With a Boy Like That, It's Serious.

Summary:

Caesar isn't quite sure what he's getting into.

Chapter 1: Opening

Chapter Text

New York was quite the large city.

People seemed to be in such a hurry to get wherever they were going, and as such one was often jostled out of the way rather roughly in the person's path. Caesar was quite disturbed by this. He knew Americans lacked the mannerisms of Italians, but he didn't believe it to be to such a degree.

His new place of residence was less than satisfactory as well, with a creaky floor, crappy bed, and no working heater. The kitchen was sub par, offering barely enough room to cook simple meals, let alone put together an extravagant dinner. Well, it wasn't like he knew anyone to invite to a dinner.

Yet.

Caesar desired friends and companionship, but at the same time he didn't want to have to bother with another person's feelings. He was too focused on attempting to make the best of this slightly forced situation. Unemployment rates were high, and he doubted that any of the hiring workplaces would take a foreigner. The man was fluent in English, having been taught it at a young age, but the simple fact that he was foreign was slightly offputting.

Eventually he found work at some department store where he was required to wear a horrendous uniform - a red polo and khakis. The workday turned out to be quite harrowing, with the man barely making it to lunch without collapsing. He hoped it was only temporary.

The desire to make friends still burned in the young mans mind. He was quite alone in a foreign country with people who had weird habits, and he needed someone to help guide him along the path of getting used to his new home.

Ah, maybe later. He was getting rather peckish.
