“Precure, Floral Power Fortissimo!” Cure Moonlight yelled, staring at the imposing Dark Precure before her. A deep red aura enveloped the villainous Cure, while a radiant purple surrounded Moonlight. This was it, time to face her fear of Dark Precure and save her father.
The two Precure flew up into the sky, clashing against each other violently. Crimson and purple energy radiated off the two magical girls as they struggled to overpower the other. Dark Precure’s golden eyes widened as she realized Moonlight’s power.
“It...can’t be…” She muttered in fear. “How did you grow so strong?!”
Moonlight looked at Dark Precure’s eyes. “Courage, kindness, friendship...I had forgotten how valuable these feelings are. I was a fool. But after meeting Tsubomi, Erika and Itsuki, I remembered.”
A surge of purple energy nearly doubled the size of the purple meteor that was crashing against the scarlet meteor.
“I remembered that I am not a failure. I am allowed to be loved, to have friends...to have a purpose in life!” Moonlight declared, raising her tact forward. Dark Precure screamed in frustration and unleashed as much power she could muster.
“My name is Yuri Tsukikage, and I am no longer afraid of you, Dark Precure!”
With one overwhelming burst of purple energy, Dark Precure’s aura completely disappeared as she looked on toward the sky, unable to move a muscle. Moonlight appeared back on the ground and quietly spun her tact.
“Heart...Catch.”
Time seemed to slow as Dark Precure descended back to the ground. Tsubomi was awestruck by the display of power, but Sabark was weaky trying to catch the falling Cure. However, Moonlight had already leaped into the air and caught her.
“...why...did you catch me…? I was made to destroy you!” Dark Precure yelled at Moonlight. She looked on with gentle eyes. “But is that what you want to do?” Moonlight asked.
This question made Dark Precure pause. Did she want to kill Moonlight? Did it actually matter what she wanted? Wasn’t this why she was born?
“I...it doesn’t matter what I want…” Dark Precure muttered. She could feel the strength draining from her body, but there was a strange warmth to it all. Moonlight shook her head.
“I used to think that way too. But after meeting some wonderful people...I realized failing against you wasn’t the end of my worth. You were made from my DNA, yes? I think that makes us sisters.” Moonlight said, looking down at her sibling.
Dark Precure’s eyes widened at this idea. Was she trying to kill her own sister this entire time? “I think...it does?” She said, unsure of herself.
Yuri gave a weak smile and pulled Dark Precure into a hug. “One of us doesn’t have to die here. We are both people. There is value in both of our lives…” Yuri said, not wanting to use the name Dark Precure. Looking over at her sister’s tear-filled face, Yuri gave another smile.
“...Konoha.”
Dark Precure reeled at being given an actual name. She was about to protest, but a strange feeling of warmth made her reconsider. It felt nice having a name. A human name.
“Thank you, Yuri.” Konoha mumbled, body now glowing a brilliant gold. Moonlight set her body down and turned her attention to her Sabark...her father.
“Daaaad!” Yuri called out, rushing over with tears in her eyes and wrapping the distraught man in a hug. He hugged back, looking down at the ground with regret.
“I am so sorry, Yuri. I thought if I could get more information on the Heart Tree, I could bring people happiness. I don’t deserve to hold you…” He began, but then Moonlight’s hand covered his mouth.
“No. No more wallowing in regret. You’re here, and so am I. And…so is…” When Moonlight looked back, the last parts of Konoha’s body were disappearing into a cloud of gold dust.
“KONOHA!” Moonlight screamed, rushing over to grab her sister’s hand, but only finding empty air. Her outstretched hand grasped in vain for several seconds, unable to comprehend that she had just lost another part of her family.
Walking up next to Moonlight, Blossom kneeled down to be on eye level with her partner. “Hey.” She began. “We are Precure. We’re the ones who give people hope, not despair. Please have hope in yourself, Yuri.” She tried to reassure her with a smile.
Looking over at Blossom, Moonlight wiped the tears out of her eyes, giving a nod of approval. “You...you’re right…” She began. But before she could do anything more, the group could hear clapping coming from overhead.
A tall, lanky green-haired man stood on top of one of the massive pillars nearby. The smug smile he wore gave the impression he enjoyed the events that had just unfolded.
“Well done, Precure!” Dune congratulated. Sabark stepped up and stared daggers into his former master. “DUNE!” He screamed in frustration.
“Oh, don’t you dare blame me for this. You were the one who put on that mask.” Dune dismissed, jumping down off the pillar. He danced a few steps as he approached the group, holding his arms out like a showman.
“I trust you had a nice family reunion? Wait a minute; Yuri, Sabark…” Dune put his hand over his forehead, acting like he was scanning the area. “Where is that fairy and the bat girl? Did you not invite them to the party?” He joked, showing a cheshire cat grin.
Yuri’s hands balled up into a fist, stepping forward to challenge Dune directly. But her arm was grabbed by Tsubomi.
“No! You mustn’t fight him with hatred in your heart! He wants you to suffer, Yuri. Please don’t give in to him…” Tsubomi pleaded, her eyes shining with moisture.
Yuri stared at Tsubomi for a few seconds, thinking about what to do. This man had caused her so much pain. Killing Cologne, kidnapping her father, hurting her friends...he had to pay! But one look at Tsubomi’s pleading face made Yuri pause. She eventually closed her eyes and took a step back. “Thank you, Tsubomi. You continue to call out my selfishness.” Yuri trailed off.
“Not selfishness! You have a right to be angry, but we also have to fight with love in our hearts. Find that love in yourself, Yuri!” Tsubomi said, determination in her eyes. Yuri couldn’t help but shake her head, remembering the shy girl who seemed so helpless just a few months ago.
Stepping forward with renewed determination, the trio of Moonlight, Blossom and Sabark prepared to face the king of wastelands.
“Are we ready now? Good, how about we start this off with a bang?” Dune smirked, holding out his palm and quickly gathering a pulsing red orb of energy, the lightning coming off tearing through the tile below. Sabark’s eyes widened in shock.
“He can gather energy this fast?! Girls, get back!” Rushing forward, Sabark prepared to intercept the ball of energy that would surely vaporize him…
...bit it never came. The energy was stopped by a large yellow construct of a sunflower, while a familiar blue-haired girl was holding Sabark down by his right arm, having just tackled him to the ground. The girl turned to Tsubomi and gave a wink, followed by a thumbs up.
“We made it! Yahoo!” Erika yelled. Tsubomi’s face was lit up with happiness at seeing her two closest friends finally joining them.
“Marine! Sunshine!” She called out with joy. Dune looked between them with interest in his eyes.
“The gang’s all here, huh? Come at me then, Pretty Cure!” Letting out a cackle, Dune leaped into the air and held out both his hands to the sky. A swirling ball of dark red energy began to gather.
“Hahahaha! I’ve been storing this all day! With this energy, I can turn this entire place into dust! Ahahahaha!” Dune laughed to himself. The Precure huddled around and began weighing their options.
Marine was the first to step forward. “What are we waiting for?! Let’s go up and stop him!” She wailed, hands pumping in the air. Moonlight shook her head. “I’m afraid the current’s too strong right now. We wouldn’t get close.” She held her hand up, pointing to a falling boulder that was struck by a bolt of dark red lightning, shattering into a million pieces.
“Well we have to do something. Tsubomi, do you have any ideas?” Sunshine asked, looking up at the frightening display of power before her. The sky appeared to darken more the larger the ball of energy above Dune became.
“I...I don’t know...but we have to give it all we have! We can’t give up now!” Blossom starred up at the challenge before them. While the four of them prepared to use the Mirage as a last ditch effort, they froze when they saw a red crescent-shaped wave of energy rip through the air and slam into Dune, sending him crashing through a nearby pillar.
Moonlight looked up to see a strange figure floating in the air. She was tall and thin like herself, kept in the air with two sparkling white wings. She wore a long red dress with white frills along the sides and bottom, the right side covered with a black crescent moon. Her hair was short and silver, shining in the light like gemstones. But it was the light golden eyes that made Yuri recognize who it was.
“Konoha?!” She screamed upwards. The red Cure looked down and smiled. “Thank you, Yuri. You saved me from my meaningless existence. You were right, we both do have value. And uh-” Konoha scratched her cheek in embarrassment. “-I would like to er, hang out with you after this...sister.” The words still didn’t feel right yet.
By this point, Dune had finally emerged from the rubble, a confused expression on his face. “And just who are YOU supposed to be?!” He asked, pointing a finger at Konoha.
Closing her eyes, Konoha extended her right arm out, her right wing following in sync. “Shrouded in mystery, the rare beauty makes her appearance.” As if planned, the orange planet behind her shone with a red glow along its right side. “Cure Eclipse!”
Marine let out a cheer and looked toward her friends. “Cure Eclipse! And she’s super strong too!” She said with enthusiasm. Blossom smiled and tugged on Moonlight’s sleeve, looking up at her friend.
“See? Precure are the ones who give people hope. You gave Konoha hope for her own future, Yuri.” Blossom beamed with happiness. Yuri was almost crying at seeing her sister back to life.
Floating up to where Cure Eclipse was hovering, the 5 Cures nodded toward each other and wordlessly drew their tacts.
“Blossom Tact!”
“Marine Tact!”
“Shiny Tamborine!”
“Moon Tact!”
“Eclipse Tact!”

Standing over the hillside overlooking town, three girls stood in a line, hands on their hips and each with a satisfied look on their faces. A blue-haired girl in the middle spoke first.
“We’ve done the impossible! This world shines so bright, and it’s all thanks to us!” The girl blew air out of her nose and sucked in a mouthful of air after it. “These 14-year-old beauties have saved the world!”
“Beauties have saved the world!” Tsubomi and Itsuki repeated after Erika. Yuri and Konoha stood off to the side, Yuri staring at the ground while Konoha was looking at the speech with a mixture of wonder and embarrassment.
“Yoooooooosh! We’ve saved the world! We did it, Tsubomi!” Erika cheered as she clasped her hands around Tsubomi’s. Tsubomi looked excitedly back at Erika.
“I can’t believe it! We became the Infinite Precure and beat Dune!”
“Right right?!” Erika commented.
Itsuki walked over and placed her hands on the two’s shoulders. “I’m proud of both of you! And you two as well!” She waved toward Yuri and Konoha. The two sisters looked at each other, unsure of what to say.
“Um, it’s nice to see you like this.” Yuri said, pointing to her sister’s civilian appearance. She had short purple hair the same color as Yuri’s, and wore a blue dress she borrowed from her sister’s wardrobe. On her head she wore a large white sun hat, discovering that her face can now be sunburnt.
“Y-you like it? I’m surprised it fits.” Konoha lightly pulled at the dress. Yuri opened her eyes and nodded her head.
“But of course. You were born from my DNA, so you’re nearly a twin.” She stated. Konoha nervously nodded in response.
“I guess that does make sense. Uh, thanks again for well, this.” Reaching into her dress, Konoha produced a small red disc. Yuri responded by pulling out a purple disc the same size as the red one.
“It was all your own doing. When you were reincarnated, that shard of my heart seed turned into yours, and mine was completed once more. No need to thank me.” Yuri explained.
Konoha stared at the two discs for a few seconds, reflecting on her time as Dark Precure. Could she actually begin life as a normal human? Would she fit into society? Her thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of a man calling out to them. Turning around, the group saw Yuri and Konoha’s parents walking along the path, smiling at everyone as they stopped.
“Hello there!” He called out. Both sisters rushed over to meet their parents.
“What are you two doing here?” Yuri asked, confused.
“Just catching up after all this time. Your mother was worried sick, so I’m doing everything I can to make it up to you girls. I hope you’ll forgive me…” The father began.
Yuri folded her arms across her chest and shook her head. “I thought I said that tone was forbidden. This is a new chapter in our lives, and you should act like it.” Turning to the right, Yuri gave Konoha a nod. “Isn’t that right, Konoha?”
Blushing, Konoha enthusiastically nodded her head. “O-of course! No problems here!” She stammered. The family enjoyed a few more minutes of catching up before everyone decided to go home.
On the way back, Yuri and Konoha ran into a beautiful blue-haired girl that appeared to be the same age as Yuri. Konoha couldn’t help but hang back and put Yuri between the two for safety, making Yuri chuckle a little. Having a little sister was so cute.
“Oh, Yuri! Who’s this?” Momoka Kurumi asked, leaning over to look around Yuri’s frame at the girl behind her.
“M-my name is Konoha Tsukikage. I’m Yuri’s little sister. N-nice to meet you.” Konoha began.
Momoka couldn’t help but giggle at the display, holding her hand in front of her mouth to try and cover it. “It’s nice to meet you too, Konoha! I’m Momoka Kurumi, Yuri’s friend. You never told me you had a sister, you jerk.” Momoka looked at Yuri suspiciously.
“I’ll explain later, if that’s alright.” Yuri answered, not wanting to detail all that’s happened leading up to this point. Momoka clapped her hands together and motioned toward the two of them.
“Well, I think it’s only right I take you both out somewhere nice. I’d love to get to know Yuri’s little sister.” Momoka said, giving Konoha a smile that seemed to relax her a little more.
“I would uh, like that. Yuri?” Konoha asked. She looked between the two of them, and silently nodded her head. Momoka clapped her hands once more.
“Wonderful! Come on, I have so many stories to tell you about my girlfriend here! Did you know Yuri is still scared of monsters coming out of her closet?” Momoka teased, leaning over and quickly kissing Yuri on the cheek.
“G-girlfriend?!” Konoha tried to clarify.
“Momoka! This isn’t appropriate right now!” Yuri protested, holding her cheek and chasing after the blue-haired girl as she skipped down the path. Konoha stood by, watching the two slowly disappear down the path. A smile spread across her face as she took a step toward catching up. Maybe this would work out after all.
