"It's getting tiresome having the both of you in my office." Principal Dolores said, pinching bridge of her nose. "Again."

"It's not my fault, Principal D! Brad's started it as always." Jake defends, crossing his arms against his small chest.

"It's your fault for causing the mess, somehow." Brad said, slouching in the chair.

"I don't care who's fault it is! You're both responsible for the destruction in the cafeteria. So as punishment you two will stay after school and clean up the damage."

"C'mon, Ms.D! I can't stay after I have drag..." Jake stopped in his track, catching his breath. "Important things to do."

"And I have football practice! If I'm not there, coach gonna chew me up."

"That's enough!" Dolores slammed her hand on the desk, the boys flinch. "You both should have thought of that before this whole mess started."

The final bell rang, and Dolores sighed in relief.

"This conversation is over now. Get to class. And I don't wanna see you two here again, or that'll be a day of suspension." Raising from their seat, the two teens walked out the office into the halls, heading back to class.

'Great... stuck after school with Brad alone is just how I wanted to spend my evening.' Jake thought sarcastically. He glances towards the jock who seems deep in thought with a curt blush showing on his face. Jake wondered what he could be thinking about to show that kind of face.

"Yo Jakey!" Trixie shouted down the hall, waving her hand, waiting at his locker.

"Comin!" He called out before turning towards the blonde jock. "Look, Brad, you don't wanna stay late no more than I do. So let's just get the mess clean fast without trying to kill each other."

"Yeah, sure... I just wanna get it over with." Brad said, stuffing his hands in his pocket.

"For once, I think we agree." Jake chuckled.

Brad scoffed as he turned his head, hiding away the small blush forming deeper on his cheeks. The jock walk forward to class without a word, Jake cock an eyebrow.

During his fourth period Brad sat there, frowning at the board he was going crazy inside, thinking about the prevent event and how at the moment he almost did something he dreamt of doing from time now.

Earlier today...

"My lucky day, I got the last slice pizza this must be my lucky day." Jake grinned with excitement, he step out of line and join his friend at their table.

"Uh, Jakie. Don't you think you should be using this time to study over Rotwood test?" Trixie said.

"Relax Trix, I protect magical creatures all the time. I'm sure I know more than Rotwood." Jake said sounding so confident as he was about to take his first bite.

"For me? You shouldn't have." Brad said quickly sneaking the pizza slice out the young dragon grasp. Jake looked up at the blonde jock with a mixture confusion and anger.

"Aye! Give it back Brad!" Jake demanded, standing from his seat.

"Or what? Your gonna cry, like a baby." Brad teased, being to eat the pizza he stolen as he walk away.

"I don't know how anyone can be so noxious." Trixie said with a hint of annoys in her tone.

Jake didn't pay attention, he growled with such anger, without hesitation the asian teen used his dragon tail, grabbing a hold onto the jock ankle. Brad fell forward into a few other students, knocking everyone's food around, Jake gasped realizing what he had did, he retrieve his tail.

"That's it!" Brad growled, getting back on his feet he turn towards Jake wiping food stains off his face. "Your dead loser!" The jock storm towards Jake, grabbing him by the collar lifting him slightly off the floor.

Everyone gather around them and started chanting 'fight, fight, fight!' Brad raised his fist, he hesitant, he didn't really want to hit Jake.

Brad hold his fist back in the air and just stared at the smaller teen, staring at his honey brown eyes. Noticing how beautiful they were up close, Brad swallow hard, bitting on his lower lip when a faint blush crept across his face, He frowned narrowing his eyes, fighting the strong urge not to kiss the young dragon.

Jake's heart sped up with fear, but he wondered why Brad hadn't struck him yet. Everybody stared at the two boys, making the jock more tense. Before things got really crazy principal Dolores wheeled herself into the cafeteria, hearing all the commotion. In shocked by the messed and the violet action being held. The students fade away, leaving Jake and Brad in the middle.

"You two! In my office now!" Principal Dolores ordered them, pointing outside the cafeteria doors.

"Look what you did now, loser." Brad said annoyed, he dropped Jake on the floor, walking out the cafeteria. He was secretly glad the principal came in. Jake got up and dusted himself off before following along the jock.

"Come on Fu, just come up with an excuse..." Jake pleaded over the phone. He peeked around the corner, watching the blonde jock mopping the floor. "I got bigger problems to deal with."

"I dunno kid. You know I hate getting between you and Gramps." Fu sighed.

"If you do this for me, then I'll keep my mouth shut to Gramps, on how his brand new 'expensive' computer caught a mysterious virus." Jake had a smug smirk on his face, hearing the sound of Fu Dog swallow hard.

"Alright, alright! I know when I'm lick."

"Thanks, Fu." Jake hung the phone after that. He sighed heavily and walked back in, grabbing a wash cloth, whipping off a few tables.

They were completely silent during that time. Jake started to think if he should apologize. It was his action that got them both stuck here. Brad started the whole thing to begin with, so why should Jake apologize first?

Jake sighed, "I'm gonna hate myself later.." He knew the jock wouldn't apologize first or even apologize. He turned towards the older teen, who again looked to be deep in thought, Jake took a deep breath and slowly approached him.

'I can't take it much longer, I gotta tell him... I wanna tell him.' Brad thought, he stopped mopping, leaning his forehead against the tip of the mop stick. 'What if he laughs at me? Freak out, reject me or tell the whole school... I'm going insane how long can I keep these feelings?!'

"Brad?"

Brad head jolts up and turns around quickly. "What!" He barked, instantly regretting it.

Jake stepped back a bit, he frowned. "Look, Brad, I'm truly ashamed of my thoughtless dangerous and immature action and..." Jake looked away. "I'm sorry."

"Y-Yeah, it's cool... I mean, I'm sorry, too." Brad trailed off. He looked away also. "If I didn't steal your lunch, we wouldn't be here now." He ran a hand through his blonde hair.

Jake blinked up at him. He didn't expect this. He had never known the jock to be sincere before, especially towards him.

Brad held out his hand. "So, are we cool now?" He asked, slightly smiling.

Jake looked up in surprise. 'Why is he being so nice all of a sudden? This is way too weird for me. But, I... kind of like the feeling.' He thought. 'Maybe, deep down in that immature jerk heart of Brad's, there's a nice person, chained up just trying to escape.'

"Are you gonna take my hand or keep staring at me? Cause it ticking me off." Brad sharp tone brought Jake out of his thoughts.

'Then again, maybe it's just all in my head.' The dragon teen thought. He took Brad's hand, and there was a spark that tingle Jake's hand. He looked back up, getting caught in Brad's icy blue eyes, he's heart skip a beat. 'What was that?'

Jake brushed the feeling off as they shook hands. Decided to call their rivalry a truce the boys got back to cleaning. Brad was glad he can maybe start a friendship with asian teen and hopes maybe be more than friends, but that's just a wistful thinking. Something like that will never happen to him, Jake has a thing for the ladies while He has a soft spot for only asian boy.

"Okay! This place looks better than it did before." Jake said, putting the cleaning supplies in the janitors closet. "Let's call it a day and go home now."

"I can give you a ride." Brad offered hopeful he didn't say too desperate.

"That's cool of ya." Jake smiled, swinging his backbag onto his shoulder. "But no thanks, I have a faster way home. I'll see ya tomorrow." He said, walking toward the exit.

Brad bit his bottom lip, he grabbed his own bag, and ran after the small boy. He couldn't let his only chance get away from him. When he caught up, he reached out to grab Jake, only to trip on his shoe laces. There was a slow-motion moment. Brad fell forward once again, and Jake turned around, unaware until they collided to the floor.

Brad scratched at his head, "Ouch! that hurt..." He opened his eyes, noticing his was on top of Jake, who was rubbing the back of his own head. The jock blushed heavily. "S-Sorry! Are you alright?"

"I-I'm fine, but you are kind of heavy." Jake answered, averting eye contact blushing.

Brad stared at his blushing face, making his heart skip off beats. He cleared his throat and got off the other boy, "S-So how about that ride home?"

Jake sat up, sighing. "I'm not gonna regret it, am I?" He question, still fighting the blush.

"N-No! I-I promise."

They left out the school build, getting into Brad's blue truck. Once they were on the road, they remained silent the entire time. Jake stared out the window, watching the sun setting. He soon lost himself in his thoughts. That weird feeling he got when he touch the blonde jock hand and when he stared into his icy blue eyes, why did it make his heart beat faster?

"So, Brad. What's with the sudden niceness towards me?" Jake asked.

"I guess I'm getting tired of being a jerk." He shrugged, which wasn't the complete truth. As he pulled up to Jake's house.

"Well, I like the nice side of you so far." Jake grinned, unfasten his seat belt. "Thanks for the ride." He opened the passenger door. Brad watched him. He knew he had to do this sooner or later, so he took his chances now.

"H-Hey... wait." He called out, Jake stopped halfway and looked towards him.

"What up?"

"Can I kiss you?"

"Say whaa!?" Jake exclaimed, his face turning red.

"I-I asked if I can k-kiss you." Brad repeats himself, sounding confidence as he heavily blushes. He leaned forward towards Jake.

"D-dude! What's gotta into yo--" Jake was interrupted by a pair of lips against his own. Jake completely lost all sense in his body. He was being kissed by another boy, by Brad no less.

Yet he couldn't find the strength to push the jock off him. Soon, Jake found his eyelids slowly closing as he melted into the kiss. Brad deepened the kiss, allowing his tongue to explore the dragon's mouth, which Jake let happen as he let out a faint moan. Brad pulled away, and Jake opened his eyes, both breathing heavily as Brad stared nervously at him, waiting for a smaller boy to react.

Jake finally looks at him, his eyes showing fear as if he was about to tear up. Without a word, the young dragon grabbed his bag and got the truck running inside the house.

"Hey Jake!" Haley greeted her older brother when he entered the house. He didn't respond as he

ran upstairs so fast to even acknowledge she was there. In his room, Jake laid on his bed flat on his stomach, hugging the pillow tightly while his face was slightly buried into the pillow. His lips still tingled from the kiss.

"Did that really just happen?" Jake questioned himself.

Meanwhile, Brad laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling. His arms folded behind his head, completely bereft. He finally did what he dreamt of doing, but now he felt like he made a huge mistake.

He groaned angrily. 'Great... Now he's gonna hate me even more.'

The next morning. Jake grumpy brushed his tooth over the bathroom sink. He barely got any sleep, not with all the thoughts and dreams about the blonde-jock and the kiss they shared. He wanted to vomit. And somehow, it gave him a warm feeling inside. Jake spitted in the sink and looked at his reflection in the mirror, a faint blush form on his cheeks, annoyed that a part of him actually dared he say it... Liked the kiss. Jake wanted to confront Brad about what happened, but yet he was actually afraid to face the blonde jock.

Jake walked through the corridor, his mind so far deep in thought he didn't know what to do. Did that kiss mean something, or was it another prank the jock plan? But if it was, then why didn't it feel like it was a prank?

'What was that idiot thinking about?' Jake thought, feeling a warm tingling to his cheeks

and heart. He noticed up ahead a few jocks including Brad chatting. The dragon teen face became hotter as his lower his head, and speed walking passed the group of jocks. Brad, however, saw him coming he head follow when the smaller teen walk passed them in a rush.

'Crap! That was beyond awkward. It's just too weird to see Brad now.' He thought when he turned the corner.

Jake pulls out his biology binder from his locker. 'Do... Does that mean Brad has feelings... for m-me?' He blushed hard and shook his head in denial.

"No way, I'm just overthinking it.."

"Overthinking what?" Trixie voice spoke behind him, Jake let out a surprised yelp, closing his locker and turning.

"Whoa~dude! your face is all red and stuff..." Spud said, touching his best friend forehead.

"Are you sick, man?"

'I must be!' Jake thought, gripping onto his jacket. "No, no, I'm alright." He lied.

'I don't get it at all...' Jake thought, sitting through biology lecture. 'Even if Brad has feelings for me, why me of all people? What could we possibly have in common..'

Jake thought maybe he should tell his friends about yesterday and what's going on with him. Because obviously he's going crazy. Jake turned towards Spud, who was thumb wrestling with himself, clearly having a hard time. He turns to Trixie, staring dreamy at Kyle Wilkins.

Jake leaned his head against the palm of his hand and allowed his mind to wander off, remembering last night kiss. The touch, the taste, the warmth feeling it gave Jake inside.

Jake let out a frustration sigh accidentally release a small flame. "Ah!" He yelp.

"Hmm? Is there a problem, Mr. Long?" His biology teacher asked.

"N-No! It's nothin' sir." Jake nervously answered, a few students, including his friends, giggle, and the teacher resumed his lecture. Jake lowered his head underneath his arms. He felt like he was on fire again, nervous heart pounding.

'Crap! This is bad! I think I have feelings for... Brad.'

"Jakey." Trixie called out, walking alongside her bestfriends. "What's up with ya playa? You look so down and unfocused."

"It's nothin' I'm just a little under the weather." Jake lied again, he couldn't tell them that he might have feelings for Brad.

"Dude, maybe you should go see the school nurse." Spud said, sounding a bit concern.

"Honestly, guys. I'm alright, really. I'll catch up with y'all later... I-I'm gonna go wash my face off."

"See ya." The sidekicks waved off headed towards the school library. Instead of going to the restroom, Jake went for an endless walk all through the corridors, clearing his mind. He soon stopped when he came to the gym entrance as if his legs bought him here for a reason.

And sure enough there was a reason, Jake stood by door watching a few boys playing basketball, and one of the players was no other than Brad, running across the court in red shorts and bare chest. Jake felt himself blushing again as he continued to watch the blonde jock sweaty body running along the court floor.

Brad's teams were skins, one of his teammate passed him the ball and he went to take a shot into the net, Brad felt something was pulling his attention, his blue eyes caught a pair of brown eyes staring at him. He lost his grip on the ball, missing the net slightly off. Jake gasped when he noticed the taller boy caught him and quickly flee.

Brad grabbed his shirt off the floor and ran after the young dragon, his teammates calling after him but he ignored them exiting the gym in search of his secret crush but and instead he ran into Jake's friends coming out of the library.

"Hey! Where's Long?" He asked, trying to catch his breath.

"He was supposed to meet us here, but he never showed." Trixie said, holding her hips. Brad only growled in response, heading back to the directions of the gym.

"What's his problem?" Spud asked.

"You guess is as good as mine," Trixie shrugged. "C'mon Spudinski, let's get to work."

After their basketball game the boys freshen up in the locker room, Brad sat on the bench in somewhat a bad mood his teammates asked him why he run off during the game, the blonde told them it's none of their business and left it alone.

Random thought ran through Brad's mind, only making him more angry. He stood up and punched the nearest locker, leaving a big dent. Brad was tired of hiding his feelings. He decided it was time Jake learned the truth.

Later that evening, Brad drove over to the Long's household in order to admit his feelings, this is so far Brad's biggest challenge, when he arrived he stepped out the truck and approached the porch.

"C'mon Brad, you gotta this far don't chicken out!" Brad swallowed hard and begin to knock a few times.

"Yes?" Haley answered the door, looking up. "Can I help you?"

"Hi! Is lon-...uhh...Jake," Brad corrected himself, nervous, he rubbed the back of his neck. "Is Jake here?"

Haley smiled brightly, "Yes! He's up in his room. Please, come on in." She said, she step aside and let the teen inside, Haley told him to follow her upstairs as he did.

Inside Jake's room, the dragon teen sat on his bed, sitting cross-legged staring blankly at his homework.

'I like Brad... I have feelings for Brad..' Jake kept repeating in his head. He was so lost in thought that knocking at his door startled him a bit.

"Yeah?" He called, unaware of the person behind the door.

"Jake, you have a visitor!" Haley announced.

"Who is it?" Jake asked, curious on the mystery visitor.

"I dunno, he never told me his name." Already annoyed by his sister, Jake pushes his homework to the side and hops off the bed, walking towards the door.

"Haley, you can't just invite unknown..." Jake opened the door and came face to face with Brad. "Stranger...." Jake's words slowly fade.

They both stared at each other as Jake blushed hard. Haley watched curiously at both boys trying to figure out what was happening until their mom called her asking if she would like to help with dinner. Haley happily agreed, skipping off down the stairs.

"B-Brad." Jake finally spoke, awkwardly. "What are you… why are you here?" Trying to his best contain his blush.

"Sorry to just show up unannounced, I-I gotta talk you about something. About the other day." Brad trailed off. "I can come in?"

"I-I dunno... I-" Jake hesitated, but Brad cut him off.

"Please, Jake." Brad softly pleaded. "I just wanna talk to you."

Jake remained silenced, feeling his nervous heart beating loudly against his small chest. But he was pleased that Brad called him by his first name.

"Okay....." Jake nodded his head and stepped back. With that, Brad carefully stepped inside, closing the door behind them.

Jake sat on the edge of his bed, Brad joined him. It was still extremely awkward between them. Brad ran his finger through his hair. That's when it caught Jake's attention, he gaze at the jock bruise hand.

"What happened to your hand?" Jake asked, slightly concern. Brad looked at him before looking at his own hand. His hand was slightly bruised, turning a shade of red and purple.

"I-I got a little tense and lost my cool. It's nothing important." Brad explained.

"Alright. So, you wanted to talk?" Jake asks, nervously placing his arms between his legs and looking curiously at older boy.

Brad heavily breathes. "Look, Jake, I never disliked you. I just pushed you away because I was afraid."

Jake raised his eyebrow. "Afraid? Afraid of what?"

"Afraid of telling you how I really felt about you. How I always liked you and thought you was special," Brad bashfuly blushed, he stood up, pacing back and forth. "Afraid you might not notice me, for who I really am."

Brad ran a hand through his blonde hair again, having to confess his feelings like this was much more embarrassing than he thought.

"Brad..." Jake called his name, as he also stood up, he gently grabbed onto the jock biceps stopping his pacing. Brad looked at him.

"Yeah?" He answered.

"Kiss me."

"W-Wha?"

"I said k-kiss me." Jake repeats himself. He trailed off a moment, blushing. "Ever since that kiss, I-I started having 'these' weird feelings... about you. So I wanna see if these feelings I have for you are real."

Brad blushed, having a deja vu moment. Instead of the roles the other way around, he shortly smiled, grabbing onto the younger male chin. Lifting his face just enough.

"Are you sure?" Brad asked, itching to kiss the smaller teen again.

"Yes." Jake smiled. Both closed their eyes, leaning forward when their lips met once again, Brad placed his free hand on Jake's waist. In return, without a thought, Jake places his own hands on Brad's chest.

Brad finally pulled away, both opened their eyes staring at each other, Brad smirked as his arms remained where they were.

"I really do like you, Jake, and I would be honored if you would go out with me. If you give me a chance you'll see I'll make you like me more than I like you." Brad mumbled, feeling pretty winced.

There was a moment Jake hesitated. He bit down on his lower lip. But looking into those icy blue eyes.

"Brad, even though you're still the biggest jerk and no matter how messed up this whole thing is..." Jake face starts to blush, "I-I really would like to go out with you."

Brad softly smiled. His heart was pounding with happiness. He stared dreamly into young dragon's honey brown eyes. They both leaned in for another kiss. An inches before their lips touch, they was interrupted by a knock at Jake's room door.

"Jake-roo! Dinner ready come and get it while it's still hot." Jonathan chipley said.

Jake held his finger up to Brad's lips to silence him. "Uh... o-ok... I'll be down in a minute!" Jake replied, his heart beating extremely fast, but he wasn't the only one, Brad wasn't exactly 'calm' himself.

"Okie dokie!" He said, his footsteps got farther away the door. Jake removed his hand, and both boys released a heavy sighed.

"That was close..." Jake whispered.

"Yeah..." Brad chuckled, "Jake-roo?"

Jake glared at him. "Don't even go there."

Brad laughed lightly. "Alright, alright, I-I better get going before my dad have a melt down..." He releases Jake and heads to the door, but a small hand stops him.

Brad looked back and gave a questionable look. Jake blushed heavily as he stood on his tippy-toes places one more passionate kiss, Brad too blushed heavily by the sudden action. The kiss only lasts a moment before they both pull away.

"S-See ya around school tomorrow. You big jerk." Jake chuckled a tiny blush appeared on his face, unable to help the smile on his lips.

Brad grabbed onto the door knob slightly opening it. "Yeah. I'll see ya." He sheepishly smirked, "Good night, loser." After that, Brad left, and Jake flopped onto the bed, smiling to himself.

"Tiny bug!" The giant cyclops shouted, swinging his giant mallet around, trying to hit the red dragon that constantly dodged, destroying anything in his path.

Jake flew in front of the Cyclops, "Could we get this over with, I gotta get to school on time." He complained, annoyed. They've been at it since seven in the morning.

The cyclops roared, taking another swing at Jake, he dodges again easily. Jake blew out fire breath, which the Cyclops blocked using his mallet.

"Stay focused, young one." Grandpa said from the sidelines, "Patience is key."

'Easy for him to say, he's not the one gonna be serving detention for being late again.' Jake thought, making his eyebrows knit together in aggravation, 'Huh?!" Not paying attention to where he was flying, Jake got smacked by the Cyclops' mallet, he flew away and hit the nearby hill.

"Ooh!" Fu flinched, "That's gonna leave a mark."

"Ugh, fuck my life," Jake says as he slides down the crumbling wall he just crashed into before getting his balance in order. "That's it!"

Beep' beep' beep

Brad groans, slamming a hand over the snooze button slowly rising from underneath the covers, he yawns and stretches. Today's the day, today the jock was going to officially ask Jake on a date. Hopping out of bed with excitement he got himself ready for school. Last night he and Jake stayed up most of the night just talking, and man, it was the best time of the jock's life.

He thought the asian teen was funny, silly, and cute. Brad had been a nervous wreck, his first attempt to ask him out. It was quiet on Jake's end and that's when he realized the boy had fallen asleep on the phone, snoring lightly. Brad chuckled and wished him a good night.

Once Brad was fully refreshed and dressed he went downstairs into the kitchen to find his dad already in his police uniform drinking his morning coffee and reading the newspaper.

"Morning, Dad." He greeted, grabbing himself a breakfast burrito from the fridge and popping it into the microwave to let it cook.

"Morning,"

His dad usually wasn't a morning person, considering he worked until midnight and back again the next morning. While Brad waited for his burrito to finish, he took his cell out of his pocket and shot Jake a text message.

No1Bradster~

- Morning sleepy head -

The microwave beeped and he took his food out letting it slightly cool down before taking a bite.

Mr. Morton spoke, "So who's the lucky girl?"

Brad was dumbstruck, "Whatcha mean?" He managed to say, mouth full.

"I got home pretty late last night and was quite surprised you were still woke. I heard you talking and laughing."

The jock started choking, beating against his chest. Oh shit! Brad wonders if his dad overheard his phone conversation with Jake.

After catching his breath. "Oh, just this girl." He lied, "We just started talking actually." Already hates himself for lying to Dad about Jake. He didn't wanna disappoint his dad that his only son has a boyfriend.

Boyfriend?

Does Jake think of him as his boyfriend? Sure the two teens just started talking but were they ready to put a label on them, if Brad was honest with himself he liked the idea of calling the young dragon his boyfriend.

"Must be one special girl." Mr.Morton said, looking at his wristwatch, "To have you talking like that." Folding up the newspaper and putting his finished coffee cup in the sink.

Brad blushed, "Special indeed." His father patted him on the shoulder and headed to the front door grabbing his keys and police hat.

"Make sure you are not late for school again." He said leaving with a goodbye.

______________________________________

Talk about starting the day off horribly, fighting against that Cyclops that took half of Jake's morning, and was pretty sure he left his homework on his desk. He flew across the city at high speed. He couldn't be late for the third time, finally arriving at school. Jake landed behind a nearby tree, changing back to his human form. He ran full spirit inside, lucky enough to make it before the doors locked.

Jake took the time to catch his breath and then noticed the corridor were pretty crowded. The asian boy walked through the corridor letting out a sleepy yawn, he barely got any sleep who would have guessed that he'll be up that late in the middle of the night talking on the phone with Brad.

It's only been two days since he and the jock started secretly talking. Jake has been a little weirded out about it. It's strange, though. Ever since that night, they confessed their feelings, Jake has seen a different side of Brad within these days. He finally got to know the jock for who he is, then just some tough-guy, quarterback jock. Jake never would've believed Brad could be quite a different person than he let others believe.

"Oof!" He collided with a certain boy on his mind. Jake looked up slightly, catching Brad's icy blue eyes looking at him with a soft smile. Their bodies closed up together, and Jake blushed.

"Hi," Brad greeted almost as a whisper. His hands ghostly hold onto the smaller teen waist.

"Hi, back to you." Jake smiled warmly, "Oh, sorry I didn't text you back this morning. I was a little preoccupied."

Brad nodded, "I did wanna ask you something important..." He nervously rubs the back of his neck. Both teens had forgotten they were in the middle of the corridor, standing close to each other with no space between them.

"Sure, whatcha wanna ask?" Jake asked curiously, He waited for the jock to get his words together.

Brad sighed and opened his mouth, "Would you like to -" The bell rang, interrupting the older teen's sentence, and Jake instantly panicked.

"Crap gotta get to class," Jake said. He grabbed a grip of his bag and smiled at the taller teen.

"Ask me later, I really gotta get going." He gave Brad a quick kiss and headed to class. Brad watched the other boy walk away, his first chance blown, he groaned.

______________________________________

By lunch period, the students scattered around the cafeteria eating and chatting. Jake fell asleep with his face in a bowl of oatmeal, Trixie shook her head and pulled the asian teen's head out, waking him up.

"Dude, no offense. You look terrible," Spud commented, taking a bite from his fries.

"Thanks," Jake replies sarcastically, "You try fighting a giant rampaging cyclops. I think he broke one of my ribs." He complained, rubbing his sore side.

"Well, I hope you are not too broken to help us set up the halloween fundraiser dance."

Wapping some leftover oatmeal off his face, "I dunno, remember the last fundraiser I participated in? I was hypnotized by a geeky siren."

"It's nothing like that, playa. Just need a little dragon-dragon up action, hanging up the decorations."

"Fine. Think I'mma go clean myself up a bit, be right back."

He got up from the table and left the cafeteria heading to the nearest restroom. Jake walked past a couple of girls, overhearing their conversation. One of the girls mentioned her boyfriend, and something sparked in his head.

boyfriend..

Was Brad his boyfriend? Sure, they talk over the phone almost every day, and occasionally, when they're alone, share kisses. Jake thought they were taking things slow. Now he wondered if the blonde jock thought of him as his boyfriend.

He stood over the sink, splashing his face with warm water. He sighed in relief, feeling somewhat refreshed. Unaware, another person quietly enters the restroom, sneaking up behind the young dragon and wrapping strong arms around his waist. Jake yelped, looking at the reflection in the mirror.

"Brad?" Jake blushed, turning his body towards his boyfriend?

Brad smiled warmly, "Finally gotcha alone,"

Jake returned the smile, "Big idiot,"

Brad tilts his head and notices a fresh red-cut wound on his neck. "What happens to your neck?"

"My neck?" Jake repeated stupidly, placing a hand over his neck. Felt the cut sting to his touch. "I-I was helping my grandpa move some old dusty boxes, and one of them probably nipped me." He lied.

Brad nodded in response, and their noses brushed.

"B-Brad, what if someone sees us?" Jake was concerned, blushing.

"No one's around. It's just us," Brad whispered.

He leaned down slightly for a kiss. They closed their eyes as they kissed; exploring each other’s lips. When Jake's lips parted, Brad’s tongue entered his mouth, and Jake gasped softly as their kiss deepened.

They parted, and Brad leaned his forehead against Jake's, Brad opened his blue eyes to see his boyfriend brown eyes opening.

"I missed you..."

Jake chuckled, "We just had last period together."

"About earlier what I wanted to ask you," Brad blushed, nervously averting his gaze.

"Yeah?"

"If you're not doing any tonight, I would like to -"

The jock's words were interrupted once again by the sound of boys chatter coming towards the restroom, they separated from each other, and Jake went to hide in the stall while Brad casually washed his hands, trying to his nerves under control. The restroom door opened, and it was Brad's jock friends.

"There you are, we wondered where you ran off to."

Brad rolled his eyes, "Damn, can't I have a moment to myself without you idiots freaking out." Drying his hands.

"Jeez, dude, who pissed you off?"

Brad looked back at the stall, "Nothing, just needed some air,"

"Let's go, bro, we got practice to get to, and I heard the cheerleaders will be outside practicing with us." The boy whistled flirtatiously.

As the jocks were leaving out, Brad turned his head to look at a smiling Jake. His second chance was ruined. When the bathroom was clear, Jake came out of the stall sighing he wondered what the blonde jock wanted to ask him. Jake rejoined his friends in the study hall. Trixie went over the charity fundraiser event. Spud helped Jake redo the homework he left at home.

Jake's cell vibrated, getting the boy's attention, and he rolled his eyes. Thinking it could be his grandpa or Fu, his face softened at the messenger's name.

No1Bradster~

  - My teammates are so focused on

cheerleaders, it's kind of annoying -

NYC'Dragon~

- Awe, not interested in the cheerleaders' cheers? Lol -

No1Bradster~

  - Nope, I already have someone that I'm very interested in -

Jake blushed at the message, feeling a bit special. Brad's flirtatious jokes always seem to put Jake in a better mood. He was about to reply with his joke when Trixie asked him a question.

"Wha?"

Trixie sighed, "I asked if you were going to bring a date for the dance?"

"Oh. Uh, I don't know." Jake flipped his phone over onto the desk.

Later the evening when the final bell rang ending the day, Jake gathered his books and bag from his lock and slammed it shut he began walking down the corridor he walked past a janitor's closet when the door creepily opened and a hard reached out grabbing held on his bag pulling him inside before closing shut.

"What the -"

"Shhh," Brad whispered a singer on his lips as a gesture to stay quiet before listening against the door, "Okay, we're good."

"Seriously, dude, you gotta stop sneaking up on me," Jake said, adjusting his book bag over his shoulder.

"Sorry..."Brad said, taking a deep breath. "I've been trying to ask you this question all day."

Jake tilted his head at him curiously. "Y'know you could've just texted me the question."

"I know, but it didn't seem personal," Brad explained, taking Jake's hands into his interlocking their fingers. "I wanted to do it properly in person."

Jake blushed at the affection, "Well, you have my full attention now."

Brad licked his lips as his face started to blush, "Would you like to go on a date tonight?"

Jake's eyes widened as he stared up at Brad, and he instantly forgot how to breathe.

"W-we don't have to do anything fancy, just a simple movie at the theater and maybe a walk around Central Park? There's this new zombie movie that's playing."

It was quiet for a moment before Jake spoke up again. "S-sure," He blushed and averted his glance to the floor. "I love to."

Brad seemed surprised, "Really?"

Jake nodded happily,

"Awesome! So tonight. Meet at the theater around 7 o'clock?"

"Sounds perfect."

Brad was so happy, "I'll see you tonight then," He leaned down for a quick kiss upon Jake's lips, leaving out the janitor's closet.

Later that night, Brad spent almost a solid hour in the bathroom, showering and getting his hair just right. He’d return to his room to get dressed, putting on a plain white T-shirt throwing on an orange plaid short-sleeved button-up shirt over it, a pair of nice blue jeans, and white sneakers.

There are a lot of words people use to describe the blonde jock. Brazen, brash, brave, loud, lowkey smart, antagonistic, obnoxious, yes. But nervous? No. Absolutely not. He's definitely never seen to act this way about a first date before.

But to him this wasn't just any dates, he previously had with those girls he didn't care about, the jock finally has the chance to take out the boy of his dreams on a real date, Brad looked at his reflection in the mirror with a smug grin. He wanted tonight to be perfect, adding a bit of body spray and cologne. Brad was glad his father would be working late, he glanced at the clock hanging on the wall reading 6:49 pm he grabbed his keys and wallet. Leaving out his room, he quickly made sure the house was clean, then headed out the door.

Across town, Jake was nervous. He's more nervous than he had ever been in his entire life. He's been on plenty of dates before, so why was his first date with Brad making him this nervous?

He stood in front of his bedroom full body mirror in his t-shirt and underwear, holding one outfit in his left hand, another in his right hand, and another set being held by his dragon tail. Jake wanted to look nice.

There was a knock at his door Jake called out and asked who it was, Haley announced it was her and instantly told her to go away but instead she let herself in his room dressed in her weird princess gown.

"Care to join us for our evening tea party?" Haley asked with a pleading smile.

"Not really, in case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of busy, so go away."

"Whoa, where are you going?"

"If you must know, I have a date tonight with a special someone," Jake answered, holding the three outfits up to his body still undecided.

"On a school night? I doubt mom and dad would even let you go out this late."

"And that's why you're not going to say nothing to them," He laid his outfits across the bed and turned to his sister, "Just cover for me this once."

Haley grinned, "I promised to keep quiet if you have a tea party with me next time."

Jake groaned, "Awe, man. Fine! I promise next time." he turned back to the outfits he couldn’t make up his mind, swinging his tail humming.

"Is this special person called Brad?"

Jake froze in place. How could his pink tails, goody two-shoes annoying little sister, possibly know about him? Using his tail to slam his bedroom door closed and making it vanish, he glared at Haley.

"H-How do you know about Brad?"

"I may have overheard your late-night conversations with my dragon hearing."

"I'm warning you, Haley, if you say a word to anyone--"

"Oh, relax, I'm not gonna tell anyone." Haley scoffed, "By the way, I like that outfit better," She poked at the outfit on the left side of the bed, "Brings out your eyes more."

Jake looked down at what she chose and smiled fondly at the compliment and thought maybe Brad would think the same about the outfit. Haley excused herself from his room back to her tea set party, Jake got dressed and once again looked in the mirror. A tan hoodie with a black Chinese dragon design along the arm sleeves, a pair of slim-fit navy blue ripped jeans, and black sneakers. Feeling more confident, Jake glanced at his watch, realizing it was almost 7 p.m. He opened his balcony window, transformed into his dragon form, and flew across town.

Brad stood in front of the theater patiently waiting for the asian teen to arrive. He didn't wait too long. Jake came around the corner waving, and Brad was in 'awe'

"Sorry, I'm late. I got tied up with something. I hope you weren't waiting long." Brad was silently staring at him. "You okay?" Jake asked,

"You look beautiful."Brad blurted out, not realizing what came out of his mouth.

Jake blushed heavily, "Say wha?"

The jock snapped out of his thoughts and began to blush as well, "Uh... wow, that just slipped out." He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly, "Uh, We should get inside our movie is going to be starting soon.

Brad paid for their tickets and went inside. The jock told the dragon teen to pick out some nice seats while he grabbed them some snacks from the bar. Jake smiled with an 'okay' and went searching for the screening room. He found the room scanning the surroundings, and decided on the seats at the top row, a better way to see the whole screen.

Jake waited for the other boy. While waiting, his nerves began to rise again as he fumbled with his hoodie string still feeling bashful about Brad calling him beautiful.

"First date?" A female asked, Jake looked at the girl on his left. A pretty brunette, very colorful with a happy glow about her. If Jake could've guessed, he'd say she was probably in college.

"Uh, s-something like that," He mumbles, continuing to fumble with the hoodie string. "I really like this person. I-I just don’t wanna ruin it."

She chuckled, "Honey, rule one. You have to relax," She took Jake's hand away from the string. "Rule two. Don't overthink, I'm pretty sure he's just as nervous. Finally, rule three. Just be yourself and enjoy each other company."

Jake considered her advice and smiled for a moment, then realized something. How did she know he was referring to a guy? He was about to ask her when he noticed she was taking cute selfies with her female friend and decided to leave it alone.

A few more people enter the room just as the light begins to dim down into pitch dark. Brad came in holding some popcorn and drinks in a tray, it took him a minute to find his boyfriend and when he did he went up the stairs scooting passed others to the empty seat next to Jake.

Jake turned towards him, forgetting all about the pretty brunette, smiling at him.

"Sorry, did I miss anything?" Brad said, placing the drinks in the cup holders.

"Nope, you made it just in time," Jake said, taking his half of popcorn as the movie began to play.

They watched the movie mostly in silence, looking at each other and laughing quietly at the scary parts. Brad carefully lifted his arm, placing it around Jake's shoulders.

The butterflies in Jake's stomach went crazy and his heart actually skipped a beat. The dragon teen knew what this meant. Like any normal date with a girl, the guy would put their arm around the girl's shoulder so the girl could lean on them. He didn't know what to do, he wasn't sure he was comfortable showing this kind of affection in public just yet but that thought passed him when a light push from his left side made him lean onto his boyfriend.

"Oops, I'm so sorry," The brunette girl said, clearly did it on purpose as she winked at him.

Jake slightly looked up and saw the jock focusing on the movie, but yet he could see the blush across his face. Maybe the girl was right, Brad was just as nervous as he was. Finally, Jake laid his head pressed against Brad's body, and the butterflies in his stomach vanished and were replaced with a comfortable warmth. Well, that was until a violent scene startled the young dragon.

After the movie, the two teens headed to Central Park, taking a stroll around the park hand in hand. They talked for what felt like hours. The boys soon found themselves standing on the bridge over the lake, staring at the water in the reflection of the moon, enjoying the peace and quiet.

"By the way, I think you look very cute as well." Jake says with a smile, as he hooked his arm into Brad's. "Returning the compliment from earlier."

Brad duck his head obviously blushing, "T-Thanks," he looked back up at the sky. "Such a beautiful night."

"Yeah..."

"Can I ask you a serious question?" Brad shyly asked.

"Of course."

"Is it too early for us to put a label between us? I mean, I don't mind going slow if it makes you comfortable."

Jake thought about it for a moment, "I like the idea of us being boyfriends."

The jock smiled with happiness, "Good, I like calling you mine boyfriend."

They stayed on the bridge a little longer, enjoying the view when they both decided it was getting super late and they should get home. When they arrived at Jake's house, Brad parked in front of the house. They both stepped out of the blue truck, Brad come around the vehicle and reached for his boyfriend hand with his own and held it tight and they started walking up the stairs, stopping in front of the door.

"I had a wonderful time. Thanks for coming with me," Brad softly spoke, rubbing his thumb against the dragon teen hand. "I-I was nervous about it since it's our first official date."

Jake smiled, "I know what you mean. I felt the same all evening, but I had a great time with you."

"So, there'll be more dates to expect?"

"Obviously!"

They laughed, both leaning in to close the gap between them, closing their eyes, and finally kissed. When Brad pulled back, his head rested on Jake's.

"Good night, I'll see you tomorrow."

The blush on Jake's cheeks deepened, "Good night..." He whispered back before disappearing inside the house.

The next night, Jake sat around the small plastic table in his sister room. He was wearing one of Haley's princesses' dresses over his casual clothes. His hair pulled back in a ponytail with a pretty ribbon-bow, stars and heart-shaped stickers and fake leashes on his face.

He sighed, 'A promise is a promise.'

"How did the special date go?" Haley asked, pouring herself a cup of fake tea.

Jake smiled, "Honestly... one of the best ones. Everything was wonderful, and we decided to be boyfriends."

Haley nodded happily, "More tea?"

"Yes, please."

"Considering you haven't stopped grinning like an idiot, I take it the date went good?" She asked, brushing the nail polish across his nail.

Brad sighed happily, "Better than I could've imagined."

"So? Did you guys clarify your relationship?"

He nodded, "We're officially boyfriends." His voice holds a proud tone to it.

She scoffed, "About time. Now hold still, you'll ruin your medi pedi!"

Brad continued to hold his hand out, and suddenly, a concern crossed his mind. "You think he'll tell his friends about us?"

"Would it bother you?"

"No... just wondering if they'll accept me being with him."

She shrugged, "They seem open-minded, geeks." She was silent before speaking quietly. "So, like, what's up with his dorky weird friend? Is he like seeing someone?"

"Spud? Uh, I honestly wouldn't know from the time Jake mentioned him. He is still crushing over you."

"Okay, good..." She mumbles, giving back his hand, "Blow."

He did as he was told, "Wait. You're not starting to fall for him, are you?" He smirked playfully.

Stacey groaned with disgust, "I don't know. I was thinking about all the stuff he was, like, doing for me. And I think I kinda, like, like him. Like, like like him." She gagged.

"We could double date." Brad joked.

Stacey exclaimed, "Shut up!"

Deep within a dark cave, surrounded by shadowy blue flames, there lie on top a smooth surface pillar was a skull of a once powerful dragon. The eye socket glowed red.

"CHANG!!" The skull roared.

A glowing garnet color spiral vortex appeared in front of him, revealing an elder lady holding a staff and a monkey dressed in yellow clinging to her shoulder.

"You summon me, my master." She kneeled before him.

"How long must I wait to be resurrected!" He growled impatiently.

"Just a little while longer. I already have my next steps in motion. I assure you you will be a fully restored master."

"And what news do you have upon the location of the dragonheart?"

"Nothing yet, my dark master..."

"Yo, Double D. What exactly is this dragonheart all about?" Bananas B asked. Chang chuckled at her naive partner. She lifted her staff, conjuring a hologram of a fiery orb.

"The dragonheart is a small crystalline object that possesses tremendous power. History says it contains ancient magic of all magical creatures and possibly the single most powerful magical artifact in the entire magical realm."

"Precisely! Once you locate the legendary dragonheart's, and I am fully resurrected, my power will be unstoppable, and not even the dragon council could defeat me."

"My lord, if I may be so bold to say it's been over two hundred years, even if the dragonheart reappear itself, it could be awakened from any of the billion of dragons in the world."

"Then I guess you better fine the right spell to track it down and retrieve it. Otherwise, why do I bother keeping you around. Now GO!"

Chang bowed, "Yes, master."

It's already been a full month since the formal ex-rivals officially become boyfriends. Today, the boys hung out at the Morton's house. Brad's dad was out of town for a work trip, so the boys had the house to themselves. They lounge in the living room history textbooks scattered around them, helping each other for their upcoming history test.

They spent a few hours reviewing notes, and every now and then, Jake would glance at Brad, who seemed to be so lost in thought, staring at the textbook on his lap. Brad was more focused on something other than history. Jake noticed Brad had been acting strange the past couple of days, but he hadn't said anything about it to him yet. He wasn't really sure how to even bring something like that up anyway.

Jake stared at him, concerned. "Brad, are you okay?"

Brad snapped out of his thought and lifted his head. "Huh?" He sounded confused. "Oh! Y-yeah... I'm cool. Why, you ask?"

The dragon teen closed his textbook. "Because you been oddly quiet, and that's not like you," He chuckled, "What's up?"

"Sorry, Jay," Brad says. He started calling Jake Jay after their third date. "I just got a lot on my mind right now."

Jake scooted closer towards him, "Wanna talk about it?"

Brad suddenly fell silent. He couldn't tell Jake what was on his mind he didn't want his boyfriend to laugh at him for thinking like such a girl. Instead, the jock shook his head.

"It's nothing important." He lied, "C'mon let's get back to work." Putting his attention back into the book.

Brad wanted to tell him. God! He truly did, but he was too afraid it might be too soon or thought Jake wasn't ready for that level yet. He glanced at him, watching the way he chewed on his bottom lip, trying to understand a problem. Brad thought he was the most beautiful person. It's amazing how the young dragon has him going this crazy.

Jake knew something was wrong by the sudden nervousness and lies he decided to leave it for now. If Jake could be honest with himself, he also had something bothering him. Keeping their relationship a secret from his two best friends was kind of getting to him. He hated lying to his friends about his whereabouts.

Like today, Jake lied about telling Spud and Trixie he'll be busy at his Gramps shops. He knew eventually their secret relationship wouldn't last long, that Trixie and Spud will eventually gonna find out somehow, knowing Jake's excuses won't continue to work. Especially not with Trixie. She was too smart for his own good. He heard a small laughter and looked at Brad. The older teen had a soft smile, and Jake's heart skipped a beat. He never knew how much he liked the smile on his boyfriend's face.

"Is my struggle amusing to you?" He frown playfully.

Brad leaned forward a bit, reaching a hand out gently cupping Jake's chin and kissed him gently. It caught Jake a little off guard, he blush and kissed back. The kiss was short but still nice.

"Thank you." Brad says, letting go of Jake's chin.

"For what?"

"For being awesome." Brad smiled, and Jake still blushing turned the other way, Brad laughed once again. "You're cute when you blush... Jake-roo."

Jake rolled his eyes and playful punch him in the arm, Brad knew his boyfriend hated being called that from others, he couldn't resist teasing him they shared a cheerful laugh only to be interrupted by Jake's cell phone.

"Yo G, what's happenin'?" He answered, listening to gramps explain the issues and let out a groan. "Alright, on my way." He hung up the phone and sighed.

"Everything's okay?" Brad asked.

"Yeah... Just a little problem at my gramps shop. I better go help." Jake explained, packing his books into his book bag. They stood up from the floor and walked to the front door. Jake turned to look up at a taller teen and noticed the same deep in thought facial expression return. He didn't wanna pry, but the concern was getting to him.

"Are you sure everything's all right?" Jake put a hand on his bicep. "You're not behaving like your annoying self." He joked a little, hoping to lighten his mood.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Brad shrugged. He took my hand off his bicep and interlocked their hands.

Jake looked into his icy blue eyes and knew he was still lying. He stood on toes as Brad leaned down slightly. They shared another sweet kiss, letting their hands dispart. Saying their goodbye, Brad was left alone with his thoughts. He leaned against the door and took a deep breath.

"Damn it, Jake... what are you doing to me?" He whispered to himself.

Jake and Gramps visit the Witches & Warlock thrift shop that had been recently attacked in the magical community.

"Whoa, looks like a tornado hit this place." Jake said, carefully stepping over the broken items. "What happened?"

"Rumors has it, Chang been spotted wondering the magical world. This is the third shop she attacked." Gramps explained.

"Do we know what exactly she took?" Jake questioned, picking a dismember hand flinging it somewhere.

"Unfortunately, not young one, but if she's gone through the trouble of looking for it, it must be dangerously important."

"Well, I guess there's nothing we can do at the moment, so can we call it a night? I have a history test in the morning."

"As you wish, I will have Fu Dog go through the records of missing items from the shop." They existed out of the shop, heading to the open portal to the human world, just as Winifred called out.

"If you find her, tell her I'm sending her the repair bills!"

______________________________________

The next day, Jake failed his history test, not completely his fault. Between not understand history, figuring out Chang plans, and worrying about a boyfriend. Who had time to study.

It was lunch period and the weather was nice enough to eat outside. The trio ate their lunch and chatted about random topics. Jake spotted Brad sitting a few tables away, talking with some of his jock and cheerleader friends. Stacey tapped Brad on back, getting his attention she nudged her head to the side, and Brad soon noticed him and gave a quick smile and wink.

Jake replies with a small wave, he was glad the blonde jock seems better than yesterday, watching him smile and laugh, making Jake's heart skip beats. Who could've known that his once enemy could make him feel so much for him.

'I really do like you, Jake, and I would be honored if you would go out with me. If you give me a chance you'll see I'll make you like me more than I like you.'

Those words reminisce in Jake's memories. And Brad was right. He had fallen harder for him, Jake blushed.

'I wonder...'

"Dude?"

'Maybe...'

"Duuude?"

'I think... I-'

"Yo Jakey!"

He yelped at the sudden stoutness, realizing Trixie and Spud were standing up, holding their empty food tray staring at him.

"Earth to playa, lunch is over what's got you so space out?" Trixie said. Her face gave off suspicious.

"I-I was just wondering how Imma explained another failing grade to my parents." It wasn't a complete lie, but it was a lie to distract them from the real reason.

"Dude, you been acting really weird lately. And that coming from me say something." Spud said.

"Spud right. It's like we barely see ya nowadays." Trixie said, cocking her hip. "So spill it, what's really gotta into you?"

Jake figured they would start noticing something off about him. He stood up and grabbed his tray and told them everything was just fine. They tossed their trash away and headed inside the build, and they decided to hang out at the arcade after school.

__________________________________

Jake stood at his open locker, gathering the stuff he needed for his next class. The young dragon felt guilty for lying to Spud and Trixie earlier, but if he told them the truth, how would they react?

What if they don't accept them and never speak to him again? All these what-ifs were running through his head, clogging his thoughts and terrifying him.

A piece of paper fell, Jake bent down to pick it up. Recognize it was a photo of him and Rose at the homecoming dance. He sighed sadly.

"Hey!"

He flinched, dropping the photo. When a hand touched his shoulder, he turned around, meeting a pair of icy blue eyes that held a small grin.

"You alright? You were kind of spacing out there." Brad said. He leaned against the roll of lockers.

"So I've been told the second time today," Jake sighed. He really gotta stop zoning out.

Brad pushed himself off the lockers and crouched down, grabbing the photo, "You drop your..." He looked at the photo, "Oh,"

Jake frowned, "Brad?"

Brad snapped out of his thoughts, "Oh, uh, I'm late for practice..." He gave Jake back the photo.

"Brad wait,"

The jock didn't listen he walked off down the corridor halls, Jake could only watch as Brad got further away, feeling hurt Jake looked at the photo one last time before putting it back in his locker closing the locker.

_______________________________________

"Ugh!" Brad groaned, from being tackled to the ground for the third time.

"Morton! Get your head in the game!" Coach shouted at him.

"Yes, sir!" He replied. But no matter what, he can't get his head into today's practice. Not with his boyfriend might still have deep feelings about his previous love interest.

Brad shouldn't have anything to truly worry about, Rose moved overseas, and deep down, Brad was excited she left. Now, he could have Jake to himself. So why does the photo have him feeling... jealous

After practice the football team hit the showers, Brad stood at his gym locker, a towel wrapped around his waist, and one around his bare shoulders. His phone in his hand staring at the five text messages from Jake debating if he should reply back. He heavily sighed and backed out his text message with Jake. Instead, he messaged the only person he could talk to about this with.

Chang stood by a giant cast iron cauldron, reading the tomes they've stolen earlier when Bananas B came swinging around.

"Yo, yo. What's that you got brewing?"

"A powerful spell, that will help our dark lord restore his energy ten times faster than those simple little sacrifices." She explained, adding more ingredients to the cauldron. "Ah! It's almost complete. It just needs one important ingredient."

"Oh yeah? What's that, yo?"

"The chi energy from a dragon, and I have one dragon particular in mind." She evil grinned.

"Why would he have that photo in his locker?"

After school, Brad went over to Stacey's house to help him with his problem. The blonde cheerleader sat at her vanity desk, brushing her long hair.

"Did you ask him about it?"

"Well, no, I kinda walked off before he said anything and been avoiding his text messages. Wow, now I feel like a jerk."

"Exactly, so instead of acting like a big pouting baby, just talk to him."

"That's not the only problem I'm having talking to him about." Brad mumbles as he falls back onto the bed.

"I figured there was something more than just a simple photo," She put the brush down and turned in the chair staring at her friend. "You've been brooding before the incident, and like weirdly quieter, what's really going on, Brad?"

Brad stared at the ceiling and sighed heavily. "I-I just don't wanna lose him, especially now."

"He's really something special, you truly do care about him?"

Brad slightly nodded his head, covering his face with his arms.

"It's more than that, isn't it?" Stacey gasped, "Do you love him?"

He softly breathes, nodding his head once more.

"Are you going to tell him?"

Brad dropped his arms and finally sat up, "You think I should?"

"Duh! My god, for a hopeless romantic, you sure are dense."

The trio hung out at the arcade. And man! Did it make Jake feel a little better to hang out with his sidekicks again. They played race karts, air hockey table, hoop basketballs, dance dance revolution, and a lot of zombie shooting. In between those times, Jake would sneak a quick glance at his phone, hoping his boyfriend responded, yet still not a word.

The trio had a blast together. They stopped to have some lunch, and Jake ordered himself some curly onion rings and medium soda. Spud ordered him two taco burritos while Trixie got herself some nachos. They small talk about random stuff while Spud and Trixie discuss some add-ons to the halloween dance.

Jake kind of tuned them out he reached down in his pocket and pull this phone halfway off to see the notification bar still no call or text he sighed quietly. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with Brad, Jake wondered if the jock was losing interest in him. He felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Why did it so much?

"Okay, what's going on with ya Jakey?"

Jake looked up from his curly onion, confused by his sudden question. "W-What you mean?"

"That's the twelve times you done check your phone since we've been here."

The asian teen widened his eyes. Has she been watching him the entire time?

"Obviously, something's troubling you, dude. You know, you can always talk to us?"

"Thanks guys you're the best, but trust me, you won't believe me."

"You are a fire-breathing dragon with a talking dog, and there's a magical place full of creatures. I'm pretty sure we'll believe anything at this point." Trixie rolled her eyes.

He saw the seriousness and concerned look on his friends' faces. He couldn't keep the secret no more he needed to talk to someone about it.

"I'm dating Brad.." Jake blurted out without a second thought. The duo completely frozen.

"Come again?" Trixie asked, holding a nacho chip in midair near her mouth.

Jake sighed and avoided any eye contact. "Me and Brad are dating... Well, secretly dating." He explains nervously. "That's why I been somewhat busy and acting a bit odd."

Spud and Trixie looked at each other, then suddenly busted out into laughter.

"Yeah, right! That's a good one, Jakey..."

"You and Brad? Dating? That's highly impossible, dude..."

Of course, they wouldn't believe him. Jake wouldn't believe himself either if it wasn't real. He's gotten this far might as well, Jake took out his cell, strolling through his gallery, and showed his friends pictures of him and Brad together on dates or casual hanging out. The duo eyes widen again.

"Dude! You two are really a thing?!" Spud questioned, sounded freaked out. Jake didn't blame him.

The dragon teen nodded. "I didn't think you guys would accept the idea of us being together. So I just kept it a secret." He looked towards Trixie, who was lost for words. "I'm sorry, I should've told you guys... Just wasn't the right time."

There was a strong silence between the trio, the sound of game machines, and other people chatters filled the air. On one hand, Jake feels better now, no more secrets, no more hiding. On the other hand, he felt lousy for revealing their relationship without consulting with Brad first and that he just might lose his two best friends along with his boyfriend.

"What do we do now?" Spud asked, breaking the thick tensions around them. Suddenly, it felt like they had lost their appetite.

"So?" Trixie started. Poking at her food. "How... Did you... Y'know... How did y'all become a thing?" She asked.

To be honest, Jake wasn't expected that from her. He smiled softly. This was her way of slowly accepting the thought, so when Spud chilled a bit, Jake told them how it started from the detention, to the kiss, to the big mess of emotions confession. Then, finally, the outcome.

Since they finally knew the truth, he also decided to tell them what's been bothering him lately about Brad and how he's been acting strange the day before and the incident earlier at school.

Finally! Jake truly felt relieved he had his friends to talk to about the situations.

"You think he might be having second thoughts?" Trixie asked. She was disgusted by her now cold nachos.

"Maybe... I don't know, before I could even talk to him about it, he stormed off, and he won't return any of my messages."

"Dude's a hot shot jock. It was just a matter of time for his true nature takes over."

Trixie slapped him upside the head, "Not helping Spudinski."

The duo started bickering about the jock. Jake mind started to reminisce again every since they started dating. He hadn't felt the lonely sadness he once did. Brad makes him happy again. He really found comfort being with him.

Jake happily blushed, resting his chin on his palm. "No, you guys are wrong about Brad." He smiled to himself.

"Man..." Spud took a deep breath, "Who would've thought, you'll be dating someone like Brad of all people."

"I know, right?" He chuckled. "But y'know, Brad really isn't all that bad. He's actually a lot caring, interesting, smart, and funny. I can't help but love that big idiot,"

Jake's eyes widen, his other hand flew over his mouth. Did he really just say love? His heart was thumping hard, and cheeks burning even more. The duo looked just as surprised as he did, Jake did say it out loud. He loves Brad.

"Dude, you love Brad?!"

Jake whispered, "I love Brad..."

Later that night, Brad arrived home, holding his backpack over his shoulder, the other hand holding his phone. He finally decided to reply back to his boyfriend messages. He typed out his message.

No1Bradster

'Hey, I know it's late, but can you come by? I need to talk to you...'

He sent the message, but before he could put his cell back in his pocket, he heard the sounds of heels behind him.

"Excuse me, young man, may I borrow your assisted?"

"Huh?" Brad turned around facing an elderly woman in a weird clothing holding a staff. "Can I help you?"

"I believe you can." A wicked grin spread across her face she held her staff towars the boy just as it began to glow.

Brad stared confused, and then suddenly, he felt weird his mind was becoming cloudy. Brad fell to his knees, dropping his bag and cellphone as he looked at the glowing staff, and his pupils become dull, and his irises turned a solid dark red.

Bananas.B laughed, "Bangers. That was easier than I thought."

Chang chuckled. "Now you service me, and I have a task for you." Extending her free hand towards the teen boy. "Bring me, Jake Long."

Brad took her hand and held it lightly, kissing the center of the top of her hand. "Yes, my mistress."

The next at school, Jake hoped he was able to find his boyfriend at school, last night he finally received a text message from the jock so after hanging out with his best friend he's flew over to his boyfriend house only to find out he's not there and find his belongings on the porch.

Jake spent most of the night searching for him but no such luck. His worries got even worse when he hadn't seen Brad during the first and second periods, and by lunch period, Jake spent most of the time searching for him. He met up with his friend back in the cafeteria.

"Still no sign of him?" Trixie asked, stabbing her fork into her baby carrots.

"No, I'm really getting worried it's like him to just -" Jake flinched when he felt a cold presence standing behind him. He slowly turned around, facing the jock himself. Only something was off about him.

"Worried about who?" Brad asked casually.

"W-Where have you been?" Jake questioned, forgetting they were in the cafeteria full of people.

Brad sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry I overslept..."

"Overslept? Do you have any-" Jake was cut off by Brad holding up a finger.

"Let's go outside where we can talk more privately."

Jake agreed and followed the jock out of the cafeteria.

"We're gonna spy on them, aren't we?" Spud asked.

"You best believe we are, c'mon." Trixie answered.

As they up from their table and followed after the boys. The young dragon followed the boy outside behind the school as they stood facing each other, unaware the duo was hiding behind some hedges not too far away. They watched as the boys talked even though they couldn't make out the words they could tell by Jake's face that he was expressing his concern.

"It's okay. I'm okay, see? I'm right here." Brad assured. He placed his hands on Jake's upper arms as a sign of comfort.

The young dragon couldn't describe it, but his boyfriend seemed off? Something wasn't right. The hands that used to gently hold him were now gripping his arms. Jake looked up at his face, mostly into his eyes. They seemed so cold.

"L-Listen, I gotta tell you something -" He was cut off again by the jock pressing his lips against his. This doesn't feel right. Everything about the Brad didn't feel right. This kiss felt forceful and rough. It felt like he was kissing a complete stranger.

"S-Stop!" Jake pulled back. Brad tightened his grips painfully. "Brad, you're hurting me!"

Jake watched as Brad's icy cold eyes turned dark red. The dragon teen eyes widened with fear. "B-Brad?"

The jock didn't respond. Instead, he smirked as his arms sparked static before releasing the bolt of electricity. Jake cried in pain as the electricity coursed through his body till he completely passed out. Brad snickered and picked up the boy, bride style.

"Jakey!" Trixie exclaimed. She and Spud came out of their hiding spot.

Brad slightly turns around, carrying an unconscious Jake. His soulless red eyes glow as he frowned. The duo started to run towards him when a blast of energy struck at their feet, stopping them in their tracks. They looked up and saw a Chang fall from the sky landing behind the jock. She laughed evilly, holding up her staff, covering themselves with a garnet color mist before vanishing.

"Oh man, this is not good." Spud stated the obvious.

The duo busts into the shop, panting. Gramps came from the back room, confused at the sudden commotion.

"What seems to be the problem?" Gramps asked once the two teens caught their breath.

"Jake's been kidnapped!"  Spud started.

"Your old flame has him, and to make it worse, she used Brad to get close to him like a human puppet." Trixie finished.

"Who is Brad?" He questioned. Trixie told him a short version of what happened. "She must have him under her spell. Ei yah, this is very bad."

"We have a bigger problem than that," Fu announced, walking up front. "Turns out

those items Chang took was actually a resurrection ritual."

"She plans resurrected the Dark Dragon..." Gramps says.

"And she gonna use Jake for the main sacrifice?!" Spud exclaimed. "We must find them before it's too late."

"And how exactly we're supposed to do that?" Trixie asked, "It's not like we can check every corner of the city!"

"Maybe not, but..." Spud pulled out his laptop, "If Jake still has his cell, then I should be able to track its service and pinpoint his location." He explains typing onto the laptop keys.

Jake was still unconscious. They had him strap to a tilt table. Bananas B stirred the brew while Chang studied the tomes, and Brad stood to the side, completely still like a statue. Bananas B told his mistress the potion was done, and she chuckled evilly.

Taking her staff out of the brew, she stood in front of Jake and recited the spell. A blue aura glows around him as Chang keeps reading, Jake's chi begins to absorb into her staff. Brad stared blankly at action, though his head was still frizzy. Images of the boy stirred in his head.

'I really do like you, Jake.'

'I-I really would like to go out with you.'

'W-What is this?' Brad thought.

Once the spell was over and Jake's dragon chi were completely absorbed, Chang admired the powers.

"Impressive, more than I ever imagined." She transformed, "Now to dispose of the garbage." She aimed her staff point blank at the asian teen. "Boy. Are you paying close attention?"

"B-Brad..." Jake mumbled,

"Ah!" Brad gasped, the images in his head became clearer, different events flash through his memories of them together.

" I like the idea of us being boyfriends."

"Good, I like calling you my boyfriend."

"Jake?" He muttered. His red eyes slowly turned back to its normal shade of color's.

Chang wicked laughed, "Looks like your luck is finally up, Jake long."

"No!" Brad snapped out of his hypnosis and tackled Chang just before she could kill his boyfriend.

Bananas B gasped, "What's happening? How did he break free from the hypnosis?"

After that, Gramps busts through the ceiling with Jake's best friends and Fu on his back. He lands to the ground, so everyone is able to get off before flying back up.

"What the?" Brad questioned as he ran towards his catcher boyfriend. "Two dragons?!"

"Looks like the calorie has arrived a little too late." Chang said as she flew up to engage in battle with Lao Shi.

Fu chased after bananas B while Trixie and Spud ran over to assist the jock in the attempt to free their friend.

"What are you guys doing here?" Brad questioned as he pulled onto metal straps.

"What does it look like? We're here to save our friend," Trixie snapped as she pulled on the opposite side of the metal straps. "And unfortunately you too."

"L-Look, there's something you should know about me and Jake..."

"We know, bro." Spud confront him, helping them with the metal straps. "Jake told us everything yesterday."

"R-Really? And you guys are okay with it?"

"Look! Now is not the time to have this discussion, maybe later when we're not all in danger!" Trixie reminded them.

They managed to free Jake and carried him to safety. Gramps and Chang fire breath clash, the blasted created a huge blinding explosion. The three of them took cover behind some rock pillars. Brad pulled Jake's unconscious body closer to his, protecting him from the explosion. The jock groaned.

"Brad..."

Brad eyes widened from surprise he looked down at his boyfriend, who was starting to regain conscience.

"I kept calling for you, but you wouldn't answer," Jake head lifted up, slowly opening his eyes and cracking a small smile. "Is your head in the clouds again?"

Brad didn't notice the tears in his own eye, but he was happy Jake was alright. "I'm really sorry about that, but I'm here now, okay?"

Chang blasts Grandps away, smacking into Fu as he detransformed. She twirled her staff, creating dark energy rings that she used to bound Trixie and Spud arms and legs. Bounding Gramps and Fu together.

"Aye, yo! Nobody mind controls my boyfriend and hurts my friends. Dragon up!" Jake threw his fists up, but nothing happened. "My dragon power? It's gone?!"

"That's right, chump. Your precious chi now belong to mistress Chang." Bananas B laughed,

"How about you show him what his powers can really do."

"What a splendid idea." Chang raised her staff up, radiating immense power and then launching at the boys.

Jake and Brad dodge the blast. However, the explosion was too strong, sending the boys flying slamming into the ground. Everyone struggled against their bondage as they watched helplessly as the boys were getting tossed around like rag dolls. With the final blast, Brad crushed into a limestone wall while Jake slid across the ground.

Chang laughed. "I'll put you out of your misery now," she released another attack.

"JAKE!" Everyone cried out.

"Watch out!" Brad jumped in front of Jake. He screamed in pain when the energy blast struck him. Jake entire body froze in place as he watched the jock endorse the blast.

Jake caught Brad's limp body before it could hit the ground. "Brad, no, are you alright, Brad?!" Jake cried out, shaking his injury boyfriend, noticing he wasn't moving. "Please, don't die!"

Brad still wasn't responding, Jake clenched onto him, his body trembling, and his heart rate increased. "You idiot... why would you do that?" Jake's breath hitched in his throat when he felt a hand touch his back.

"Because," Brad weakly chuckled, "I love you..." was the last thing Brad said before he fainted again. Jake can feel Brad's heart beating against his own chest.

Chang scoffed in disgust. "I've had enough of this weepy nonsense from you two." She aimed her staff at the boys once more. "I'll destroy you both!" Firing another energy blast.

As he embraced Brad unconscious body, "I love you too," Jake whispered. A tear fell from his cheek and glowed immensely bright just before Chang's blast could make contact a burst of wild flames surrounded the teen boys deflecting the blast.

Chang gasped, "Impossible! His shouldn't have anything dragon chi left."

The dark bounds that kept everyone restrained vanish from the pure light. Spud helped Trixie up, putting her arm around his shoulders.

"Woah, what's happening?" Trixie asked, witnessing the emits light show coming from her best friend.

"I dunno, but with our luck so far, hopefully, something good." Spud commented.

Jake opened his eyes, noticing the bright light crystal floating near the center of his chest. He slowly laid Brad down and lifted his hands around the crystal, feeling it restore his dragon chi.

"Ei yah!" Gramps exclaimed, "It can't be?"

"That's it! The ancient dragonheart..." Chang announced, "My master will be so pleased once he's resurrected, and I hand him the dragonheart." She spread her wings, "Now, hand it over, boy!" She changed towards Jake.

"You hurt family, you hurt my friends, and you hurt the person I love. You want this power," Jake transformed, "Then take it!" He inhaled a deep breath, his body glowing with purified light absorbing the power of the artifact and released a white flame that has a red-orange flame spiraling around it.

"What!?" Chang created a shield holding back the attack.

"Whoa yo, this is getting ugly. I better split." Bananas B panicked as he made a quick getaway.

Her shield started cracking, the fire breath was overpowering, Chang grunt before she vanish, letting them know this wasn’t the last time they'll see of her.

Later that night, everyone was safely returned home. Jake stayed back at his Gramps's shop, Gramps presented his grandson with an antique chinese box. Inside the box was a silver dragon necklace with the dragon holding the dragonheart

"Woah, is this for me?"

"Of course, young one, the dragonheart awakened within you. You are its true rightful owner."

Jake took the necklace and put it around his neck, and admitted the artifact. He asked his grandfather about the dragonheart. Gramps happily explained its history. The crystal can perform spectacular feats, such as reviving an entire world and all of its inhabitants from death and ruin. But the strain of using the crystal's power in such a way often causes the user to lose their life, Jake took in the information and accepted the responsibility.

Fu Dog came from behind the curtains holding a green potion bottle. "Here you go, kid, one super forget-me mind-erase potion as you required."

Jake took the bottle and tried his best to discreet his frown."Thanks fu,"

Fu could see the sadness on the kid face he waited till Gramps excused himself back behind the curtains before speaking the words. "You sure you wanna do this?"

Jake knew what Fu meant and nodded his head, "Yeah, I'm sure. Brad nearly died because of me, I can't put him in danger that like.... ever again." He sighed sadly, "It's just... it's time for me to let him go."

"Is that what your heart tells you?"

Jake fell back onto the sofa. "No. Not really."

"Look, kid, I'm not gonna tell you what to do, but my advice is to talk to him. I can tell he really cares for you to risk his life like that."

On his way to his boyfriend, Jake thought about everything Fu said to him, but he had already made his decision. When he arrived at the jock house, he climbed through Brad's bedroom window. Thank god his father was still out of town. Jake found his boyfriend right where he left him, lying on the bed, still resting.

He crawled onto the bed, kneeling beside the older teen, and gently took his hand that was covered in band-aids interlocking their hands together.

"I'm sorry," He whispered, "It's because of me you're in this situation."

The dragonheart glows within his jacket for a brief moment. Jake looks at his chest and then goes back to the jock when he starts to stir, opening his icy blue eyes.

"Hey," Brad whispered softly.

Jake chuckled, fighting the tears that threatened to fall. "Hey yourself,"

Brad smiled fondly and pulled the asian teen into a tight embrace, ignoring the pain, receiving the same gesture from the other boy. Even though it was far past midnight, neither boy seemed to care.

"Here, drink this." Jake told him as he pulled out the small potion bottle from his jacket pocket.

Brad removed the ice pack from his forehead and glanced at the bottle with a questionable look.

"What is it?"

Jake could've lied and told him it's a healing potion, but after everything they've been through today, it wasn't fair to the jock.

"A mind-erase potion. It will make you forget everything magical you have seen... including me."

Brad set up a little fast he winced at the pain, "Whatcha mean forget everything, including you?"

"Brad, calm down -"

"No! I won't calm down what possessed you to think I want to do that? Is it because of your secret? I promise I won't tell anybody."

"You could have died!" Jake shouted, hating that they're getting into an argument. "It isn't about my secret, Brad. I don't wanna put your life in danger like that again!"

"Jay..." He reached out to take Jake's hand in his.

"No," He pulled his hand away and turned his back towards the older teen. "I couldn't bear losing someone I care about... I can't go through that again."

"What do you mean by 'again?"Jake was silent, and Brad realized who he meant. "You mean Rose. What exactly happened between you two?"

Jake figured now was the best time to tell his boyfriend the whole truth. He explained about his dragon powers, Rose and the Huntsclan, the situations between them, the crystal skulls, the destruction of all Huntsclan, and Rose losing all her memories. Brad took in all the information, and now he has an understanding about Jake's difficult life and why the smaller teen is so persistent in him to forget everything now. Jake still didn't face him. Brad stared down at the bottle in his hand.

Jake wondered if Brad even remembered him confessing his love. Did Jake even wanna hear him say those words again?

'No..' He thought.

It would only be extra painful. They stood there in silence for several moments.

"Jake, is this what you truly want?" Brad finally asked, a hint of hurt in his tone.

He nodded, his hands gripping tightly onto his jacket sleeves as he willed himself not to cry. Brad placed the bottle down on the nightstand, slowly standing up, and walked towards him. Wrapping arms around him from behind, his big hands splaying across Jake's stomach.

"I can't, I'm deeply in love with you." Jake gasped, blushing as Brad gently turned him around so that they were facing each other. "I wanna be part of both your worlds."

"Brad, you don't know what you're asking."

"I do, so please don't shut me out no more."

"I won't, if that what you want."

"I want you, Jay. Now I just have one question now."

"What's that?"

"Do you love me?" Brad cupped the side of his face gently brushing his thumb against his cheek.

"Y-Yes I do," Jake leaned into the touch.

"Say it." Brad purred.

"I love you, Brad."

They kissed gently. It soon turns into a more heated kiss. Brad quickly sheds Jake's jacket and t-shirt, kissing his neck with a mixture of licking and nibbling. The smaller teen shivered and moaned, tangling his fingers in the blonde hair. They had never gone this far before, but there was no turning back now.

A moment later, clothes were discarded and a half empty bottle of lube on the nightstand. The boy found themselves naked underneath the blankets. Brad hovering over his boyfriend as they continued their passionate kisses as the jock slowly pushed in, Jake whimpered at the feeling of being stretched, gripping the jocks biceps. They build up a steady rhythm, moaning together, never breaking eye contact. Jake reaches a hand up  caressing the blonde jock cheek who responds by grabbing his hand and placing a loving kiss on it.

In Jake's eyes, Brad's face was nearly covered by his drench hair in sweat, a faint blush as he icy blue eyes showed signs of desire and compassion.

While in Brad's eyes, Jake's eyes had tears in them but showed so much love and concerns, a deep radiation blush. He noticed how long his hair was now that all the gel was sweated out.

"Jake, Shit… I-I love you so much…"

"I lo-love you too… so much, Brad."

🎶It's tearin' up my heart when I'm with you But when we are apart, I feel it too And no matter what I do, I feel the pain With or without you🎶

Mr. Morton arrived home early in the morning the next day. He dropped his suitcase by the front door and sighed with relief to be back home, he went upstairs to check on his son.

'Probably still asleep.' He thought to himself as he approached his son bedroom door, knocking on the door a few times before quietly opening the door. 'Well, this is a surprise,'

He saw his son asleep in the bed, cuddling with a young fella. He noticed Brad had a few bandages and bruises. And how the boys were holding each other, he assumed something must have happened and looked like they worked it out.

Mr. Morton hummed happily. 'Special indeed... he'll tell me when he's ready.' He closed the door quietly and carried on with his day.

Jake woke up with his head resting on Brad's firm chest. The sun was shining in threw the window, illuminating his tanned skin. The young dragon sighed happily and snuggled down into the warm blankets, wrapping his arms around Brad’s waist. He didn't know if he'd ever woken up this content and happy before. It was perfect...

He looked up at Brad, still sleeping peacefully. The jock had a small smile, and Jake gently ran a hand through his blonde hair, a warm smile spread across his own face, listening to his boyfriend soft snoring.

"Morning," Brad softly spoke as he started to wake up.

"Morning..."  Jake shifted up and put his knees on either side of Brad's body and sat on his lap, careful of his wounds, straddling him. Brad responded immediately and grabbed his hips. resting their foreheads against together. Jake looked into his blue eyes. "Say it again, please."

Brad chuckled, "Babe, I'll say as many times as you want," Giving the smaller teen a kiss upon his lips, "I love you, Jake."

Jake beamed with happiness as he leaned over, giving his boyfriend a deep, passionate kiss.

Thursday, October 29th

The time has arrived Millard Fillmore middle school annual halloween dance hosted by the co-presidents Trixie and Spud. The students were pumped planning their costumes. After school, the quartet was in the gymnasium, getting the decorations in order. Several round tables with spooky cloth on them, candle lanterns litte plastic pumpkins, and mason jar with black purple artificial flower at the centerpieces. Backdrops and scene setters posted on the walls, Trixie stood in the center holding a blueprint, telling the guys where what goes. Jake, in his dragon form, hung up orange and black halloween theme bunting and streamers on the ceiling. Brad, with his sleeves rolled up, was carrying life-size spooky statues to their coners while Spud set up the speakers to the DJ booth.

"Mhm, everything is looking great, guys." Trixie praised them, "At this rate, we should be ready for this weekend."

"How about a short break?" Brad asked, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "I'm still exhausted from football practice."

"Fine, fine. Why don't you guys go get us some cold drinks."

Spud and Brad agreed and walked out of the gymnasium to the nearest vending machine. Jake detransformed and was about to follow them, but he was stopped when Trixie grabbed his shoulder.

"So, are you two going to the dance together?" She asked.

"We decided not to go to the dance. We're trying to keep it discreet around school." Jake explained, sitting down on the bleachers. "So, we're just gonna chill at my place."

"Seriously? You two have been dating for months now. You clearly love each other," Trixie rolled her eyes and took a seat beside him. "He knows your biggest secret. Dont'cha think it's time y'all take your relationship to a new level?"

If Jake was honest, he did want to stop keeping it a secret. He wants to be able to kiss Brad in the hallway and hold his hand as they walk to class. To have more of a normal teenager life.

"You do want to go with him, right?" Trixie asked, her question snapped Jake out of his thoughts.

"Of course, I would love to go to the dance with him. I just don't think we're ready yet." He ignored the sharp pain in his chest.

"Whatever you say, playa... Man, it's still so weird the idea of you two together of all people."

Jake laughed, "I get what you mean."

Brad put a dollar into the vending machine, getting a few soda cans. Spud stood beside the machine, fidgeting his unopened soda.

"Hey bro, now that we're friends,"

"I wouldn't go that far..." Brad chuckled,

"You have any advice on how to ask a girl to the dance you could spare me?"

"A girl? Or a center blonde cheerleader?"

Spud blush slightly, "I mean, you two seem like close friends. Maybe you could give me some advice on how to ask her out."

They started walking back to the gymnasium. Brad was amused how hopeless this loser was, not knowing that the girl he's pinning after was secretly into him. Stacey made him swear not to tell Spud.

"My advice is don't do nothing stupid. Just go up to her and simply ask her."

Spud nodded, "Speaking of which, are you gonna ask dude to the dance?"

He groaned, "Why did I know you were gonna ask me that."

"So you don't wanna go with him?"

"N-No, I'm not saying that!" Brad fluster, "We're just trying to keep things discreet from the entire school."

"Dude, nobody cares there a fair amount lgbtq students."

"Yeah, I know it's just complicated... I haven't even told my dad yet."

"So, who all knows about your secret?"

"Obviously you guys, and of course Stacey, and I believe Jake mentioned his sister found out about us."

"Dude, like Jake's grandpa once said. Love and courage go hand in hand one without the other is quicksand to love someone, therefore, is to stand not on solid ground but on-moving-sand..."

"And what exactly does that mean?"

Spud shrugs, "No idea, bro."

"Jesus, how does Jay deal with you on a daily basis?" Brad rolled his eyes.

The boy rejoined with Jake and Trixie taking a small break, chatting about random topics. Brad didn't miss a chance to notice his boyfriend slight change in mood. After their break, the gang got back to work. Jake transformed again, finishing his project while Brad helped Spud with the DJ lighting truss tower.

By the time it was getting really late, they managed to get everything almost done. The gang grabbed their belongings and left the school building discussing their next steps and costume shopping. Saying their goodbyes, Jake caught a ride with Brad.

"Why are you friends so obsessive us going to the dance together?"

"I dunno," He responded, staring out the window, watching as the cars and scenery passed them by. "I appreciate them accepting us and encourage us to be more open. I just don't feel like being the talk around school."

"I know whatcha you mean. I already have a terrible time trying to come out to my dad. Ever since he came back from his business trip, I don't know, he seems... odd."

"Odd in a bad way or a good way?"

"Odd as in, he seems more interested in what's going on in my life. It's weirding me out when my dad tries to have chick flick moments."

Jake hummed. Soon, his face began to a slight red when a thought came to his mind. "You don't think he might have caught us that day... at that moment?"

"Oh god!" Brad blushed from embarrassment, "I hope not... change the subject." He stopped the vehicle at a red light. "So what's our halloween plans?"

"Well, once my parents take Haley out trick or treating, we could have ourselves some treats and a horror movie maarathon."

"Sounds like a great idea. Do you count as one of the treats?"

"Down boy, you already got enough treats yesterday." Jake said, pulling down the collar of his jacket exposing multiple purple marks.

Brad wolfish grinned, "What can I say? I have a strong sweet tooth for Jake-bars."

The light turned green, and they took off. The young dragon occasionally glanced over at Brad, who was focused on the road. Jake giggled when Brad wiggled his nose. The jock never noticed when he did it. It reminded Jake of a rabbit whenever his boyfriend did it, and Jake thought it was the cutest thing.

"What's funny?" Brad asked. He glanced at the smaller teen with a raised brow.

Jake smiled and shook his head, "You're cute." He never told Brad about his wiggling nose habit. Brad reached over and grabbed Jake's hand, placing a tender kiss on it.

Friday, October 30th

"Whatcha mean you're not coming to dance?" Barron asked Brad, The football team just finished their practice and were now freshen up in the locker room. The boys were hyped up for the dance, bragging about their dates when one of the boys asked who Brad was going to the dance with, Brad made the mistake and told his team he wasn't attending.

Brad scoffed, putting on his shirts, "It's not a big deal. I'm allowed to skip one stupid dance."

"Oh, I get it. The big bad Bradster doesn't have a date." Willie teased, Brad really wasn't a fan of Willie. He always thought the other boy was obnoxious.

"Shut up! I could get a date with anyone... I'm just not interested right now." He growled.

"Y'know you haven't been yourself lately." Ricky pointed out, lacing his sneakers.

Brad arch a questionable brow, "What do you mean by that?"

"I mean, you haven't hit on any of the cheerleaders. You actually stop tormenting the nerds, and you just been so... mellow."

'Have I really changed that much?' Brad thought to himself, throwing his gear into his gym bag.

"Our star captain is not going soft on us, is he?" Jackson teased. The football team left the locker room, still harassing their captain despite Brad flushing face he tried his best to ignore them.

"Drop it, dudes, it's none of y'all business."

He was thankful his team shared one last laugh before dropping the topic and changing the subject unfortunately, lady luck decided to play a trick on him when a tall, slender, tan-skinned with long waving black hair girl approach him. Her name was Destiny she was popular and very and most definitely a spoiled daddy's girl, and Brad was not really interested in her.

"Hey Brad." Destiny greeted practically purring with that flirtatious smirk.

'"What's up, Destiny?" He greeted back, putting on his signature charm, trying to put on a show for his team.

"I heard you didn't have a date to the dance. How would you like to my date?"

"I dunno... I actually -"

"Yes! He'll most definitely will!" Ricky chimed in, putting his arm around Brad's shoulders.

"Huh?" Brad was dumbfounded, "W-Wait..."

"Great! I'll have Daddy rent us a cool limo." Destiny said, reaching inside her purse.

Brad was about to explain himself, but he couldn't get a word out when Destiny held up her finger, placing her cell phone to her ear, walking away.

"You idiots!" Brad snapped, freeing himself from Ricky's arm. "I already had plans tomorrow night!"

"Dude, you just got a date with the hottest girl in school." Barron said, "Now you have no choice but to attend the dance."

'Awe, man!' Brad groaned to himself.

"I was kind of focused to be Destiny date. The guys had me back into a coner." Brad explained. It was after school, and the quartet was finishing the gymnasium he and Jake were sitting on side blowing up balloons.

"I see..." Jake nodded, blowing up a balloon with the helium tank. "I guess it can't be help."

"I know we talked about not going to dance together, but uh, would you be upset if I went to the dance with her?"

"No, no, go ahead. It's okay. I won't get upset." Jake smiled, trying to hide the hurt he was feeling. He knew the jock wouldn't do anything to intentionally hurt him without consoling him first.

"You promise?" Brad plead, big puppy dog eyes.

Jake tied the balloon to the column stand before cupping both his boyfriend's cheeks, placing a kiss on his nose.

"I promise." After Jake said that there was the sharp pain again.

Brad grabbed his boyfriend waist and buried his face in his chest, "God, I love you."

Jake chuckled, "I would hope so."

Saturday, October 31st

Spud was walking through the corridor, holding a bouquet of quicksand cream roses. Thanks to the hint Brad gave him of Stacey's favorite flowers as Spud head towards the cheerleader locker rehearsing his lines. He turned the coner, and just as he suspected, the three cheerleaders were at Stacy's lockers chatting.

"No no no those shoes were totally you they'll go perfectly with your costume." Tracey says.

"Like serious. You should totally buy them." Stacey agreed.

"Seriously? We could go back to the mall now." Lacey says.

Spud took a deep breath and appeared the cheerleaders with sweaty hands.

"Good evening, ladies." Spud greeted them.

"Ew, it's potato boy."

"Geek hall is that away." Lacey pointed in the opposite direction as she and Tracey laughed at him.

"Now, now retract your claws, ladies," Stacey said, snapping her fingers. "I got this. Meet you at the mall in twenty minutes."

Tracey and Lacey gathered their belongings and walked away, still giggling. Stacey watched them til they were out of sight she turned back to Spud with her arm crossed.

"Okay, you have five minutes to speak, farm boy."

"I-I've been meaning to ask you something... I think you're really cool and smart... and... uhh, beautiful. I know you turned me down multiple times. I-I got you those flowers," Spud nervously stumbled over his words as he held the bougie towards the blonde cheerleader. "And... I was wondering if you'll consider to -"

Spud stopped talking when Stacey took the small bougie admiring it. She looked back at him. His hopeful deep brown puppy dog eyes. Stacey felt her cheek getting warm as she turned her back towards the boy she wouldn't admit to herself that she was blushing at Spud's dorky cuteness.

"I suppose you could be my date to dance," She turned her head, "But I get to pick out your costumes."

Spud beamed with happiness, "Sure!"

"I'll call you." Stacey grabbed her bag and walked off.

She smelled the flowers and smiled fondly before making a mental note to kill Brad later. Meanwhile, Jake and Trixie were at their lockers gathering their books. Jake scooped his belongings, shoving them into his bag. When he looked up and saw Brad down the hall leaning against the lockers chatting with Destiny, making her giggled. She flipped her hair and lightly touched his arm. Jake looked away, trying not to let it get to him, but the unbearable pain in his chest told him otherwise. Trixie picked up and followed his gaze.

"Jakey?"

"Silly me, I forgot my chemistry textbook." Jake smiled, walking the opposite direction from chemistry class. Trixie saw his eyes water as he walked off. She looked over at Brad and stormed over towards him.

"Have you already decided what costume you are going to wear?" Destiny asked.

"Sorry honey," Trixie interrupted, "But I need a word with this big hunk of idiot." She roughly grabbed Brad by the ear. He cried in pain as she dragged him away to a private area. "You really are oblivious, aren't you?"

"What do you mean?" He asked, rubbing his sore ear. "Jake said he was okay with it."

"Your boyfriend is obviously not okay with it." Trixie frowned, "Did you ever think that maybe he's only agreed to that just to spare you from his feelings?"

Brad was dumbfounded, "I-I didn't know he was upset." He scratched the back of his head, "I wouldn't suggest it if it was making him feel bad."

"Jake would never admit out loud, but it's obvious he wants to attend the dance with you as a couple." Trixie crossed her arms under her chest. "Look, I get it, and if it's one thing Jake would never do, it is revealed y'all secret even if it meant making him unhappy."

Brad sighed ashamed, "I gotta talk to him..."

"He's heading that direction." Trixie pointed.

Brad thanks her and headed the direction his boyfriend went. Jake walked into the restroom, dropping his bag by the sink, and lowered himself to the floor, burying his face into his knees. A sudden wave of sadness fell over him. Jake finally understood this feeling he was jealous. Of course, it would be jealousy. He thought he was okay with them being discreet at school. The dragon teen never thought he'd feel like this now. Jake hated how he was feeling, but he couldn't help himself.

'It hurts.'

"Jay?"

The young dragon flinched by the soft tone voice, but he didn't lift his head he didn't want Brad to see him crying. Brad kneeled down on one knee in front of his boyfriend, hesitating to touch the boy.

"Jay. Are you okay? What's with the long face? It's not like you."

"Oh, be quiet!" Jake snapped, his dragon eyes flared for an instant as he quickly stood up.

Brad flinched at the outburst, "Wha?"

"This whole mess is all your fault! I'm tired of this. I've never complained about having to hide our relationship from others, but you're going to the dance with someone else. It makes me feel unrequited, Argh! I hate your guts!" Jake roughly grabbed his bag and stormed out the restroom, leaving a confused heart shattered jock behind.

"You said what!" The duo exclaimed into Jake's ear. He called his friends over a three-way call and told them what had happened.

Jake groaned, "I'm totally the worst. I was upset and took it all out on Brad. Oh, maybe he hates me now,"

"It's not the end of the world, okay, so y'all had your first fight. Doesn't mean you guys are going to break up," Trixie explains, curling her hair with a facial sheet mask over her face.

"Has he tried to contact you?" Spud asked, tying his bow tie.

Jake flops back onto his bed, "No, he's probably getting ready with his date with Destiny..." he hated feeling jealous. "I gotta go. I hope you guys have fun."

He hung up before his friends could say anything he stared up at the ceiling tossing a baseball with his dragon tail. He brushed away the jealousy. Knowing Brad was going to the dance with someone else hurt, but still he shouldn't have lashed out at his boyfriend like that after all he gave Brad the 'Okay'. Jake took a deep breath.

The night of the dance was that full bloom all the students of Millard Fillmore dressed in their costumes. The gymnasium was lively crowded. The music blasted through the walls. Trixie stood at the gymnasium entrance dressed as Morticia Addams, long black dress and hair curly down her shoulders. Greeting each student and collecting their charity donation, Spud approach side of her dressed as the Mad Hatter his wonky clothing and top hat.

"It doesn't feel right to be here when our best bud is feeling down." Spud says.

Trixie sighed, "I agree. You go make sure everything is running smoothly, and we'll sneak out."

"You guys don't have to," The duo turned around to see their friend dressed as a rogue pirate, a bandana tied around his head and an eyepatch covering his left eye. "I'm not too late, am I?"

"You actually came?" Spud was excited.

"Yeah," Jake lifted the eyepatch from his eye. "I thought about it. Either be at home with my thoughts and be forced to take Haley trick or treating. Or be here with my friends and have a good time."

"I'm glad you made it, Jakie." Trixie pulled him into a warm hug, "Wouldn't want you to miss out on all the hard work we put into this."

Jake took the moment to admire the gymnasium smiling. "We really outdone ourselves," His smile soon disappeared. "Have y'all... seen him yet?"

"No, I think you two have the same idea of skipping out the dance." Trixie formed him, seeing the tension in his shoulders relaxed, and yet noticed the sadness in his eyes.

"C'mon, let's get our spooky on to the graveyard dance floor!" Spud hooked his arms around his friends arm's, pulling them to join the rest of the students on the dance floor, the trio dance to their hearts content.

Brad was sitting in the living room watching TV. Or more like it was watching him, Mr. Morton came downstairs gathering his work gear by the front door when he noticed his son was still wearing his t-shirt and sweatpants. Looking gloomy, he walked into the room.

"What are you still doing here?" Mr. Morton asked, "Aren't you supposed to be at your school halloween party?"

"I just don't feel like going, that's all..." Brad grumbled.

He shook his head, "Boyfriend problems?"

"Yeah, but after tonight, there might not be an 'us' anymo -" Brad was dumbfounded and sat up, glaring at his father. "Wait, you known all along?!"

Mr. Morton laughed, taking a seat next to his son. "I've known about you and the fella for a while now. I was waiting for you to come out when you were ready." He pat Brad's knee, "C'mon, what happened between y'all?"

Brad was touched that his father was being patient with him and seemed okay that he had a boyfriend.

"He hates my guts." Brad sighed in defeat. "We've planned to skip the dance and spend halloween alone together because we're trying to keep our relationship discreet but then my teammates kept patronizing me to the dance then this girl asked me to be her date and somehow I was forced into it. And now my boyfriend hates me. All because a few of my buds were getting suspicious of me not going to the dance like how could I have told them the truth?... I couldn't even come out to you."

"Why? You thought I'll disowned you or think you were disgusting?"

"Kind of..." Brad shrugged, "Your only son gay and have... well, I had a boyfriend."

"Don't be silly. You still have him."

"I made him feel... unrequited."

"Are you ashamed of him?"

"No! Of course not. I love everything about him!" Brad sheepishly blushed.

"So what's the problem? You love him, and I'm pretty sure he feels the same. I'm okay with who you are. You got the two most important people in your life on your side, so what are you scared of?"

Brad eyes widened, coming to realization, "I guess nothing."

"Look, son, I'm not as good at the chick flick moments as your mother was. Your sixteen years old, at some point in your life, you can't keep being afraid of what people would think of you."

"Thanks, dad."

"So what are you still sitting around for?" Mr. Morton stood up, putting his office cap on. "Get your customer on and go dance with your boyfriend."

Brad nodded with confidence as he jumped off the sofa and ran towards the stairs but stopped halfway when his father called his name.

"Yeah?"

"Bring the mystery boyfriend by someday so I can officially meet him."

Jake set on the sidelines eating his six piece of candy from the candy jar he tried to enjoy himself with his friends Jake watched everyone mingling with one another, having fun. But he couldn't stop thinking about Brad. Jake still felt guilty about their fight.

"Why are you sitting here sulking?"

The young dragon snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Stacey in her Queen of Hearts costume. She lifted her dressed a bit and took a seat in front of him. Her usual snotty cheerleader attitude face expression was now softened.

"You miss him, dontcha?" She asked.

Jake was fully aware that she knew about his and Brad's relationship and was probably aware that Jake was avoiding her friend. So there was no point lying to her.

"I just wished he was here..." Jake sighed, "With me..."

Stacey opened her mouth to comment, and then suddenly, something caught her eyes at the entrance she smirked as she stood up, fixing her dress.

"Well..." She took Jake's hands, pulling him to stand. "I know another hopeless idiot thinking the same thing."

Jake confusingly raised an eyebrow. Stacey rolled her eyes and turned him around, Jake eyes widened when he saw the blonde jock standing at the entrance wearing a roman gladiator costume. He was scanning the room almost as if he was looking something until his icy blue eyes locked with honey brown eyes.

"Go talk to him." Stacey whispered in his ears before gently pushing him forward.

The two boys met halfway and were now standing in front of each other with barely any space between.

"I never knew pirates can be so cute." Brad joked.

Jake's cheeks lit up in a faint blush at the words. "I thought you were coming with Destiny?"

"Nah, didn't really wanna come with her," Brad said. He took off his helmet. "I'm sorry, Jay, about the other day. I didn't mean to hurt you. I never would've gone with Destiny if you weren't okay with it."

"I'm sorry too," Jake says, "I didn't mean to say I hated you. I let my jealousy get the best of me and took out my frustration on you. I-I just don't like you being with someone else. You're mine and only mine."

“You don’t ever need to be jealous,” Brad pulled him into an embrace, "You know I love you, right?”

Jake really loves it when Brad tells him he loves him—especially when Brad says it first. “I love you too."

Brad pulled back just enough that his arms were still holding his boyfriend and looked him in the eyes. "In some hurtful way, it helped me realize I never want you to hate me or make you feel like you're not important to me. I want you to meet my dad, who apparently already knew about us."

Jake eyes widened with shock. "Wait, your dad actually knew about us the whole time?"

Brad chuckled, "Yeah, he was surprisingly accepting about it."

"Brad, that's amazing. But are you sure you're ready for that level?"

"I believe we're ready."

Trixie stood on stage with the DJ watching them interact. An idea came to her as she whispered into the DJ ear. He gave her a thumbs up, changing the upbeat music into a slow melody. The boys seem to notice the change of the music that was now playing a slow dance. Brad remembered what his dad told him and smiled to himself.

"May I have this dance?" Brad asked, putting his helmet back on, extending his hand.

"R-Really? Everyone will see..." Jake questioned.

"Stop talking..." Brad cupped his boyfriend's face, leaning downward kissing him. Jake was taken back by the sudden action, but it didn't take him long to melt into the kiss. "I wanna dance with my boyfriend." He says, extending his hand once more.

Jake smiled, blushing, taking hold of the taller teen hand. Brad gave his hand a light squeeze, escorting them to the dance floor with everyone else. Brad rests his right hand lightly on his boyfriend’s left shoulder blade, Jake place hand on the jock's right shoulder as much as he can with their height differences. Holding each other's free hand as they swayed back and forth slowly, Jake looked into Brad’s eyes longingly, getting lost in an icy blue sky.

Brad moved in and pressed his lips against Jake’s. Jake tilted his head and kissed back sweetly. Ignoring the few whispers. Hanging by the snack table Trixie, Spud, and Stacey watched their friends slow dance.

"Well, it's about time." Stacey smirked.

"I guess we have to pretend to like each other now." Trixie said, proudly smirking.

Stacey rolled her eyes, "Wow you're really good at it." She said sarcastically and took Spud's hand, leading him to the dance floor.

Trixie shook her head amusingly. She didn't quite fully understand her bestfriends taste in partners as she continued to watch them dance, fondly staring at each other. She could see the deep love they have, and for that, Trixie was happy that her magical friend could have somewhat of a normal life. Kyle dressed as Gomez Addams came up to her, offering a black rose.

"Cara Mia."

Trixie giggled, accepting the rose, "Mon Cher."

🎶Baby, I'm dancin' in the dark with you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass while listenin' to our favourite song

When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath

But you heard it, "Darling, you look perfect tonight"🎶

The next afternoon, Mr. Morton was lounging in the living room watching a movie, foot prop on the coffee table, a cold beer in one hand, and a bowl of popcorn in the other. This is one of his rare days off he could fully relax. He heard the sound of keys unlocking the door soon being opened he smirked at the faint laughter and paused the movie, and turned his attention behind him.

"Well, who do we have here?" He asked, his son and same boy he saw a few times walking in the room holding hands.

"Um, dad, this is Jake, my boyfriend." Brad said. "Jay, this is my dad Daniel Morton."

Jake was lightly blushing, "Pleasure to meet you, sir." Sure, he and Brad had the conversation of meeting the jock's father, and he was confident at first, but now he felt nervous.

"Jake, nice to finally have a name of the mystery fella dating my son." Mr. Morton turned his attention back to the TV, resuming the movie. "I just have one question for you. How fast can you chug a beer?"

"Huh?" Jake questioned, looking at his boyfriend, who rolled his eyes

"He's joking," Brad assured his boyfriend. "And he's not funny."

"I think I'm hilarious," Mr. Morton laughed, "Y'all care to join me?"

"Maybe next time, dad. We're gonna go chill in my room."

The boys went up to Brad's room, Mr. Morton hummed, shrugging his shoulders and turning the tv volume up just in case. The next Monday, when Jake arrived at school, much to his surprise, he and Brad were still the talk around school. But none of that matters to him, not when he has an amazing boyfriend waiting at his locker and a good morning kiss in the middle of the corridor, showing everyone that both boys belong to each other. By lunchtime, Brad decided to join his boyfriend and friends at their table. He even convinced Stacey to tag along now that her and Spud are officially dating. Spud was fighting with Brad over Jake's dessert, and Stacey tried to convince Trixie to rejoined the cheerleaders. Jake watched them and smiled with happiness, and there the unlikely friendships formed.

"We should have a triple date!" Spud announced,

"NO!" Everyone exclaimed in synced.

WOW😲 Over 2,000 hits I honestly never expected my story to be that popular like I did this just for the fun of it😅 I just wish there were more fanarts of Jake and Brad to inspire me more. But I truly appreciate everybody taking the time to read my chapters, leaving Kudos and being patient with me. I have very bad ADHD so I have a difficult time staying focused.

It was a warm afternoon, Brad stood in front of the arcade, one hand buried in his pocket and the other hand holding his phone to his ear.

"You know you're late, right?" Brad says into the phone.

At the same time across town, the american dragon was catching a gang of hobgoblins causing a ruckus through the Magus Bazaar, Jake had his bluetooth earbud in, he was supposed to meet up with his friends at arcade to start off their spring break.

"I know. I know. Tell that to these guys!" Jake responded, dodging random objects that were thrown at him by the hobgoblins. "Hold that thought." Jake released a fire breath hitting the first hobgoblin in the rear. The hobgoblin cried in pain and jumped into the nearest water barrel. Jake flew past him, not before hitting him over the head with the barrel lid.

"Better hurry your darling son already on his fourth energy smoothie." Brad stated, looking inside the arcade. "Mama Bear doesn't look too happy."

Jake scoffed, "Why do you keep referring Spud as me and Trixie's love child?"

"Because y'all baby him, and you know it,"

Jake can practically hear the shit eating smirk on his boyfriend's face. "Well, welcome to the family because he's starting to have an effect on you too. Don’t think I haven't noticed."

"What can I say..." Brad turned to look at his hyperactive loser friend. "He's rubbing off on me besides gotta start somewhere when the time comes for us to have kids."

"Wait, you wanna start a family together?"

Brad sheepishly blushed, "Well, yeah, one day I do wanna marry you and have a family, but how about after we graduate college and then we'll have that conversation."

Jake was bashfully blushing, his heart felt so warm that Brad had already planned their future together. The thought of that put a smile on his face. When Jake wasn't paying attention, one of the hobgoblin threw a pail of rotten fish at him, hitting him straight in the face. Jake was disgusted by the smell and growled, catching up with the second hobgoblin grabbing it by the ankle.

"You guys are ruining my spring break!" He growled, and spiral spinned the creature at high speed, tossing the hobgoblin into a clothesline as it got tangled up, leaving one last hobgoblin to catch. "Give me like 20 minutes, and I'll be there as fast as I can. I got one left to go."

The boys hung up, and Jake chased the hobgoblin into the hidden fairies lake. He was just about to catch up when a bright blue light appeared in front of him.

"Say, wha?!" Jake exclaimed when a kid shot out the light slamming into him. Jake was knocked out of his dragon form as he and the kid fall to the ground.

Jake set up rubbing the sore on the back of his head. He looked up and saw the hobgoblin was nowhere in sight.

"Awe, man!" Jake whined. He turned towards the mysterious kid. "You okay, kid?" The boy nodded.

The asian teen stood up, brushing the grass and dirt off him, "Jesus, you can't just go around jumping on people like that. Didn't your parents teach you that's dangerous?"

The kid slowly turned his attention to the older teen, and Jake gasped from surprised. The kid was like a spitting image of himself, but the kid had blue eyes. The kid had jet-black spiky hair with a strand of blonde falling down his face. He was wearing a burgundy shirt with black long sleeves with blue shorts and black sneakers. The kid sports small fang on the side of his mouth. If Jake could guess, he looked about the same age as Haley.

"You look like me..." Jake managed to speak.

"I look like my mom." The kid spoke, narrowing his eyes.

"Ok, so where is your mom?" The kid shrugged his shoulders. "Well, a kid like you shouldn't be wandering in a place like this. I'll take you to the police station." Jake transformed, "Not like you're gonna remember anything."

He exposes back and lowers his body, not giving Jake the chance to say anything. He is surprised when the kid climbs onto his back, putting his little arms around Jake's neck as if the kid had done this before. Jake was puzzled on why this mysterious kid wasn't phased by his dragon form, but he didn't have time to question it he was already late as it is. So they took off flying towards the police station. Unaware of the same blue light reappeared, only this time, two mysterious guys stepped out.

"According to the coordinates, the brat portal spawned here." The caucasian man said, checking the high-tech device on his wrist.

"Well, there's no sign of him here now." The ebony man said, scouting the area. "I suggest we split up to cover more grounds."

"Agreed."

Both men's pulled out a metal cube and dropped them to the ground as the cubes unfolded into hoverboards. The men stepped onto them, and both men took off in different directions.

When Jake and the kid arrived at the police station, looking around for an available cop.

"Jake?" A voice called out, both boys turned to the directions, seeing Mr. Morton walking towards them, stirring a cup of coffee. "Aren't you supposed to be with my son at the arcade?"

The dragon teen sighed in relief and explained the situation to Brad's father minus the dragon details. "Thanks for watching him Mr.Morton." Jake says.

"No problem." Daniel says, turning his attention to the little kid sitting comfortably on his lap. "You sure he's not one of your relatives? The boy looks a lot like you."

"I'm positive." Jake sighed. He couldn't shake off this feeling like he knew the kid. "Anyways, I super late meeting up with my friends."

When Jake finally arrived at Arcade, he was panting who knew flying all over the world could be exhausting. He spotted Brad and Trixie playing mini golf chatting as he walked towards them. They noticed him and smiled.

"Yo Jakey, who's the little cutie pie?" Trixie asked,

Jake was confused, "Cutie pie? What cutie pie?"

"Uh, the one beside you that looks just like you." Brad smirked, pointing at the small figure next to his boyfriend.

"Huh?" Jake looked down, nearly screaming when he saw the mysterious kid standing right next to him. "What are you doing here?!"

Suddenly, Spud appeared wearing goofy looking glasses, "Whoa, these glasses are awesome. I'm seeing double Jake's." Trixie snatched the glasses off Spud's face. "Who's your mini me?"

"He's not my mini me. I bumped into the kid earlier, then dropped him off at the police station." Jake explained to his friends.

"I dunno playa he look awfully like you." Trixie says, examining the kids' feature.

"Except his eyes are blue, kind of look like you're Brad," Spud commented, Brad blink clueless.

Jake was just about to repeat his question from a moment ago when the arcade speakers announced the next party for the laser tag teams.

"Our team is next, but we can't just leave this kid..." Brad said, noticed the kid was no longer there. "Where'd he go?"

"He was just right here." Trixie stated, looking around the area.

Jake groaned, "What is with this kid!"

After their game, a best two out of three Trixie's team won, Spud complained because they were both more athletic, and they played a few games the arcade provided. During that time, Brad's dad called checking if they had seen the mysterious kid, which Brad confirmed, and told his dad the kid had disappeared again. Later that evening, Jake came home with Brad. The couple was headed towards asian teen bedroom. Jake was more exhausted than he already was. What a way to start off a spring break, chasing hooligan hobgoblin and dealing with a mysterious kid who didn't make another appearance the rest of the day. He was glad. Now, all the young dragon wanna do is lay across his bed with his boyfriend and get a good nap in before dinner.

"You sure your parents won't mind me staying for dinner?"

"Oh, please, so my dad can miss more opportunity to embarrass me to my boyfriend." Jake playfully rolled his eyes, Brad laughed. He opened his door and turned on the light, he jump scare when he saw the kid curled up on his bed asleep.

Jake blood ran cold, "You again!" He's voice startle the kid awake he rub the sleepiness from his eyes. "What are you doing here?!" The kid didn't respond, which only made Jake more annoyed. "Alright, kid, just who the heck are you?"

"I-I'm Braxton..." The kid introduced himself sitting up.

"Ok Braxton, where did you come from, and how did you get in my room?" Jake questioned, Braxton didn't respond again. Instead, he pulled out a certain device from underneath his shirt.

"What's that?" Brad asked curiously.

 "Yo, isn't that the..."

"Ah, the uchrono hourglass, fun times we had with this aye kid?" Fu said playfully, nudging Jake.

"Time travel is very dangerous for a child his age." Grandpa spoke, sipping his tea. "It's not a toy children should be playing with."

"Okay, so like, couldn't we just zap him back to whatever timezone he from?" Jake asked. Slightly annoyed by the little boy casually sitting on his boyfriend's shoulders.

"Technically, yes, but no, it seems the uchrono is out of power, so we'll have to wait tomorrow for it to fully charge once more." Fu dog said, scratching behind his ear with his back paw.

"I guess there's nothing else we can do about it." Brad says, noticing his boyfriend cute jealousy.

The asian teen sighed and looked up at Braxton, "So, are you from the future or past?" He questioned,

"Hmph!" Braxton turned his head away.

Jake growled, "You snot-nose brat, what's your problem?"

"Now, young one, it's been a long day. For now, young Braxton shall stay here overnight, and tomorrow, we'll figure out when and how to send him back to his timezone."

The next morning, Jake blinked, letting his eyes adjust to the sunlight coming in the window. He couldn't describe it, but he felt more at ease this morning. He soon realized there was an extra body heat pressing against him.

"Brad?" Jake mumbled. He thought maybe Brad had sneaked in his bed. It wouldn't be the first time they snuck into each other's bed in the middle of the night. But the body shape in his arm was way too small to belong to his boyfriend. In a slight panic, Jake lifted up the blanket, and there Braxton was. Sound asleep curled up against Jake's stomach. At some point, Jake must've wrapped an arm around the kid without knowing it.

Jake wanted to yell at the kid, but all the rage vanish when he saw how content Braxton looked, Jake prompted his head in his hand, watching the kid sleeping. He lightly chuckled, running a finger through the boy blonde strands of hair. Jake thought maybe he'd been a little too harsh on the kid, and perhaps Braxton was just scared and alone. The asian teen glanced at his clock.

7:15am

It was still early. A few more hours of sleep wouldn't hurt beside he was on spring break, and that was enough to motivate him as he settled, laying back down pulling the blanket back up this time not covering Braxton's face. Jake closed his eyes and exhaled. He couldn't explain why this felt comfortable and weirdly like he had done this before and the weird urge wishing Brad was here with them.

That evening, Jake and Braxton returned to Gramps's shop only to find it empty. The dragon teen called out to anyone but received silence. That's when he found a note on the table from Fu Dog.

'Dear kid me & Gramps to the magical realm for an emergency call hopefully nothing to worry you about be back shortly.'

Jake put the note down and turned to look at Braxton, standing there fumbling with his little fingers, noticing the kid looked nervous and unease.

"Don't worry, Braxton." Jake approached the kid, crouching down, taking his little hands into his own. "I promise we'll safely get you back home." Jake smiled. Braxton gasped as he opened his mouth to speak when a medium explosion intervened. Jake protectively grabbed Braxton, shielding them the smoke and dust covered the air.

"Finally found you, brat." A voice said. Once the smoke cleared, two figures stood between the giant hole in the wall. Jake didn't recognize them, but he did recognize those maroon uniforms and the red symbol.

"Huntsclan?!" Jake spoke, feeling Braxton cling tightly to him, clearly afraid.

"We've been looking everywhere for you now." The ebony man said, brushing off his knuckle. Did he really punch the hole in the wall? "Well, now isn't this a pleasant surprise. We should've figured you'll come to him."

The caucasian man step towards them. "Be a good boy and hand over the dragonheart. I promise I'll make your death fast and painless." He laughed.

Jake head shot up then looked at the kid, "The dragonheart?" Wait, he recognizes that obnoxious laughter. "A-Are you guys those two losers 88, 89? But that's impossible. You guys should have been annihilator years ago."

89 snickered, "That's true, but we were not like the other hunt's clan. We weren't born with the birthmark of the dragon."

"And thanks to that, we were able to rebuild the Huntsclan in the future." 88 explained, "We're not the same scared weak little boy we were before. Now we're bigger and stronger."

Jake understood now they're from Braxton's timezone, and they followed him here thinking he has possession of the dragonheart.

"You can call us the new Huntmasters, and once we get that dragonheart, we'll make the ultimate wish and bring back the entire hunts clans under our control." 89 explained, taking a step towards the boys.

"The ultimate wish?" Jake repeated, clearly confused. He looked up at the caucasian man standing over them, 89 smirked, and smacked the dragon teen away, crashing into the desk. Braxton cried out by the sudden action.

"Now hand over the dragonheart." 89 commanded, as he reached out to grab the frighten kid but was intervened when a potion bottle brust in his face, creating a powder smoke.

"Run Braxton!" Jaked ordered, Braxton snapped of his fear and ducked between 89 legs, making a run for it.

"Stop him!" 89 coughed, barking at his partner.

88 stepped in front of the kid, blocking the exit Braxton growled, jumped up, vaulting over the ebony man's head, and shout out a familiar phrase. Jake was at awe when Braxton's body transformed, and his dragon form resembled Jake's, the scales were burgundy with navy blue colors wings on the outside and yellow inside, navy blue stripe and blonde hair going down his back to his tail. Braxton flew out through the hole. 88 stepped onto his hoverboard and went after the kid.

Jake shook his head, getting forced again. "Right, dragon u- Arghhh!" He screamed out after being blasted by green plasma energy, collapsing on the floor. 89 lower his gauntlet hand, stepping over the unconscious teen, getting onto his own hoverboard following after his partner.

Mean while Brad was cruising on the road one hand on the steering wheel while the other arm resting on the open window fingers tapping to the beat of the radio. He was meeting his boyfriend at his Gramps's shop. Out of instinct, he looked up in the sky and saw a small dragon flying pass, then two men's following. Brad turned the steering wheel and pushed down on the gas, speeding down the road following.

A blast of green plasma energy sends Braxton sliding across a construction site ground. "Help me... mommy, daddy." Braxton whimpered detransforming.

"Playtime is over!" 89 raised his hand.

"Hey! Cut it out!" Brad shouted. He ran towards the little boy he kneeled down, picking the kid up, holding him tightly in his arms. "Just who are you guys?"

"We are the new leaders of the Huntsclan destroyers of all magical creatures." 88 introduced,

"Huntsclan? I heard of you guys. You're nothing but a bunch of creeps picking on helpless kids."

"We don't have time for this... get rid of him." 89 said to this partner.

88 bash his knuckles together, "With pleasure."

When Grandpa and Fu returned to the shop, they were alarmed by the destruction and the young dragon unconscious on the floor.

"Ei yah! Jake." Grandpa gasped as he and Fu help the boy up. "Are you alright? What happened?"

"Huntsclan... from the future... Braxton... need help." Jake managed to say, slowly regaining conscience.

"So it's young Braxton they're after? There were alerts that the Huntsclan were lurking around." Grandpa informed, "I'll try to locate Braxton."

Grandpa stopped in his tracks when Jake held his hand out in front of him. Jake groaned, gaining his own balance, wobbling towards the hole. "No, G, Braxton is my responsibility, and I won't let those clowns hurt him."

"Kid, don't push yourself too much. You look seriously hurt." Fu said, trying to reason with the boy. "Let Gramps handle it."

Jake didn't listen as he transformed, taking off like a jet through the hole in search of Braxton and the Huntsclan.

Brad let out a grunt as he stumbled backward after being punched in the face. He panted heavily. His face was slightly bruised, and his clothes were torn, exposing cut wounds from 88 plasma energy assassin knuckle blades. Brad spit out a bit of blood he was putting up a good fight, but compared to 88 skills, he was still no match. No matter how badly it was looking, he needed to protect Braxton. He just had to last long enough until his magical boyfriend arrived.

"You're one tough kid," 88 says, slowly stepping towards the jock, cracking his knuckles. "I'll give you another chance to step aside. This doesn't involve you."

"It does, when bastards like you, threaten the lives of children!" Brad growled, keeping Braxton behind him.

"Just finish him already." 89 commented, checking his wrist device. "We wasted enough time."

88 shook his head chuckling. "Such a shame you could've lived a longer life." He powered up his assassin knuckle.

"Brad, please, you don't have to protect me it's me they're after I-I don't want you to die!" Braxton pleads, he grabbed onto Brad's leg, looking at him with tearful blue eyes.

Brad weakly chuckled, ruffling the kid's hair. "Don't be silly, no way I'mma let these two clowns lay a finger on you."

Braxton gasped as he reminisced of a man ruffling his hair, saying the exact same words. 'Don't be silly, Braxton.' Braxton snapped out his thoughts when he felt the jock plant his feet on the ground.

88 smirked and charged towards them as Brad made no intention to move. 88's blade was just about to make contact with Brad's chest. 88 jumped back when a blast of fire intervened. Brad and Braxton looked up with relief to see the american dragon soaring towards the boys landing in front of them.

"You guys okay?" Jake asked with deep concerns.

Brad collapsed on the ground, overwhelmed. "I've been better always happy to see you, though." He weakly smiled before fainting.

"You were so brave." Jake smiled fondly, lying his boyfriend against a stack of steel beams then glared at the Huntsclan. "Leave them to me."

"So you decided to finally show up." 89 said, stepping beside his partner, powering up his plasma gauntlet glove. "You sure took your time."

"Sorry to make you wait for your butt whooping." Jake responded, taking flight into the sky. 88 and 89 got on their hoverboards and followed after the american dragon, 89 fired plasma energy through his gauntlet as Jake zigzagg dodging counter attacking with his fire breath. He soared to the side, grabbing a metal pipe that he used to deflect against 88's knuckle blades.

"You don't stand a chance against us." 88 says, pushing his weight against the teen.

Jake grunt, "What can I say? I'm too stubborn to give up."

"And that's going to cost you your life." 89 responded, taking hold of Jake's tail, sending bolts of electricity through his body before flinging him to the ground.

"Jake!" Braxton cried out running towards him. "Are you okay?"

89 aimed his hand at the small kid, "Your next brat!" He fired another energy. Jake quickly grabbed Braxton and flew out of the way just in time.

"Mommy, I'm sorry." Braxton whispered to himself as he lightly touched Jake's arm. Jake eyes widened.

88 appeared beside them, punching the dragon teen, sending him and Braxton to a nearby construction wall where Jake yelp in pain when he hit the wall while shielding the kid as they hit the ground. Braxton wiggled out of Jake's unconscious arms.

"Jake, wake up!" Braxton sobbed, "Don't leave me!"

Jake's eyes stirred slowly opening as he glanced at the smaller boy. 'He's naughty, mysterious, major brat, and he hogs my bed,'

"Jake?" Brandon whimpered,

'But something about him, oh, I just can't help liking the litte spore,'

"Ready to die?" 89 said, appaching them, Braxton flinched, turning around as his blood ran cold with frighten staring helpless at the caucasian man. "Time is wasting."

"Enough of your stupid time pines." Jake says, struggling to regain his strength. Grabbing onto Braxton, he pulled him slightly closer. "I-I'm not letting you or anybody take him. You hear me. Nobody takes him without facing me first." Jake's red eyes glared at 89, his dragonheart started to glow, answering to his strong desire.

Jake smiled at Braxton and put the kid on his back, telling him to hang on tight as Jake spread his wings and took flight once again. Heading straight to 88, the ebony man growled, throwing his fist at the dragon teen who elegant dodged to the side and then wrapped his dragon tail around 88's neck pulling him off his hoverboard before launching him at a pile wooden crates boxes.

"Damn you!" 89 shouted, putting his palm together, and fired a huge energy beam.

Jake turned his attention to the caucasian man, summoning the power of the dragonheart, and released a white flame that has a red-orange flame spiraling around it as the two energies clash against each other's. Braxton watched with astonished his mind reminisced of a different man speaking to him.

'I can't do it. I just can't.'

'Yes, you can. You can do anything as long as you believe in yourself, and you'll be unstoppable.'

'Mommy, I trust in my power!' Braxton transformed and flew beside Jake, overcoming his fear a light illuminated from his small body as a duplicate dragonheart necklace appeared around Braxton's neck, he was stunned.

Braxton's dragonheart started to resonate with Jake's, and the two dragons made eye contact. Braxton seemed unsure that was until Jake slightly nodded. Braxton smiled with confidence, and just like the asian teen, Braxton gathered the energy of his dragonheart, releasing his own white flame combining with Jake's. Overpowering 89, the man screams out in pain being blasted into the ground. As the caucasian man laid there unconscious, his uniform was half burnt, exposing 90° burns on his skin.

88 stood up, pushing broken woods off him, noticing his partner. "89!" 88 exclaimed, "Huh?" He felt a tap at his shoulder he turned he head back.

"Remember me?" Brad smirked, drawing his fist back before sucker punching 88 between the eyes and nose, knocking the ebony man out cold. "Serves you right."

Jake and Braxton flew towards Brad detransforming. Both boys jumped into the jock's open arms.

"You were great, Braxton." Jake praised, Brad agreed.

Braxton happily blushed he looked down as his dragonheart started disappearing. The sound of a beeping alarm grabbed the trio attention, realizing it was coming from 89 devices, and with that, 88 and 89 bodies started pixelating till their bodies faded away into a blue light.

"I guess their time ran out," Brad joked, receiving a groan from the other two for his lame pine.

"My life never seems to get any easier when I'm dealing with three of you now." Trixie says, applying gramps special ointment over Brad's bare wounds.

Brad hissed at the pain, "Thanks, Trix."

Jake, Spud, and Braxton were sweeping cleaning up the damages as gramps reorganized his book collections, Fu walked into the room.

"Good news, the uchrono hourglass is fully charged. Now we can get young Braxton back to his timezone." Fu announced, giving the small device to Braxton.

"Thanks, fu, you're the best." Braxton said, scratching behind the fu's ear. Suddenly, the uchrono activated, and a bright blue portal appeared behind Braxton. Everyone looked at the portal, preparing for what was gonna happen.

"Braxton Lucas Morton Long!" A voice beyond the portal called out. An asian man stepped out of the portal he looked about in his early 30s. He has long, spiky jet-black hair with green highlights, the back hair length passing his shoulders with a goatee. His brown eyes showed signs of worry at the young kid.

"Mommy!" Braxton exclaimed happily as he ran into the man arms being lifted into a bear hug.

"Do you have any idea how many timezones we had to travel to finally find you?" The man complained, but there was no hint of anger in his tone only concerned and relieved.

"I'm sorry." Braxton apologized.

"Go easy on him babe, the important thing is he's safe." A different voice said. As another grown man appeared out of the portal, a bit older than the other man, he had blonde hair, the sides was buzz cut, and a short boxed beard. He took in their surrounding. "Well, talk about a blast in the past." He whistled.

Everyone was dismayed and turned their attention to Jake and Brad. The two boys looked disbelief.

Brad slowly stood up and stepped a bit closer to the grown men. "Are you... are you guys us from the future?" He asked, breaking the strong silence.

"In about 30 years." Future Brad answered, playfully pinches the little boy cheek. "I hope he wasn't too much trouble."

"No trouble, what's so ever we were just about to send him back." Gramps assured them. "What ever happened to the two huntsclan members?"

"No need to worry about them. We turned them in to the new dragon counselor." Future Jake responded as he winked at his past Gramps. Lao Shi eyes widened. "Won't be seeing those clowns ever again."

"What about the future us?" Trixie asked, washing the oil off her hands.

"Yeah! Do I become a brilliant astronaut who discovers the truth of real aliens?" Spud questioned only to receive his hat being down over his face by future Brad.

"Why ruin the surprise dweeb." The blonde man teased.

"We best get back to our time zone. Thank you, guys, for keeping Braxton safe." Future Jake said, putting Braxton down before taking his little hand as future Brad took the other hand. As they were about to stepped into the portal.

Jake snapped out his confusion phase. "H-Hold on!" He called out, their future selves stop and turn back around. Jake's face was crimson red, "Braxton called you, mommy... does that mean... could he be...."

Future Jake chuckled, "Jake, Brad, meet your future child Braxton Morton Long." Braxton looked at his past parents, playfully sticking his tongue out.

"Say wha!?" Everyone shouted in sync.

"Braxton is..." Spud started.

"Jake and Brad..." Trixie says.

"Son?" Brad finished.

"H-How is that even possible?" Jake exclaimed.

Future Jake blushed, "Turns out, I'm a male carrier."

"A male carrier? Meaning I-I can get pregnant?"

"Well, it's not unheard of," Fu explained, placing a magical book on the floor as a hologram dragon appeared. "Just like male seahorses, some male dragons can give birth. You just happen to be one of them, a-goo-goo."

Braxton ran over to Brad and Jake, giving them one last hug, "Thank you for everything. I'll see you soon." He smiled, running back to his parents, taking their hand's once more as the trio stepped into the portal, closing behind them.

"So I gave birth to Braxton... Brad and I had a child together..." Jake processed the thought. He looked over his shoulder when he felt someone kiss the top of his head, seeing his boyfriend fondly smiling at him. Jake blushed, feeling a warm, fuzzy feeling of happiness inside.

It was the middle of the night in all the citizens were sound asleep throughout New York. Except for one dragon teen who was having a terrifying nightmare as he laid in the bed gripping the blanket tossing and turning, he groaned unpleasantly.

Jake didn't know where he was. Everything was ruined and blasted with shadowy blue flames. The sounds of cries and bloody screams pitched his ears as he panicked in fear. Suddenly, a shadow face appeared in the blue flames.

"Can you hear them?" The deep gravity voice asked, "Hear the cries of those who stood against me doom to wonder the lands of death."

Jake stared at the face and then down at his own hands. He was holding his boyfriend in his arms, noticing the jock wasn't moving nor breathing. Brad's corpse had his hands over the hole pierce through his body.

Jake whimpered, "N-No, please... stop this..."

"Prepare yourself, american dragon, for an eternity of anguish!" The face roared.

"Ah!" Jake gasped awake, panting heavily. He ran a hand through his sweaty hair, Jake took in a deep breath and sighed. This was the third night he had the same dream. It seemed like the dreams were getting intense each time, whatever his dreams were trying to warn him about. Jake didn't like it one bit. A light illuminated, Jake looked over on the nightstand. The dragonheart was reacting. Even the crystal could tell something truly terrifying were about to happen.

"Jay?" A sleepy voice said softly.

Jake cursed under his breath. He forgot Brad was sleeping beside him. "Sorry, I didn't wake you, did I?"

"Are you alright?" Brad asked, sitting up in the bed whipping some of the sweat of his boyfriend forehead.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine, just a crazy dream, nothing to worry about." Jake responded, leaning into Brad's hand when he started caressing his cheek. "Let's get some rest. We got a big trip in the morning."

Brad agreed as the boys struggled back into the blanket, Brad scooted closer, pressing his chest against his boyfriend back, wrapping his arms firmly around Jake's body as their legs were tangling together. Brad sighed as he heard Jake’s breathing even out, the steady, deep breaths confirming that he had, at least, fallen back asleep. The truth is Brad was awake the whole time. He knew Jake wasn't as fine as he liked to say and knew that something or someone had his boyfriend scared.

"Welcome to Hong Kong, beloved family and daughter's husband." Gramps said, with excitement that's the rest of the family unload their luggage from the cab. "Come, I'll show you to your rooms."

Gramps escorts them to their shared room, a large lovely three bedroom, one room for Johnathan and Susan, another room for Trixie and Haley, and then lastly, the boys' room, Gramps's and Fu's hotel room was across the hall. After everyone settled in, Jake entered the main living room, where he found his dad at the table surrounded by books as Johnathan was writing notes from a book with such interest.

"Hey, dad, do you think that maybe we could dial down the crazed sightseeing on this vacation a little bit?" Jake asked. Honestly, he was a bit tired from the long flight but also the nightmares.

"Oh, don't worry, Jake." Johnathan stated. He stood up, holding a piece of paper that unfolded, revealing a long list, nearly landed across the room. "I've narrowed our 'must-see' list to a mere 748 sights and/or attractions."

"But, dad, isn't this a time for you to, you know, chill out and get to know your family?"

"Oh, of course, Jake. This is my chance to see where your mom's side of the family comes from. I don't want to miss a single solitary thing." He answered. Sitting back down, grabbing a book, analyzing it.

Jake sighed, walking away when he was out of everyone's sight he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, unfolding it. It was a photo of him and Rose at the homecoming dance. Jake never thought he'd have the chance to see her again. But he knew she was here, in Hong Kong. He felt wrong and maybe a bit selfish for wanting to see her one last time like he was going behind Brad's back, Jake wished for Rose to have a happy life even if it doesn't include him Jake accepted that and let her go.

"Ah! I still can't believe Gramps is springing for us to tag along on the big family vacation." Trixie says. She and Spud were lounging in the jacuzzi when Brad walked onto the balcony. "Hey, Brad. What's wrong? Water too hot for you?"

Brad sighed, leaning against the balcony bar. "It's Jake... I'm concerned about him."

"Whatcha mean?" Trixie questioned,

"Have you guys noticed he's been jumpy and exhausted looking lately?"

"Now that you mention it, he was a bit unease on the plane you would think for a magical dragon he'll be used to flying." Spud says.

"No, it's something else. Jake has been having nightmares. I don't know specifically what it could be, but it's obviously got him badly shaken."

"You try talking it about to him?" Trixie asked,

"I tried the first time. He brushed it off as nothing, then it happened again last night. He didn't know I was awake. I wish I knew what is eatin’ him."

"Who eatin' what?" Jake asked as he stepped onto the balcony with his friends.

"Uh, Fu." Brad stated, "He ate most of my snacks on the plane."

"I'm sorry about him. Fu can be a gluttony." Jake apologized, pressing a kiss upon his boyfriend cheek before taking in the view. "Come on. Let's kick back and enjoy the view. We got the harbor over there, the city down there, and yo, look at those hills."

"The tallest one is called Victoria Peak." Gramps explains as he and Fu joined the teens.

"Yep, but it's known by the locals as the back of the dragon." Fu commented,

"The first dragon temple was built on that very summit thousands of years ago." Gramps finished explaining. The sound of water slashed as Trixie and Spud existed the hot tub.

"Come on, boys. Let's just rotate back inside and dial for some room service." Trixie said, going back inside.

"Yup!" Spud agreed, sniffing the air. "I think I smell some dragon business in the air." Brad pushed Spud back inside before he himself went in. He looked at his boyfriend with one last concern smile.

"Come on, G. I'm on vacation here, remember?" Jake exclaimed.

"I am sorry, young dragon, but the timing of this vacation is no coincidence."

Fu pulled put out a scroll paper, spending it open on the floor as a hologram of the victoria peak appears. "You see, that temple only appears on the hill once every thousand years during a very rare lunar eclipse, which just so happens to be ba-doom-ski... tomorrow night!"

"And on that night, all of the world's dragons gather there for a mandate meeting."

"Yeah, but, here's the good news. The eclipse only lasts a couple of hours. Kind of like most of my romantic attachments. A-goo-goo-goo."

"So, for the rest of the time, we are completely free to enjoy the city with friends and family." Gramps assured his grandson, answer through them head back inside, unaware of the two figures watching them from a distance.

"Yes. Everything is going according to plan." Chang wicked smiled.

That night, Jake awoke gasping. Tears fell from his eyes, wiping the tears away he looked around the room and then down at his sleeping boyfriend in the shared bed with him, then over at his male best friend in the other bed. Jake pulled off the blanket, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, his hands covering his face. It was a never-ending circle.

The asian teen stopped wearing hair gel before bed, so he now wore his hair down as he tucked a few strands behind his ear. Jake got up and padded silently out to the balcony, leaning on the railing. The warm breeze helped relax his body nerves. How much longer will Jake continue having these dreams? Now that he thinks about it. These dreams started when Gramps announced their vacation trip to Hong Kong, and since they're flight here, his whole body felt even more unease.

Brad and Spud awoke from the sound of footsteps and realized one boy was gone. They felt a light breeze and looked at each other nodding their heads. Brad got out of bed and wondered over the balcony, finding his boyfriend staring off into the distance.

"Hey..." Brad spoke softly, approaching his deep in thought boyfriend. "Couldn't sleep either?" He learned against the railing beside the dragon teen.

Immediately, Jake learned his head on the jock's arm. "No..." After a silent moment of staring out at the city.

"Babe, what's going on with you?" Brad asked. He figured now was a better time.

Jake tiredly sighed, not surprised, "How long you known?"

"Since the second night," Brad responded, almost frown. “Have you been having nightmares every night?”

“No. These nightmares recently started," Jake sighed. "At first, I didn't believe it, but then I kept having the same vision every night, which makes me think this isn't an original dream."

"What kind of vision?"

"I'm surrounded by shadowy blue flames, and there's this face it's kept telling me my destruction is coming."

“Why haven’t you said anything?”

"I didn't wanna ruin the vacation by worrying you guys. Because the truth is... I'm afraid this vision might come true."

Brad changed their positions, having them face each other, Jake kept his gaze to the floor. Brad could see it on his boyfriend's face. Jake was truly afraid and that there was something he wasn't mentioning. The jock gently cupped Jake's chin, lifting his head a bit so their eye's was making contact.

"Ever if the dream is true, we'll face it together, and no matter what, I'll always protect you." Brad encouraged softly. Jake didn't say a word as he embraced the jock who returned the affection.

'It's not me I worried about,' Jake sadly thought to himself.

The next morning, the family took a stroll through street vendors with Jonathan ahead of everyone else, his usual chipper self, unlike everyone's else who was slugging behind exhausted.

"My, oh, my! Wasn't that snail farm something? And only 48 blocks away from our hotel, too." Johnathan happily said,

"Jonathan, wait. Let's take a break." Susan said, trying to catch her breath as everyone else was.

"But, Honeybunch, it's 10 a.m., and we've only hit 72 sights." Johnathan said, everyone groan collapsing to the ground.

"Dad, this is supposed to be a chance for us to hang together as a family." Jake confronted, "You're spending more time with the tour books."

"Oh, that reminds me..." Johnathan said, pulling out a glowing red book from his bag. "I really want to check out some of the stuff in this book."

Susan gasped, standing back up, "Where did you get that?" She nervously asked.

"This? Oh, I found it in your dad's office when we locked up the store. It is full of cool local stuff that is not in the other books." John explained, flipping through the book's pages wandering off.

Jake turned back in a panic, "Mom, that's a magical tour book. He's gonna find out everything." He exclaimed.

"Haley, come on." Susan said to her youngest child, "We have to get that book away from him." As they rush off following the brunette man.

"Greetings, mortal." Chang greeted, catching Brad in a magical net as she and Bananas B speed off in a delivery shooter through the street vendors.

"Jakey, Chang just snatched Brad!" Trixie exclaimed.

"We got to do something!" Spud said as the trio ran after them.

"Can't dragon up here. Too many people. We need some wheels!" Jake said before he ran towards a crates box using his dragon claw. He carves out three boards that the trio can use as skateboards. "Come on!"

"It's no use, american dragon. Your grandfather is mine!" Chang maliciously laughed. She put the jock down and picked up her staff, blasting an energy beam at the teens who barely managed to dodge. The chase continues with Chang and Bananas B, leading the teens to a giant building on the outskirts of the city.

"They got to be in here somewhere." Jake says as the gang enters an empty building.

"This is the Hong Kong convention center and exhibition center, Jakey." Trixie said as they walked past the abandon delivery scooter. "This place is huge!"

"I don't mean to be a downer," Spud says, looking back at the entrance before turning back around. "But I got a feeling that we just walked into a, uh--" He was cutted off when all the entrance doors slammed shut.

"A trap!" Jake said, as an ominous wind swirled in front of trio soon revealing a giant blue and black dragon laughing evilly.

"The Dark Dragon." Jake exclaimed, just as a group of shade demons surrounded them.

"Question. Is the bad-guy laugh really necessary?" Spud asked, pointing his fingers through a shade demon. "I mean, come on. It's such a cliche. Or is it a stereotype?"

"Spud! Now is not the time!" Trixie shouted.

"No. Now is the time for this. Dragon up!" Jake transformed and attacked the dark dragon with his fire breath, The dark dragon laughed again using his tail to deflect the fire breath.

"Come now. Is that any way to treat an old friend?" He continued brushing off Jake's attacks. He spread his giant wings and took flight, grabbing ahold of the dragon teen, slamming him to the floor. Holding the dragon teen in his claw, Jake smacked the dark dragon with his tail freeing himself only to receive same treatment when the dark dragon smacked him with his own tail sending him flying, crashing into a table.

"Bangers," a voice called out, a spotlight appeared revealing Chang, Bananas B, and a tied up Brad with magical shackle collar around his neck and bound hands. "How do you like the new and improved dark dragon?"

"Uh, he does seem a lot bigger." Trixie stated, taking a moment to fully look at the Dark Dragon.

"Yeah," Spud agreed, "Like maybe he's been working out."

"I have imbued the Dark one with the chi I stolen from the american dragon and power you can not even imagine." Chang explained.

Jake got up and flew towards her, "Let my boyfriend go!" He barked.

The dark dragon blasts a fire breath at the stadium ceiling lights that dropped on top Jake, making him detransform as he slammed to the floor being pinned down by the stadium lights.

"Of course, but first I expect a favor from you." Dark Dragon stated, walking on his four legs stood in front of the asian teen. Chang jumped down with Bananas B on her shoulder, dragging Brad along to stand by her master side. "Tonight during the eclipse, the world's dragons will hold the traditional thousand year toast."

Chang stepped forward, pulling out a glowing green bottle, "You will slip a few drops of this potion into each of their drinks."

Bananas B took the bottle, flipping off Chang's shoulder approaching the pinned down teen, "You're gonna slip them a little surprise at the party, yo." He put to bottle down in front of the boy.

Jake grunt, "Wait... It's been you who've been invading my dreams with those visions!"

"Indeed, you will cooperate."

"And if I don't?"

Bananas B hopped back onto Chang's shoulder as she harshly tugged the jock, Brad groaned from the hash pulled from the choker.

"You'll never see your loved one again." Dark Dragon laughed maniacally.

"There's the evil laugh. Cliche!" Spud called out, He and Trixie were being held captive.

"Babe, don't do it. Don't!" Brad pleaded, Jake manages to strain himself free, Chang pulled the blonde jock back as Jake ran at the evil trio. The ominous wind reappeared swirled around the villains.

"Brad, no!" Jake jumped forward, but he was too late they vanish into thin air along with the shade demons. Jake approached the glowing bottle just as Gramps and Fu bust open the entrance door.

"Too... much... exercise." Fu panting "A-goo. What? Did we miss anything?"

"Are you kids all right? What happened?" Grandpa asked. The gang returned back to the street vendors, Jake explained to Grandpa and Fu about the Dark Dragon plans and that he took the dragonheart and then mentioned the vivid dreams he's been having.

"Jake, this is definitely some kind of dark mind control potion." Grandpa said, examining the potion with a deep concern frown.

"Kid, if you slip this into the toast tonight, you're giving the Dark Dragon a free pass to rule the magical world." Fu said,

"I know," Jake frustratingly sighed, taking the bottle from Fu paw. "But if I don't, what's gonna happen to Brad?"

"Worry not, young one." Grandpa rests a comfort hand on his grandson's arm. "We will rescue your beloved. We have to..."

"There you guys are!" Jonathan called out. He, Susan, and Haley rejoin the gang, Jonathan was still carrying the magical book. "Hey, I thought we'd try this little hole in a wall place for lunch. You literally have to walk through a wall to get there. Imagine that."

"We have to rescue Brad before the eclipse tonight. It's our only chance." Jake stated.

"Yeah. We gotta fight the Dark Dragon." Spud says, "And by "we," I mean mostly Jake, Gramps, and the other dragons."

"It shouldn't be too hard. All the dragons in the world are right here in Hong Kong." Haley said.

"I don't know, kid. If the Dark Dragon is as pumped up as you say, he might be too powerful." Fu said.

"You see, the Dark Dragon is the only dragon that's ever gone bad. Dragons just don't have that much experience fighting other dragons." Grandpa explained.

"No, but I know someone who does." Jake pulls out the photo he had in his pocket.

"Rose? But you don't even know where to find her." Trixie exclaimed.

"I can look up where she goes to school. I know, I know, but she might be our hope into stopping the dark dragon."

"Jake, she never trained to slay dragons. She was never a member of The Huntsclan." Trixie lectured him.

"I know, but she still has the birthmark. She's still a natural dragon slayer!" Jake snapped back.

"But she doesn't know that. This photo of you guys shouldn't even exist." Spud said, taking the photo from his friend. "It's only because you had it with you when you created the parallel reality of the... Oh! My head hurts just thinking about it."

"Look, I know it's a long shot, but we don't have any other choice. The Dark Dragon is too powerful." Jake grip tightly onto the dragonheart as it began to resonate to his emotion. "I can't take the risk of my vision coming true."

"Yeah, but even if you convince her, she doesn't have her ninja Huntsgirl staff thingy or any of that gear." Trixie pointed out.

"Hey, I know." Spud interrupted. He reached into his backpack, pulling out his laptop. "The Huntsclan had lairs all over the world. Maybe they had a Hong Kong franchise." He began typing away.

"Check it out." Jake said, hoping over the table. "I'll get Rose and meet you back at the hotel."

Jake watched as Rose and her classmate exited the building, saying their goodbyes he took a deep breath and approached the ex-hunts girl for the friendly smile.

"Hey!" Jake greeted.

"Hey, yourself." Rose returned, continuing her way.

"Uh, it's Rose, right?"

Rose stopped in her tracks and turned around, "Do I know you?" She questioned with suspicious.

Jake approached once her once again, "You do, or you did." He looked at her sheepishly. "Uh. My name is Jake Long. We went to school together back in New York. It's complicated. Can we go somewhere and talk?"

"Talk? About what?"

"It's just... You won't believe me." Jake stuttered, nervously scratching the back of his hair.

"I'm pretty open-minded." Rose smiled, giving her full attention to the boy. "Give it a shot."

"Okay, here goes." Jake inhaled, "The happy life that you're living now is an alternate reality that I wished for you. You're actually a mythical dragon slayer who was kidnapped by The Huntsclan and trained since birth to fight and slay dragons. I need you to come with me tonight to Victoria Peak to slay the Dark Dragon in order to save my boyfriend and possibly the entire magical world."

Rose stared at him blankly at him before dismissing, "Yeah, I'm not that open-minded." She said, not convinced as she continued her pace.

Jake deeply sighed before running after her, "Hold on. Look, if you just let me explain, I..."

Rose turned on his heel and looked at the asian teen with annoyance ok her face, "Look, just leave me alone."

"You have to believe me." Jake plead.

"Okay. If I'm some sort of dragon slayer, that would mean that dragons are real, right?"

"Absolutely. We're the good guys, actually."

"We?" She questioned.

"Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. I'm a dragon."

"I'm officially creeped out. Bye."

"No, look. Wait." Jake grabbed her right wrist. "Look at this mark on your hand. It's a dragon."

Rose pulled her hand away, "How did you know about that?"

"Rose, please, I need your help. Otherwise, it might be the end -" Jake looked up at the moon, realizing that the eclipse had already started. "Brad..." He mumbled.

"Brad?" Rose repeatedly.

"I have to go, sorry for bothering you." Jake said. He took off running into the alley. Going against her better judgment, Rose went after him to notice he was already gone but then looked up, seeing something large with wings flying in the air.

"Is that a...." Rose started. She then looked down to find a folded piece of paper she kneeled down to pick it up, unfolding it.

Jake flew across Hong Kong towards the victoria Peak. He then landed in the center of the temple detransforming.

"The American Dragon." Council Andam called out.

"Late as usual, I see." Councilor Kulde commented.

"Jake, where are your grandfather and Haley?" Sun Park asked, "They're gonna miss the thousand year toast."

"Uh, they're right behind me. You know, traffic. Here, let me give you a hand pouring that." Jake said as he approached the counselors popping open the mind control potion behind his back.

"Welcome Dragons, one and all, to the thousand year gathering." Council Andam announced, unaware of the american dragon sitting in the background pouring the mind control potion into the golden cup.

Outside the temple, the Dark Dragon, Councilor Chang, and Bananas B watched patiently. "Yes, the boy is slipping in the mind control potion just as we commanded." Dark Dragon said.

"You guys are cowards. Making Jake do your dirty work." Brad lectured. Where he was being captive in a man net hanging up the edge of a cliff.

"QUIET, boy!" Dark Dragon growled, "His love for you is his weakness."

Jake went around pouring the potion into every dragon member glasses. He felt extremely guilty.

Council Andam grabbed ahold of his glass and rose from his seat, holding his glass in the air. "And now, we toast." He said, the rest of the dragon member rise each holding their own glasses. "To another thousand years of peace and prosperity throughout the magical world."

After Council Andam speech every dragon took a sip of their drinks, Jake tossed his drink over his shoulder. Suddenly, there was a rumble thunder and a diabotically laugher in the air as a stroke of lightning crashed in the center of the temple, revealing the Dark Dragon, Chang and Bananas B.

"Greetings, my dragon brothers and sisters. Allow me to propose another toast... to dragons ruling the world!" Dark Dragon laughed evilly. Every dragon member didn't hesitate as each one transformed to their dragon forms except Jake. "Fools! It is useless to fight me!" Dark Dragon scoffed.

"The Dark Dragon speaks the truth. You are all under a mind control spell that you can not resist." Chang explained.

"You can thank the American Dragon for slipping the surprise into your drinks!" Bananas B said.

"Jake!" Sun gasped at the teen.

"I had no choice." He said, giving her an apologetic look before glaring at the Dark Dragon. "He has Brad."

The Dark Dragon used his power to summon the blonde teen inside of a magical net made of sphinx hair.

"Go ahead, Double D, make them do something." Bananas B said.

"Very well. Korean Dragon, I command you to destroy Councilor Andam!" Dark Dragon commanded,

Sun felt a strange urge taking over her body as she tried to restrain, only to have her ears change forms. Everyone stared with disbelief and confusion. Soon, each dragon began to change into different hybrid animals.

"Hmm. That's not exactly what I had in mind." Bananas B said, still a bit confused.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Dark Dragon snarled.

"The meaning is simple, Dark Drag." Jake transformed, "I ditched your potion and gave them a little local specialty instead... Transformation tea."

The dark dragon growled with annoyance, releasing the combination of fire breath electricity at the asian teen. Luckily, he managed to dodge by a hair.

"I tried to give you all the chance to join me in ruling the world. But the American Dragon has just sealed your destruction!"

"If we have to choose between destruction and joining you, we'll take destruction every time." Jake proudly said, just as every dragon turned back into their original dragon forms.

"Then you shall have it!" Dark Dragon said, holding the magical net up. The jock tries to struggle out. "Starting with your loved one!" Before he could eliminate Brad, he was intercepted by a fire breath striking his claw, releasing the blonde jock from the net. Brad falls to the ground.

Jake flew over to his boyfriend, helping him up. "I'm so glad you're okay, Brad."

Brad smiled, "A little torture couldn't break me."

"Sorry, tall, dark and ugly..." Haley says.

"But if you want them... " Trixie said, as she and Spud come into view.

"You're gonna have to go through us, too." Susan announced, stepping aside.

"All of us." Johnathan said, following behind with Fu by his side.

"Dad?" Jake was surprised to see his father.

"Very well." The Dark Dragon gather his energy, summoning an army of shade demons. "You had your chance to join me in victory. Instead, you shall all -"

"Uh, excuse me?" Spud interrupts."Yeah, sorry to interrupt. But I move that we skip the rest of this dude's villain banter and get right to the cool Kung Fu fighting."

"I second the mortal's motion!" Council Andam agreed, "Attack!"

All the dragons charge into battle, but the shade demons had them outbeated, Sun and Haley used the magical net to catcher Chang, tossing her out of the temple. They high five each other, but then both of them were tackled by a shade demon. Jake and Gramps were tussling with the Dark Dragon.

"Johnathan. We have to do something." Susan said, as she and her husband were hiding behind a table. Johnathan reached into his fanny pack, pulling out a magical red book.

"Uh, let's see. Shade demons." He mutter to himself, flipping through the pages. "Weakness... light. Honey!"

Getting his wife's attention, he held up his camera before tossing it to her. Susan was a bit confused but quickly understood as she jumped onto the table, holding up the camera, aiming towards the shade demons flashing them with a bright light. The shade demons vanished.

Johnathan jumped onto the table using his bag as a lasso to grab a golden cup. Raising it into the air, letting the Moonlight reflect off the jewels. "Hey, shade demons. Care to be enlightened?" The light reflecting vanished the remaining shade demons.

"Looks like your shade dudes just got their butts kicked by my dad!" Jake smirked proudly.

"You have no idea of my dark powers!" The Dark Dragon roared, flinging Jake and Gramps off him before blasting Gramps with bolts of electricity, sending him crashing near the entrance wall. He grabbed Jake's tail and slammed him to the ground with a loud crash. Jake gasped by the impact as his body detransformed.

"Jay!" Brad cried out, He ran towards his defenseless boyfriend, dropping a metal shield he's been using as a weapon.

"Brad?" The asian teen groaned, quickly regaining conscience. He set up when the ringing in his ears stopped, quick to notice the dark dragon towing over him.

The Dark Dragon snarling, "Insulin boy, you shall be the first to die!" He strikes his claws toward the asian teen.

Jake closed his eyes, bracing for the impact. Only it didn’t come, and he slowly reopened his eyes they went wide. Jake's pupils constricted as his blood ran cold, he looks on in horror. Brad was standing over him protectively, he cough up blood due to the claw gravely piercing through his chest. The side battles came to a halt, and everyone looked on in shock.

Brad groaned desperate pain. "I... told you..." He inhaled a sharp breath, "I'll protect you,"

The dark dragon growled with frustration as he withdrew his claws, Brad screamed, falling into Jake's arms. Jake embraces his boyfriend, trying to put pressure on the wound as Brad is panting heavily unevenly.

"B-Brad..." Jake breathes shakily. "No... no... no!" The tears in his eyes began taking over. This is it. This is what he feared the most. His dream was becoming a reality.

Brad managed to open an eye and weakly reached a hand up and gently caressed Jake's wet cheek. "C-Close your eyes, Jay."

Jake shook his head and did what he was asked, letting the bigger hand pull him down to a deep, passionate kiss. 'You're in my heart..' Brad managed to whisper between their kiss. Jake heart shattered when the jock's hand fell from his cheek.

Jake sobbed, "Please don't leave me!" He kept shaking his boyfriend, trying to get a response. "This can't be the end of our story... we've got our whole lives ahead of us, I-I don't wanna be alone again."

The dragon members remain respectfully silent at his loss, Trixie threw herself into Spud chest as they both failed to hold their tears and sorrows. The Dark Dragon maniacal laughed at the scene, mocking the mortal.

Coming to the realization that Brad was gone, Jake sob became louder, "BRAD!" He cried out, a burst of wind erupted, as a shadowy red aura swirled around the asian teen. He clinches Brad's still warm hand. "And you will always be in mine." He softly whispered, placing one last kiss upon his boyfriend lips as he carefully lay Brad's body down.

Jake's eyes were closed as he slowly stood up. He opened his eyes, his black sclera and red iris glaring deathly at the Dark Dragon, Jake transformed, snarling. The aura grew stronger. Jake was blinded by rage as the dragonheart pure light turned a burning red.

"Jake!" Gramps approach the dragon teen, "You have to control yourself!"

"Get out of my way!" Jake growled, shaving his grandfather out the way as he launched at the Dark Dragon, tackling the bigger dragon to a nearby wall. The two dragons begin to dominate one another.

"What's happening to Jakey?" Trixie asked.

"He's not thinking clearly he's acting on pure instinct blinded by complete rage. We have to stop him before it's too late!" Councilor Kulde explains.

"Uh, curious question. What's gonna happen to him?" Spud asked.

"He'll keep fighting until the Dark Dragon and himself are both destroyed."

"Yep, that's what I was afraid you'll say."

The dark dragon blasts Jake into the ground. Trixie and Spud took the opportunity as their best friend was about to retaliate. Ignoring everyone's warnings, the duos leap towards Jake, giving him a tight hug, restraining him. Jake struggled to free himself.

"Let me go!" Jake growled.

"Dude, don't do this to yourself!" Spud exclaimed, "You're not alone. We feel your pain, but this isn't the way!"

Jake whimper, not stopping his struggling, "Brad's gone, he took him from me!"

"We know Jakey, we know, but Brad wouldn't want you to lose yourself." Trixie gently said, rubbing his scales. Upon listening to her, Jake finally comes to a stop. Sniffling, his eyes slowly turn back to normal just as the shadowy red aura diminishes.

The dark dragon scoffed with disgust, blasting another bolt of electricity at the trio Jake took quick to notice and use himself as a shield to protect his friends. He blasted another bolt of electricity at Andam, Sun, and Kulde.

"So much power. It's too easy." Dark Dragon laughs diabolically.

"Yeah. You might be winning, but that evil laugh is still cliche, so there!" Spud yelped, dodging a bolt of electricity fired at him.

"He's not kidding about that dark power stuff." Fu said,

"It's no use!" Gramps comment.

"Even all of us together are no match for him." Andam stated.

"Are there none who can challenge me?" Dark Dragon questioned,

"Hi-ya!" A voice yelled out as Rose somersault flipped over the temple rooftop, kicking the Dark Dragon in the face. The evil creature screamed in pain.

"Look! It's a slayer." Council Andam announced.

"But how? Who is she?" Councilor Kulde questioned.

"Let's just say she's an old friend." Jake assured them, smiling fondly he took flying towards the battle as Spud handed him the hunts staff, "Rose, heads up!" He called out tossing the staff at the blonde slayer.

Rose grabbed the staff blasting plasma green energy at the Dark Dragon back, and he screamed in pain once more. Everyone watches Rose battling off against the Dark Dragon, causing damage around the temple.

"Uh...uh..." Fu begins to notice the temple was starting to vanish he looked up at the moon, realizing the eclipse was coming to an end.

"What’s happening?" Susan asked.

"We gotta get out of here before the eclipse ends or we'll be stuck in this temple for the next thousand years! A-goo." Fu explained, Haley carried Fu while Gramps carried his daughter and son-in-law, and Sun carried Jake's friends.

Jake carefully picked up Brad's body, holding back his tears. He could cry again later, but for now, he had to get them out of there. As a giant vortex opens up, all the dragons and mortals fled outside to safety. Rose remained fighting off the Dark Dragon, and soon, they were both trapped by falling debris.

Jake made an attempt to move when Gramps stopped him, "Jake! It's too risky!"

"I'm not losing both of them." It wasn't up for debate he flew back inside the temple, attempting to help lift the debris off her leg. Once Jake got the debris off he grabbed hold of Rose and took off flying, the Dark Dragon however, grabbed a hold of Jake's leg with his tail, as the vortex began swallow everything Jake struggled as the Dark Dragon was pulling them determined to trap them.

Running out of time, Rose used her staff to cut the Dark Dragon tail off, releasing them as the Dark Dragon screamed, being swallowed into the vortex before it closed Jake and Rose made it out with everyone cheering for them. Jake's body detransformed once again from exhaustion. Rose hugged him, which he returned.

Jake was the first to pull away, "Rose, you remembered. But how?"

Rose pulled out the photo of her and him, "You dropped this. Let's just say it brought back some memories."

"American dragon!" A voice called out. The two turned and noticed everyone was gathered around Sun Park. Her hands were glowing as they were placed onto Brad's chest. Jake and Rose walk towards them. Jake watched with hopeful as she was healing him.

"I managed to close his wound, but that's all I could do, I'm so sorry." Sun says, stepping aside. Jake stepped a bit closer to his boyfriend, dropping to his knees.

"Is... he the boyfriend you mention?" Rose asked.

Jake nodded, "I finally get to see you again, but at the price of losing him," he leaned into his Brad's neck. "It's just not fair!"

"Do you wish to save him?"

Jake head shot up from the mysterious voice, "W-Who said that?" He looked at his chest when the dragonheart started illuminating brightly. When Jake opened his eyes, he was in between dimensions. Where did everybody go? He was all alone, He panicked slightly, and then suddenly, the dragonheart crystal appeared in front of him.

"D-Did you bring me here?" Jake questioned, feeling bewilderment.

"I did.." There was that mysterious deep voice again Jake realized the voice is coming from the dragonheart.

"Just what exactly are you?" He questioned again this time with disbelief.

The crystal glow blindly bright once again. This time, a gigantic white fiery dragon with scales shimmering in hues of red and orange. Its eyes glow with an intense fire formed from the crystal. It's wings were unlike other fiery dragon's, they were pure and radiant, reminiscent of those of an angel, with feathers shimmering in an array of whites and the burning sun. Its serpentine body wrapped around Jake, long flowing whiskers.

"I am Asgorath, creator of the multiverse and all of dragonkind, the source of all magical powers."

"So you're the true from of the dragonheart?" Jake looked around, "Where are we, What is this place?"

"A place only you can see me in this form, deep within your subconscious."

Jake understands now as he looks sadly at Asgorath, "Can you bring Brad back to life?"

"If that is what you wish for, I shall warn you young dragon. To each wish must sacrifice because the universe is balanced."

"A sacrifice?"

"Yes, for example, if you wish for the ocean to be turn green, then the earth grass must turn blue."

A sacrifice? What kind of sacrifice could Jake make in order to save the love of his life. He couldn't decide he felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. To save Brad's life, does that mean someone else has to lose their's? What could Jake do? What should he do?

"Calm yourself, child. I can tell your heart has been through a lot. The goods, the bads, since the day your dragon powers awakened your life has been nothing but sacrifices. Through all of the losses, your heart is always in a good place." Asgorath explained, gently brushing its large snout to the dragon teen. "Your kindness is precisely what makes you worthy of being the holder of the dragonheart."

Jake gently rubbed Asgorath's snout, feeling the dragon purring, "Please save Brad's life." He plead, resting his head against the snout.

"And what do you sacrifice?"

Jake hesitated as he bite down his lower lip, not fighting the tears that rolled down his cheeks. "Read my heart..."

"Say my name, and your wish will be."

Jake whispered, "Asgorath..." The ancient dragon eyes glow as with the rest of its body. A white void envelopes the universe, destroying it before it is re-created in accordance with the user's wish.

"Jake still hasn't left his room?" Johnathan asked with deep concerns. The rest of the long's household were in the kitchen having breakfast. It's been two days since Johnathan learned the truth about his family since the battle with the Dark Dragon, and since Jake's ultimate wish.

"Will he ever be okay?" Haley asked, looking at the empty chair.

"I hope so, sweetheart." Susan sighed. As a mother, she should know what to do to help her children, but how could she help her son, who lost two loved ones. The sound of the doorbell brought her out of her thoughts as Susan excused herself from the table to answer the door.

Inside Jake's bedroom, the young dragon laid motionless in his bed his eyes felt heavy from the amount of crying, dark circles under his eyes from a lack of sleep. He stared at the dragonheart resting on his nightstand. Its power hasn't been fully restored since his wish. Jake sighed with grief. He was tired of everything that had happened in his life. Jake wishes he wasn't who he is, wasn't the american dragon, wasn't the protector of anything, and just lived his life as a normal teenager then maybe he wouldn't be feeling completely empty.

Jake misses Brad so much. The event of his ex-boyfriend being killed still hunts the young dragon dreams. Even though Brad was safely alive according to what Trixie and Spud told him, the jock had no memory of Jake nor the relationship they once had. Jake still misses his touch, smile, laugh, and sweet kisses.

There was a knock at his door he didn't say anything, knowing it was his mother coming to check on him for the fifth time. As Susan creaks the door open, poking her head through the doorway with a small smile on her face.

"Honey, you have a visitor."

"Tell Trixie and Spud I'm not really in the mood to hang out."

Susan shook her head, "I believe this visitor would lift your spirit up."

Jake lifted his head off the pillow to look at his mother and raised a suspicious brow, groaning, he forced himself out of bed to go meet the mystery visitor if he was lucky maybe it was Marty(the Grim Reaper) disguise as a human to take him away from this miserable unfair life. He opened the front door and was blinded by the bright sun. When his vision adjusted to the light, his brown eyes widened.

"B-Brad?" Jake was stunned,

The jock stood there on the porch one hand behind his back. He was panting slightly as if he were running. Brad stared at him like the jock saw something for the very first time.

Jake cleared his throat, trying to restrain himself from jumping on the boy. "What are you doing here?"

Brad didn't say a word. Instead, he launched forward using his free hand to gently grab the back of Jake's neck and pulled him into a heated, passionate kiss. Jake was a bit thrown off but then kissed back. When both boys pulled away to breathe.

Brad pulled out the bouquet from behind his back, "I missed you, Jay." He said wearing the smirk Jake always fell for.

Jake took the bouquet of roses and lilies, they were beautiful and smell fresh they were his favorite flowers he never admitted it out loud. Only Brad knew that deep secret. He stared into the flowers, unaware of the tears running down his cheeks

"Y-You remember everything?"

"Yeah," Brad smiled fondly, gently wrapping the tear marks away. "It's weird, I was having those strange dreams, and when I woke up suddenly, all these memories flash into my mind." He explains, pulling the smaller teen into a warm embrace. "I love you."

Jake didn't dare to look up at him and allowed himself to cry into Brad's warm chest, this time, they were tears of happiness. Brad gently soothed his boyfriend, whispering a sweet 'Thank you for saving my life.'

Standing on a nearby build rooftop, Gramps and Fu were watching the boys' reunion.

"Aren't they cute." Grandpa comment,

"Yeah. I'm glad everything worked out for the kid, but I still can't believe you actually convinced the Dragon Council to restore the boy's memory."

"Jake been through enough at a young age he deserves happiness." Gramps turned away walking, "C'mon let's give them some privates."

🎶<If you're not the one, then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one, then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine, then why does your heart return my call?
If you are not mine, would I have the strength to stand at all?

I'll never know what the future brings
But I know you're here with me now
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with

I don't want to run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you, then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don't need you, then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don't need you, then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me, then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me, then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I'm prayin' you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life🎶

"Did you see the pictures Trixie sent?" Spud asked. He and Jake were lounging outside during free period. Their female friend was on vacation with her parents in France. "I never seen her this happy before."

"It's not every day she gets to have quality time with both of her parents. I'm glad she is having a good time."

"Yeah. Oh, what's up, Brad." Spud greeted when he noticed Brad was approaching them carrying his gym coming back from football practice.

"Uh Jake, I wanted to ask you something..." Brad confronted his boyfriend, who's been recently giving him the silent treatment. Jake stared at him blankly, then turned his nose away and walked away.

"Wow, now that was about as cold as the north pole." Spud whistled, "What did you do to deserve that?"

"I have no idea." Brad replied, watching the back of his boyfriend. "The cold shoulder started the day before yesterday."

"That's weird." Spud placed a hand on his chin, "His birthday was the day before yesterday."

Brad gasped, "It was?! I don't believe it you're kidding?"

Spud shook his head, "No, I hope you wish him a happy birthday. You know how important things like that are to him."

"Oh no, I totally forgot!" Brad slapped his own forehead. "I bet he's going to hate me for weeks."

"Probably..." Spud says bluntly, swinging his backpack over his shoulder, "Unless you go and buy him a nice present to make up for it."

Brad grinned happily at the idea, "I'll go after school." His grinned turned into a frown. "Well, I would if I could. Thanks to some stupid flying meatball, Rockwood blames me, and I got three hours of detention."

"No sweat, I gotta go get a few things for my mom, and while I'm out, I'll pick up a little present for Jake for you." Spud smiled.

"Really, you'll do that for me?"

"Yeah, sure." Spud patted his shoulder, "Besides I owe you one, in case you didn't know the flying meatball thing was me."

"It was!" Brad growled, dropping his bag, grabbing ahold of Spud's shirt. "And you let me take the blame!"

"I was laughing too hard to tell you."

"Spud, you know I oughta -" Brad stopped, letting go of Spud's shirt when they noticed a teacher walking passed.

"Jake, wait!" Brad whined, following the smaller teen out of the school build. "Can't we make up? You know, if someone forgets my birthday, I wouldn't make a big thing out of it."

"That's because I never ever forget it." Jake snapped, scoffing.

Brad groaned, "You know... okay, not you, but I mean somebody -"

Jake turned on his heels, facing his boyfriend. "Look, quit while you're ahead. You're just making things worse." With that, Jake turned back around, continuing his journey home, not giving Brad chance to speak again.

The next day, Spud spotted his jock best friend sitting on the stairs between the halls with a frown on his face, reading a book.

"Hey, would you stop hating me for a minute, bro?" Spud says, as he approaches Brad, handing him a shopping bag. "Here, this should get you on the good side of your magical boyfriend."

"Thanks, Spud." Brad took the bag, "What is it?"

"A surprise," Spud says, grabbing onto Brad's arm. "Now we better go hurry up and get you change into it before the first bell rings."

"C-Change?" Brad questioned as Spud was dragging him to the restroom. "Change into what?" He panicked.

Jake gathered the books he needed for first period from his locker.

"Uh, Jake?"

The dragon teen sighed, slightly annoyed, "What now?" He turned around his annoy expressions vanish. His eyes widened nearly dropping his books as he stared at jock who was wearing a black T-shirt with a brown teddy bear holding a red heart with the words Big Loser printed and red bow tied around his neck, a brown bear headband blending in with his blonde hair.

Brad face was crimson red from embarrassment as some of the students were watching him, a few students snickering.

"Brad? What the heck are you wearing?" Jake asked, holding back his own laughter.

"Apparently, my punishment," Brad got into his knees, taking his boyfriend hands into his own. "Happy birthday, Jay. Please don't be angry with me anymore.."

Jake giggled, shaking his head, "Okay, okay, I forgive you." All the anger he had towards his boyfriend vanished. Can you blame him? It's hard to stay mad when the person you love is on his knees wearing a ridiculous cute outfit.

Brad grinned happily, kissing Jake's hands. The sound of wolf whistles coming from the crowd of students watching them, it was Jake turned to be a bit embarrassed as he blushed. The bell rang, getting everyone's attention scattering off to their classes.

"C'mon," Jake says, Brad stood up, still holding his hands. "You can walk to me class. And then after school, you can treat me to a late birthday gift shopping."

Brad kissed him on the lips, "Anything you want."
