Oh hey! Look! :D

Okay so I have a, like, routine when I do these kinds of fanart/art books (this is actually my 2nd but shhhhh)

I post 3 artworks, explain what I did and stuff or something, and that’s...it

Yeah there isn’t much to say, either. I’m blanking as I write this lmao xDD

I drew this on 10/19 (october 19, obviously x3), technically just yesterday when I published this and uhh, nothing much to say, either. The white sleeves were accidental, btw! When I was messing with the wand and hue, and I liked it

This is my interpretation of Techno <3 I wanted to royal mantle to look very...well, royal-y, especially his top :D

I had the half-mind to give him full bangs but a glimpse at forehead is great <))

(i’ve, uh, only started writing since 2017, i’ll gracefully mention, so, i only had fanfics as my teachers to improve my writing, lol. i didn’t even want to be a writer in the first place but then here we are xD

i drew since i was literally a baby so yes i can draw i swear i’m trying to improve eeeeeep-)

Erm, this is mostly a repost tho, of the other fanarts in the oneshot book—but whatever whatevs! xD

I’ll just slap it in one place, aka here, and talk about it I guess?

Have to admit, I...don’t know how to draw “b o i s”. I drew a few but I’m not that confident on it compared to girls, sooo I just yolo’d this and hoped it didn’t look bad with my new art style lol

But hey, writing the high school au was fun! :D

Could’ve done better, but writing actual romance is...huh, a very different feeling since I’ve only been doing platonic fics for the past year ‘til now :3

(2017-18 was a weird year for me, obviously cuz that’s my fetus days of writing, but at least mid2018 was the start of developing my writing style owo...and the downfall of keeping my word count around 5-7k hahahaaa)

Ahhh, the modern au fic.

I have mixed feelings with this piece becuuuuz I still haven’t practiced background. Which is a disgrace considering my dad is an architect—but to be fair! He can’t draw people like me, soooo eyyy ;D

Oh yeah I went overboard with the coloring and shading. Just cuz, well, I haven’t drawn anything seriously before this piece

So far, the servant au is my favorite oneshot I’ve written. Well, it’s no.2 cuz the a/b/o is first for the reason I really felt challenged when writing the world and the dynamics (and heavily keepin’ it T rated at best lmaooo xD)

It’s also the longest, but I already know I’ll write a request that might surpass 17k words (i’m guessing by word count the servant au is around 17k words total xd)

I have...like, 3 requests that have the potential to be a 2-3 parter, and I can’t wait to write those :D

This friggin’ fanart took me nearly a whole day (sorta around 12 hrs?) if I combined the time I used to draw this. Probably the longest I’ve done so far for a drawing :0 (prev record was 9 hrs)

Let’s see... There were a total of 25+ layers, majority being clipped layers, a lot of usage of the blur tool, too many layers of decreasing the opacity...

What? Don’t know what the clipping layer is, my fellow artists?

Then get gud, nerd >:p

(it’s pretty much an option to clip a layer on top of a layer that has stuff in it. you can only draw over that layer, almost like a lock in a way. what’s a lock, bruuuuuuuh. artist talk here lmaoo xD)

Oh! I had to stalk through mermaid tail designs as well! ><

And if it wasn’t obvious, I purposely made Dream beautiful as heck because yes he’s a prince poooooog!!

Oh yeah I never drew shirtless bois before, or any muscles whatsoever, so my inexperience with the male anatomy is OBVIOUS ㅠㅠ

To be fair, I’ve drawn more females the past 8 years I’ve been drawing anime-esque style so-

Eh, the reason is simple: I’m busy tryin’ to reach a deadline with a buncha projects (F for respects pls) so I'm kinda stressed, and about the 2nd part of the Mermaid AU—I wanna take my time writing it :>

My ver of their relationship, if I ever try to write about them, is that DreamXD is ofc an op af God who'd care less about the overworld but has to keep the balance but then the world glitched without him knowing and created Dream, who was supposed to be a fellow God but ended up being half-admin, therefore is DreamXD's half little brother. XD didn't want to interact with Dream when he first met him in a crappy village but couldn't help and lurk and watch over him when making the connection that Dream looked like a close replica of him, and the fact that he could see that Dream's a glitch (the world lowkey wanted to give XD a brother regardless lmfao)

XD is an emotionless mf you guys. But after seeing Dream getting beaten up one, ofc he feels a flare of anger and protectiveness surge inside him and saves Dream. Dream (who was like,, 8 or younger when first meeting XD) immediately latched onto the god. XD had to admit defeat and took Dream in, and soon telling Dream that they're brothers. Not half-brothers because XD is also one possessive mf, he rarely gets attached so when he does- reference to the last page of the comic if someone dared to hurt Dream :D

Someone's ass is gonna get whooped-

Big brother XD really loves his baby brother UwU (and the fact that XD's an immortal being so he lived so many centuries alone- until the world decided to dump him a younger sibling he didn't ask for but unknowingly needed in his life *wink wink*) and Dream freaking adores XD. He wants to be a powerful admin like his big brother like- 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Oh yeah and the promise DreamXD said- he vowed to literally hurt anyone who hurt Dream, regardless if his brother won't tell him who the culprit is. Sooo a promise is long overdue :D And he just wants Dream to be happy and live a better, happier life and not follow his footsteps as a heartless God. XD wants to protect Dream at all cost but his job as a protector won't let him :(((

Long story short, Dream had the Dream Team + Dream family, XD ofc never talked to them in person but trusted them with his baby brother, but then years later DSMP happened and oof- :P

Oh yeah and in my au Dream never gaslighted Tommy bc no. Idk canon, I see brother dynamics all over that's been broken because of greed and power (plus Dream's an admin and it's his world so- i like that hc a lot lol

Eyyyyyyy guys tutorial is finally here!

Not like it took almost 2 months to actually make it akghjfkahfjskdja

SORRY I JUST GOT STUCK ON HOW TO DO IT PLUS WHO SHOULD I EVEN DRAW OvO;;;

Anyways-

I,,, tried my best to uhh, explain so. This kind of coloring basically applies to any program or app you use since I don’t really make my own brushes and stuff. I keep it simple for myself so it doesn’t take up time lmao xDD

It’s why most of my fanarts take like,,, 2-4hours mostly (4hrs if both dnb in the same canvas + pose).

If some of you have Procreate, then this will most deffo be easy for you to follow :3

Seriously tho, my techniques to color and stuff is really really simple, not complicated or uhhh, like how expert artists do it (god i envy them but i have 0 patience to watch them for 2hrs noooooooooo-)

Okay so you just,,, sketch. And here, I. Am using. My persona Uwu

Yes dis me. Actually it’s like an altered version of my minecraft skin back in 2016, I just recreated it (yes, i made this a skin) with a Dream hoodie because yes I have his hoodie and yes I’m clearly a simp :P

But the hairstyle is legit. As in- that’s my irl hairstyle lololol

I usually do rough sketches for the pose,,, and then clean it slightly in another layer. Uhhh, the sketching brush is really up to you, in procreate I love the shale brush a lot (it’s not even for sketching, it’s for inking LMAO). If you’re using the shale brush, uhhh lessen the streamline. That’s it

Other than that, it’s,,, just a sketch 🤷♀️ 

Any pencil-like brush is just reeeeaally nice to look at as a sketch okay ashdjasjfksd blame traditional

ADD ANOTHER LAYER FOR OUTLINEEEEE

Aight now for the lineart- find like,, a normal brush pen(?) but have the edges sharp. Ya know? If you know you know. You don’t have to do this but if you want, make the size veeeeeeery small and thin. Because aesthetic B)

Also my secret to drawing hair

Is make squiggly lines that looks like it makes sense

Oh yeah, my lineart is never perfect. It’s literally the same way I do my sketch work but not too messy bc of the thin brush for the lineart.

Eyelashes are highkey my fav part to draw Uwu

And then you outline everything else. Shrug

Idk, this is optional but I like to color the background not white so I can see what I’m coloring lol

But like,, choose a color that won’t,,, you know,,, blend in too much with the base color of your drawing or else ya blind >:p

First layer underneath the outline, at least how I do it but pretty sure it’s common—color the skin first Uwu

Next layer, clothesss (unless it’s a clothes design with different colors, don’t be afraid to add more layers. it exists for a reason lmao)

And anything else that doesn’t touch the clothes lol, bc I’m lazy to add too much layers and you’ll see why xD

Depending on how you draw ur lineart, DON’T USE A BUCKET YOU WEIRDO >:P

Be a pro and manually outline and THEN fill it B))

Yayyyy, time for the coloring part! What you’ve all been waiting forrrrrr 

Aight so how I do it, just Alpha Lock or Lock all layers. So that you don’t color outside of the,, part you already colored

Idk what I’m saying but just go with it xD

Soo, hide the other color layers to start with the first colored layer. Make sure you have the base colors in your palette or smth

And now use a bucket to color the entire thing white :D

Reason why is because,,, well, the coloring is based on a watercolor-like coloring (lol)

You can use any kind of watercolor brush I guess. Just lightly color back the skin color. Or if you don’t have like,,,, a pen pressure, you can lower the opacity

Make sure it’s lighter than the normal base color :3

Idk, to give it a watercolor texture or smth lmao xDDD

And best if you recolor the base color in a large size for the brush. Obvs to make it easier to fill lolol

Yeahhh, just go to the color wheel or whatever you call it and go a little darker and redder than the base color. For shading ofc ;)

But first, I used an airbrush to lightly shade from bottom to top. Just to add more,,, dynamic maybe. For shadows and lighting and stuff 🤷♀️ 

Go a little darker again for the actual shading, but not too dark in contrast to the current color of the skin

...And then you shade where the shadow would be :P

If you know your shadow and lighting dynamics, like which direction the light is therefore shadows exists, then you probs don’t have a problem with this x)

(the colors in the left are the main palettes of the entire drawing...aka my persona *wheeze*)

You can go another shade darker and redder (never black btw. if you want them aesthetics ;3)

Just shade a bit more to add uhhh, idk more shadows or smth. Idk what you call it ^^;

I forgot two screenshots here bc it got lost, but long story short- add another layer and find a Clipping option and set the layer mode to Multiply

This is how I add the blush and lip color :3

Ofc, use an airbrush for the blush ^^ 

Not too much or your skin is a potato or smth

Same layer, I add blush lines using the same lineart brush :3

Add lip color or lipstick to if you want. I gave my persona pink lipstick lol ^^

It looks cute okay-

Don’t judge me-

Basically you do the same process with every colored layer. Make sure they’re locked, color them white, then lightly recolor the base color with the watercolor brush :3

For clothes- well, technically the same thing. But for the white hoodie- ofc, after shading from bottom to top with an airbrush- I only use one shading color for anything that’s white. I just control the pen pressure (if no pen pressure, lower the opacity :3) for the shading 

Just shade the folds and everything else I guess :P

Shade a bit more but not too dark ^^

Ofc I have my own way of actually shading but like,, in general this is how I color. Pretty sure it can be applied anywhere :D

Same thing with the eyes ^^

Add darker shadows bc duh, make it look pretty 👁👁

I mean the hair-

God the hair is the most hardest to me asdjashfjbknsaf

Color it white, recolor with the watercolor brush like usual, you know the drill ^^

Don’t forget to airbrush from bottom to top :3

And then you just,,, shade the hair :P

I can’t explain how I specifically shade the hair doe bc jhasdasdkad idk how lol. Just shade wherever the shadow will form lol

Technically, that’s it. BUT this is my persona I’m drawing as an example, and I’m sure you’ve seen the highlights ;)

Basically I added two layers and put them on clipping mode. The first clipped layer is on Overlay mode (hence the letter O)

And then I simply used an airbrush to color opposite sides with bright pink and blue (cyan mostly) and watch it overlay the purple Uwu

Some orange/yellow too lol. I’m only explaining this bc it’s my persona xDD I can’t forget the hair color (and ears and tail)

This one is the last step for the hair color btw. It’s optional too :3

Just eyedrop the skin color of your drawing

And then lightly color the area near the face. I think. Idk how to explain it but you can see it xDD

I lightly erase the eyelashes and eyebrow area bc you practically can’t see it *-*

And then recolor it again veeeery lightly

For the ✨a e s t h e t i c s✨

AND THEN THE FUN PART-

MERGE ALL THE COLORED LAYERS MUAHAHAHAHHAA-

I’m kidding- you can just duplicate the layers and then merge them if you wanna keep the base set :P

So I go to color balance (press layer ofc) an just played with the color dynamics. This is also optional but I came across this on accident last year lmao xD

Like I said, I’m not a pro nor do I look at long, professional tutorials like on Patreon or Skillshare

Sorry, but not all of us have money to pay and agsjkjddasfas-

I mean I can ask my dad to pay for me (it’s,,, not too expensive) but hhhhh I’m too lazy to watch tutorials these days. Only if I’m feeling desperate to improve or smth :P

And I got my hands full with writing and drawing dnb already lmao xD

If you’re stuck on how to color the outline layer- just lock it again and manually color it with a big brush :3

I mean,, it’s only a pencil for sketch, a veeeery thin brush for lineart, an airbrush, and a watercolor brush

He probs is the most exasperated brother, too, who puts up with Dream's reckless antics a lot compared to Sam and Punz (bc those two are simps and therefore weak af, they can never say no to dream-)

He can't say no ofc, he's also a weak mfer, but like,,, still tries to show his concern and stuff and gives Dream an awkward pat on the head while Dream would just tack him for a grateful hug

And bc Dee is so socially awkward and constipated, Dream makes it his job to always show physical affection like a kiss on the cheek or a bigggg tight hug and the poor god just malfunctions and doesn't even know what to do other than pat his head in return. Dream is very endeared <3
