Gosh, I'm sorry I stopped writing. It's been a very rough year(s), but I'm feeling great today. So here's another short chapter!!

Chapter Text

This really wasn't going to get any better for Aumarie. After an hour of being passed out, Regis did all he could. And his deductions said you'll physically make this, your body was getting used to something. He remembered reading what happened to humans when they first came to this world. Their bodies had to adapt to the magic of this world. Plus, you were much different than the humans in this world, far different. Not only was it noticed by her bizarre clothing, but just how she kept herself. How she cleaned was a higher maintenance than that of royalty.
Carefully Regis took the towel, wringing as he took it out of the water, patting her face. Trying to cool her down as she sweat heavily. He frowned, feeling guilt that he couldn't truly help the symptoms knowing it's not an illness known all too well. So he knew it was adapting to the magics of this realm.

It was hours upon silence in the guest room. A musky smell coming from the oak of the building and that odd brick scent. Yet a hint of fall air was present from the open window, that did its best to bring light in such a dark room. Occasionally people walked the halls, and animals rang their sounds and the building settling. This could be both maddening or a truly peaceful moment, in this situation, it was maddening. The helplessness if not being able help this poor girl and the curiosity of what her history has just a lot to handle. Soon everything was interrupted, with keen ears Regis heard a conversation just close enough to the room.

"Neeshirie.. What good is a sick human?" The voice sounded deep, manly and heavily disappointed.
"I'm sorry master," a feminine voice spoke with a heavy accent. But she was cut off before she got the chance to defend herself.
" I don't want to hear it!" The deeper voice spoke in a hushed, harsh tone. "If *this* human doesn't get better this week, kill it." Then footsteps stormed off. And a silent, yes sir came, as did the feminine voice too left.

Regis' stomach churned, frowning deeply at the conversation. He knew if the deep voice had little patience, then Aumarie would be for sure killed just for the language barrier. The barber surgeon thought about what choices he had. In truth, he didn't have much to begin with. Although he'd have to something, he better plan it out so it couldn't fail.

Regis asked a couple people whom he had helped. The next he was back in the mysterious woman's room. Sneaking in a swirl of mist, hiding in the shadows. Grabbing that bag from her bed, as he smelled the weird scent. But he opened the door, carefully misting through the hallway and opened the doors to the balcony. Off he jumped, floating safely down, a misted away to safety.
To the graveyard.

The days blurred in short visions, too ill to move or protest. But now Aumarie was in a new place, dim candle lights, dust everywhere, musty and dank. As you sat up, you felt rather stiff, but at least you can move now.
Then you saw a familiar face.
You swore the older man's glowed in the dark. Though he came by, speaking in a different language. Taking it as a "Be careful" or something along that. He frowned, then pointed at himself, "Regis," and gave a closed lipped smile.
You remembered now, he came with a long name, at least you hoped it's his name. But Regis stuck in your mind. "Regis," you said back with a worn smile. The older man beamed, joyous. He actually left for a bit, but quickly returned with a glass of water. And thank any deity, you needed some water. But he shook his head, "Aumarie, woda."
"Woda," he repeated as he gave you the glass. Understanding he's teaching you words already.
"Woda, you said before chugging the water down, causing the gentleman to chuckle softly. As you finished, and he seemed... Proud. Perhaps it wasn't his first time teaching languages...

A grumble from your stomach came from you once you smelled stew. Man, you don't remember your last meal. And it smelled *so* good. Unfortunately, for you, you'll be in a language lesson as you eat. Though in truth, you didn't mind that much, the old man was sweet. Hard to get mad or Frustrated at Regis.
