Chapter Text
Kimi Akaguro resisted the urge to tug on her hair or fidget more than tapping her fingers. Getting woken in the middle of the night because your father – and only family – has been arrested by the Mustafa police and then being taken to the station is not what Kimi called fun. Particularly when no one would just cut to the chase and either question her or tell her what the hell is going. Preferably, the latter. Well, it could be getting scolded for showing up to a bunch of villain attacks and helping out. Ugh.
Kimi’s fingers still as the door to the interrogation swings open to show an officer. Kimi blinks, a person, not the strangest thing she has seen. Damn it, I’m too tired for this shit.
“I’m Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi,” the officer introduced himself. Kimi raised her eyebrows.
“Why am I here?”
Tsukauchi chuckled. “Straight to the point then?”
Kimi stifled a yawn and blinked back into focus. “It’s the middle of the night. So yeah, straight to the damn point.”
Tsukauchi nodded understandingly. “Well, Miss Akaguro, the villain Stain was taken in tonight in Hosu.”
Ah.
“He prefers to be called a vigilante, not a villain,” Kimi commented blandly, yawning. Tsukauchi raised an eyebrow at her, Kimi shrugged.
“What? I’m here because I’m his daughter, am I not? I hardly see a point of avoiding the truth. Stain AKA Chizome Akaguro AKA my father was caught. It was bound to happen eventually. Did he kill anyone or permanently hurt them again? I tried to warn them after Ingenium happened.” Kimi frowned. Ingenium had been permanently hurt without a chance of recovery according to the news stories.
While Kimi was looking at the table, Tsukauchi glanced towards the one-way window with raised eyebrows.
“Could you answer my questions then?” Tsukauchi asked, focusing back onto the young girl.
“Just make them quick please, I do have school and shit tomorrow,” she replied, slumping forward.
----
Naomasa Tsukauchi studied the young girl they had brought in. The daughter of Stain. She wasn’t much older than 15 and was passed out on the interrogation table. She told the truth the whole time, not once lying. Which was surprising considering it was her father who was getting taken to prison and she could be seen as an accomplice as Akaguro had known about her father’s activities.
“What do you think of her?” the blonde asked, for once while being at the station he wasn’t in his hero form, but rather his skeletal one. Naomasa glanced towards his friend, Toshinori Yagi, and shrugged. Toshinori and Naomasa went way back.
“I don’t know what to think of her. She answered all of the questions and didn’t resist when we came banging on the apartment door. She seemed to be expecting this to happen.” Naomasa ran a hand through his short black hair.
“She is something else,” a voice piped up behind them. Naomasa glanced towards the principal of UA High, Nedzu. The mouse was smiling softly with his eyes twinkling with something Naomasa couldn’t name.
“What is going to happen to her?” Toshinori asked.
“Probably will end up in the system and age out. She has no relatives to take her.” Naomasa didn’t like the idea, neither did Toshinori from his expression. With her background, that was going to be a crap place for her.
“Or she could come stay at UA?” Nedzu offered. The duo looked at the mouse with surprise and shock flitting across their faces.
“How would that work?” Naomasa asked.
“She could live with me or another one of the teachers and continue her education. I think she’d make a good hero.” Nedzu studied Kimi with a smile. “She’d be a nice addition to Class 1-A, don’t you think?”
Naomasa never thought Nedzu was scary, until he remembered how smart he was and his way of planning things. Though, it was better for her to go to UA then to an orphanage.
