Families of Amity Park,
We hope you are doing well in these trying times.
Given the social distance mandate during the covid-19 pandemic,
Casper High has switched to a virtual learning model.
Some exceptions may be made for in person labs, but these will be done on
a case by case situatoin - such as once a week,
or alternating schedules to accomadate social distance parameters - please contact your individual teachers where applicable
We will conduct virtual labs where possible.
Unfortunately, we will have to cancel extracurricular activities and practices that are held in person.
The safety and health of our students and families come first.
For social distanced learning, students will be issued with
school provided laptops which can be shipped or picked up via the curbside.
These are optional if the student feels
their personal equipment is adaquate enough.
Once you have your computer, make sure your video camera is functional, and please download Zoom.
We will be using Zoom to conduct live lectures, and in class discussions.

these unprecedented times.

But he thought she was strong enough and worth teaming up with, so she would take advantage of that.
She should let the two ghosts weaken each other and then finish them both off. Yeah.

Fresh food was hard to come by in Amity Park - ghost guards patrolled the streets and guarded grocery stores.
The shield around town, erected by the government, prevented the ghosts from escaping, but also left the humans trapped inside to fend for themselves.
Nobody knew who The Red Huntress was, exactly - some guessed she was a government agent or spy from outside the barrier - but she always came to the human hideouts with smuggled food and water. It was thanks to her that the human resistance inside the barrier still survived. No doubt, King Phantom would try to turn her into a ghost to recruit her for his army, but she would never.

Summary:
The government agents Guys in White finally succeeded in catching Danny Phantom. They need to know what the ghost boy is made of, and decide to look inside.

The agent decided he'd wasted enough time, and plunged the scalpel into the ghost's body. He tuned out all noises that the ghost boy made as he moved the knife into a Y shape across the chest.

Ah yes, halfa physiology is so unique that it puts them at a risk for this plague in a way that no other human or ghost faces.
It's quite interesting when you read about it. Halfa physiology is truly more complex than the sum of its parts!
The longevity of viral structures in ectoplasm, and their effect on various immune systems

Abstract
An influx of previously alive persons and other organic mammals appear within the ghost zone ecosystem in surplus every
few hundred years. While ghosts are immune to bacterial and viral infections, they can - in rare cases -
be carriers of the disease and infect other living beings. We believe the current plague in the non ectoplasmic
realm to be one that can maintain its structure in ectoplasm for long periods of time. This poses a risk to any mammal
that gets ectoplasm into the blood stream - notably, halfas. This study aims to compile known information and provide
the structure and efficacy of a "vaccine" - one that imitates the mechanism of the human equivalent that targets the
very same virus. It is our belief that the proposed vaccine can be administered to any organism that qualifies as a
halfa with little to no risk. Subsequent research on this virus must accelerate, to prevent the virus from proliferating
and potentially evolving to harm ectoplasmic beings.
Research
Samples and information about the current human vaccine indicate that the vaccine is an "mRNA vaccine" - while this has
proven effective to killing the virus within organic cells, it will not work as a vaccine when bathed in ectoplasm.
It is theorized that because ectoplasm is a substance that is at a lower ambient temperature most organic mammals,
it can maintain its structure within ectoplasm almost indefinitely. It is worth noted that in this form, the virus is
incredibly difficult to transmit - only affecting another when in contact with the blood stream for long periods of time.
Regular humans have almost zero contact with ectoplasmic substances in their entire lifetime, but halfas are at a higher
risk. The authors believe that halfas should be prioritized for vaccination, before inoculating the remaining population
of the ghost zone. It is entirely possible that fully ectoplasmic beings have zero need for this vaccine, but administering
the vaccine can prevent this vaccine from
incorporating ectoplasm into its outer shell and later targeting non ectoplasmic beings as well.
One proposal is to intravenously administer a small dose of virus "heat killed" within ectoplasm. The "death echo" of the virus's death is intended to
imprint on the host's ectoplasmic immune system and nervous system the ability recognize the virus as an active threat. This proposed model
takes its form from most human vaccines, which inoculate their hosts against deadly diseases using similar mechanisms.
Limited clinical trials and computational models have shown that a side effect is a slightly elevated core temperature, which can be treated by with external coolants,
or self regulated if the host possesses an ice core.
It is not anticipated that the virus will give anyone "new" ectoplasmic abilities, either within or outside of the ghost zone - however much the authors or audience wish otherwise.
The expected side effect is expected to start 12 hours after administering the dose, and last up to 24-48 hours. We propose 2 doses, to mirror the human mRNA vaccine.
However, if a particular ectoplasmic being or halfa has unique physical health conditions, the number of doses, and the amount per dose,
can be changed to match their physiology. Exceptions for the standard 2 dose proposal are listed in the following section.
Longitudinal studies are in limited capacity but can be conducted with the permission of Clockwork.

So ghosts never get sick! And they can't transmit viral diseases either!
Exactly! But when the virus from this plague interacts with ectoplasm, you get some very interesting behavior - it maintains its form, as if in stasis.
It cannot use ectoplasm to replicate itself, like it would in a host body, but it does not harm the ectoplasmic being either.
But, if it's a shcroddingers virus, it wont do anything when its ‘dead’ right?
In a full ghost, yes, that would be the case - but you two are halfas. Your human and ghost forms share the same resources. Resources are exchanged between your forms every time you use your ghost powers, or you transform.
So if you’re a carrier of the virus, it's entirely possible that virus lies dormant in your ectoplasm.
In other words: Every time you use your powers, you risk the virus entering - or re-entering - your human blood stream. Again and again.

You know how if you get chicken pox as a kid, you'll get shingles 20 years later or something?
It's kinda like that, but for halfas - ghost shingles.

The way this trick is done is by sticking the egg in through a secret hole on the side of the bottle. Big enough for the egg, but small enough for the audience to miss.

Observations and notes taken while attempting to create a sentient and self sustainable half ghost clone by Vlad Masters

Attempt 1:
Created a ghost duplicate using my powers, and ordered the duplicate to shapeshift into the a young Danny Fenton
Duplicate failed to shape shift. Refused to shapeshift.
Of course part of me refused to submit myself for myself
How can a clone-son love me if even I can't love me?
Attempt 2:
Created a ghostly duplicate with much less physical and mental capabilities than before
Its ability to hold my thoughts, values, and memories were questionable.
It's obvious that it has an inferior version of my powers instead of his.
It's too similar to me. Is this self-cest?
I need a blank slate
Attempt 3:
acquired Fenton dna from hair strands off a comb.
amplified and sequenced the dna using PCR
replaced the dna of the HeLa cells with the sequenced Fenton dna (via CRISPr) and allowed the cells to grow
cell line shortly died.
Attempt 4:
bathed the dna sample in ectoplasm before PCR
dna seemingly more stable. HeLa cell line still died
Attempt 5:
Attempted to reanimate dead HeLa cell line with an ectoshock
Cells began to divide and proliferate.
Injected dividing cells into a blob ghost.
Cell line proliferated.
Created several "ghosts"
Varying levels of self sufficiency, power, stability
Well they make for good minions. Reduces the mental load
Attempt ???:
Purchased embryonic stem cells using VladCo funds.
Overshadowing would have been too suspicious during the acquisition.
Memory gaps in the the overshadowed victims would have immediately raised the alarm for ghost activity and made future acquisitions difficult.
Managed to create 1 stable half ghost embryo using the sequenced dna
Should get more embryonic stem cells for future studies preferably from when Maddie was pregnant, if it exists.
Artificially accelerated the half ghost embryo to adolescent development.
Organism shows differentiation into a female - a closer look at the sequenced dna shows incomplete sequences and environmental impurities
Need to acquire a purer dna sample, preferably from spit or snot.
His ghost sense will know I'm coming from a mile away perhaps possible to sneak in when he's gone, with strategically placed Fenton spy feed.
DNA analysis of Elle Fenton - performed by Jack and Madeline Fenton
Danny provided us with a partially redacted document written by the person responsible for creating Elle.
We don't know who (a human? a ghost?) created Elle or why, but we have some idea how.
Any scientist worth their salt would know that using anything less than Pluripotent Stem Cells would not differentiate into a fully formed organism.
Of course, this scientist must have broken a lot of ethical (and legal) laws to acquire
any amount of Pluripotent Stem cells so they must already have a few screws loose.
They're also incredibly unorganized in their note taking process.
Similar to the described methods, we amplified and sequenced Elle's DNA using PCR.
We did the same for Danny and Jazz's DNA as well, for a baseline to compare against.

On average, full siblings possess 50% of their genes with each other. Of course, more than and less than 50% genetic similarity is possible
(in the case of identical twins, 100% of their genes are similar). While Elle's DNA is an incomplete copy of Danny's genes,
she has more genetic similarity to Jazz than Danny does. This indicates that the DNA sample she originated from was most likely impure
- we share combs in this house and the hair could have easily been from 2 or more people.
It is also possible that the self healing nature of Ectoplasm healed her at the molecular level,
filling in her missing base sequences before she was even born and allowing her to be a biological stable person.
There is a lot we do not know about ectophysiology and how Elle's own physiology affects her growth and development,
but we will continue to monitor and document for future reference.
However Elle came to be, we are glad she came into our lives.

With the social distance mandate becoming more relaxed and vaccines becoming more available,
all schools in Amity Park will start the upcoming school year with a hybrid learning model, alaternating between in person and online attendance.

2. type the password 'iLov3Maddie' to view the Documents folder

- once again thank you so much to jihnari for letting me bat ideas and technical details back and forth with you! im not sure the file browser would exist in this form if not for our brainstorming.
- i may attempt tutorials some day but in the mean time ive dumped this whole fic onto github, which means theoretically what ive done should be replicable by anyone. understandable? who knows.

- its crazy to think how much the gimmicks (and 'plot') for this fic evolved from when it first started to where it is now. wow. i might go take a nap.
