Ye Qiu was born not alone. When he was born, there had been his older brother. They were only difference several minutes, yet It made him as a younger brother.

He hadn't seen his brother yet. But Ye Qiu felt the need to become one with him. He couldn't, of course. But It's enough to feel his warmth next to him.

Since he was a child, Ye Qiu hates the hospital. He hates the smell of medicine. But It was a pity that he was born with a weaker body than his brother. He hates the fact he can't play outside under the rain like his brother.

At least their parents allowed them to keep a silly dog. He called him Lil Dott because of a silly black dot at his right eye. Lil Dott often goes missing in their home and barks to call them.

What a silly dog.

One day, Lil Dott had gone missing. Because of that day had been raining cats and dogs, he asked Ye Xiu to help him to search the silly dog.

They decided to search for him without help their nanny. After a lot of power, they found him near the garden.

They found him, but then everyone sent him to hospitals later because he couldn't breathe. At his little world, He thought it was worth it. After all, Lil Dott is his family, right? It's not okay to leave him alone.

After that day, he didn't need to go to the hospital again. He was happy.

Ye Qiu has a brother who called Ye Xiu. He is really annoying. But he loves him even though he is annoying.

It was annoying that Ye Xiu always becomes the first. Like he will be the first to awake, the first at subjects, the first at playing games.

It was annoying that he would never let his defense down. But he loves him. In this home, It was enough to only have his brother and Lil Dott.

When Ye Qiu was 15 years old, He suddenly understands what It feels to hate your parents, or probably your father. His face still felt stung because of how painful his father's word.

"Qiu-di, are you alright ?" asked Ye Xiu behind the door. "May I go in ?" Ye Xiu didn't need to hear his answer before he went in.

"It is ridiculous! I became the top in the classes and he is angry because I got only less than perfect !" said Ye Qiu with a lot of fire. Ye Xiu's cool hand tried to grab his face, but Ye Qiu didn't want to see or hear Ye Xiu's reason to defend his father.

"I had enough with him! I want to run away." Ye Qiu slowly packed his clothes and prepare many things in his bag. Ye Xiu didn't try to stop his action but stare at the outside.

"Father wants you to become the best heir later. So It is inevitable for him to become harsh to you," said Ye Xiu. "What can you do outside? If you go back only after a week, Father definitely will laugh at your face."

Ye Qiu's face becomes red. He hated the fact that Ye Xiu didn't support his idea. "Why did you support him! Am I not your brother? You should support me instead of him !" He felt betrayed by his brother. "With or without me, nothing will be changed. There are still you. Why do I need to be the heir? I am not the firstborn." He pouted when Ye Xiu's hand made a mess with his hair.

"Okay, okay, I will help you. Just remember to bring a lot of medicines and money. And also stunt gun, chili spray and also..." Ye Xiu's sentence stopped because of the warmth of Ye Qiu surrounded him.

"Gege... love you," said Ye Qiu softly.

"En... love you too didi... Wish you wouldn't regret it." Ye Xiu gave a quick peck at his hair.

Ye Xiu, definitely, is the best brother in the world. Ye Qiu didn't know how he made every camera in their house turn off.

Slowly he began to move away from gates. For the last moment, he decided to look at his windows. There was Ye Xiu gave him a small smile. "I won't let you down, gege," he said.

As he could hear him, Ye Xiu gave him the biggest smile that he'd ever seen.

During his runaway, Ye Qiu met with Su's family. There were only Su Muqiu and Su Mucheng, but It felt enough.

When he met Su Muqiu, Ye Qiu bet with him that he would win one game against him. And he won. "When I heard the story about you, I thought you are more than this." Ye Qiu gave Su Muqiu a grin that will make Ye Xiu proud to him.

And they began their relationship as best friends.

"Qiu-ge, do you have siblings ?" asked Su Mucheng.

Ye Qiu became more gentleman than Su Muqiu then answered." Yes, I have a big brother. He is the best brother in the world !" Ye Qiu can hear Su Muqiu's rejection out loud.

But he won't change his mind.

"You said You had a brother, but why didn't he call you or chat you ?" asked Su Muqiu. Well, he noticed the lack of notifications from his brother.

"Well, he doesn't like to use the phone or weiboo you can say. An old man." joked him. To be honest, Ye Qiu missed him. But for this time, he would forgive him.

Ye Qiu, really, hates the hospital. He could only see white and smell the medicine. "Muqiu, Mucheng ?" called him silently. He couldn't remember many things.

He only remembered there was an insane truck that decided that it was good to crash into someone. Then...

"Muqiu, did you see my gege ?" asked Ye Qiu instantly when he saw Su Muqiu entered the room with Su Mucheng.

"Not your brother, but there is someone who said she was your mother."

Then Ye Qiu realized he was fucked out.

"NO, I don't want to go back." Ye Qiu refused his mother.

"Qiu-er, please come back. Can you see how much Mother misses you? Mother promises you can wish for anything. Mother will restrain your father too. But please, don't torture your mother like this." Ye Qiu stared at his mother for a long time.

Well... he didn't really hate his mother. Only despites her for not being able to spend her time with them. "Everything ?" asked him. A smile spreads from her mother's beautiful face.

"Then, I want you to adopt my friends into the family. At least, they are always beside me not like you two for nearly my 18 years." He could hear chocking noise from Su Muqiu.

Well, If he is in a hard moment, He will be happy to bring Su Muqiu too. And Su Mucheng will grow better under the name's Ye.

"So, You have never said you are from a really rich family." Su Muqiu gave him a stink eye. But he didn't care about that teasing.

"Well as another brother for Mucheng. She needs more perfect childhood to grow up, right? Well, no offense but I think Internet Cafe isn't the right place for growing up," answered Ye Qiu smoothly. Su Muqiu couldn't reject the truth.

"But I don't want to owe you," said Su Muqiu.

"Who said this is for free? Later you need to work under me for the payment." Ye Qiu only joked but he didn't know will Su Muqiu think it seriously.

But he only wants to be together with all of his family.

"Gege! I'm back !" Ye Qiu loudly said that then open Ye Xiu's room. Only to find there was a stack of the box there.

"Gege ?" He could only see dust everywhere.

Su Muqiu then asked, "Dude, are you sure that your brother didn't run away too ?" He didn't answer that.

He would rather ask his father If he punished Ye Xiu.

Then the chaos had broken.

The temperature decreased drastically. "Who did you call brother again, Qiu-er ?" asked Madam Ye pierced the silence. Ye Qiu then raised his eyebrows with that question.

"Of course my brother, Ye Xiu. Your first child If you forgot." Ye Qiu then became stiff when his father smacks his hand.

"After you ran away, you are lack of discipline huh? I'm sorry, but can you leave me with my son ?" asked Mr. Ye.

Ye Qiu didn't understand why his father got angry. Was it wrong to ask about his brother?

In the room, there is only him, his father, and his mother. "What's wrong with my question? I arrived only to find his room full of dust. Are the servants that stupid ?" His question only gave him an empty answer.

"Why did you become odd? Where is my gege ?" Ye Qiu raised his voice.

"Attitude Ye Qiu ! Where are your manners !" Mr. Ye gave him a loud reply, only not the one he needs.

"Scram with the manners! Is it wrong If I ask about my brother !" screamed Ye Qiu.

"Qiu-er, please stop. Xiu-er had left long ago."

His mother must be joking, right?

Ye Qiu closed both of his ears. "You are lying! Brother helps me to run away before. How the fuck he died !" Ye Qiu won't believe it. Ye Xiu can't die!

How can a dead person helped him to run away?

"You were still a child before... but that day when you and Xiu-er decided to search your puppy. Both of you got sent to the hospital. Xiu-er... can't survive again SARS at that time..." said Madam Ye.

"It was a miracle for you at that time to stand longer before your lungs started to give up. Because ... Xiu-er... the doctors then gave you the operation."

Su Muqiu found Ye Qiu in the dusted room which Ye Qiu called to be his brother's room. "Muqiu, my parents said Ye Xiu had already died. How can they joke about him ?" said Ye Qiu.

Su Muqiu hugged him. "He must be loved you a lot." Ye Qiu didn't refuse it. "He must worry about you. But... I think you should accept it, so his soul won't be at ease."

Ye Qiu felt numb. Slowly tears fall from his eyes. He should realize how cold it is Ye Xiu's fingers sometimes. How odd it is that Ye Xiu had never let him enter his room. How odd it is for Ye Xiu to refuse him when he asked to play outside. How detached Ye Xiu's smile for the last time.

He didn't know which one that make him hurt more. The fact that Ye Xiu is dead or the fact that he never realizes, he had left Ye Xiu forever when he chose to run away.

Once upon a time, Ye Qiu had a brother.
