    “Should I just kill her?” he asked Red outside his apartment block. Red desperately did not want to have this conversation and appeared to be trying to locate an exit from it which did not involve self-harm. “Seriously. I can do it gently, she wouldn’t even know.”

    “Wade,” Red choked out, finally going still, “You can’t—you can’t kill a child.”

    Well, that wasn’t true. This wasn’t an issue of ‘can.’

    “Oh my god, no. You shouldn’t kill a child. Especially your child. You’re just—” Red squirmed with discomfort, “You’re just gonna have to take responsibility, man. I dunno what else to tell you.”
