer, founded the facility after five years sober to help people with addictions like John Winchester who abandoned his son's at an old friends house three years after his wife died in a house fire to go play bumper cars with a truck. I never met John Winchester and I'm glad I didn't.

Anyways, Sam got cured, but Dean was so preoccupied by him that no one worked his assigned case and things got bad. Lucifer's gang got bigger and gained submission from more and more local businesses.

I was the one to tell Dean to go back to work and eventually, he did. He worked his case like a pro for three years until he found everyone linked to Lucifer. The mayor was one of them; Jefferson Rooney was a great guy, religious, just lost his wife. No one knew why he got with Lucifer in the first place but he left his lover, Kelly, here and she did not have it good and he might not even know it.

And now the latest lead on Lucifer's gang his my son's disappearance.
