Lonely

Summary:

Things in Tim’s life have been going poorly and when he finds out that he’s pregnant he figures it’ll just make everything worse. In some ways he’s right, but in others he’s completely wrong.

Notes:

This takes place during the Red Robin comic series. Tim is 19 in this story. The chapters will be fairly short, I have a lot of stories in the works and I wanted a short story that I could post now. I posting once a week.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

This last year has been a nightmare for Tim. So many people that Tim loved died and the rest of them thought that Tim had gone crazy for thinking that Bruce is still alive. Dick even tried to lock him up in Arkham. He had never felt so alone in his life. Not even when his parents left him home alone for months at a time. At least he didn’t know how pack should really be back then.
So no one can really blame him when Tim has a night of passion with Lynx. The alpha female claimed to be a cop that’s undercover as a gang leader. Yeah, Tim probably should have tried to verify that claim before he broke her out of jail and slept with her, but part of him doesn’t really care if she lied to him. She was there for him when his pack wasn’t. Lynx listened to his problems and at least pretended to care. He doesn’t regret sleeping with Lynx, but he does regret not doing it safely. Missing the date for his first heat after being with Lynx didn’t really scare him, his stress causes him to be late a lot. But when he misses the second date for his heat, that’s when Tim started freaking out.
After five different pregnancy tests come back positive, Tim finally goes to a doctor. He couldn’t go to just any doctor, being the acting CEO for Wayne Enterprise is already hard enough while being an Omega. They’d take the company from him if they found out that he’s pregnant.
While Tim is in Paris, he goes to a clinic using a fake ID. No one knows that he’s in Paris, so he’s not concerned about his family seeing that one of his aliases is going to see maternity doctor.
Sitting in the waiting room surrounded by happy couples excited about starting a family makes Tim’s situation feel that much worse. It doesn’t help that every nurse that he sees asks him where his alpha is. It takes everything in him not to snaps back that he doesn’t need an alpha.
Tim is practically shaking from anger and nervousness by the time the doctor sees him. The doctor is handsome looking alpha, making Tim that much more nervous.
“Hello Alvin, how are you doing today?” The alpha’s smile is almost blinding.
“Fine.” Tim grumbles, he hates small talk. He just wants to get out of here and go back to trying to find Bruce.
“That’s good.” The alpha says like Tim didn’t just almost growl at him, “We have the test results back.”
Tim takes in a breath as the doctor pauses.
“Congratulations, you’re having a baby.”
Tears start to form in his eyes as he chokes on the breath. He’s going to have a baby... He’s pregnant... How is he supposed to find Bruce, the most important alpha in Tim’s life, while being pregnant?
The doctor hands Tim a few pamphlets, “You have several different options. Is the sire in the picture?”
“No.” Tim shakes his head, his voice barely a whisper.
“You must know how difficult raising a pup as an unmated omega.” The alpha gives Tim a sympathetic look, “There’s a counselor that you can speak with that can help you make a decision.”
“Thank you.” Tim just nods, unsure of what to say. He takes the pamphlets and leaves the office.
There’s no way he’s willing to go to a counselor to talk about it. The situation is too confusing and he really doesn’t want to hear someone telling him what to do. Luckily for him, Tim has a lot to distract him from the decision.
The next day while Tim is distracting himself with research, he finds hard evidence of Bruce being alive. He found on the internet that there’s a cave in the Sahara desert that has ancient drawings of Batman. He had to go the cave to see it for himself.
Going to the desert by himself with any backup was probably not the best idea. It results in the spider counsel stabbing him in the gut and leaving him bleeding out on the sand. Closing his eyes, Tim lets out a small sigh.
‘At least I won’t have to worry about the baby anymore.’

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

Everything hurts when Tim wakes up. Looking around, Tim finds himself in a cave. At first thinks that he’s in the Batcave, but sees a glowing green pool nearby. Not the Batcave.
“Ah, the young detective is awake.” A voice that Tim recognizes causes him to shiver. Turning his head, Tim sees Ra’s standing over him.
His brain fills in the blanks quickly, he must have died in the desert and Ra’s must have brought him back to life. Rage fills him and Tim kicks Ra’s in the gut. Ra’s stumbles backwards and blocks the punch Tim throws at his face, “You brought me back to life! How could you do that?!”
“Little omega, you’ve opened up your stitches.” Ra’s catches the next punch and points down at Tim’s stomach. Tim looks down at his bandaged up middle that is slowly turning red.
Suddenly feeling lightheaded, Tim stumbles forward and Ra’s catches him. He leads Tim back to the cot and fixes Tim’s stitches. Once he’s done, Tim lays down on the cot.
“Rest, we don’t want to actually have to put you in the pit.” Ra’s smiles softly at him and pets back Tim’s hair.
“You do that and I’m make you regret it.” Tim growls out. His growl isn’t as intimidating as an alpha’s but it gets the point across.
“I’m sure you would.” Ra’s rubs his hand down to Tim’s stomach, “Though it would be a shame if you were to die before you could give birth to your pup.”
Tim freezes, “How did you know?”
“You’re smell is very maternal.” Ra’s explains.
“So the baby survived the attack.” Tim breathes out, unsure if he’s happy or not about that.
“The pup did, but you’re spleen however didn’t.” Ra’s hand starts to squeeze gently down on Tim’s stomach, “If you want I can help you with your problem.”
“I don’t want you’re help.” Tim shows his teeth to Ra’s, showing that he’s serious.
Ra’s removes his hand, “No matter how many children you have with other sires, you’ll one day accept that you will be the mother to my children.”
“I don’t want to be your baby machine.” Tim rolls his eyes, Ra’s has been trying to get Tim to have his children since he found out that Tim was an omega.
“You’ll be more than a machine, young detective.” Ra’s caresses Tim’s face, causing Tim to cringe, “You’d be my wife and my right hand man.”
“Tempting offer, but I’m good.” Tim shakes his head, “Once I’m healed, I’m gone.”
“There’s still something that I can do for you.” Ra’s says, “I can help you find your surrogate father back.”
“Back? You going to throw him in the pit?”
“I don’t need to, he’s not dead.” Those words take Tim’s breath away.
“You believe he’s alive?”
“Of course. The great detective wouldn’t die from a simple explosion.” Ra’s shakes his head, then grabs some papers off of a desk nearby, “Plus, your research proving that he’s lost in the time stream is very convincing.”
“You’re hacked my laptop.” Tim glares at him.
“You should be glad that I did, that’s how I knew that you would be in the Arabian desert. If I hadn’t, you’d be dead.”
“Would that be so bad?” Tim asks softly.
“Your mentor would forever be lost in the timeline if you had died.”
That’s right, Tim is going to have to be more careful now. It’s not just his life he has to be worried about.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Being pregnant has been awful to deal with. Tim has never gotten motion sickness in his life before, but getting off the plane that’s landing in Gotham, Tim can barely walk straight. His head is spinning and stomach lurches with every step.
“Are you alright?” Tam asks, gently leading Tim towards the bathroom.
“I’m... not great...” Tim holds his hand over his mouth, trying not to puke before he gets to the bathroom.
Even though Tam is a beta, she walks into the omega bathroom with Tim. Betas are allowed to go pretty much everywhere Omegas go. Being the supporters of the pack, they are really good at taking care of Omegas.
Tim is grateful that he has a beta to help him as she leads him into a stall. He falls to his knees and empties his stomach into the airport toilet. Tam pets his hair back and murmurs soothing things to him.
Usually Tam just snaps at him to suck it up and deal with it so they can get back to work, but since she learned that Tim is pregnant, she’s been a lot nicer to him. Tim was going to hide it from her, but she found out pretty quickly. Tim had to change out of his costume, Tam saw his little baby bump and instantly knew.
“Ok... I feel a little better.” Tim breathes out after he couldn’t throw up anymore.
“How are you going to survive this lunch with the investors? You know that it’s a lunch right? They will be serving food there.” Tam says with concern on her face, lately the smell of food either makes Tim unimaginablely hunger and he’ll eat anything, or it makes him feel sick and need to puke.
“It’ll be fine, I survived Ra’s, I can survive a stupid investor meeting.” Tim rolls his eyes and slowly stands up.
“You need to stop pushing yourself, it could hurt the baby.” Tam gently rubs Tim’s back, he’s surprised how much of a baby person Tam is. She seemed like such a cold hearted person, but the moment there’s talk about babies she lights up like a Christmas tree.
It’s actually been a good thing for Tim having her around. She’s been helping him get to doctor visits, reminding him to take his prenatal meds and to eat regularly. He’d probably be dying in a hospital if it wasn’t for Tam.
“Thank you for the concern, but it’s just motion sickness.” Tim tries to reassure her.
“Just like when you said it was just a stab wound and you lost your spleen?!” Tam puts her arms on her hips, “Your lucky that they hit your spleen and not the baby.”
“You know that I’m not even sure if I’m keeping the baby...”
“And until you decide, we’re going to keep this baby happy and healthy.” Tam smiles and rubs Tim small baby bump.
“Alright.” Tim sighs, because there’s no arguing with her. She’s too good at it. It’s why her father sent her to fetch him. There’s no way she wasn’t going to be able bring Tim back to Gotham, “Let’s get ready for this lunch.”
“You start feeling bad, you page me and I’ll get you out of there.”
“I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Tim gives her a little smile and follows her out to the car. He’s not sure if he’s ready to get back to CEO duties, but he knows that Tam will help him through it.

Chapter Text

“Careful not to crack your face with that smile.” Conner appears out of no where in front of Tim.
He had heard that Conner and Bart had come back to life because of future none sense, but Tim has been so involved in trying to find Bruce and feeling super sick from the baby. He hasn’t really had time to go and see his friends for himself.
Seeing the alpha that he used to have a crush on, alive in front of him, causes Tim’s heart to skip a beat. The baby starts to moving inside him like the baby was happy to see Conner as well. Tim’s voice gets caught in his throat and he can’t do anything, but stare in shock.
“Hey, buddy? You ok? You’re starting to freak me out.” Conner waves his hand on Tim’s face snapping him out of his shock.
Still unsure of what to say, Tim steps forward and hugs him. Conner is stiff in his grasp and he pulls away from Tim, causing Tim to let out a small whimper.
“Are you ok?” Conner asks, then he stares at him that he’s grown two heads, “Is that a second heart beating inside of you?!”
“Oh...” Tim forgot that Conner has super hearing, he wasn’t ready to tell anyone about his little secret yet, “I didn’t realize you’d notice so fast.”
“It’s pretty obvious! Are you pregnant?!”
“Yeah. I don’t really want to talk about it...” Tim shakes his head and turns away from Conner.
“Was it... what you wanted?” Conner asks cautiously.
“I didn’t plan on getting pregnant, if that’s what you’re asking.” Tim sighs, “I just... needed someone to be there for me and... I don’t know what to do now...”
“Do you know the sire? Do you want to be a parent?”
“I haven’t told the sire. I haven’t talked to the sire since it happened. I don’t even know her real name.” It’s shameful to admit it out loud, Tim wishes he could take it back.
“I can’t believe you’d do something like that.”
“I was just so lonely you don’t understand. I had no one to believe me and those who might have were dead. The sire asked me to believe in them, so I did. I thought maybe it’d make them believe in me if I believed in them...” Tim rubs his arms, he sounded so stupid. It would sounded better just to say that he’d given to the ‘omegan urges’ that alphas think that they’re slaved to, but he didn’t want to lie to Conner. Plus he didn’t think that Conner would really believe that anyways.
Conner puts his arm on Tim’s shoulder, “I’m sorry you had to go through that, but you’re not alone anymore. I believe in you.”
“Thank you. You don’t understand how much that means to me.” Tim smiles softly at the ground.
“Are you... going to keep it?”
“I’m not sure... I don’t think I can raise them by myself, but I also... don’t want to abandon them. It’d just be too hypocritical.” Tim rubs his stomach. He had to make modifications to his Red Robin so that his stomach is more protected and not obviously extended.
“No matter what you chose, I’ll support your decision. I want to be there for you.” Conner says, then his face turns red and he quickly says, “Not in a weird way! Like a best friend way! Because you’re my best friend, you know?”
Tim smiles and leans against Conner, “You’re my best friend too. I’d really like having you around to help me.”
Conner gently puts his arm around Tim, then asks, “If you decide to keep it, can I help name them?”
“No way, you have bad taste.”
“Says the one that told us your name is Alvin.”
“Says the one that wore a leather jacket and an earring.” Tim laughs and gently shoves him.
“You loved that earring.” Conner can’t help but laugh while he says it, “Ok, that was pretty bad.”
“The worst.” Tim laughs even harder, Tim couldn’t believe how much he missed. It was a nice break from the horrible year he has been having.

Chapter Text

Thing in Tim’s life are finally getting better. Most of the people in Tim’s life has come back to life, Stephanie, Bart and Conner. And his old friends are finally starting to believe him about Bruce. Tim is no longer treated like an insane person, they actually listen to him what he has to say.
The Justice League and Dick have been trying to find Bruce, so Tim no longer has to waste his time searching for evidence that he is still alive. He still hasn’t gone back to the manor and doesn’t work with Dick, but he doesn’t avoid them anymore either. Lately he’s been doing less field work and been doing online research from his apartment. It’s been too difficult being this far along in the pregnancy to be that active.
“Hey Tim.” Stephanie greets as she climbs through his apartment window dressed in his Batgirl outfit. She’s been trying to mend their broken relationship, but Tim hasn’t felt like putting in any effort to help, “I brought you a peace offering.”
Tim looks up from his laptop that’s sitting on the coffee table, because it no longer fits in his lap. She has in her hand a sugary latte from Starbucks, the mocha kind that Tim loves.
“I’m good.” Tim goes back to the laptop, he can’t have caffeine while being pregnant. Tam has made this very known to him several times. At first it was hard for him to give up coffee and energy drinks, but with Tam’s help he has been able to kick his caffeine addiction. He still gets headaches every now and then, but it’s lessened.
“Are you going to be like that? I’m not here to fight or ask anything from you. I just want to be friends again.” Stephanie sets the coffee down on the table next to Tim’s laptop and pulls off her cowl, “I know you don’t like me being Batgirl, but that’s going to change anything. I want to move past this.”
“I was just worried about you being a vigilante since, you know, I thought it killed you.” Tim growls out harshly, Stephanie flinches at his words, “I’m not being difficult, I just don’t want the coffee.”
Stephanie sits down on the floor next to Tim, she removes her scent collar and allows her sweet omegan scent to wash over him. It makes him remember simpler times, back when they were both just pups and thought they were in love with each other. Even when they got older and realized they are interested in alphas, they still dated, because it was fun for them. They were best friends and Tim couldn’t imagine life without her.
Then she betrayed him. Several times. The first time is when Stephanie fakes her own death. When she reveals that she’s still alive, she worked with Anarchy and leads Tim into a trap. It injured Tim and the scars on the back of Tim’s neck will never completely go away. Tim asks her to stop being Spoiler and she decides to become Batgirl instead. She acted like Tim’s request was selfish and he wanted to control her life. So much of the situation was frustrating to Tim and he wishes that he could just get some space from her.
“Do you think we could ever be friends? Like we were before?” Stephanie asks softly, her blond curls falling in her face.
“Not like before.” Tim shakes his head, he can never go back to being that close with her, “I think... we could be friends again though.”
“I’d like that. I’ll be patient.” Stephanie gives him a small smile.
Tim is about to respond when he gets a phone call. Lifting his phone he sees that it’s an unknown number.
“Hello?” Tim says hesitantly as he answers the phone.
“Detective.” The voice over the line practically purrs, “I bet you thought blowing up my base would be the last you saw of me for awhile. Usually I’m a reasonable man. However, for you to take my generosity and spit it back in my face, well it’s safe to say say that I’m quite livid.”
“What do you want?” Tim growls out softly, catching Stephanie’s attention, but she doesn’t say anything.
“I want you to have my child. If you don’t agree, then I will kill off every single person that you love.” Ra’s threatens, “Come meet me at Wayne Enterprise in an hour and we’ll discuss this further.”
Then Ra’s hangs up.
“Who was that?” Stephanie asks.
“Ra’s. He wants to meet me. He’s threatening to kill everyone I care about.” Tim snarls as he stumbles to his feet.
“Are you ok?” Stephanie steadies Tim, “Are you hurts?”
“I’m fine.” Tim pushes away from her before she feels his baby bump. He’s wearing an oversized sweater to hide it.
“You can’t go meet him by yourself, he’ll kill you.”
“I have to, he won’t hurt me.” Tim finds his Red Robin costume and goes into the bathroom to change.
Before he can close the door, Stephanie puts her hand on the door and says, “I want to help. Tell me how I can help.”
It feels good to hear someone offering him help, genuine help, “I need you to contact the Teen Titans and ask them to come to Gotham. I’ll need as much help as I can get if I’m going to pull this off.”

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Chapter Text

Seeing Ra’s standing in Bruce’s old office in W.E. makes Tim’s blood boil. He knows Bruce isn’t really dead, but it’s still disgraceful for Ra’s to be here in Bruce’s chair like he owns the place. Tim stalks up to the chair in from if Bruce’s desk. He crosses his legs as he sits down in the chair.
“Well? I’m here. What would you like to talk about? Me killing my baby and allowing you to put another one in me?” Tim asks dryly, he’s so tired of Ra’s games.
“Always straight to the point with you.” Ra’s shakes his head, “I do not want to kill your child. Not only would it damage your body, but it would also damage your mental state to a point that neither of us would want. After the baby is born and you have healed, then you’ll be given my seed so we can procreate.”
“Wow, aren’t I lucky omega.” Tim rolls his eyes.
“If you do not wish to carry my offspring, there is the alternative. My men will kill everyone that you care about.” Ra’s holds up a walky-talky, “I have my men following the your family and friends, ready to strike as soon as I give the word.”
“I don’t think that they’re quite as ready as you think.” Tim gives Ra’s a smirk.
“What are trying to get at? I don’t not have time for your games.” Ra’s frowns.
“Oh I’m the one who doesn’t have time for your games.” Tim crosses his arms, “I want you to stop harassing. Stop asking me to give you a child and leave me and my pup alone.”
“I don’t think you realize the position that you’re in.” Ra’s says in an alpha growl, trying to intimidate Tim, but it doesn’t work.
“I think I do. See, those men you had following my friends and family have already been defeated. You can scream into that walky-talky until you’re blue in the face, but no one will respond. Because you forget that the ones that I love are super heroes and those that aren’t, I have asked my friends to protect.” Tim leans back into the chair, “You have nothing on me and you never will. So leave me alone or I will destroy all of your bases until you have nothing left.”
“Report.” Ra’s barks into the walky-talky, he waits for a moment, but there’s no response. He throws it at the wall and it shatters. Storming over to Tim, Ra’s grabs Tim’s face and leans in close, “You think that this will be the end? I have lived for thousands of years and I’ve never met an omega like you. I will never stop trying until I’ve made you mine.” Then Ra’s hand trails down to Tim’s hidden baby bump, “I hope that it’s an omega. Make sure you keep a close eye on them. Babies are such fragile creatures, anything could hurt them.”
Then Ra’s storms out of the office. Tim hates how much Ra’s scares him. He’s not wearing his scent collar, so there’s no way that Ra’s doesn’t know how much he’s scaring Tim. He hates it. He takes a deep breath trying to stop the himself from crying. The pregnancy is making it hard for Tim to keep his emotions in check. He might have won the time with Ra’s, but Ra’s knows how vulnerable he is. It won’t be long until Ra’s comes after him again.

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Chapter Text

It’s been so long since Tim has seen Bruce that he almost has a heart attack seeing his mentor alive and in the flesh. The Justice League has finally decided to listen to Tim and found Bruce lost in the time steam. It was difficult getting Bruce back, but they’ve finally done it. Bruce is currently locked in one of the observation rooms in the watchtower. When the League rescued him, Bruce thought they were there to hurt him, so Bruce attacked them. He’s calmed down since they brought him back to his time, but no one is sure if Bruce will attack again or not. Dinah has gone in the observation room with Bruce, to try and talk to him, see if he’s fit to leave the tower.
The waiting is making Tim antsy. Not only because he’s afraid that something happened to Bruce, but also because Tim is eight months pregnant. He’s not sure how long he can keep it from the Justice League. If it wasn’t for Conner, Clark would already know by the second heart beat coming from Tim. Conner helped line Tim’s suit with lead so Clark couldn’t hear the baby.
Things are made worse when Dick and Damian come to the watch tower.
“I can’t believe he’s alive.” Dick says in awe staring at their father, through the two way mirror in the room that Bruce is, “You were right Tim.”
“I still think he’s crazy.” Damian snaps, Tim ignores the little alpha. Afraid that if says anything, Damian will attack him and hurt the baby.
“I’m just glad that he’s back.” Tim shrugs, trying not to make a big deal out of this, though it does feel good to hear Dick say that.
“How’s he doing?” Dick asks
“Physically yes, but I’m not sure mentally.” Tim shakes his head.
They sit in silence for a while, until Dinah steps out of the room, “He’s a bit disoriented, but over all he’s doing pretty well. Who wants to see him first?”
“Can I go first?” Tim asks softly, he wants to get out of here as soon as possible.
Damian looks like he wants to object, but Dick talks first, “Of course you can little bird. You’re the reason that he’s here.”
Tim steps into the room before Damian can say anything. Bruce is sitting in the plain room with his cowl off. Somehow the bat costume survived the adventure through time. Either that or he made another one, Tim isn’t quite sure. The costume looks pretty rough, like it’s been torn apart and put back together a few times.
Carefully, Tim tries to walk to the chair without showing how pregnant he is. Bruce watches him cross the room with a blank face. His face is covered dirt and scratches, but his eyes look the same.
“Hello Timothy, I heard that the you were the reason I was saved.” Bruce says coolly when Tim takes a seat.
“Well I was the one that figured out you were still alive and how to get you back, but I wasn’t there to help actually bring you back.” Tim folds his hands on the table.
“Thank you. Dinah said that the other didn’t believe you. It must have been a difficult time for you.”
“It’s not a big deal.” Tim shrugs, smiling softly, warmth filling his chest, “It doesn’t matter anymore, because you’re back.”
“I’ve missed a lot and it will take me awhile to catch back up. How have you been? Have you been working well with Dick and Damian?” Bruce asks, there’s concern on his face.
“I... There’s a lot that happened during the year you were gone. I think it’d be better if someone else explained it to you.” Tim drags himself out of the chair, he didn’t want to drag up those feelings again. With his hormones being all over the place, there’s no way he won’t end up crying if he starts talking about it, “I should probably get going, there’s still a lot that needs to be done.”
“Aren’t you coming back to the manor with us?” Bruce frowns.
“I have my own place now. It’s easier for everyone this way.” Tim just shrugs, because it is. The pack doesn’t have to have an unwanted omega around and Tim can keep his pregnancy a secret. He’s not sure if he wants to ever tell them. The idea of starting his own pack sounds nice, but a little lonely.
“But you’re an unclaimed omega, it’s dangerous for you to live by yourself.”
“I’m stronger than you think.” Tim narrows his eyes at Bruce.
“It’s not about strength, I know that your strong. But you don’t need to be, you should be with the pack.” Bruce reaches out to Tim, but he takes a step backwards. Bruce notices the weird way Tim moves, “Are you injured? Is that why are pulling away from the pack?”
“I’m not injured. The pack is barely a thing anymore and it doesn’t want me.” Tim growls out and walks out of the room. He doesn’t want to deal with this right now. He gets off the watchtower and tries not to think about Bruce’s concerned face. It’s easier to run away from the pack when Tim is sure they don’t want him.

Chapter 8

Notes:

The baby is finally on the way. Being a 19 year old omega that skipped a lot of health classes, Tim has no idea what to expect from labor.

Chapter Text

Being a procrastinator is not something Tim usually is, but Tim puts off making a decision about the baby until it’s too late. Tim is just sitting in the living room of his apartment. He’s going through a bunch of cold cases that he’s been working on since before Bruce disappeared. There’s not a whole lot he can do patrol wise, so he needs to keep his mind distracted. Since Bruce came back to life, Tim is no longer acting CEO. He’s not in school either, so he has nothing else to do but think about how lonely he is.
Getting up to get himself a drink of water, when suddenly his water breaks. He’s glad that he was on the floor when it happened rather than on his couch or bed. Even though it’s going to be a pain to get out of the carpet.
He should have done more research about labor, because Tim has no idea what he’s should do. All he wants to do at the moment is cleans the carpet. When his due date came and past, Tim thought that maybe he had miscalculated and had more time than he expected. Or maybe he wasn’t pregnant at all, the doctors could have been wrong or he could have had a miscarriage and not known. But turns out the baby was just late. Tim didn’t want to go to the hospital, he wants was to be with pack. Not thinking about, Tim decides to go find his pack. Taking a cab to the manor, Tim is worried that he’ll have the baby in the cab, but luckily his labor is going slowly and he makes it to the manor without too much trouble.
No one answers when Tim knocks on the front of the manor, which is a bad sign. Alfred never lets the door go unanswered. Tim picks the lock and lets himself inside. Scenting the air, Tim searches around for his pack, but he couldn’t find any fresh scent of them. Pulling out his phone, Tim calls Bruce to find out where they’re at.
“Hello? Bruce?” Tim says when he hears the phone pick up. He can’t help but sound hopeful.
There’s a lot of background noise, it’s difficult to hear Bruce’s voice at first, but then the noise is gone and he hears Bruce, “Hello Tim, are you alright?”
The next contraction it’s worse than the others, it almost knocks Tim off his feet. He has pull the phone away from his face, so Bruce doesn’t hear him gasping for breath.
“Tim? Are you there?”
“I’m here... Where are you guys?” Tim asks as soon as he catches his breath.
“We’re at Damian’s school, they’re preforming a play and Damian is in it. Dick invited you didn’t he?”
He hasn’t gotten any texts from Dick since he left the manor. Not that Tim cared, he liked the space that Dick was giving him. He knows that he’s not welcomed in the pack and he didn’t want to be. But now... he’s not sure. It’s hurts so much that his pack isn’t here that Tim starts silently sobbing.
“Are you ok? I can come get you if you want to join us, the play hasn’t started yet.” Bruce asks, he has concern in his voice.
“It’s ok. I’ll be here in the manor when you’re done.” Tim says then hangs up the phone before Bruce figures out that he’s crying.
Stumbling around the manor, Tim finds himself in Bruce’s bedroom. The smell alpha calms his nerves. Instincts take over and he builds himself a nest in Bruce’s bed. It’s nice and cozy. It almost makes him forget about the fact that he’s alone.
“At least I won’t be alone when you’re here.” Tim whispers and rubs his huge stomach. He shimmies out of his pants and underwear and lays back in the nest.
The contractions hurt, but they’re over pretty quickly. He’s not sure how long it’ll take or if he needs to do anything besides push. Maybe if he starts pushing now it’ll go faster? Tim pushes as hard as he can, but nothing happens. He tries to push again and nothing happens.
Panting softly, Tim doesn’t think he has the energy to try again. Pulling the blanket over him, he curls up in the nest. He wavers between awake and asleep. Contractions pulling him back awake, but soon exhaustion takes over and Tim falls asleep.

Chapter 9

Summary:

Really short chapter this week.

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov

The Gotham Academy school play was a lot better than Bruce had expected. Damian did an incredible job, but Bruce wasn’t able to enjoy the show. The entire time Bruce was worrying about Tim.
Why did he call? Why was he at the manor? He’s been avoiding all of the members of the pack, to the point where none of them have even seen him out on patrol.
“You did amazing baby bat!” Dick says excitedly when the meet up with Damian after the play.
“I’m actually pretty impressed.” Stephanie says, her arms crossed but she has a smile on her face.
“Of course I was. I have many talents and acting is one of them. How do you think I am able to be around you buffoons?” Damian lifts his head looking smug.
“I think that we should get going.” Bruce says, he wants to get out of the school before Stephanie or Jason cause a fight.
“I was promised food.” Jason glares at him.
“Yeah I want Batburger!” Stephanie cheers.
“Batburger! Batburger!” Cass agrees.
Bruce hates that his kids love that fast food so much. It feels like they’re mocking him.
“Alfred can make us burgers at home.” Bruce tries to argue.
“Noooo Alfred’s burgers are so healthy.” Stephanie complains.
“I’m sorry that I want to make you food that’s good for your body.” Alfred rolls his eyes.
“Come on B, it’ll just be a quick stop.” Dick says giving Bruce the big sad eyes that always gets him.
“Fine, but it better be a quick stop.” Bruce grumbles, he knows there’s no arguing with them. He just hopes that whatever Tim called for wasn’t too important. If it was life or death, surly Tim would have gone to the hospital instead of the manor. Tim’s a smart omega, Bruce is sure that he can handle himself long enough for them to make a quick stop for food.

Chapter Text

Bruce Pov
Two hours later, they finally make it back to the manor. Bruce texted Tim several time since he called four hours ago, but he hasn’t gotten any reply. He’s starting to become worried about Tim.
When they get to the manor, there’s a stale scent of distressed omega in the air, making Bruce even more worried. He walks away from the rest of the pack to try to find the source of the smell. The smell of distressed becomes stronger and slowly turns into the smell of pregnant omega. The trail leads to Bruce’s bedroom and he finds Tim nesting in his bed.
“Tim? Are you alright?” Bruce pulls the covers away from Tim’s face, Tim’s hair is plastered to his face with sweat and his breath is coming out in pants.
Tim blinks open his eyes, “B-Bruce? You’re back...”
“Are you pregnant?”
Tim pushes the blankets off his torso, revealing his extended stomach, “Yeah... I’m also in labor.”
“Labor?! We need to get you to a hospital.” Bruce pulls the blanket completely off, sees Tim’s bare thighs and quickly throws the blanket back over him, “I’ll get Alfred.”
He races out of the room and finds Alfred in the living room talking with the rest of the pack. They can smell the scent of distressed omega, the smell is making them antsy. It’s their instinct to try to comfort the pack omega, but they also know better than interrupt the leader with the pack omega. They’re left confused on what to do next.
“Alfred, Tim’s pregnant and he’s currently in labor.” Bruce blurts out, unsure how to gently say that the pack’s omega is in the middle of giving birth.
Everyone’s jaws drop, unsure of how to respond.
“Oh my heavens... we must get him to the hospital.” Alfred gets up, “Where is he?”
“He’s in my room, I don’t know how far along he is.” Bruce leads Alfred upstairs, the rest of the pack follow behind curiously.
The pack collectively gasp when they find Tim’s nest in Bruce’s bed followed by the scent of distress and pregnancy. Alfred hurries to the bed to check on Tim, the removes the blanket to see how far along Tim is, then goes back over to the pack that are hovering in the doorway of the room. The only one inside the room besides Alfred and Tim is Bruce.
“Timothy is not very far along, he’s hardly dilated, however we cannot take him to the hospital. He’s already nested and stressed out. It would cause the young master too much stress to move him.” Alfred reports, then turns to Dick, “Go fetch my medical supplies and some towels.”
“Alright.” Dick nods dumbly then hurries off.
He then turns to Jason, “Master Jason, please bring some warm water.”
Jason walks off without a word, then Alfred looks at the others, “Make sure the rest of you do not get in the way.”
“How did he hide this from all of us?” Stephanie asks, it’s obvious that she wanted to come in, but wasn’t sure if she was allowed to.
“We’ll worry about that later, first your must make sure Timothy and the baby are healthy.” Alfred goes back over to the makeshift nest, Bruce follows him.
“Is... is it going to be... over soon?” Tim’s voice is barely a whisper.
“No Timmy, it’s going to be a little bit. You’re going to have to hang in there.” Bruce sits down on the edge of the bed and holds Tim’s hand.
“I need.... it out of me....” Tim groans and shifts around in the nest.
“Easy, Master Timothy. These things take time.” Alfred shifts the blankets of the nest to get easier access to everything.
Bruce gives Alfred a concerned look, Tim’s hips are pretty narrow, he’s not sure that he’s going to be able to push a baby through them.
“Do you think he’s going to need a c-section?” Bruce whispers to Alfred, he’s not sure he’d be able to stomach being in the room for that.
“We’ll try to see if Master Timothy can do this without one. He’s missing his spleen and it’s most likely that it’d get infected.” Alfred shakes his head.
“He’s missing his spleen?!” Bruce gasps causing Tim to let out a distressed whimper.
“Master Bruce, there are more important things to worry about at the moment.” Alfred glares at him.
“Sorry, you’re right.” Bruce nuzzles Tim’s hair trying to calm him down.

Chapter 11

Summary:

The baby is here!

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov
The room is full of screaming, Tim’s screaming, then a babies screaming. It’s been hours, everyone in the pack is exhausted. All of them are too nervous and anxious to go to sleep. The pack members are all inside the room now, but still hovering near the door.
As soon as the baby is outside of Tim, he’s full of panic, “Where’s my baby? Where’s my baby?”
“Shhh. It’s ok Timmy, Alfred has your baby, he’s just cleaning them.” Bruce dabs a wet washcloth on Tim’s sweating forehead.
“Disgusting, Drake has made father’s bed a mess.” Damian wrinkles his nose at nest covered in blood and other fluids.
“Shut up. We’re lucky that he trusts this pathetic pack enough to come here, instead of trying to do this alone in his apartment.” Jason snarls at Damian.
“Jason, stop trying a pick a fight. We don’t need that now.“ Dick glares at Jason, who just flips Dick off.
Stephanie then rushes over to Alfred who are cleaning the little baby, “Is it a boy or a girl? What’s their caste? Can I hold them?”
“Don’t you think Tim should be the first one to hold it? Well, second to Alfred.” Jason pulls out a cigarette that immediately gets slapped out of his hand by Cass.
“Tim’s passed out.” Dick points at the now sleeping omega, curled up in a tight ball in the nest.
“She is a girl beta.” Alfred gently hands the baby to Stephanie.
While Tim was still in labor, Cass went out and met up with Barbara to buy some baby things that they’d need. They didn’t know the gender or chaste, so they got as neutral stuff as they could. Mostly nerdy and super hero stuff, since that’s what Tim likes.
The baby beta is dressed in Batman onesie and wrapped up in a Star Wars blanket. Her face is red and swollen, she wasn’t a very cute new born, but few babies are.
Alfred grabs the bag of baby stuff and starts walking out of the room, “I will go prepare some baby formula, Master Timothy will probably be out for awhile.”
“You are so cute! Welcome to the world little one.” Stephanie purrs and holds the screaming baby close to her chest then she turns to the pack, “Meet the newest member of the pack.”
“Cute!!” Cass runs over to Stephanie and pokes at the baby’s squishy cheeks.
“She’s loud and obnoxious like Drake.” Damian rolls his eyes, but comes closer to Stephanie to see.
“She doesn’t look anything like the replacement.” Jason stares down at the baby, “The replacement is a little freak, but he is attractive. She is kinda ugly.”
“She’s just bloated! She will grow up to beautiful just like her mommy.” Stephanie snaps and glares at Jason. Then she smiles and rubs one of the baby’s hands in hers, “We are going to have so much fun together. I’m going to be your favorite aunt.”
“No me!” Cass pouts.
“While you two fight over who will be the best aunt, I’ll swoop in and become the best aunt.” Barbara smiles, leaning back in her wheelchair.
“We’ll see about that.” Stephanie glares at her, accepting the challenge.
“Well we all know that I’ll be the best uncle.” Dick nuzzles the baby.
“You’ll be the lame uncle, I’ll be the cool uncle that she’ll actually want to be around.” Jason says, still standing off to the side.
“-Tt- I’ll be the uncle she likes the best. I will teach her how to destroy her enemies.” Damian crosses his arms and lifts his head high.
“No way, you think Tim would let you get close to her?” Jason scoffs, making Damian bristle.
“There are more important things to worry about then who will do what in the future.” Alfred returns with a bottle of formula, interrupting their conversation, “Hand the baby over and everyone leave the room. Both the baby and Timothy need their rest.”

Chapter Text

The scent of pack surrounds Tim and he can’t help but purr in happiness. It’s been so long since he’d woken up to the smell pack. Sliding his hand over he stomach and finds his large baby bump missing. Ra’s threats ring in his ears and Tim sits up panicked.
“It’s alright. You’re safe here.” Bruce rubs a hand down Tim’s back.
“Where’s my baby?” Tim hisses out.
“She’s in her crib over by the wall.” Bruce points to a white crib in the corner of the room that was not there the last time Tim was in his room. There are some other things in the room that also weren’t there before. A changing table, a rocking chair, colorful balloons, and a pile of stuffed animals.
Tim practically leaps out of the bed. When he gets up, immediately his legs fail him and he collapses to the floor. He tries to get up, but he can’t get his feet to do what he wants. Bruce quickly crouches down next to Tim, “Lets get you back into bed, you are heavily injured... down there...”
“I need to see my baby.” Tim whimpers nothing else is important, he barely acknowledges the pain that throbs every time he moves.
“I will bring her to you, just allow me to help you into bed.”
“Alright.” Tim nods and Bruce helps him back into his bed. He lays back getting comfortable on the bed as Bruce crosses the room and comes back with his sleeping pup.
“She’s a girl beta, congratulations.” Bruce whispers as to not wake up the baby.
“You’re so pretty.” Tim sobs as he holds his baby for the first time, he scents her, rubbing his scent glands gently on her head, marking her as his, “I’m so happy to finally meet you pup.”
Bruce sits back down on the bed next to him, “She’s beautiful, just like her mother.”
There’s silence for a moment, then Tim says softly, not taking his eyes off his pup, “Go ahead and ask. Ask who the sire is.”
“We don’t have to talk about that now. There’s plenty of time for that later.” Bruce moves Tim’s hair out of his face.
“You wouldn’t know her anyways... I met her while you were lost in time. I haven’t seen her since we... you know. She doesn’t know about the pup.” Tim explains, he’d rather explain it now, that way everyone isn’t gossiping about him behind his back.
“Are you going to try and contact her?”
“I don’t know...” Tim mumbles, he doesn’t know if he can do this by himself, but he also doesn’t want an alpha telling him what to do. When he was around Lynx she didn’t seem like that kind of alpha, but Tim doesn’t know her that well.
“Whatever you choose, the pack will support you.” Bruce promises.
“Don’t act like I’m still apart of the pack. It’s hurts more than you guys just admitting you don’t want me.” Tim glares at Bruce, pulling away from Bruce.
Bruce gives him a shocked face, like he didn’t know, “What are you talking about? You’re always welcome in the pack.”
“Yeah.” Tim scoffs, “That’s why Robin was taken from me, why all my stuff was thrown out and why you guys do pack things without me.”
“I.... I didn’t know about that. Dick said you took your stuff.”
Shaking his head, Tim blinks back tears, “No, Damian threw out all my stuff. I didn’t have a chance to get anything before Damian completely replace me.”
“Dick let him do that?”
“Why would he care? He got a new cuter little brother, he doesn’t need me anymore.” Tim feels the urge pull his lips back in a snarl, but he resists, not wanting to get too worked up about it.
A soft growl coming from Bruce, causes Tim to bristle, “I will have a talk to Dick later.” Then noticing that Tim’s scent changed to afraid and aggressive mom, Bruce changes his tone quickly, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare. I just... can’t believe that Dick would do that. Anyone that kicks out the only pack omega is an enemy to the pack.”
“I don’t know if I want to be apart of the pack.” Tim looks away, then down at his baby girl. She deserves a family, a good pack. But is the Wayne pack a good pack? Looking back at Bruce the hurt of his face shocks Tim. Bruce usually doesn’t show this much emotion.
“I can’t believe that our pack was so bad that we chased away our only omega.” Bruce rubs his forehead.
Guilt gnaws at him, Tim knows how important the pack’s omega is. The omega is usually what keeps the pack together. Not only do they take care of the pups, but they also keep the alphas from fighting. The betas try to keep things calm with the neutral scent, but nothing calms an alpha down more than an omega. The alphas in this pack are already stubborn hot heads, without an omega it’s unlikely this pack will stay together.
He loves the pack, but he doesn’t want his baby to grow up wondering if she belongs there. Or for one day that pack to change their minds and kick them both out, “I’m sorry but I’m leaving as soon as I’m healed.”

Chapter 13

Summary:

Tim’s baby gets name! Also a story about Jack being a dad.

Chapter Text

The little nursery that the pack made for Tim’s baby, warms his inner omega and he hates it. The pack smell in the room is making him nauseous. He doesn’t like that his baby is getting used to their smell.
The rocking chair in the room, is super comfortable. It has the perfect amount of cushion and support. Tim rocks his tiny baby in his arms, she’s awake, but is slowly falling asleep. She can barely keep her light brown eyes open.
He still needs to figure out a name for her. He’s been avoiding that while he was pregnant, because he wasn’t sure if he was going to keep her or not. Seeing her little face, there’s no way that he can bare the thought of leaving her side.
“I think Jaqueline is a good name for you.” Tim whispers softly.
He likes how it’s similar to Jack, his father. Jack was a terrible father most of Tim’s childhood. He believed that omegas were only meant for breeding. By the time Tim was six, Jack had already had several alpha lined up to buy him.
It was a rare day when his parents were home and not away on a dig. During those rare days were even more rare days when Jack acted like a real father to him. There was a time when Tim was sick while his parents was home. Janet didn’t want him anywhere near her, because she didn’t want to get sick. So Jack had to be the one to take care of him.
At first Tim was scared that Jack would hurt him, but Jack gently scoops Tim up in his arms. Wrapping Tim up in a blanket and rocking him while telling him stories about his travel. It was so nice, Tim felt bad falling asleep while he was talking. When he woke up, Jack and Janet were gone, but Tim didn’t mind. It was the best memory that he ever had of Jack.
He didn’t have many memories of Janet after that, she died in Haiti when Tim was nine. Jack stopped taking long trips away from home, but just because Jack was home, doesn’t mean that he was a better father. They could go days without saying even a word between each other. Most days Tim wondered if Jack even wanted him around. He hated feeling like he didn’t belong.
But the day that Jack died, he proved that he did care about Tim. He died a year before Bruce was lost in time, back while Tim was still Robin. It was a Thursday night and Tim was at home trying to finish up all his schoolwork so that he wouldn’t have to worry about it during his weekend with at titans.
He didn’t expect to even see his father, let alone that it’d be the last time he’d ever see him. Being so engrossed in his homework, Tim startled when Jack suddenly sat down at the kitchen table next to him. He looked more tired than usual, but he smiled at Tim, which was rare.
“What are you doing here?” Tim mumbled looking back down at his book.
“Can’t a father want to spend time with his son?” Jack gently caressed the side of Tim’s face.
It was weird for Jack to take interest in Tim, but he decided not to question it and just enjoy the company. He doesn’t know if Jack somehow knew that something was going to happen, or if he just had a bad feeling. It was nice spending time with Jack. Unfortunately it didn’t last long.
While in they were talking school, someone broke into their house. Capital Boomerang. Even to this day the name causes Tim to shiver. He felt so useless, he was Robin. He should have been able to protect his father, but the overwhelming smell of angry alpha kept Tim glued to his seat. Too afraid to move, moving could anger the alpha even more.
To Tim’s surprise, Jack stood up and stood protectively in front of Tim. He’d always figured if something bad were to happen that Jack would just abandon him. It shocked him. Made his heart swell in his chest.
It all happened so fast. Jack grabbed a knife nearby and threw it at Captain Boomerang at the same time Capital Boomerang threw a boomerang. The knife hit Captain Boomerang in the neck and the boomerang in Jack’s chest. They both fall over.
Tim rushed to Jack’s side, “Dad! Are you ok?”
Dark blood spread across Jack’s chest. He let out a cough, then turned his head towards Tim. Smiling softly, blood dripped down Jack’s chin, “I’m sorry Timmy.... I love you...”
Those were Jack’s last words.
Naming his baby girl after Jack, would be a way that Tim can honor him. To kinda thank Jack for saving him. Plus Tim likes the way the name sounds.
“Jaqueline Drake.”

Chapter 14

Summary:

The Titans come to see Tim and his pup

Chapter Text

Conner’s pov
The only member of the titans that knew that Tim was pregnant was Conner. So the rest were surprised to hear that Tim was inviting them to Wayne manor and even more surprised when they smelt the scent of newborn pup in the air. Alfred lead the team up to Tim’s room, where he’s sitting in his rocking chair half asleep feeding the baby. Dick is standing next to tired omega making sure that he doesn’t drop the pup or let the towel covering his chest doesn’t fall off. He smiles at them when they come in.
“You had the baby! Congratulations.” Conner smiles and walks over to Tim, “What’s the name?”
“You have a baby?!” The rest of the team cry out in surprise, then turn to Conner, “And you knew?!”
“Can’t really hide a lot from a Kryptonian.” Conner shrugs.
“Sorry I hid it from all of you... I just wasn’t sure I was keeping her.” Tim says, then yawns, “‘er name is Jaqueline.” Tim pulls the towel off to show them the baby, but accidentally exposes his breast as well.
“Tim your chest-“ Dick tries to quickly cover him up, but Tim has turned away from him and ignores him.
Pulling the baby off his chest, Tim holds her out to Conner, “Do you want to hold her?”
Conner smiles as he takes the baby. Tim tries to stand up and his legs give out. Before he hits the ground, Dick catches the exhausted omega.
“Oh my gosh, are you ok?” Cassie gasps reaching out to help Tim.
“He’s alright, he’s just recovering from giving birth.” Dick lifts Tim up and carries him over to the bed. It’s easy with how much weight Tim has lost after giving birth.
“We can come back later when he’s feeling better.” Raven suggests, probably sensing the pain coming off Tim.
“No no, ‘m fine.” Tim mumbles and curls up on the bed, “Jaqueline should meet the rest of her pack.”
Conner’s heart swells hearing the little omega say that he thinks of the team as pack. He looks down at the pup in his arms, she looks so much like Tim. She has big eyes that look like she understands way more than she does. Then she scrunches up her little face and lets out a wail.
“What did you do Conner?” Bart glares at him.
“I didn’t do anything.” Conner panics.
Tim immediately sits up and wildly looks around the room, “J-Jaqueline?”
The scent of distressed omega causes Jaqueline to cry even louder. Conner quickly walks over to the bed and hands the pup to her mother. Tim moves the towel that was covering his chest to his shoulder, exposing his chest again. He lifts the pup onto his shoulder and starts patting the pup’s back. Dick fixes Tim’s shirt, so his breast are no longer hanging out.
“So how are things are the tower.” Tim asks once Jacqueline calms down.
“Not as exciting as having a baby!” Bart climbs into the bed next to Tim.
“Babies aren’t exciting. They just sleep the whole time.” Tim laughs softly.
“So who’s the sire?” Rose blurts out, they all turn to look at her and she just shrugs, “What? That’s what we’re all thinking.”
“I don’t really want to talk about it.” Tim whispers, the room goes quiet, the only sound in Jacklin’s soft coos.
“What’s her caste?” Gar tries to make things less awkward.
“She’s a beta.” Tim says softly and removes the pup from his shoulder, “She’s better now, you can hold if you’d like.”
“I definitely want to hold her.” Cassie steps forward, “She’s so cute.”
Tim hands her to Cassie and leans against Bart, “Not when she screams all night.”
“That’s the problem with babies. All they do is scream and eat.” Bart shakes head.
“If you ever need a break, I’m more than happy to babysit this cutie.” Cassie nuzzles Jacklin, who coos in response.
“I appreciate the offer.” Tim smiles at her, “Maybe when she older I’ll take you up on that.”
“Don’t hog her, let me hold her too.” Garfield reaches out to Cassie and she hands him the pup.
Conner has heard that a lot of omegas are very protective of their pup, but Tim doesn’t seem to mind that team is passing her around. He just keeps warily glancing at Dick, like he’s afraid that Dick will get to close to the pup. It’s strange to him, he’s known that Tim and his actual pack haven’t been getting along, but he shouldn’t be afraid of them. If he’s this scared of Dick, then maybe Tim and the pup shouldn’t be living with them.

Tim’s pov
The titans stay for a while, all of them telling stories about what he’s missed and taking turns holding Jacqueline. Even Rose seems to enjoy herself. When the pup starts to fall asleep, the Titians start to leave. Tim putting her in the crib as the Titans and Dick leave the room. All except for Conner.
“How are you doing? I mean being here with the bats.” Conner whispers softly as to not wake Jaqueline. He stands close to Tim, it’s comforting.
“It’s alright for now... but I don’t think I’ll stay.” Tim shakes his head, “I wanted give her the best life that I can.”
“I know that you will. You’ll be an amazing mom.” Conner puts his arm around Tim, pulling him even closer, “But I don’t think that you’re pack is.... right for her. I think it’s a good idea to leave. You should come stay with the Titans. Or you could even come stay with me.”
“I’d love that Kon, but I’m not sure that the Teen Titans is the right kind of pack for her.” Tim presses his head into Conner’s chest, he knows that it’s the same situation with the Bats. He doesn’t come first for the Titans, they have their own packs. Jaqueline should never feel like second best.
“I know it’s not perfect, but it’s better than here right?” Conner softly nuzzles the top of Tim’s head causing him purr.
It feels nice and right. Tim pulls away from Conner, because he can’t do this. Tim has had a crush on Conner since they were apart of the Young Justice. Conner has only ever seen him as a friend. Conner has always been in love with Cassie. There’s no way that Tim has a chance with him, which he’s accepted a long time ago. But it doesn’t make any of this hurt less.
“I think this is just one of those things I need to figure out by myself.” Tim says softly, then gives Conner a small smile, “But if I ever need help, you’ll be the first one I call.”
“I’ll always be here for you. Shout and I’ll hear you.” Conner ruffles Tim’s hair, then leans down and kisses the top of Jaqueline’s head, “I’ll see you later, you should bring her to the tower soon.”
“I will.” Tim promises and watches as Conner leaves the room, then sinks into the rocking chair.
Can he really raise a pup by himself? He does have a job that pays plenty and a nice apartment that does have a spare room. The spare room is full of case files and equipment, it’d be easy for him to move it to his Robin’s Nest. He could paint it and decorate it for Jaqueline. She would have to go to daycare, but then he wouldn’t get to see her for a lot of the day. Maybe he could do work online, but a lot of people he works with already look down on him for being an omega. He doesn’t need to give them more ammo to use against him.
Sighing softly, Tim closes his eyes. There’s a lot to stress about, but right now, he needs to control his scent as to not wake Jaqueline. He’ll worry about what to do next when he’s healed enough to leave.

Chapter 15

Summary:

Tam comes to visit Jacqueline

Chapter Text

“I am pissed.” Tam storms into Tim’s room. She finds Tim watching Sherlock on his phone while trying to rock Jacqueline to sleep.
“Shhhh, I almost got her to sleep.” Tim whispers, Jacqueline has been having an unset tummy and she didn’t sleep well last night. Which means Tim also didn’t sleeping well.
“How could you not tell me that you went into labor?! Then you just texted me when you had the baby?! Two days later?!” Tam hisses, keeping her voice down trying not to disturb the baby, but her angry scent is causing Jacqueline to stir.
“It’s ok go back to sleep.” Tim nuzzles Jacqueline’s head, then whispers to Tam, “Your scent is bothering her.”
“I can’t just stop my scent! I super pissed at you! I helped you so much while you were pregnant and this is the thanks I get!”
Tim stops rocking and leans forward, “Why don’t you scent her? Baby scent is very calming.”
Tam glares at Tim, but bends down and scents the pup. Letting out a soft purr Tam pulls back with a smile on her face, “She smells amazing!! She’s so cute.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, I haven’t been feeling well since I went into labor. I’m so tired.” Tim yawns then smiles at Tam, “Her name is Jacqueline Tamara Drake.”
“Her middle name is my name?!” Tam gasps, she gently brushes her hand against the pup’s head. The pup already has dark black hair growing on top of her head.
“Of course, I definitely didn’t think of it just now.” Tim dodges Tam’s playful swipe at his head, “But it’s a good name and you are going to be her favorite aunt.”
“All is forgiven.” Tam presses a kiss to the top of Tim’s head. Then she takes a seat on his bed, “So have you decided on what you’re going to do?”
“Do? Do about what?”
“Everything. Since you named her, I’m guessing you’re keeping the pup. Are you going to move back here? Are you going to come back to work at W.E? Are you going to start crime fighting again?” Tam asks all the questions that have been going through his head.
Tim gently rubs Jacqueline’s back and stares down at the floor, “I don’t know... This is all too much too fast. I really should have planned more while I was pregnant.”
“Well your pack has accepted the pup as one of them, maybe it’s better for you just to stay here until you figure things out.” Tam suggests, it’s difficult for a pack to accept new members into the pack, especially new pups. It was months before Tim was accepted into the pack, it’s amazing that they’ve already accepted Jaqueline.
“It’s not safe here.” Tim hisses, because he doesn’t feel safe. Not with Damian, Stephanie and Jason this close by. He can’t be that none of them will try to harm Jacqueline. It’s impossible for Tim to relax being around them.
Tam gives a sympathetic look, “Tim, your pack won’t hurt your pup.”
“They’ve already hurt me, why won’t they hurt her?” Tim hisses and covers Jacqueline protectively with his free arm.
“I’m sure they didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“Jason tried to slit my throat. Damian has stabbed me. Stephanie lead me into a trap.” Tim snaps, “Those are just a few explains of how they’ve hurt. We’d be here all day if I were to list them all.”
“Oh... maybe it’s not good for you to be here.” Tam stares at him with wide eyes, “I didn’t know your pack was so crazy.”
“They’re fine most of the time.” Tim shrugs, he feels guilty talking bad about his pack, even though he knows he shouldn’t. They don’t even want him, why shouldn’t he talk bad about them? But Tim can’t bring himself to say anymore.
“If you need a place to stay, you can stay with me.” Tam offers.
“Thanks. Right now, I’m too injured to travel very far. But when I heal, I promise I’ll let you know if I need help.” Tim says and Tam presses another kiss to his forehead.
“You better keep this promise.”

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov
Hearing what Tim had to say about what happened while Bruce was gone, hurts so much. Of all the things Bruce had predicted would happen if he died, Dick kicking Tim out of the pack wasn’t one of them. Dick and Tim had been close since Tim joined the pack. Dick always treated Tim like a little brother, it doesn’t make sense.
Once things calm down after Jacqueline’s birth, Bruce goes to find his oldest son to get to the bottom of this. He finds Dick in the living room with Damian. They’re sitting together on the sofa watching The Walking Dead.
“Dick, can I speak to you in private?”
“Father, me and Grayson are having bonding time. Come bother him later.” Damian huffs, while trying to squirm out Dick’s hug.
Dick roughly scents the alpha pup, “Can’t it wait to the end of the show?”
“It’s important.” Bruce says shortly, he likes seeing his pack getting along, but if he doesn’t get this straightened out the pack could fall apart.
“Alright, I’ll be back soon.” Dick reluctantly lets go of Damian and follows Bruce out of the room, “What’s up B?”
“I want to talk you about Tim.” Bruce leads Dick to his study. He takes a seat behind his desk and motions for him sit in the chair in front, “You should probably take a seat.”
“Ok.... is he alright? Is the pup alright?” Dick asks, there’s concern in his voice.
“They’re both physically fine. But Tim wants to leave as soon as he’s healed. He doesn’t think that he’s apart of our pack.”
“Why does he think that?” Hurt crosses Dick’s face, this is going to a difficult conversation.
Bruce is going to have to be gently about this, “He thinks.... While I was gone things... you pushed him out the pack.”
“I-I did?!” Dick gasps, “How did I push him out?”
“He said that you kicked him out and took Robin from him.”
“Damian needed it more, I’ve talked to him about this a bunch of times.” Dick huffs and crosses his arms, “And Tim left on his own, I didn’t make him do anything.”
“You know what Robin means to Tim.” Bruce says softly, being Robin was the best thing that happened to Tim. He’s made that very clear every time he went out on patrol.
“What was I supposed to do? Just ignore Damian so that Tim could cling to his childhood dream of being a hero?” Dick growls harshly.
“I know it’s hard to make those decisions. Being pack leader isn’t easy.” Bruce says slowly, trying to keep these things calm, “You did a good job, but right now we’re losing Tim. Don’t you remember how much it hurt when Jason became Robin?”
“That was different!”
“It was. You were done with Robin, Tim wasn’t.
That seems to make Dick finally understand. He stares down at his hands, ”I... I guess you’re right. There was just so much to deal with at once. I thought Tim could handle himself, so I ended up driving him away. I never thought about how much it’d hurt him. I just wish that he would have told me how much he was hurting...” Dick pauses then puts his head in his hands, “No... he did tell me, I just didn’t listen. What have I done? I kicked out the pack omega...”
“We can fix this.” Bruce isn’t sure if that’s true, but the fact that Tim came to them when he went into labor proves that they at least have a chance, “We just have to show Tim that and his pup are not only are they safer here, but that they are also welcome to stay.”
“That shouldn’t be difficult, right? We all want him here.... well maybe not Damian, but I’m sure that I can convince him to at least pretend that he does.” Dick lifts his head out of his hands.
“I’ve tried telling him that he’s wanted, but he didn’t believe me. We’re going to have to do some kind of gesture.” It used to be easier to convince Tim, he was such a trusting pup. How much has the pack hurt him? And how can they reverse the damage caused?
“I might have an idea.” Dick smiles, the beta has always been quick to bounce back, like a little kid.
“Let me know how I can help. Our pack has never been much, but I enjoy having all of you around.” Bruce stands up and walks around the desk.
“Wow, is than an emotion coming from the big bad alpha?” Dick teases.
Bruce just rolls his eyes, “Don’t you have a show that you’re going to watch?”
“Oh right! I’ll try to talk to Damian about Tim while we snuggle.” Dick purrs, he brushes fondly against Bruce as he exits the room.

Chapter Text

“Hi baby Jacqueline, good morning little one.” Dick purrs as boops Jacqueline’s nose. It’s been two weeks since the pup was born, this is the first time since her birth that Tim has been well enough to leave his room. Her big eyes stare curiously at the unfamiliar surroundings.
“Don’t touch her.” Tim growls and turns to move Jacqueline away from him.
Dick gives him a hurt look, but it quickly switch’s you a small smile, ignoring Tim’s growl, “So Timmy, do you have plans for this weekend?”
Tim wants to snap something sassy at him, but he decides to have mercy on the beta, “I’m probably still going to be too injured to leave, sooo no.”
“Good, I have something special planned for you.”
“I’m good.” Tim walks away from Dick to the kitchen.
“Come on, aren’t you even a little interested in what I have for you and Jaqueline?” Dick follows him into the kitchen.
“We don’t need anything.” Tim leaves out ‘from you.’
“How about you just think about it? If you don’t have anything else going on, then there’s no harm in joining me right?” Dick presses, his smile not wavering.
Tim realizes that he’s not going to drop it, so he just says, “Alright, I’ll think about it.”
Jaqueline lets out a small whimper and starts squirming. She’s omitting a soft distressed smell that indicates that it’s time for her to be fed. Tim thought he’d be able to at least eat before he fed her.
Sitting down at table, Tim pulls down his shirt and holds Jaqueline against his chest. Dick looks awkward next him, like he doesn’t know where to look. Tim smirks at him, “If you’re just going to stand there, why don’t you get me something to eat?”
“W-what do you want to eat?” Dick asks, staring up at the ceiling.
Usually Tim isn’t a big eater, but since he started breastfeeding, he’s been hungry all the time. He’s been eating more th twice what he used to, but he hasn’t gain any weight. He’s actually losing weight. It’s probably just muscle weight from lack of exercise, but the rest of the pack think that breastfeeding might be too much for him. Alfred has bought some formula for Jaqueline, but Tim refuses to use it. Not only is it healthier for her to be breastfed, but it’s also forming a bond between them. He doesn’t want to risk weakening that bond at such an earlier age.
“Maybe oatmeal? Definitely some fruit... could use something with protein, like sausage or bacon? Oooo and a bagel with Nutella on it.”
“Is that all?” Dick laughs and walks over the fridge.
“Do we have chocolate milk?”
“Yes we do.” Dick pulls it out and pours Tim a glass. He sets it down in front of Tim, then walks away to start cooking breakfast.
It’s been a long time since Tim had Dick’s cooking, not since he was a pup having a sleep over at Dick’s place in Bludhaven. He’s pretty good at it, but it’s nothing like Alfred’s. But Alfred is currently busy. Bruce was out late on patrol, so late that he didn’t get back until early that morning. So Alfred is still in the Batcave fixing Bruce up, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves for breakfast.
Jaqueline squirms away from his chest and starts whimpering again. Tim lifts her up and burps her. He constantly has a rag on his shoulder now, not that it matters that much, he always ends up with Jaqueline’s spit up on him.
Closing his eyes, Tim rocks Jaqueline while he burps her. He hasn’t been able to sleep well, not only because Jaqueline wakes him up by crying, but when he does sleep, he has nightmares. Nightmares about terrible things happening to Jaqueline, things that leave Tim waking up shaking and covered in sweat.
He’s unsure how much time passes with him resting his eyes, Jaqueline is content with staying on his shoulder while he rocked her. She doesn’t make a peep until Dick sets plates down in front of Tim. It startles Tim, which startles Jaqueline, she whimpers in response.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, I was talking to you the whole time.” Dick says as he arranges the food in front of Tim.
Jaqueline settles down after Tim gives her a nuzzle, letting off a calming scent, “It’s ok. I kinda dozed off there.”
“I can take her for you, so you can eat.” Dick offers.
“I’m fine.” Tim huffs and uses his free arm to grab a fork and stabs it into a sausage.
“Why won’t you let me hold her?” Dick asks sitting across the table from him.
“I don’t want her attached to anyone here. We aren’t going to stay here for very long.” Tim growls softly as he scarfs down the food, he’s way hungrier than he realized.
He’s been keeping the rest of the pack away from Jaqueline, she hasn’t been able to form even a small bond with any of them besides Bruce and Alfred. It’s pretty easy, because Jason left town for a mission, Damian doesn’t care, and the rest fell bad enough for him that they respect his wishes.
“You’re not going to let us see her if you move out?” Dick’s eyes get big and watery like a puppy.
Tim glares back at him, “I think it’d be easier on everyone that way.”
“Oh....” Dick gives him a sad look, “I guess.... if it’ll be easier for you....”
“It would be.” Tim sets his fork down, he has finished almost all of his food, enough that Alfred would be proud.
When he stands up to leave, his legs shake and give out. He’s unable to catch himself, landing on his knees, but makes sure not to drop Jaqueline.
“Tim! Are you ok?” Dick rushes to his side, “What happened?”
Everything below his waist hurts, he’s not sure if he’ll be able to stand back up. Tim lets out a distressed whimper and Jaqueline starts getting upset.
“Hey, let me help baby bird.” Dick crouches down in front of him and reaches his arms out towards him.
He doesn’t want help, he wants to show that he can do this by himself. But at the moment, he can’t. He’s too injured to be able to take care of himself and his pup. It’s so frustrating that tears prickling his eyes, “I... alright. P-please help me.”
Dick takes Jaqueline from Tim, since Jaqueline doesn’t know the beta she starts screaming. He quickly hands her back to Tim, “How about I go get Bruce? Jaqueline knows Bruce.”
Tim holds Jaqueline close to his chest as he sobs silently. He knows he shouldn’t he this upset, it’s not like it’s a big deal. Bruce will come help him and get him back to his room. Where they’re safe.
The distressed scent coming off of him is causing Jaqueline to become even more upset. She’s screaming, her face is red and tears roll down her fat cheeks. Tim tries to fed her to calm her down, but she refuses to eat. He ends up rocking her and sobbing into her soft hair.
“Tim! Are you ok?!” Bruce asks as he, Alfred and Dick race into the room.
Tim wants to respond, but all he can get out is a small hiccup. He lifts Jaqueline up, Bruce takes her and hands her to Alfred.
Sitting down, Bruce pulls Tim into his lap and nuzzles the top of Tim’s head, “Why are you so upset pup?”
“I-I... I don’t know.. I think... that I’m just hormonal.” Tim says between hiccups. He’s been overly hormonal since before Jacqueline was born. It’s been making him over react to everything. A few days ago Tim started bawling because he dropped his waffle. When he’s frustrated, he cries, which makes him even more frustrated. He hopes that he gets over all these hormones soon.
Bruce rumbles a comforting purr, it makes Tim calm down a bit. Bruce murmurs softly, “It’s ok. It’s going to be ok.”

Summary:

Dick throws Tim a baby shower.

Chapter Text

The weekend comes faster than Tim expected. He doesn’t feel much better then when he said that he’d think about going to Dick’s surprise. There’s no way that he’s well enough to move out yet. It’s probably because he hasn’t been eating well since Dick invited him to this surprise. He’s missed a meal or two... or like five... It’s just because he’s stressed, it makes him anxious being in the manor for this long. He just forgets to eat, he doesn’t purposely skip meals. He’s afraid that if Alfred or Dick find out that he hasn’t been eat that much, that they’ll become really controlling. Telling him when he should eat and what he should eat. Tim hates having others tell him what to do.
Contemplating whether he should ignore Dick’s invitation or not, Tim lays in his bed staring at the ceiling. If they start acting like he can be apart of the pack again, it’ll make it harder for him to leave. He wishes that he hadn’t come back to the manor when he went into labor, he feels trapped here.
If Bruce asks him to stay with the pack, to rejoin.... Tim doesn’t know if he can say no. His inner omega wants his alpha father to be pleased with him. Just thinking about staying here makes his heart excited. He wants nothing more than to be with his pack, but he knows that being in the pack is bad for him. Just being around them, he’s unable to make his own decisions.
Knowing that he can’t hide from the pack while living in the manor, Tim decides to humor them. Maybe if he plays along, they won’t push him so much. Dragging himself off his bed he goes to get his pup dressed. He puts Jaqueline in a bear onesie. Most of the time she’s a very easy baby, only putting and cooing at the attention she’s receiving when Tim dresses her.
Once she’s dressed, Tim leaves his room with Jacqueline in his arms. Dick is waiting outside Tim’s room, he has no idea how long Dick has been standing there. Or how long he would have stayed if Tim had decided to ignore him.
“Good morning! Look how cute you both look!” Dick purrs when Tim steps out of his room.
Tim rolls his eyes, he knows that he looks like a mess. He’s wearing sweatpants that are too big for him, a red sweatshirt with spit up stains on it. His hair wet from the shower he just took, it’s a mess from him towel trying his hair. There are dark bags under his eyes and his skin is paler than usual, “Yeah we look amazing. Where is this surprise?”
“It’s downstairs.” Dick leads Tim away from his room, careful not to get too close to Tim, like he’s afraid that he’ll spook Tim.
By the time they get to the bottom of the stairs, Tim is biting the inside of his cheek to keep from showing that he’s in pain. Alfred told him that his injury has gotten infected. Since Tim refuses to stop breastfeeding, he can’t have any antibiotics. So he’s been trying some topical natural remedies, but they’ve been doing nothing for the pain.
“Right through here.” Dick motions to the door to one of the spare studies that is used as a hangout for the pack.
Suppressing the urge to roll his eyes as he presses the door open with his free hand. He’s not sure what he was expecting, but it definitely wasn’t almost the entire batfamily pack in the room. There is a banner on the back wall that says, ‘It’s a girl!’ and there’s a table near the banner that has pastel colored presents.
“Surprise!” A few of them shout, causing Jaqueline to stir in his arms.
“Shhh!! You guys are scaring Jaqueline!” Stephanie snaps and rushes to his side, giving off a calming omega scent. The scent calms down both Tim and Jaqueline.
“What’s going on?” Tim asks looking around the room suspiciously. Bruce, Stephanie, Cass, Damian, Alfred and Barbara are in the room. It’s strange seeing so many of them in the same place with none of them in their gear.
“We’re throwing a baby shower for you, since you didn’t get to have one.” Dick explains, searching Tim’s face for his reaction.
“T-this is kind of... nice.” Tim mumbles, his heart swells with happiness and he suppresses the urge to purr. He wants to run away, because he knows what this is. It’s a trap. They’re hoping that if he has a good time here then he won’t leave.
“Great! Because I got the best gift for Jackie.” Stephanie leads Tim over to the couch where most of the pack was sitting.
“No me.” Cass smiles at him, nudging him with her wrapped gift.
Tim looks at Cass, then down at his pup in his arms. There’s no way he can unwrap any of the presents with Jaqueline in his arms. He glances at Bruce for help. Bruce is the only one that he trusts to hold his pup.
Giving Tim a soft smile, Bruce takes Jaqueline. She coos softly when she’s in Bruce’s arms. She’s already bonded to him. He’s the only member of Wayne pack that she’s bonded to.
It stresses him a bit to not have Jaqueline in his arms, so he opens up the gifts as quickly as he can. They’re all nice gifts, mostly hero themed baby stuff, like a Batman sippy cup, a Green Lantern bib, and Wonder Woman rattle. They’re nice gifts and Tim really likes them, but they’re making him confused. Right now all he wants to do is be with his pack, but he knows that this can’t last. As soon as Tim agrees to stay, then things will back to the way they were. He doesn’t understand why they’d be so cruel to him. They don’t want him to leave, but they want to kick him out. So Tim pushes down his bad feelings and pretends that he loves the baby shower.

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov

Dick’s idea to throw Tim a baby shower seems like a success. It showed Tim that the pack not only want him to stay, but that they are also excited have Jaqueline join the pack. Tim seemed to really enjoy the shower, he even let Dick help him back up to his room. Dick and Tim’s relationship is starting to be repaired. It makes Bruce happy to see his pack getting along. They may not lose the pack omega after all. After Tim, Dick and Jaqueline leave the room, Damian ruins Bruce’s good mood.
“So how long do we have to pretend to be happy about the pup living here?”
“We’re not pretending Damian. I’m happy that Jaqueline is living here.” Bruce narrows his eyes at the alpha pup, but he keeps his voice even. He’d like to keep this from becoming an argument, “Why don’t you like her being here?”
“She’s Drake’s bastard pup, there’s nothing to like. She’s loud and smells weird.” Damian scrunches his nose in disgust, “I think it’d be best for everyone if they both left.”
Bruce is glad that Damian didn’t bring this up with Tim in the room. This must be one of the reason why Tim doesn’t feel welcome in the pack. He’s going to have to get Damian to realize how important Tim is or he’ll end up driving Tim away.
“Damian, Tim is the pack’s omega. He helps keep the pack together. Without him, the pack is likely to fall apart.” Bruce tries to explain it in terms that Damian would explain. Surely Ra’s would have taught Damian how important omegas are to the pact, even if he didn’t teach Damian to respect them.
“Brown is an omega too, she can keep the pack together. She’s less obnoxious than Drake.” Damian points out, which is sort of a step in the right direction. Stephanie and Damian used to always be at each other’s throats, to hear him consider her as pack is surprising. She’s not really pack, she has her own pack, but she hangs around their pack enough that Tim would consider her pack. No one else, including Stephanie, really thinks of her as pack.
“I’m glad that you and Stephanie are getting along, but I wish you’d get along with Tim as well.” Bruce frowns, “I’m sure you’d both have a lot in common if you’d just talk with him. Did you know that he likes animals?”
“Everyone likes animals.” Damian rolls his eyes and scoffs.
Bruce can feel a headache coming on and tries this from a different approach, “Just agree that’s you’ll have a civil talk with Tim, ok? Without causing a fight.”
“Why would I want to do that?” Damian asks, clearly hoping that Bruce would give him something for it.
“If you can get along with Tim, then I’ll let you go to the Kent’s farm for a weekend.” Bruce offers, Damian has been bugging him about going for weeks. Bruce has been saying no, because he’s afraid that Damian will want to start his own farm in the Batcave. They already have a cow and a turkey, how much more will Damian trying to sneak into the cave?
“You mean it?” Damian asks, his eyes going big, making him look his age.
“I mean it. I just want my pack to get along.” Bruce ruffles Damian’s hair.
“As long as I get to go to the farm, I can be civil with Drake for a few hours.” Damian goes back to his serious demeanor, but looking quite pleased with himself.

Chapter 20

Summary:

Jason comes to talk to Tim

Chapter Text

As soon as Dick dems that the baby shower is over, Tim escapes back up to his room with Jaqueline. He left all the gifts that he got downstairs. Dick will probably bring them up later.
Soft purrs come from Jaqueline as she sleeps. She’s happy being around her pack. It make her feel comfortable, which makes Tim uncomfortable.
After laying Jaqueline in her crib, Tim pulls out his phone and texts Conner, ‘Does your offer still stand?’
‘About you staying me? Of course. Did something happen with your pack?’ Conner quickly replied back.
‘It’s just that Jaqueline is getting too comfortable around the pack. I’m afraid if I wait too long then, moving out will be really hard on her.’ Tim replies as he watches his pup’s chest rise and fall with every soft breath.
Suddenly Tim’s door swings open and Jason barges into the room, “Yo Replacement! I brought a gift for you and your baby! A gift for Babybird’s baby.”
“Shhh!” Tim hisses, bristling in surprise, “You’re going to wake up Jaqueline.”
“Sorry.” Jason lowers his voice and hands a small cardboard box, “Here. Sorry I’m late for your shower.”
Looking down suspiciously at the box, Tim frowns, “What is it?”
“Yeah, I kinda deserve you not trusting me.” Jason opens up the box and pulls out a tiny hoodie. The hoodie is red and has the Red Robin symbol in the middle.
“It’s.... amazing. Thank you.” Tim whispers taking the hoodie in his hands. It’s so soft, it’s a surprisingly good gift considering it’s coming from Jason.
There’s a low beep that comes from his phone, which he left open on his bed. It’s a text from Conner, ‘We have a guest bedroom, just text and I can pick the both of you up whenever you want.’
“So, you’re leaving?” Jason asks, having seen the text.
“Yeah, but I’m not sure when.” Tim shrugs, turning away from him.
“Never thought you’d be the first to leave, but with how everyone here treats you, I guess it makes sense.” Jason says softly.
“Others? You’re one of them.” Tim glares at him.
“I know that I hurt you. I shouldn’t ask for you forgiveness, but I’m sorry.” Jason stares down at his feet, like he’s actually ashamed of himself, “No one can really blame you for leaving. If you need help moving out, I wouldn’t mind helping.”
“Why are you being nice to me?” It’s not normal for Jason to care about Tim.
“I’ve killed Alphas that have done less to pack omegas than what this pack has done to you. Killed Alphas that have done less to omegas than I have done to you.”
Blinking up at Jason, Tim doesn’t feel any malice coming from the older alpha. Jason has always been very protective over street omegas, but he never cared about Tim. He just guessed that Jason didn’t see Tim as an Omega. Tim was definitely not what the definition of an Omega is.
“Do you really think leaving is the best decision?” Tim breathes out, he’s so unsure of himself. He questions every move he make as
“I think that you should do what feels right. You’re a mother now, you know what’s best for your baby.” Jason puts his hand Tim’s shoulder.
“I wish that was true. Nothing feels right. My first decision I made about Jaqueline was to ignore that I was pregnant. I don’t know what I’m doing.” Tim hiccups, his eyes filling with tears. He’s being over emotional again, he hates it.
“Hey. Timmy.” Jason grabs Tim’s face turning it towards him, “You might not be perfect, but no one is. I know you and I know how smart you are. Even though you might make a mistake, you’ll be able to fix it. So you don’t need to be scared about what to do next, in the end everything will turn out fine. You aren’t alone either. You have your Titans friends and even though I’m not the best choice, I’m here for you too.”
Sobbing softly, Tim presses himself against Jason and hugs him tightly, “Thanks Jay.”
Jason stiffens for a moment, caught off guard by the hug, then he hugs Tim back, “Don’t mention it. You know.... if you do end up leaving, it’ll be hard for me to stick around the pack.”
“Why is that?” Tim asks, putting his face near Jason’s neck. He enjoys the scent of familiar alpha.
“You’re the only cool member in this pack. Well besides Cass, but she’s not fun to have a conversation with.” Jason shrugs, rubbing one of his hands comfortingly up and down Tim’s back, “It’s nice when I need help with a case to have someone that isn’t going to judge me or trying to micromanage my life.”
“I just like to be helpful.” Tim murmurs, he didn’t realize that he had a special relationship with Jason. He still has nightmares about Jason trying to kill him.
“You’re not fit to leave yet, are you?” Jason asks suddenly.
“Alfred says I’m not.” Tim grumbles pulling away from Jason.
“The pack is trying to change you know. For you. I gave them a chance when I came back to life, maybe you should give them a chance as well.” Jason looks away, trying to look none interested, “Not that... You should do what you want, ok? It’s just... I think that Jaqueline would like to see the new Aquarium. They built in Gotham, before she leaves.”
“Ok... If Alfred says that I’m healed enough, then we’ll go to the Aquarium together.” Tim smiles softly, “But I still haven’t decided on staying or not.”
“I will support you either way.” Jason says and it’s nice to hear coming from the older alpha. Since Tim first saw Jason in the Robin suit, he’s wanted to become friends with him. Maybe if he stays in the pack, then he and Jason could become friends. Maybe staying with the pack wouldn’t be as bad as he thought.

Chapter Text

The idea of going to the aquarium is way more appealing to Tim than he thought it’d be. Even though there’s no way that Jaqueline will be able to remember it, he likes the idea of taking her out of the house. He also wants to take a lot of photos of Jaqueline while he’s there. It’s been a while since he’s practiced his old hobby. The lighting and the fish will make the photos look amazing. The inner photographer in Tim keens with excitement.
He packs up all his photography gear and baby stuff then heads out of his room. Downstairs is buzzing with the excitement, all of the pack members are excited that Tim agreed to go anywhere with them. With how busy it is on the first floor, it’s easy for Tim to slip through the pack and avoids Alfred. If Alfred sees him, then the beta will try to do a health check on him. Alfred will definitely find Tim not healthy enough to go out. Tim is an adult omega, he can decide if he’s healthy enough. He’s not, but that’s his decision to make. He’s not as weak as they think he is. He can handle himself.
The car has already been pulled out of the garage and Dick has already packed it full of stuff that they don’t need for a trip to the Aquarium. They’re taking a dark purple van that Dick convinced Bruce to buy when Tim was still a pup. It was back when Bruce first adopted Tim. At that time, Tim had joined the soccer team, as an attempt to make some friends at school (It didn’t work. His team hated him because he was always late.). Whenever Dick saw Bruce driving the van, he’s bust out laughing, saying that the big bad bat had turned into a soccer mom. Tim really misses those times.
Stephanie is currently fumbling with getting the baby car seat strapped in. Setting his bags down, Tim takes a seat on the stairs to watch. Jaqueline makes soft noises in her sleep from where she’s tucked in against his chest. Tim is wearing a baby carrier wrap that he got at the baby shower. It’s one of the few non-superhero themed gifts that he got. It frees up his hands and Jacqueline really seems to like it.
“Hey Timmy! I didn’t see you there.” Stephanie smiles when she notices him, “This car seat hates me.”
“Well it’s a good thing you’re not the one that has to sit in it.” Tim smiles softly. He’s glad that he’s still able to have normal conversations with her.
“-Tt- I’m not surprised that Brown can’t do something as simple as place a baby seat inside of a car.” Damian steps out of house, he gives Tim a dirty look before he walks past Tim.
“Like to see you try.” Steph puts her hands on her hips.
“Hand it to me. I’ll install it.” Damian takes the car seat and goes to the van.
Stephanie walks over to where Tim is sitting, “He thinks he’s so smart, but now I don’t have to work.”
“Better check it when he’s done. I don’t want him sabotaging it.” Tim grumbles and gently nuzzles this pup.
“Don’t worry I will.” Stephanie says seriously, then leans over to look at Jaqueline, “Hey there pup. How’s she doing?”
“Really good.” Tim purrs, “She’s eating and sleeping regularly now. She’s also learned how to grab things, she grabs onto my finger all the time.”
“That’s so cute! I love the little outfit she has on.” Stephanie points down at the onesie that Jaqueline is wearing. It’s pale blue with a cartoon otter holding a baby otter. She’s wearing blue and white striped pants to match. On her feet, Jacqueline has tiny little converse shoes on even though they’re pointless, since they won’t touch the ground. But Tim loves putting shoes on her. They’re just so tiny on her tiny feet!
“The best thing about having a baby is buying tiny baby things for her.” Tim laughs, it really is one of his favorite things to do. His Amazon cart is currently full of tiny baby shoes.
“You’re baby seat has been installed.” Damian huffs and walks over to them.
“Is everyone ready to go?” Dick asks, stepping outside with a bag of snacks in his hand.
“Please Dickface, we’re going to an aquarium, it’s barely a day trip.” Jason rolls his eyes and slaps a nicotine patch on his shoulder. He has recently been trying to quit smoking. He doesn’t want the first time he holds Jaqueline for her to only smell smoke on him. He doesn’t want her to think of his scent as smoke. The problem is that it’s been making him even more snappy than usual.
“Isn’t Bruce coming?” Tim asks as he straps Jaqueline into the car seat. He’d feel more comfortable if the pack alpha was here.
“Bruce had to go to work. Things have been swamped since you started your maturity leave.” Dick explains getting into the driver seat, passing the snacks to Jason.
“Oh... ok.” Tim frowns, he doesn’t say anything more about it. Bruce is has better things to do than make Tim feel comfortable. If Tim wants to try staying with the pack, then he’s going to have to learn to become comfortable around them without Bruce.

Chapter Text

Whimpering softly, Tim curls up on himself. Everything in him feels weird. He feels hot and sick to his stomach. All he can think is that he wants Jack, he needs his pack alpha. The problem is that Tim’s pack alpha isn’t anywhere near him right now. Jack is out with his new omegan girlfriend in Bludhaven and Tim is in the titan tower on the other side of America.
Tim wasn’t feeling good that morning. He knew that he shouldn’t have come this weekend to the tower. But the last few weeks have been so busy with moving to Bludhaven, that Tim hasn’t been able to visit the Titans lately. Tim really misses his friends, especially Conner. The young Alpha is so handsome and fun to be around. Every time Tim thinks about Conner, his heart flutters and his stomach does flips. Right now, thinking about the alpha makes Tim’s stomach boil with warmth.
Thinking about Conner, suddenly all Tim’s thoughts are about him. All thoughts about Jack disappears. Keening softly, Tim wants is to be near the clone.
“Conner...” Tim whines softly, he wishes that he wasn’t alone in the tower.
With the move to Bludhaven, Tim hasn’t started his new school yet. He decided to come to the tower early, before the other members got out of school. He doesn’t want to be alone. Tim has been alone for most of his life. When he feels this sick, he doesn’t want to be alone. Tears stream down his face, Tim lays back on his bed.
“You call for me?” A voice says suddenly, Tim is pretty sure he’s imagining it. His face is hot, he thinks that he might have a fever. Then he feels the bed dips, “You ok, Buddy?”
Blinking, Tim sees that Conner is sitting down on his bed staring down at him with concerned eyes, “Kon..? H-How did you get here?”
“I flew here when I heard you call for me. Your face is all red, are you sick?” Conner asks, reaching out and touches Tim’s face. It feels cool against Tim’s hot skin, “Your scent is really sweet right now.”
“I don’t feel so good.” Tim whines and squirms. He feels like he’s wearing too much clothes and too little clothes at the same time. Everything is so confusing.
Breathing in deeply, he gets a whiff of Conner’s scent. It’s amazing! Tim leaps up and tackles the alpha. He smashes his face into the crook of Conner’s neck and scents him.
“Tim?! What are you doing?!” Conner gasps in shock of having the omega tackle him. He could easy throw Tim off of him, but he doesn’t want to hurt the smaller boy.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” Tim says softly, he should feel embarrassed, but he doesn’t. The only thing he feels is hot.
He suddenly has the urge to bite. Opening his mouth, Tim tries to sink his teeth into the meta’s neck. But Tim’s teeth aren’t strong enough to break through the clone’s bulletproof skin. So he satisfies himself with licking Conner’s neck instead. The clone tastes like sweat, musky alpha scent and sunshine. It’s amazing, Tim doesn’t want to stop.
The taste is addicting. It’s weird. This isn’t like any sickness he’s had before. Through the haze, Tim tries to figure out what’s happening to him. He’s weirdly hot, all he wants is alpha and he can’t get enough of the taste of alpha. It takes a minute for everything to click. Dragging himself away from Conner’s neck, Tim stares at the clone in shock, “I-I’m in heat!”
“Heat?! I thought you were a beta!” Conner stares back with just as wide eyes.
“I.... I lied about being a beta.. I didn’t want people to treat me differently.” Tim says softly, feeling guilty about lying to his closest friend. It was Bruce’s idea. Bruce thought that it’d be safer for Tim if his team thought that he was a beta. Tim never wanted to lie and he shouldn’t have let Bruce talk him into lying to his team.
“We’ll come back to that later. First we need to figure out what to do about... ‘this’.” Conner says with a cringe, “I don’t really... I want to help you, but I’m... I don’t... I’m dating Cassie.”
“.....” Tim blinks dumbly at Conner, then his face turns red when he realizes what Conner is taking about. Tim squeaks out, “No! I-I-I don’t need that!”
Tim quickly scrambles off of Conner’s body. Whole body feeling even more hot that than before. He couldn’t believe that Conner thought that Tim’d need the alpha to... do stuff to him. The thought makes his thighs warm for some reason. Tim has a huge crush on Conner, but Conner is dating Cassie. The clone is only into females. He doesn’t care about what their chaste is as long as their first sex is female. There’s no way he could ask Conner to help him in this situation. It’d be so weird and uncomfortable.
There’s no need for Conner’s help right now, at least that’s what Tim thinks. He doesn’t know much about heats. Health class hasn’t told him anything important about heats. They did say it’s not usual for twelve year olds to go into heat. Tim thought he’d have a year or two to worry about heats.
“Oh... What do you need then?” Conner asks softly.
“I don’t know... right now all I want is to be held by an alpha.” Tim says softly. Having Conner around is making his stomach hurt less.
“Well I can do that.” Conner sits up and gives him a smile.
He tucks Tim close next to him. Wrapping his arms around Tim. Purring softly, Tim presses his face into Conner’s chest.
After a while of silence, Conner asks, “Do you want to watch a movie or something?”
“That sounds nice.” Tim says with a purr, “We can make a nest in the living room and watch Disney movies.”
“Stay here, I’ll be right back.” Conner moves away from Tim, causing Tim let out a soft whine.
The clone moves at superhuman speeds, grabbing blankets off the bed and leaves the room. Seconds later, Conner returns and carries Tim out to the living room. Tim smiles when he sees the nest made out of all of the members of teams blankets. Conner tucks then both into the nest and turns on the tv.
“Will the rest of the team be made when see that we took their blankets?” Tim asks softly as Moana starts playing. A little afraid of making the team mad at him.
“If they have a problem, they can go through me.” Conner lays his head on top of Tim, it makes Tim purr even louder.
Closing his eyes, Tim hopes that the rest of the team takes a long time to arrive. He doesn’t want Conner to leave him, which he definitely will once the others show up. Letting out a happy scent, Tim murmurs softly, “Thank you.”
“No problem Rob.”

Chapter 23

Summary:

For this chapter I created some art to go with the story. I don't know how to insert the imagine into the story, because I'm an idiot when it comes to technology, but here's a link to my Tumblr where I posted the drawing https://www.tumblr.com/blog/redthepikachu

Chapter Text

The aquarium isn’t a long drive from the manor. Jaqueline sleeps the entire car ride and Tim starts to nod off as well. The harsh jerk of Dick slamming on the breaks pulls Tim out his daze. A car has pulled out right in front of them in the aquarium parking lot. Jason rolls down his window and starts yelling at the car. He doesn’t curse at all though, Tim is pretty impressed by Jason’s effort. Ever since Tim has been back in the manor, Jason hasn’t cursed or smoked at all around him.
Dick drives the car away to stop the yelling before it goes too far. He parks the car as close as he can to the building and they all file out of the van.
While Stephanie pulls out the stroller from the trunk, Tim gets Jaqueline out of her car seat. She stirs, whimpering as she wakes up. Purring, Tim gently rocks her in his arms, trying to sooth her. Once she’s calmed down, Tim sets her in the stroller. She’s never been in a stroller before, but she doesn’t seem to mind it. The stroller isn't that different from her swing, so Tim hopes that she doesn’t get upset about it later.
“I can push Jaqueline for you.” Stephanie offers.
“It’s fine, I can push her.” Tim says with a soft smile, to let Stephanie know that he isn't saying that because he doesn't trust her or anything like that. It's just that the stroller is currently keeping him steady.
They buy their tickets at the door and head into the new aquarium. Even the lobby looks amazing. The floor is made out of tiles that make it look like you’re walking on water. On the wall are painted sea creatures like whales, sharks and dolphins.
They walk through the aquarium. A lot of the rooms are completely glass, there are fish on either wall and on the ceiling. It causes the light in the rooms cause them to look blue with wave patterns on the floor. It's a photographer's dream. Tim takes several opportunities to take photos of Jaqueline. He even gets Stephanie to hold Jaqueline up so he can get photos of the both of them with the fish.
Everything is going so great, that Tim is surprised that nothing has gone wrong yet. Both Damian and Jason have been behaving and Dick has been leaving him alone.
Halfway through the aquarium, Jacqueline starts becoming fussy. Tim tries to push the stroller around in a circle to try and calm her down, but he knows that it won’t help much. That’s not reason she’s upset.
“What’s the matter with the pup?” Damian glares down at the whimpering pup.
“She’s hungry.” Tim sighs knowing that she'll just get more fussy if he doesn't feed her right now. So he parks the stroller near the bathroom. Gently, Tim takes his pup out of the stroller, she immediately uses her pudgy hands to paw at his chest. The t-shirt he’s wearing is not great for nursing, Tim is having a hard time maneuvering so that Jacqueline can get access to his chest.
“Are you trying to feed her right here?!” Dick squawks in surprise, his face turning red as he looks away from Tim.
“What?” Tim blinks at them in confusion, “What’s wrong with feeding her?”
“It’s disgusting!!” Damian hisses, this really irritates Tim.
“It’s only disgusting to you because you were grown in a test tube. Probably never even saw your mom until you were five.” Tim bares his teeth at the young alpha.
“My mother was still a better mother than you’ll ever be.” Damian snaps, it’s obvious by his facial expression that he immediately regrets saying it out loud. But it was too late, Tim is too pissed off to just let him off the hook for that.
Tim hands Jacqueline over to Stephanie and walks towards Damian. Dick steps between them, putting his hand on Tim’s shoulder.
“Don’t touch me.” Tim snarls, immediately moving away from Dick’s touch.
“S-sorry. But you know that he didn’t mean it.” Dick backs off, looking flustered, "Come on, Jaqueline is just getting more upset by this."
No matter how much Tim wants to fight Damian, he knows that he has to be the bigger person right now. Jacqueline has stopped whimpering and is now started screaming. Even if he wanted to fight, Tim isn’t sure that he’d win. His legs aren’t feeling that strong right now and his face is starting to heat up.
Without saying another word, Tim takes his pup from Stephanie again and heads into the omegan bathroom. Tim let’s out a pained whimper as he slides onto the bathroom floor. The cool tiles feel good against his hot face. He’s so worked up about Damian and it doesn't help that his infection is really starting to kick his butt.
Jacqueline is still screaming, so Tim lifts up his shirt and let’s her nurse. She starts calming down as she drinks. But Tim is able to calm down, his face is still burning up.
It’d be nice to have his phone on him, then Tim could vent to Conner about what happened. Not that he can’t do it later, it’d just make him feel better to do it now. It'd help him calm down a lot faster to know that there is someone that would take his side. Leaning down, Tim nuzzles the top of Jacqueline’s head. He’ll just have to settle with baby scent as a method to calm himself.
Once Jacqueline has had her fill, Tim struggles to get up off the floor. His legs have gone from weak to straight up wobbly. He’s not sure how much of this trip he will be able to do. After a moment of using the wall for support, Tim is able to compose himself enough to exit the bathroom. He’s surprised to see Jason and Damian fighting with each other right outside the bathroom.
“You brat are just trying to cause problems!” Jason growls, apparently he’s sticking to what he said about trying to be better towards Tim, “Why can’t you just leave Tim alone?”
“You’re the problem! No one even wants you hear!” Damian snarls back, he’s not very good at verbally fighting. He always just tries to personally attack someone even if it doesn’t always make sense in context.
“I think this trip is over.” Tim says, but no one pays attention to him.
Tim starts putting Jacqueline back into the stroller when Jason and Damian start to get physical. They start shoving each other, Damian shoved Jason so hard that Jason stumbled backwards into the stroller. This wouldn't usually be a problem, but Tim is feeling really weak. The small force from the stroller sends Tim falling backwards.
His instincts are to catch himself, but that would involve letting go of Jacqueline. Tim fights against the training Bruce instilled in him and lets himself fall backwards into his back. Pain spreads through his body, but that isn’t his concern right now. Tim peaks his eyes open and looks down at his pup. She’s crying, but he doesn’t think that she’s been hurt.
There’s yelling above him, but Tim doesn’t really care about what they’re saying. He slowly sits up and scents Jacqueline. Her scent is of upset pup, but she doesn’t smell like injured pup. Making Tim they out the breath that he’d been holding.
“Tim, are you alright? Is Jacqueline alright?” Stephanie crouches down next to him, she’s letting off a concerned and stressed scent.
“I think she’s alright.” Tim mumbles as he continues to scent Jaqueline.
“What about you?” Stephanie presses.
Blinking, Tim tries to assess his injuries. It’s wasn’t a bad fall, so he shouldn’t be that bad. Most of his pain is coming from in between his legs, looking down, Tim can see blood starting to stain his shorts.
“Here, take Jacqueline.” Tim hands the pup over to Stephanie. He’s afraid that she’ll get hurt if she stays with him right now.
Head pounding, legs aching and face sweating, Tim knows that he’s not going to be able to walk out of this aquarium. The room is spinning, he can hear people talking to him, but can’t make out what they’re saying. With Jacqueline in safe hands, Tim allows himself to succumb to all of the pain and dizziness. The world becomes a blur right before he passes out on the floor.

Chapter 24

Summary:

Happy Father’s! Here’s some Bruce and Tim angst.

Chapter Text

There’s a soft beeping when Tim wakes up. It takes him a minute to realize that he’s not in the manor. Looking around Tim finds himself in a hospital room. It’s not normal for him to wake up in a hospital instead of the Batcave after passing out. He passes out a lot, especially while out on patrol.
What happened at the aquarium slowly comes back to him, he lets out a soft groan at the memory. Tim starts to slowly sit up, when a hand gently pushes him back down. Turning his head, Tim sees that Bruce is sitting in the chair next to his bed. He looks exhausted.
“Bruce..?” Tim tries to speak, but finds his mouth terribly dry.
“Here.” Bruce grabs a cup of water off of a nearby table and helps Tim drink it, “How do you feel?”
“Where’s Jacqueline?” Tim asks instead of answering, scenting the air looking for his pup’s scent. At the moment, he feels completely numb, but he knows that the pain will return after they take him off of the painkillers.
“She’s at the manor with Alfred.” Bruce replies calmly.
“W-why isn’t she here?” Tim asks starting to panic, he’s never been away from her for this long, what if Ra’s tries to do something to her?
“You’ve been here for over a day, a hospital isn’t a good place for pup.” Bruce explains gently, “She’s not all alone, she’s safe in the manor with the rest of pack.”
Tim frowns, she should be fine, but he can’t push down his panic. He can’t trust them to take care of his pup, especially with Damian around. Would they try to stop Damian if he tried to hurt Jaqueline? It’s too stressful staying with the pack and he doesn’t know if staying at the manor is really safe for him or his pup.
“I don’t.... I don’t think I can stay with you for much longer.” Tim whispers softly, looking away from Bruce.
“I know that things went bad at the aquarium, but Damian and Jason didn’t mean to hurt you. We’ve all been trying really hard to make you feel comfortable with us.” Bruce gives Tim a sad look.
“I appreciate you all trying, but it’s... you don’t understand how hard this is for me.” Tim shakes his head, he doesn’t know how to explain all these things that he’s been feeling. He doesn’t want to hurt Bruce or any of the pack. He loves them, but it’s not right for him to stay with them. He wants to stay in a place where him and Jaqueline feels safe.
“I know this... I just... the pack won’t be the same with you.” There are tears in Bruce’s eyes, “You’re more than just the pack omega to us, you’re... my son.”
“I’m sorry.” Tim’s voice breaks, he wished that he was a better omega. But he can’t change himself for them, he needs to do what’s best for his pup.
“We’re always here for you, even if you aren’t living in the manor.” Bruce tries to give him a smile, but Tim can see how hard this is for him.
“I know and I appreciate it so much.” Tim leans over a nuzzles Bruce’s shoulder, taking in that alpha. It’s going to be hard to not think of that scent as pack alpha anymore.

Chapter Text

Not wasting anytime, as soon as Tim gets out of the hospital, he starts packing his stuff (after scenting Jacqueline of course). The painkillers are helping him with the packing, he can’t feel pretty much anything. Which is great for when he drops his tablet on his foot. Tim doesn’t even flinch, he just picks it up and packs it.
“You need any help, baby bird?” Jason asks, walking into Tim’s room.
“I’m doing fine on my own.” Tim huffs, shoving his clothes into his duffel bag.
“I’m sorry for what happened at the aquarium.” Jason has the decency to look embarrassed, “I should have been more mature about the situation.”
Running his hand through his hair, Tim says, “I know you didn’t mean it. But I can’t stay here anymore. I don’t think I will never feel safe here again.”
“You know that I meant what I said.” Jason puts his hand in Tim’s shoulder, “Whatever you choose, I will help you. That is if you want the help.”
Tim looks around his room, it used to be so empty, now it’s full of Jacqueline’s stuff and toys. It’ll take him a few hours to get all of her stuff packed away and Tim can’t be sure that the pain medicine will last that long, “I wouldn’t mind having some help.”
“Just tell me what you want me to do.” Jason smiles.
It takes them about an hour and a half to pack up all of Tim and Jacqueline’s stuff. By the time they finish, Tim can feel the pain medication wearing off. He sits down on his bed to take a quick break.
“How are you feeling?” Jason asks, sitting down on the bed next to him.
“I don’t know. A bit in pain. A bit confused.” Tim shrugs, “I think getting out of here will let me clear my mind and focus on what to do next.”
“The country air helps with thinking.” Jason jokes running his hands through his hair, “If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here for you.”
“Thanks.” Tim presses his face into Jason’s shoulder, it’s nice that Jason is supporting him. He knows that the others in the pack don’t agree with Tim’s decision.
Jason cards his fingers through Tim’s hair, “Let’s get these boxes downstairs before the super clone gets here.”

Jason, Bruce and Dick carry the boxes from Tim’s room down to the foyer. While they worked on the boxes, Tim waits on the couch in the living room. Cass sits next to him scenting him and Stephanie sits on his other side playing with Jacqueline who is in his arms. Damian hovers near the back of them, not wanting to draw attention to himself.
“Hey babybird, Conner is here.” Dick walks into the living room, his eyes are red rimmed like he’s been crying.
“Ok.” Tim slides out between Cass and Steph and follows Dick into the foyer where he finds Conner standing in front of the boxes.
“Hi Tim, you sure have a lot of boxes.” Conner greets him.
“Pups need a lot stuff.” Tim smiles at the alpha.
“Lucky for you, your moving company can take all of this in one trip.” Conner picks up all of the boxes and flies out of the manor at super speeds. It only takes a second before he returns empty handed. He gives Tim a small smile, “You ready to go?”
Glancing back at the pack standing there to see him off, Tim wavers for a moment. Was this the right thing to do? This has been his pack since he was a pup. The omega in him is telling him to stay, but the logical part of his brain tells him not to stay.
“I think so.”
Alfred comes up to Tim and pulls him into a hug. It’s not often the beta gives out hugs, Tim practically melts into the hug. Nuzzling Tim softly, Alfred says, “Make sure that you take your medicine on time, otherwise I’ll have drive over and make you take it.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t forget.” Tim wants to laugh, but it just makes him feel like crying instead.
Moving away Alfred, Tim walks over to Conner before anyone else tries to say goodbye. He knows that if continues this goodbye, then he’ll definitely start crying. Crying right now will just make this harder for everyone.
Tim tucks Jacqueline against his chest as Conner picks him up. The flight to Smallville is a lot slower than the flight Conner took all those boxes. Conner makes sure not to fly to high and is using his ttk to keep the wind out of Jacqueline’s face.
The alpha is trying his best to keep Tim’s pup safe. It makes Tim purr softly at the effort Conner is putting in. It’s already more effort than half of his pack has put in. Tim allows himself to relax against the super and enjoy the rest of the flight.

Chapter 26

Summary:

Short chapter with some fluff between Tim and Conner

Chapter Text

Living at the Kent farm has been a better than Tim guessed it would be. Jacqueline hasn’t seemed to mind the change in environment at all. He’s so grateful that she’s an easy baby.
The Kents let Tim move into their guest room. It’s smaller than Tim’s room in the manor, but he’s able to fit all of Jaqueline’s stuff in it, so he doesn’t complain. It’s only temporary after all. The Kent’s house is so much quieter than the manor and they give him plenty of space. Except for Conner, which Tim doesn’t mind that the clone keeps bothering him. It’s actually been pretty fun. It’s like a sleep over at his best friends house every night.
“You wanna watch the new Wendy the Werrewolf slayer movie with me?” Conner asks as he floats into the living room where Tim is feeding Jacqueline.
After the aquarium trip, Tim hasn’t been able to breastfeed his pup anymore, because he’s been put on antibiotics. Now he has to bottle feed Jacqueline with some powder formula. Tim doesn’t like it, Jacqueline didn’t like it at first either, but now she doesn’t mind the formula.
“I didn’t know that they were still making that show.” Tim laughs, he didn’t know Conner still etched the show.
“Of course it’s still on! They still haven’t catch the guy that killed Wendy’s dad!” Conner says like that’s a really important thing as he sits down on the couch next to Tim. He turns on the tv and starts searching for the movie.
“Don’t you have homework to do?” Tim asks, he doesn’t miss going to school. He had been planning to go back to school after he found Bruce, but now that he has a pup, he can’t imagine leaving Jacqueline for that long every weekday.
“Yeah, but I’ve got plenty of time to do it.” Conner waves away the idea, “I always have schoolwork to do, but I don’t always have time to hang with my best bud and his adorable pup.”
“You can always come visit me.” Tim leans against Conner.
“Yeah, but we’re both so busy. It’s nice having you around.” Conner smiles at him, “You want to come to the tower this weekend with me? I know the rest of the Titans are missing you.”
“I’ve missed them too.” Tim admits, “But I can’t go, I can’t leave Jacqueline here by herself.”
“You can bring her with us. The Titans have definitely been missing her too.” Conner gently reaches out and strokes the side of the pup’s face. Earning him a loud purr from both Tim and Jacqueline.
“I don’t want to stress her out, she just had a big move away from the manor.”
“She doesn’t seem to care.” Conner points out, then quickly adds, “If she starts getting upset, I can just quickly fly you both back here.”
“Well... I guess there’s no harm in going, just for a little bit.” Tim says, because he really can’t say no to Conner. Not that he wants to, it sounds like it would be fun. But he just can’t help shake the bad feeling he’s having about it.

Chapter Text

The Titan tower isn’t the same to visit when Tim isn’t there to be a vigilant. It feels even more welcoming somehow when he’s there just to say hi. Happiness swells inside Tim’s chest as he watches Jacqueline coo and purr in the arms of Cassie. The other Titans come up to scent and see his pup in Cassie’s arms.
“You’re such a cute puppy.” Bart nuzzles Jacqueline.
“She’s so sweet too.” Cassie purrs.
“Do you like monkeys?” Gar reaches towards Jacqueline in a monkey form as he sits on Cassie’s shoulder. Tim smiles at his friends.
Being here, Tim can almost pretend what it’d be like if he choose to stay here. To have the Titans be his pack, for him and his pup. Jacqueline doesn’t seem to really mind where she’s at, but Tim is sure that will change soon. They’d love having both Tim and Jaqueline, but as soon as the Titans get a call about a monster, they leave the omega and his pup alone in the tower. He knows that they would spend way too much time alone if they lived here.
“Guess it’s just you and me again.” Tim smiles down at Jacqueline who has already fallen asleep, “It’s usually just us lately, huh?”
Gently picking his pup up, he starts carrying her to his room. Then he hears a noise coming from behind him. Spinning around, Tim sees at least a dozen ninjas standing behind him. There’s a sinking feeling in his gut. Even if Tim didn’t have Jacqueline in his arms, in his condition, there’s no way that he would be able to take them all down.
“What do you want?” Tim hisses, tightening his grip around his pup.
Then Ra’s steps of the shadows, Tim figured that the man would be nearby, “Hello young detective. It’s been a long time since I have seen you.”
“What do you want?” Tim repeats louder, taking a small step backwards.
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Hand over the pup or we take her from you.” Ra’s reached his hand out towards them.
Tim knows what he’s planning on doing, Ra’s has already made it very clear what he wants from Tim, “You want me, Ra’s. Not her. Just take me.”
“I’m not dumb, Timothy. I know as soon as we’ve gotten far enough away from your pup, then you’ll try to escape.” Ra’s chuckles softly, “Shall I repeat myself?”
“If I hand her to you, will you promise that you won’t hurt her?” Tim’s voice is barely a whisper.
“As long as you do as I instruct you, then no harm will come upon your pup.” Ra’s promises. The older man is a lot of things, but he’s not a liar.
With his shaky hands, Tim hands Jacqueline over to Ra’s. His pup doesn’t even wake up as he hands her to the dangerous alpha. Tears threaten to spill down his face and his voice wavers as he asks, “What do you want me to do?”
“Wait for further instructions. I’ll keep this precious little pup safe, while you think about how much you miss her.” Ra’s steps backwards and the ninjas move in around him, “I’ll see you soon detective.”

Chapter Text

It’s almost an hour before the Titans come back to the tower. They find Tim curled up on the floor sobbing. He doesn’t know what to do. He wants to try to find and find his pup, but that’s too dangerous. It would put Jacqueline in danger. So he ends up doing nothing, just crying like a useless Omega.
“Timmy what happened?” Conner crouches down in front of the sobbing omega, “Where’s Jacqueline?”
“S-she’s.... Ra’s has her....” Tim chokes out between sobs.
“Ra’s took her?” Conner gasps, his expression turns horrified.
“Don’t worry, Tim, we’ll get her back.” Cassie growls out as she cracks her knuckles, letting off an angry alpha scent, “I’ll pound that creep into a pulp when I find him.”
“We can’t... we can’t look for him.” Tim tries to clean his face, but there’s still tears running down his cheeks, “R-Ra’s said that he’d only keep her safe if I do what he says.”
“Ok... ok...” Conner looks almost as panicked as Tim is, “Everything will be fine. We’ll... we’ll figure this out.”
“Just wait here. We’ll contact the Justice League. They’ll know what to do.” Cassie walks away before Tim can tell her not to, he’s afraid that Ra’s will get mad if the League gets involved.
Conner sits down on the ground next to Tim, he scents the top of Tim’s head, “Don’t worry, it’s going to be ok.”
“I really hope so.” Tim hiccups softly.

Batman shows up to the tower with the rest of the League behind him. His facial expression is blank, but his body language shows how mad he is. Tim wonders if some of that anger is directed at him, for being a bad omega. Only bad omegas lose their pups.
“Tim, what exactly did Ra’s tell you?” Bruce growls out, Tim flinches a bit at that.
Tim is still sitting on the floor with Conner, he wipes at his tears and says softly, “He said that he’ll contact me when he wants me to come to him. If I try to find him before that, he said that he’ll hurt Jacqueline.”
“Were you here by yourself?” Bruce turns his gaze onto Conner.
“It was only for a few hours. Tim can take care of himself.” Conner snips back, there’s a hint of growl when he talks.
“He’s injured, he can’t defend himself and a pup.” Bruce snaps, Tim is sure if he wasn’t wearing his scent blocker, the scent of angry protective alpha would be suffocating.
“Fighting isn’t going to help get the pup back.” Wonder Woman puts her hand on Bruce’s shoulder, he doesn’t say anything, but he does back down.
“We have to wait for Ra’s. There’s nothing else to do.” Tim stares down at his hands.
“We will be ready for him when he does.” Conner rubs Tim’s back and tries to give him a reassuring smile, but it doesn’t make him feel at all better.
What Ra’s wanted is starting to happen, Tim is feeling anxious being away from his pup for so long. He’d do anything to get her back, even what Ra’s wants from him. He really wished that Cassie hadn’t called for the League, it’ll be embarrassing if they find out what he might have to do to get Jacqueline back.

Chapter Text

It takes days for Ra’s to contact Tim. It stresses Tim out so much, he isn’t able to eat. Anything he tries to eat, he ends up puking back up. His heart is racing out of his chest in excitement when he finally gets a call from Ra’s.
“Hello, young detective.” Ra’s practically purrs into the phone.
“Where is Jacqueline?” Tim sobs softly, “Give me my pup back.”
“Calm down detective, you pup is fine.” Ra’s sounding a little annoyed, like talking about Jacqueline is the last thing he wants to do, “You are doing what I said, so she’s fine. How are you doing little Omega? You aren’t sounding too good.”
“You stole my pup, of course I’m not doing good.” Tim wipes at his eyes.
“If you continue to follow you instructions, then you’ll get her back.”
“What do you want me to do?” Tim sniffles.
“I’ll send you a location and I want you to meet me there alone.” Ra’s says then hangs up the phone.
A few minutes later, Tim gets a text message with coordinates of a secluded location. The location is right outside of Gotham in the woods. Not a great place for what Ra’s is most likely planning.... unless the plan is kill Tim... which it very well could be.
He takes one of the many cars from the manor’s garage and drives to the location. This could go really bad if Tim isn’t careful. Waiting for him at the location is Ra’s and at least a dozen of ninjas behind him. Scenting the air, Tim catches the scent of Jacqueline.
“Where is she?” Tim hisses, trying to keep himself from crying again. He needs to be focused, not crying, he’s going to get her back. He just needs to not panic.
“There will be time for that. First let’s discuss what you are going to do for me.” Ra’s smiles and takes a step forward, “You’re looking beautiful as ever detective.”
“You can skip the flattery. I already know what you want from me.” Tim looks away, trying to keep the flush from rising to his face.
“This is why I like you omega, always straight to the point with you.” Ra’s laughs, he reaches out and strokes Tim’s face. It takes everything in him not to flinch backwards. A low happy growl rumbles in Ra’s throat, “Let’s move somewhere-“ Ra’s is interrupted by the sudden the ninjas behind him where thrown forward, “What?”
“Do you really think that I am that dumb?” Tim hisses, smacks Ra’s hand away. Happiness swelling in chest when Tim sees Conner floating towards him holding his pup. Cassie, Bart and Dick are taking down the ninjas behind Ra’s, “This is my pup, I’m not dumb enough to come alone.”
“Mark my words, detective, you will regret this decision.” Ra’s snarks baring his teeth at him.
“I don’t think he will.” Bruce appears behind Tim, but it doesn’t surprise or scare him. It actually comforts Tim knowing that his alpha is standing beside him.
“This isn’t the end of this.” Ra’s growls, he throws a smoke bomb and disappears. They have three metas here and could follow him if they wanted to, but there’s really no point. Whatever they do to Ra’s, he’ll be back.
“Here you go pup, go back to your mom.” Conner hands Jacqueline over to Tim. After a quick look over and finding her completely fine, Tim starts scenting his pup. He’s purring like crazy, finally feeling better after days of nothing but stress. Jacqueline purrs just as much back. Probably feeling as stressed as he was being being with strangers for so long.

Chapter 30

Summary:

Apologies in advanced for this chapter

Chapter Text

Even if Tim tried, he wouldn’t be able to stop purring. He’s so happy to have his pup back. It’s the best feeling in the world to have Jacqueline back in his arms. After getting his pup back, Bruce convinced him to come back to the manor for a few days. Tim didn’t want to go back to the manor, but once Conner agreed to come to the manor as well, he decided it wouldn’t be too bad.
“It’s very good to see you both back here in good health.” Alfred greets him with a nuzzle when he comes back to the manor. Seeing the elder beta definitely makes the trip worth it.
“Good have my pup back.” Tim purrs and nuzzles Alfred back.
“We’ll make sure that you’re both safe here.” Alfred gives him a smile, “How about I make you something to eat?”
“I think we’re going out to eat?” Tim asks glancing over at Dick, who suggested that they go out to bat burger for dinner.
“We can stay in, if that’s what you want Tim. I know this has all been really stressful for you.” Dick comes over and joins in the nuzzling, trying to be included.
“I’m fine with going out. I don’t really care where I am as long as Jacqueline is with me.” Tim shrugs, looking down at the pup sleeping in his arms, “I don’t think Jacqueline will care either way.”
“I’ve never had bat burger.” Conner turns to Tim, “They don’t have a whole lot of chain restaurants in Smallvile.”
“Then we should go while you’re here.” Tim smiles up at the large alpha. Conner has done so much for him, he’d like to do something for him in return.
After a little bit, they all load up into two cars and start driving to the closest bat burger. Tim and Jacqueline get in a car with Jason and Dick. The scent of alpha is strong in the car, not that Tim really minds. Jason is putting off a strong scent, having the omega back is causing his instincts to work in over drive. The instinct to mark and protect must be hitting Jason pretty hard, but he’s doing a good job of not letting it control him.
“It’s nice to have you back in the manor.” Jason says from the passenger seat, ignoring the situation of his excessive scent, “I still think you should do whatever you think is best for the both of you, but I really like having you around.”
“I probably won’t stay that long, but it is nice being back.” Tim admits, he still doesn’t think staying in the manor is the best thing for him, but they’re still his pack. They’ll keep him safe until he’s healthy enough to protect himself.
“I know that we’ve put you through a lot, but no matter what you’re always welcome with us.” Dick says softly, it’s always strange see the beta when he’s serious.
“I appreciate it that, but I’m not a pup anymore. I need to branch out and get my own space. But you all will always be pack to me.” Tim continues to purr, because it’s nice to have pack with him again. Even if they aren’t good for him, they’re still pack and he’ll always love them.
“And if you need any help branching out, you know we’re here for you.” Jason responds with a deep alpha purr.
The future isn’t seeming so scary. Tim knows that his friends and family will help him no matter what. He still doesn’t really feel like pack and he’s not sure that he ever will completely, but it’s getting better. And no matter what, he will never be alone again, he will always have Jacqueline. She will always be his pack. He can do this. He will do everything in his power to be the best omega for his pup.
“Maybe after we get back, we can watch a movie?” Tim suggests, it would be nice to curl up on the couch with the family.
“Of course babybird.” Dick smiles, “I know the perfect movie, we should watc-“
He’s suddenly cut off by a car slamming into their car.
Ears ringing, head spinning, Tim carefully lifts his head. He’s in so much pain, but he’s disoriented, he can localize his pain. The car has been flipped onto its side. There’s a long metal pole piercing through the door and through Tim’s abdomen. The pole goes completely through him and continues deeper into the car. Turning his head, Tim follows the pole, the pole pierces through Jacquelines car seat. There’s blood all over the car seat. Jacqueline isn’t making a sound.

Chapter Text

There have been many funerals that Tim has attended. Both of his parents, Conner, Bart, Stephanie, Bruce and few other young heroes. He’s never liked funerals, but none of them hurt like this. Tim almost didn’t even show up because he knew that it’d be this painful, but he figured that it’d be disrespectful not to go. There are a lot of people that showed up. Most of the Titans, some people from work, even some of the Justice League. None of them come to talk to Tim. Bruce tells them that he’s not in the mood to talk and Tim is grateful for that.
Jacqueline’s casket is so tiny. Tim didn’t pick it out. Bruce handled the planning of the entire funeral, he’s been apart of too many funerals as well. They asked Tim if he wanted to say something before the burial, but Tim could barely get words out between his sobs. When they start burying his pup, Tim realizes just where they’re at. They’re burying her right next to his parents.
Tim moves over to Bruce and pulls on his sleeve, “B-B... w-why did you c-choose here?”
“What’s the matter, Timmy?” Bruce asks softly.
“I...I k-know I’m not p-pack, but wasn’t J-Jacqueline?” Tim manages between sobs.
“Oh baby bird, I thought you’d be happier with her buried next to your parents.” Bruce pulls Tim into a hug, “You both are pack and we can move her grave. Would you rather her buried near my parents?”
“Yeah.” Tim whimpers, “But... m-maybe we can do it.... later?”
“Later?” Bruce asks.
“I-I can’t... I can’t do another burial r-right now.” Tim shakes his head.
“Ok, when you’re ready we’ll dig up the casket and move her to a different cemetery.” Bruce gently runs his hand through Tim’s hair.
“N-no... Can’t she stay in the ca-cave? U-until I’m r-ready?” Tim hiccups, “I-I want her cl-closer to me.”
Bruce give him a concerned look, the nuzzles Tim, “Ok..... Yeah we can do anything you want.”

“Tim... are you sure you want to be up right now?” Dick asks when he sees Tim walking into the kitchen. It’s been a day since Jacqueline’s funeral, he’s spent most of his time staying in his room. The only reason Tim continued to stay in the manor is because of the remaining scent of his pup. But the scent of Jacqueline is slowly disappearing, so he’s not sure how much longer he’s going to stay.
“Am not allowed out of my room?" Tim hisses, shooting a glare at Dick. He knows that he shouldn’t be this short with everyone. But he’s in pain and wants to lash out.
“You know that’s not what I meant.” Dick says softly, “How are you doing?”
“Fantastic.” Tim rolls his teary eyes, “Why would I be anything less than great?”
“Ok, you don’t want to talk. That’s fine. But I’m here if you change your mind.” Dick reaches out but stops himself from touching Tim.
Jason walks into the kitchen behind them, “There’s someone here to see you. Don’t mad at me, I’m not the one who invited her.”
“Invited who?” Tim frowns, turning around to face Jason.
Moving so the door to kitchen opens wider, Jason reveals Lynx. There are so many questions running in his mind. Like who called her and how in the world did they even find her? Tim doesn’t even know her real name. But none of that matters right now, because the scent of his alpha hits him and all he can think is, ‘My alpha is here. She can help me.’ Tim rushes over to her and drops down in a submissive position.
“Alpha please. I messed up, please fix this.” Tim keens, tipping his head back exposing his neck to her. Everyone stares at him in shock, until Lynx finally speaks up.
“I... wasn’t expecting this response.” Lynx blinks down at him in surprise, “Especially since you’ve never submitted to me before.”
“P-please, I need this.” Tim whimpers, he really needs her help.
“As much as I’d like to help you out, I really don’t think it’s a good idea.” Lynx walks past Tim, it hurts being ignored like by his alpha.
“Come on, let’s get you up little bird.” Jason helps Tim to his feet.
“Why are you here?” Tim sniffles, turning to glare at Lynx.
“Our pup died, so I came to see if you were ok.” Lynx looks around the kitchen curiously, she knew that Red Robin was Tim Drake, but he doesn’t think that she realized how rich they are, “I had to find out about our pup after she died.”
“Because you left me and never called me.” Tim hisses, honestly he was pretty happy that she left before he woke up, it avoided an awkward situation. He liked Lynx, but he doesn’t think that she would be a good alpha for his pup. But right he’s emotional and lonely and wants to take his anger out on someone.
“Not like you gave me your number.” Lynx leans against the kitchen island, she apparently finished looking around, “Maybe we should talk in private?”
Tim whole face flushes and his anger disappears into embarrassment as he realizes that he just submitted to Lynx in front of Dick and Jason. He might as well spread his legs in front of everyone. Tim gives Jason ‘help me’ look, Jason grabs Dick’s arm, “Let’s give the love birds some space.”
Once Jason and Dick leave the room, Tim shifts his weight from one leg to the other and mumbles, “So... you really won’t give me another pup?”
“I didn’t really want to give you the first one. I thought you were on birth control.” Lynx gives him a small smile.
“I.... don’t usually do what we did.” Tim’s face flushes even harder.
“Yeah you don’t really seem like the type.” Lynx laughs, then after a second of silence, she goes serious, “You know having another baby won’t make you happy. Right now, you need to mourn. Take time to mourn and heal from your loss.”
Tim just nods, unsure of how to respond to her advice. It’s good, but it’s not really what he wants to hear.
“If you need someone to talk to, I’m not very good at this stuff. But I’m still your friend, so I’m here for you.” Lynx says and that’s probably the nicest thing that she’s ever said to him.
“.....you still haven’t told me your name.” Tim says softly.
“Next time we meet, I’ll tell you.” Lynx cups the side of Tim’s face and walks away, “You know where to find me.”
Tim really doesn’t know how to find her, but he’s sure she’ll contact him. He knows that’s she’s right, that he should focus on healing. Trying to deal with Jacqueline’s passing in a healthy manner. But Tim has never been one to do these things the heathy way. He has a better idea of what he should do.

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov

Bruce knows from personal experience how difficult it is to bury a child, but he’s never had to bury a pup this young before. He’s devastated at the loss of his only grandchild. He’s concerned with how well Tim has been taking this. It’s only been a few days since Jacqueline’s death and Tim is already out of his room and trying to work on cases again. Bruce has seen Tim grieve before, he usually either completely breaks down for days or he ignores his feelings and pretends that nothing happened. Right now, Tim seems to be doing the latter. Bruce is definitely not one to talk when it comes to dealing with death in a healthy way, but he’s afraid Tim will end up getting more hurt if he keeps this all bottled up.
Bruce’s first idea was to find Tim’s alpha, Lynx. She is a very difficult person to find, Bruce can barely find out any personal information about her. All he could find about Lynx is that she’s the head of the dragon gang. He wonders if even Tim knows anymore about her. Her visit goes well, Bruce was a little afraid that Tim would be mad about them prying into his personal life, but he didn’t seem to care. The visit didn’t seem to affect him at all, he just continues to try and work.
His next idea was to get Tim a pet. Tim has wanted one since he was Robin. Alfred immediately shut that idea down, telling him at pets can’t replace a baby.
He was running out of ideas, so tries to take Alfred’s advice, talking to Tim himself. Bruce finds his omegan son sitting at the bat computer with dozens of case files in front of him. This is more nerve racking that facing down any villains.
“What are you doing down here?” Bruce asks, trying to keep his awkwardness from showing. His whole body is tense, making him look stiff.
“Going through some old case files.” Tim shrugs without turning his gaze from the files.
Leaning against the desk, in an attempt at looking more relaxed, Bruce asks, “How are you doing?”
“Fine.” Tim says shortly, probably tired of people asking him this question.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“My pup is dead, what is there to talk about?” Tim says, his voice is lacking emotion, but his scent starts to become sad and upset.
“You shouldn’t keep these feelings inside, everyone is here to help you.” Bruce puts a hand on Tim’s shoulder, the omega tenses at the touch, so he quickly removes his hand, not wanting to upset Tim further.
Turning to face Bruce, Tim looks at him like how he looks at cases. Likes he’s trying to figure Bruce out. Then he says softly, “Maybe you’re right... it’s been a long day. I think that I should get some sleep, but maybe in the morning I will feel like talking.”
“Take your time, there’s no rush. But whenever you’re ready, I’m here for you.” Bruce gives him a small, happy that the conversation went so well.
“Goodnight.” Tim rubs up against Bruce and then heads out of the batcave.
In the morning, Tim is no where to be found. Bruce goes down to the batcave, there are files over the desk where Tim left them, but the little omega is no where to be found. Glancing over the files, something catches his eye. One of the files is the first case that Bruce wrote about Ra’s al Ghul. Looking closer, Bruce sees that all of the files have to do with either Ra’s or people that have come back to life. Realization hits and Bruce races over to where Jacqueline’s casket is being held in the back of the cave. Bruce opens the small casket and finds it empty.

Chapter Text

This is the worst idea that Tim has ever had in his whole life. The last time Tim met with Ra’s, the alpha had kidnapped Tim’s pup. Now Tim is going to the immortal alpha with his dead pup in his arms. He knows that Ra’s is going to love this, but he really doesn’t know that many people that can revive the dead. The cold little body in his arms causes tears to fill his eyes. It doesn’t matter what he has to do for Ra’s, Tim will get him back his baby.
“You’ll be back to me soon.” Tim promises, there’s a purr in the back of his throat that he can’t stop making. It’s not the normal happy sounding purr, it’s a soft, broken purr that his body is making in an attempt to soothe himself. It’s not really helping at all.
Ninjas move aside for Tim to enter the the building that is supposedly Ra’s main base. It didn’t take long to find this place, it’s one of the few of Ra’s bases that is actually known. If Ra’s is using it, that means that he wants Tim to find him. He must have already heard the news, expecting Tim to run to his side looking to help. Unfortunately, Tim has to give him the satisfaction of doing exactly that.
He finds Ra’s sitting on top of his throne, resting his head on hand like he’s bored of waiting for Tim. It irritates Tim so much on how cocky this alpha is, but he pushes his feelings down and sets his little bundle on the ground in front of Ra’s. Lifting his neck and submitting like a good omega, Tim says in a hiss, “You know why I’m here. Let’s not play these games and just cut to the chase. I’ll give you an heir if you give me back my pup.”
“Hmmm… I don’t know, young detective, I have already extended this offer to you and you rejected me twice.” Ra’s doesn’t even hide his smirk, he’s enjoying this.
“So it’s going to be like that?” Tim growls, lowering his head, “Do you want me to prove that I am willing to do it or are you going to keep toying with me until I give up?”
“Oh Timothy, this is your only pup, would you really give up on her that easily?” Ra’s shakes his head in fake sadness.
“I’ll rip out your throat if you don’t help me!” Tim snarls, he’s so tired of this. If Ra’s won’t help him willingly, then he will force him to help.
“As much as I’d love to see that, I know better than to mess with a feral omega.” Ra’s sighs and stands up off his throne. He moves closer to Tim and his pup, it puts Tim on edge.
“I-I’m not feral, just… desperate…” Tim admits softly.
“I can tell.” Ra’s huffs a laugh as he picks Jacqueline’s body up off of the ground, “Let’s see if we can’t get this deal finished before this place is swarming with bats.”
“I didn’t tell him I was coming.” Tim shakes his head.
“There’s not much you can keep from the detective. It won’t be long until he arrives.” Ra’s points out, walking away with Jacqueline, Tim follows closely behind him.
Tim cringes a bit, Ra’s is right and Bruce won’t allow this deal to happen. He won’t want happened to Jason happen to Jacqueline. But Tim is sure that it won’t be that bad this time, he’ll be there for her where Bruce wasn’t for Jason.
“Do… you think that the pit will affect Jacqueline badly?” Tim asks softly.
“Does it matter?” Ra’s arches his eyebrow at Tim.
“No… I want to… prepare myself…” Tim mumbles, this could really mess up Jacqueline’s mind, but that has to be better than being dead, right?
Ra’s leads him downstairs where the sickly green pit lies. The air smells like death and just wrong. Tim hates it here. He’s been to these more times than he’d like. Gently, Ra’s lowers Jacqueline’s body into the green liquid as he says, “I’ve never put a baby in the pit, I don’t know how it’ll affect her.”
“Wha-what?!” Tim gasps, he surges forward to try and stop Ra’s. Before he even gets close, Ra’s pulls Jacqueline’s body back out of the pit and the room is filled with crying.

Chapter Text

Bruce’s pov

It only takes a few minutes for Bruce to figure out exactly where Tim was headed. Ra’s wanted this is to happen, he’ll be waiting for Tim in a place that he knows Tim will be able to find. Bruce doesn’t know how long Tim has been gone, but he prays that he’ll be able to get to Tim before something terrible happens to the little omega.
Bruce doesn’t tell anyone in the pack, except for Dick. He needs Dick to keep the pack safe and in check while he’s gone. This could take a long time depending on Ra’s. There are more times that Bruce cares to count that Ra’s has sent him on month long goose chases. He keeps the information from the rest of the pack, if they knew that Tim is in trouble, then they all would want to come with and help, but it’s best for Bruce to do this alone. This sort of situations only get worse with pack around. Too many emotions and drama gets involved.
Looking through the case files that Tim was looking at, Bruce was able to find where Tim must have gone. Taking the batwing, Bruce flies to Ra’s place as fast as he can. Bruce loves having Jason back alive, but he also thinks that it probably would have been better for everyone if Jason hadn’t been put in the pit. Especially for Jason. He doesn’t think Jason will ever fully recover from the damage the pit caused.
After hours of fighting ninjas, Bruce finally gets through Ra’s base and down to where the pit is. Standing next to the green glowing pool is Ra’s, neither Tim or Jacqueline’s anywhere in sight. At this point Bruce should be exhausted, but the adrenaline of having the pack omega in danger is keeping him going.
“Where are they?” Bruce snarls, keeping in a fighting stance, ready to fully attack Ra’s if he has to.
“Timothy came here will-“ Ra’s starts, but Bruce cuts him off.
“Where are they?!”
Ra’s pulls out his saber, “Sorry Detective, but he’s busy at the moment.”
“I’ll beat you until you give them back to me.” Bruce grabs his batarangs and whips them at Ra’s. Easily using the saber, Ra’s knocks the batarangs away, but it distracts the immortal alpha long enough for Bruce to get in close and land a punch to Ra’s face.
Ra’s stumbles back for a moment, but quickly recovers. Readying his saber, Ra’s swings it at Bruce. Tensing up, Bruce gets ready to dodge the attack, when distressed omega scent floods the room. The scent distracts Bruce, causing him to get hit by the attack. It cuts through his bat suit and into his arm. It’s not too deep of a cut. Nothing that would kill him.
“Ra’s that enough.” Tim says walking up to them. He looks enough more wore out than when Bruce last saw him.
Ra’s backs away from Bruce, flinging the blood off his sword. He gives Bruce a satisfied smile, “It seems like we’re finished here, detective.”
“What did you-“ Bruce takes a step forward, baring his teeth, but Tim moves in between them.
“We should go.”
Looking down at the little omega in front of him, there are bags under Tim’s eyes and his cheeks are pink. There’s a bundle of blankets in his arms, Bruce knows that Jacqueline is in that bundle, but here isn’t the place to talk about that.
“All right.” Bruce says softly. He leads Tim out of the building, keeping his eye on Ra’s until they get into the batwing. As soon as they both get settled and Bruce gets the plane in auto pilot mode, he turns to Tim, “What happened?”
“Don’t be mad, Bruce.” Tim can’t even look at Bruce as he talks, “Please promise you won’t be mad.”
“I won’t be mad Tim, I’m just worried.” Bruce is struggling to keep the anger out of his voice. He’s not mad at Tim. He’s mad at Ra’s. He’s also mad at himself for not being fast enough to stop whatever happened.
“I know this was a terrible idea, but it was my choice to make and I don’t regret it.” Tim slowly pushes around the cloth in his arms and reveals Jacqueline. A very alive Jacqueline. She isn’t making any noises, just looking up at them like she’s trying to figure out what’s going on.
“Ra’s doesn’t things for free.” Bruce warns adding a little growl to his voice.
“I know... I’ve already made a deal with him.” Tim’s voice is barely a whisper.
“Tim....”
“It’s not what you think.” Tim starts, then shakes his head, “Ok, well it’s sort of what you think, it just didn’t happen the way you think.”
“What did Ra’s do?” Bruce feel a lump growing in his stomach.
Tim finally lifts his eyes to meet Bruce’s, they’re a little tear as he chokes out, “I’m pregnant.”

Chapter Text

There are so many feelings that Tim should be feeling right now. Scared, hurt, angry. But instead all Tim can feel is happiness as he stares down at his sleeping pup, now safe in his arms. Sitting in his empty room in the manor, Tim is left in the same situation he was in before. Confused on where to do from here. Things are only more confusing now that it was last time he was here.
There’s a knock at his door, looking over Tim sees Tam standing in his doorway, “Hey Tim, how are you feeling?”
“Tam, what are you doing here?” Tim blinks at her, he hasn’t seen her since the funeral.
“We are all worried about you. What were you thinking going to Ra’s? Did you forget how many times he’s tried to kill you?” Tam narrows her eyes at him, walking farther into the room.
“I know that Ra’s is dangerous, but I don’t care. Nothing matters except for Jacqueline. I’d do anything for her.” Tim says gently nuzzling his sleeping pup.
“Tim, do you really think that this is for her? I think you did this for yourself. Do you even know what kind of affects the pit will have in her?” Tam sits down on the bed next to him.
Jacqueline doesn’t seem that different than she was before. Just a little quieter. Tim would have expected her to be really fussy and upset all the time, but instead she seems calmer.
“She doesn’t seem to be having any kind of affects right now.” Tim says with a frown, how can she say this was for him? Obviously he’s doing all of this for his pup.
“She’s just a baby, who knows how this will affect her development.” Tam shakes her head, “And what if Ra’s comes to take her back later? He’s crazy, you never know what he’s going to do.”
“He won’t come after Jacqueline. He has no use for her.” Tim explains, “I’ve already paid him, once I give him what he wants he’ll leave us alone.”
“And what is it that he wants?” Tam asks.
“.....an heir.” Tim breathes out, he doesn’t know if he should tell her this, but it’s not like he can keep this a secret for very long.
“An heir?!? What?!” Tam gasps and then when it fully hits her what he meant, she lets out a growl that’s pretty impressive for a beta, “That better not mean what I think it does.”
“I’m going to have Ra’s child.”
Tam has a pained look on her face and she shakes her head, “What will you do when Ra’s comes to collect this pup?”
“Give it to him I guess.” Tim shrugs, he really doesn’t want to think about that.
“You’d trade one pup for the other.” Tam arches an eyebrow at him, because she knows that he isn’t like that.
“It’s Ra’s pup too, the pup would just go live with their sire.” Tim tries, but he knows that he won’t be able to justify this later. Once he can feel the pup growing inside him, there’s no way he’ll be able to leave his pup. He becomes too attached too quickly.
“This is such a bad idea.” Tam sighs, “You’re not going to give up your new pup and will end up losing both.”
“I won’t let that happen.” Tim lets out a small hiss, this conversation is starting to make him upset. He doesn’t want to think about that, he wants to live in the moment and enjoy the fact that he got Jacqueline back.
“Ok ok. So are you going to move back into the manor with your pack?” Tam asks.
“I don’t know. I don’t know if I want to, but I don’t know where else I could go.” Tim shrugs as he admits, “I feel so confused.”
“Weren’t you staying with your friend, Conner?”
“I was but... I really didn’t want. I don’t want to rely that much on others. Especially not people that have their own packs.” Tim says, he likes being around Conner, but he didn’t feel like an outsider in Conner’s home.
“Why don’t you just stay in your apartment?”
“I’m just afraid that I won’t be able to take care of myself.” Tim says softly, he has never felt this weak as he has over the last few months.
“I can stay with you and help you, until you feel well enough to take care of yourself.” Tam offers.
Tim can’t help the smile that appears in his face, “Really? You’d do that for me?”
“Of course, you’re my boss. I have to make sure that you stay healthy.” Tam smiles and leans against him, the turns to look down at Jacqueline, “Plus I am Jacqueline’s aunt. I gotta make sure that she’s safe as well.”

Chapter Text

Moving to his apartment isn’t as difficult as Tim expects it to be, with how much his stuff is spread out. Both members of the Titans and the Bat family help him get all of his stuff into his apartment. It’s a little uncomfortable as the bring him his stuff, Tim knows that most of his friends and family don’t agree with his choice of bringing Jacqueline back to life. He understands. If he wasn’t the one in the situation, Tim would think that it was a bad idea too.
He’s starting to think that it was a bad idea as well. There are some symptoms of the pit that Tim are starting to recognize in his pup that concern him. She doesn’t respond to things like she used to. More like she barely responds at all at this point. If there is a loud noise, she doesn’t even blink. She doesn’t really cry anymore. It’s hard to tell if she’s hungry or needs to be changed. He hasn’t told anyone about how she’s been acting lately. It will just cause them to question his decision even more.
Sitting in his apartment, Tim sits in silence watching his pup sleep. She’s so cute when she sleeps. Tim could watch her for hours. Without having to go to W.E or do case files, that’s pretty much how Tim sends his days. Lack of things to do and everything that Tim has been going through has making Tim’s depression worse. The only reason he gets out of bed is to take care of Jacqueline. He wants to get start drowning himself in work again, to distract himself from his feelings, but everyone else thinks that he needs a break. He’s tired of everyone around him telling him what to do and how to take care of himself. Distracting himself with work is how Tim is able to make it through the day, he doesn’t know what to do with himself when he’s not working.
So he tries to distract himself with omega things. Mostly with nesting. He’s been nesting like crazy lately. He’s not sure if it’s the pregnancy or the boredom, but his instincts have been going crazy about nesting. In the middle of the night, Tim will wake up to the urge to nest. He’s unable to go back to sleep until he’s either made a nest in his bed or he reorganizes the entire living room.
“Why is everything in a different spot than it was this morning?” Tam asks after she gets back from the office. Usually Tim doesn’t move things around too much, but that morning Tim was feeling especially restless and changed up everything twice in the living room.
“I thought that it would look better this way.” Tim mumbles not looking at her, he’s embarrassed that he’s been giving into his instincts lately.
“Are you nesting?” Tam frowns, noticing the huge pile of clothes and blankets on his bed.
“….maybe… a little bit…” Tim feels his face heat up.
“That’s completely normal, Tim. With all the pregnancy hormones you must be having.” Tam gives him a sympathetic look.
That’s the thing, Tim doesn’t really think it’s the pregnancy. The hormones haven’t been really affecting, he hasn’t been pregnant long enough yet for them to. It concerns him. That things will only get worse the longer he’s pregnant. But this time he has a pup around. That will help him focus his instincts towards her if he is going to deal with this bad of instincts.
“Yeah I guess.” Tim shrugs and walks into his room to go see Jacqueline. He starts purring just seeing her. Whenever things go bad, Tim gets in a better mood when he sees his pup. When he’s around her, nothing else seems to matter.

Bruce’s pov

Things with Tim has been even more strained lately. Every time Bruce calls him, Tim is very short with him and the calls barely last a minute. Bruce has tried to visit Tim and Jacqueline, but Tim keeps blowing him off saying that he’s busy. He’s thought about just stopping by Tim’s apartment, since he knows where the apartment is. But Bruce knows that will just cause a fight, he needs to respect Tim’s boundaries.
He thinks that Tim just needs time alone from the pack, so Bruce is surprised to see Tim at the W.E. office. The little omega look tired and he doesn’t have Jacqueline with him. Walking over to Tim, who is sitting at Bruce’s desk, Bruce clears his throat to get Tim’s attention.
“Oh hey B, what’s up?” Tim asks, like it’s completely normal for him to be here in the office at Bruce’s desk.
“I’m just here to work… in my office. What are you doing here? I thought you were working from home.” Bruce asks, moving closer to Tim.
“I’m just here to pick up some stuff….” Tim trails off, then shakes his head, “I won’t be long, I’ll get out of your office soon.”
“Take as much time as you need.” Bruce says, he’s happy to see his son, “Where is Jacqueline?”
“Tam has her, the receptionist are adoring her.” Tim explains and starts shifting through the files.
“How are you and Jacqueline doing?” Bruce asks, he wants to know more about Tim and his pup, but he also doesn’t want Tim to feel like he’s prying.
“We’re both doing good. I think… I might try doing more work for W.E. From home, but I can do paperwork and remote meetings.” Tim says, then rubs his tired eyes.
“You shouldn’t push yourself, baby bird. You look like you haven’t been sleeping much.” Bruce reaches out and gently ruffles Tim’s hair.
“Not working isn’t helping me get rest.” Tim let’s out a yawn.
“Have you been eating right?” Bruce asks the protective alpha in his coming out.
“Tam’s been making me eat.” Tim leans into Bruce’s touch.
“Would you like to get some lunch with me?” Bruce asks, hoping that won’t scare Tim away.
“Mmmmm, I guess that’d be ok.” Tim shrugs, “It’s been a bit since me and Jacqueline have been out to eat.”
“We can go where ever you want to eat.” Bruce says.
“I want some bubble tea.” Tim gives him a small smile.
“Of course.” Bruce chuckles softly.
They work together in silence for a few hours until Tim finishes whatever he’s doing. Together they walk down to the first floor where Tam is with Jacqueline. She is surrounded by the receptions cooing over Jacqueline.
“Ah, Tim and Mr. Wayne. You finished what you were doing?” Tam asks, her face turning relieved when she sees them.
“Yep, I’m finished. We’re going out to lunch, you want to come with us?” Tim asks taking Jacqueline from Tam, he starts purring loudly.
“No, I haven’t been able to get anything done since I got here.” Tam says, she gives Tim a quick nuzzle then starts heading upstairs, “Take care of yourself, I’ll see you later.”
“See ya, Tam.”
There aren’t a lot of places in Gotham City to get boba tea. It’s not a very popular trend in the city. But there’s a tai food place in the middle of the city that Tim absolutely loves. Mostly for their tea, but he likes their food as well. It’s nice because it’s close enough to W.E. that they can walk to it. Bruce and Tim used to walk to it a lot together back when Tim was Robin. Just the smell of tai food always bring back those memories. Sometimes Bruce wishes he could back to those times, even life was crazy in Gotham, things were the best between him and Tim.
The little store is really crowded. It is close to lunch, so it makes sense. Bruce curses himself for not thinking about that.
“Do you want to just grab the food and leave?” Tim asks, it’s hard to hear him over the people around them.
“Yeah, we can go it at in my office.” Bruce says.
“Ok.” Tim nods and turns away.
It takes almost twenty minutes for them to order and get their food. Bruce doesn’t mind the wait, he’s glad that’s he’s able to spent time with his son and his grand daughter. Just in that twenty minutes, Bruce has been able to see the difference in Jacqueline’s demeanor. She’s always been a laid back baby, but this is different. She’s almost none responsive now. It’s definitely a side effect from the pit. He wonders if this is one of the reasons Tim has been avoiding him.
On the walk back to W.E., it starts off in silence. Bruce isn’t sure what to talk about. If they should talk about what happened or pretend that it didn’t happen. When they’re about halfway back, Bruce decides to break the silence.
“Tim… I think that we should have a talk….”
“About what?” Tim asks back innocently.
“About what happened with Jacqueline and with Ra’s.” Bruce says, he quickly adds, “It doesn’t have to be with me… but I think that you should talk to someone about what happened.”
Tim slows to a stop and frowns. Silently, Bruce hopes that he didn’t just ruin everything, he just wants Tim to be ok. After a few seconds Tim opens his mouth to respond, but he’s cut off by a car stopping next to them. Three people wearing masks get out of the car and point guns at Bruce and Tim.

Bruce’s pov

Getting kidnapped is an average day for Bruce and Tim. Being rich, apart of W.E and vigilantes being kidnapped usually happens every other week for them. The difference between this time and all of those other times is that Tim is pregnant and he has Jacqueline with him.
The stress is coming off Tim in thick waves. It fills the small with the suffocating smell of stressed omega. It’s something that Bruce hates and he hates that he’s gotten to familiar with that smell. Having an omega son means that he’s going to be around the smell of stressed omega, but being a hero means that Bruce is around a lot of stressed omegas all of the time.
Bruce’s hands are tied behind his back, which he can easily get out of, but he can’t risk their captures hurting Tim or Jacqueline. The captures didn’t even bother tying up Tim’s hands. They probably figured it’d be better to have Tim hold onto the pup, rather than risking the omega going feral on them. No one wants a feral omega on their hands.
“It’s going to be ok.” Bruce whispers to Tim, he’s trying to put out a calm scent. If he’s calm, then hopefully Tim will calm down a bit.
“You both will get out of here safely as long as we get the money.” One of the captures says, it was obvious that they were new to this. They smell almost as stressed as Tim does.
Bruce almost feels bad that he’s already contacted Nightwing and he’ll be here soon to ruin their night. He would feel bad, if Tim wasn’t this stressed out by them. There’s no need for how stressed Tim is getting. Bruce wishes that he could get closer to Tim, that might help Tim calm down, “See, everything is going to be ok. Everyone just needs to stay calm.”
Shaking his head, Tim replies with a soft whine. Jacqueline is giving off an upset scent, but she barely even whimpers. But the smell of both of their stress is causing the captures to get antsy. It’s not a good sign.
“What’s taking so long for the company to get a response?” One of the captures whispers to the other, there’s really no point in whispering though, the room is so small that they can hear everything they say.
“What if they’re trying to set us up? They’re probably calling the cops!” The taller one hisses before he starts pacing.
“It hasn’t been very long, they probably don’t know if this is a real threat or not.” Bruce says calmly, keeping his gaze on Tim, so he misses one of the captures moving closer.
Both Tim and Bruce startle when a hand grabs onto Tim’s hair. The taller capture has moved closer, he’s now holding a gun to Tim’s head, “Maybe we need to make it obvious to them that this is a threat.”
“Wait-“ Bruce starts, trying to quickly slip out of his ties, cursing himself for not getting out of these earlier.
Before Bruce can move there’s crash in the other room. Everyone tenses up, after a moment of silence one of the capture walks towards the door, “Did you here-“
Suddenly the door burst open, the capture close to the door gets knocked backwards. Nightwing finally arrived. The capture with the gun turns to sim his weapon at Dick, his mistake. Once the weapon is off of Tim, Nightwing quickly takes the capture down. The final capture takes off without a word.
“Are you ok?” Dick cuts Bruce’s ties.
“I’m fine, I’ll take care of Tim.” Bruce says and moves over to Tim.
Dick nods and chases after the final capture. Bruce gently nuzzles Tim’s head, “You ok pup?”
“….fine..” Tim whispers softly.
“Let’s get you up.” Bruce helps Tim slowly rise to his feet. When Tim is up, he wobbles a bit. Bruce wraps an arm around Tim to stable him, he knows better than to ask to hold Jacqueline for him. Gently, Bruce tries to support Tim without taking Tim’s pup.
They start moving towards the door. Halfway to the door, Bruce notices that Tim is bleeding. There’s blood staining Tim’s dress pants.

Chapter Text

Sometime Tim wonders if the world is against him. Every time he tries to be happy, everything always turns into a mess. Or maybe it’s his fault, not the world. Tim’s fault for not being good enough. Tim’s fault for not being a good omega. If he was a better omega none of this would have happened in the first place. Because what kind of omega allows two of their pups to die?
Tim curls around Jacqueline in the hospital bed. He needs to do better, he needs to not let Jacqueline get hurt again. He might have failed several times, but this time, he will keep Jacqueline safe. He has to.
There are other people in room talking, he’s not really sure who’s in the room, or what they’re talking about. He doesn’t really care to figure out, he doesn’t want to talk to anyone. He doesn’t want to do anything, but lay here with his pup in his arms. If he could spend the rest of his life with Jacqueline in his arms he would. He’d never move from this spot. That’s all Tim wants to do.
The bed sinks under the pressure of someone sitting next to him. Tim doesn’t make any effort to see who it is. They’re talking, Tim doesn’t listen. He just focuses on Jacqueline’s scent. She’s giving off a happy content smell. It calms Tim.
The person sitting on the bed suddenly lets out a low purring sound. It catches Tim’s attention. He lets out a soft purr in response. Turning his head, Tim sees that it’s Conner sitting next to him. He gives Tim a soft smile when he notices that Tim is looking at him.
“Hey buddy. I heard that purring can make people that are upset feel better.” Conner says softly, gently patting Tim’s arm.
Frowning, Tim finally looks around to see that the hospital room is empty, he knows that it wasn’t a minute ago, “Where did everyone go?”
“They left to give you some space. Honestly most of them really need to get rest. Dick doesn’t look like he’s slept in days.” Conner shakes his head, “They all seem like they haven’t slept. I decided to come give you some company.”
“I have company.” Tim says, burring his nose in his pup’s hair.
“I know.. I know, but… with everything… I think you could use some help, in case you need someone to defend you.” Conner says awkwardly, it’s obvious that he’s trying not to say the wrong thing.
Tim’s stomach flips as he realizes that losing his unborn child isn’t just his problem. Even though he’s been in the hospital for several hours, but this is the first time he thought about what Ra’s will do. Even if Ra’s doesn’t know yet, he’ll easily find out soon. Tim has no idea what Ra’s will do when he finds out, he’s really afraid of what he’ll do.
“Thank you…” Tim curls further around his pup, “Please… don’t leave us.”

Bruce’s pov

Bruce is a terrible person. When he found out that Tim had a miscarriage, Bruce was relieved. Of course Bruce didn’t want this to happen, but Tim having Ra’s child was going to be too difficult and make things too complicated. Ra’s would have taken away the pup if not as soon as it was born, not long after. Then Tim would have had to live with the fact that he gave his pup up to become a weapon. If the pup is gone, then maybe Ra’s will let it go. It was better for the pup to be dead.
That’s what Bruce thought, until he saw Tim.
Tim is curled up on the hospital, barley responding. The only one he’s talked to since coming to hospital has been Conner. The young alpha has barely left Tim’s side. With Conner’s meta powers he doesn’t have to get sleep or eat, so he doesn’t have to leave. It’s been helping Tim a lot.
The rest of the pack has been trying to help out as well, but Tim has really only been responding to Conner. Dick is upset because he isn’t the one making Tim feel better, but Bruce is just happy that Tim is responding to anyone. Bruce isn’t good at the emotional stuff anyways, he knows a better way to help Tim out.
He calls the number he wishes that he didn’t have to. Ra’s.
“Detective, what do I owe the pleasure of this phone call?” The immortal alpha asks.
“You know why I’m calling. I’m sure you’ve already heard what happened.” Bruce says, trying to keep his voice as calm as he can.
“You mean about Tim and Ra’s pup? How it died?” Ra’s asks sounding oddly amused, “Don’t worry, I’ll give him another pup soon.”
“No you won’t. You will stay away from Tim and Jacqueline.” Bruce growls a warning.
“Oh? Are you trying to threaten me?” Ra’s chuckles softly.
“I am threatening you. Stay away from my pack, or you will regret it.” Bruce snarls darkly. He isn’t afraid of Ra’s himself, but the alpha does have a lot of power. It’ll be difficult to keep both Tim and his pup safe.
“Be careful, Tim’s pup might be in another accident.”
Bruce feels anger rise in his chest, “I figured you had something to do with that.”
“You’d be surprised how easy it is for a pup to get into an accident.” Ra’s voice goes darker, “Chose your next move carefully.”
After saying that, Ra’s hangs up. Bruce curses under his breath, this is going to be difficult. He’s going to have to do something big to get Ra’s to back off.

Chapter Text

There’s no reason for Tim to be as sad as he is, at least that’s what he keeps trying to convince himself. The pup wasn’t even going to be his, it was going to be Ra’s. He still has Jacqueline and that’s all that should matter. At least that what he thinks should matter… but…. Tim can’t shake the pain in his chest.
The pack is trying to keep Tim company and trying to make him feel better, but it’s making him feel worse. It’s better for Tim to move past this and go back to his normal life. This is why he sneaks out if the hospital without telling anyone, he managed to even sneak away from Conner. He appreciates how much the meta has been doing for him, but Tim doesn’t want to rely on anyone, he wants to be left alone.
Tim texts Conner after getting back to his apartment, to keep him and the others not from freaking about him disappearing.
It’s quiet for about an hour. No calls or texts from anyone. It was starting to concern Tim, he was waiting fir the sudden ambush of texts and calls. Except it doesn’t happen. Instead, Tim gets a knock at his door. Gently, Tim repositions the sleeping pup in his arms and gets up to the door.
It’s Dick and Bruce.
He should have figure that it’d be at least one of them. Secretly, Tim was hoping that it was Conner coming to see him. It’s kind of disappointing to see Dick and Bruce instead.
“Hey… what’s up?” Tim asks stepping aside the let them inside.
“Oh just coming to see my omega brother that was in the hospital and then just left without telling anyone.” Dick says in his fake causal tone of voice. It was clear how annoyed he is.
“I texted Conner.” Tim points out.
“Cause that’s the same as telling a packmate.” Dick scoffs.
“We’re not pack.” Tim growls softly.
“You will always be pack even if you don’t live with us anymore.” Bruce says, both of their expressions turn to hurt and it makes Tim feel a little guilty.
“Well I’m doing fine, so you guys don’t have to worry.” Tim mumbles, unsure of what to say. Before anyone can say anything, Tim’s phone goes off. They all glacé over at it from where it’s sitting on the coffee table. The call is from Ra’s.
Tim had texted him earlier, he needs to figure what they’re doing from here.
“Don’t pick that up.” Bruce growls a warning.
“Why? I’ve been trying to contact him.” Tim frowns, Ra’s is a villain, but Tim can take care of himself. He’s not afraid of Ra’s.
“Why are you trying to contact Ra’s?” Dick growls softly his scent turns to angry and protective.
“I made a deal with him.” Tim hisses, suddenly feeling very defensive.
“And the deal is over, you’ve already done what he asked. It’s not your fault that happened.” Bruce says, letting out a calming scent, trying to defuse the situation.
“Jacqueline is still alive, but Ra’s didn’t get his heir. I didn’t finish my end of the deal.” Tim explains, he doesn’t want to complete this deal, but he knows that Ra’s will come after his pup if he doesn’t.
“Tim….” Dick starts, then cuts himself off, glancing over to Bruce.
“Tim, you don’t owe Ra’s anything.” Bruce says still in a calm even tone.
“What are you talking about?” Tim narrows his eyes in suspicious at the beta and alpha.
“Ra’s is the reason that Jacqueline was killed in the first place.”

Chapter Text

Tim was seeing red as he storms out of his apartment. He is going to find Ra’s. The immortal alpha will pay for what he’s done. The situation around Jacqueline’s death was too convenient and Tim should have questioned it at the time. How well it all worked out for Ra’s. But at the time grief clouded Tim’s judgement.
“Tim, you need to wait.” Dick places his hand on Tim’s shoulder, but Tim quickly shrugs it off.
“Wait?! How can I sit around and wait?!” Tim snarls at the beta, “You want to wait around for Ra’s to kill Jacqueline again?!”
“If you go after Ra’s he’ll kill you.” Dick hisses grabbing Tim’s arm, stopping him in his tracks.
“I have won against Ra’s before.” Tim points out.
“Right now, you’re distracted. It wouldn’t be a fair fight.” Bruce says gently, moving in front of Tim, “You need to focus on keeping yourself and Jacqueline safe. I’ll handle Ra’s.”
“But I can-“ Tim starts, but is cut off by Dick.
“Jacqueline needs you now. Just stay away from Ra’s for us, ok?” Dick nuzzles the top of Tim’s head.
“Ok.” Tim mumbles softly.
“Stay here with Dick, until I figure out what the next.” Bruce orders and Tim nods and agrees like a good little omega. But as Tim follows Dick back into his apartment, he starts planning on how he’s going to sneak out.
“So you want to watch some tv or Netflix?” Dick asks closing the door behind them.
“I’m actually really tired.” Tim let’s out a small yawn, “I think I’m going to lie down for a bit.”
“This whole thing has been so stressful for you.” Dick gives him a sympathetic look, “You want me to watch Jacqueline for you?”
“Would you? I would really appreciate it.” Tim hands his pup for to the older vigilante, he rubs up against Dick affectionately. Anyone else would have question why Tim is being so friendly. But Dick is the worst detective in the family. So he gives Tim a huge smile, thinking that Tim is just being genuinely appreciative. Tim feels a little guilty for doing that, but he’ll probably make it up to him later. So he doesn’t let himself feel too guiltily as he sneaks out the window in his bedroom.

Chapter Text

Bruce’s POV

Ra’s al Ghul has always meddled in Bruce’s life. Bringing back Jason. He manipulates Bruce and Talia’s relationship. Ra’s is the reason that Damian even exists, manipulating Talia into drugging Bruce to gain a heir.
For the most part, Bruce usually doesn’t mess with Ra’s unless he’s trying to end the world. But what he’s doing to Tim is taking it too far. It’s one thing to mess with Bruce’s life, it’s another when Ra’s messes with Bruce’s only omegan son. But Bruce is tired of the immortal alpha messing with his pack. Tim might not think of himself as pack, but he will always be pack to Bruce. He’s sure the rest of the pack would agree with him, even Damian and Jason.
This time, Bruce doesn’t meet up with Ra’s at one of his hideouts. This will most likely end in a fight and Bruce doesn’t want to fight Ra’s and all of his henchmen in a place where Ra’s has the advantage. Instead, Bruce is able to convince Ra’s to meet him at one of Bruce’s safe houses. The only way he was able to get Ra’s there, because Bruce said he’d bring Tim with him. Ra’s probably thinks that he can get Tim on his side, which unfortunately is most likely true. Even though Tim is really angry, he’s easily swayed, especially with him being this emotional right now.
The immortal alpha is waiting for Bruce at the safe house. There are only a few ninja standing behind him. Ra’s narrows his eyes when he sees Bruce enter the house alone, with no sign of Tim, “Detective, I see that you’ve come alone.”
“Tim doesn’t need to see what I am about to do to you.” Bruce growls out the warning.
“Really Detective, there is no reason for this hostility.” Ra’s sigh, sounding quite annoyed, “This arrangement is beneficial for both of us. I gain a new heir and I will let you keep my traitorous grandson.”
“Both Tim and Damian are my pack. They made their choice to join me. You will leave my pack alone.” Bruce lifts his lips in a snarl.
Ra’s pulls out his sword, “If you came here for a fight, then I’ll gladly give you a fight.”
Bruce doesn’t need to be told twice, he immediately lunges for Ra’s. All the anger that Bruce has been holding in since he first heard about Ra’s with Tim, is put into the Bruce that lands to Ra’s face. It’s feels so satisfying and Bruce wishes that he did this way earlier.
The immortal alpha, takes the punch and quickly recovers. He swings the saber towards Bruce, Bruce blocks the blows with batarangs in his hands. The fight is pretty balanced, none of the ninjas have stepped in. None of them have been told to move by Ra’s. Perfect puppets. They wouldn’t usually concern him, but Bruce knows as soon as he’s either exhausted himself or beaten Ra’s then they’ll be ordered to finish him off. Bruce isn’t into too concerned though, he’s come out of worse situations.
A lucky blow knocks one of batarangs out Bruce’s hand. It shouldn’t matter. But it throws Bruce off enough for Ra’s to get the upper hand. The saber easily cuts through the Bat suit. Soon Bruce has deep gashes across Bruce’s thighs, arms and chest. The next blow that hits Bruce, causes him to fall to his knees. Ra’s raises the sword, Bruce raises one of the batarang to block it, but he doesn’t have to.
The batarang the was knocked out of Bruce’s hand is thrown into Ra’s hand. Bruce turns his head and lets out a small frustrated growl when he sees who walks into the safe house. Timothy walks into the safe house.
“What are you doing here?” Bruce growls, moving in front of the little omega.
Tim pushes past Bruce, ignoring the protective alpha. A low growls comes out of the small omega, “Ra’s, did you think that I wouldn’t find out?”
“I have t got the slightest clue what you’re talking about, young detective.” Ra’s says as he uses a cloth one of his ninjas handed him to clean the blood off his saber.
“You killed my pup.” Tim snarls, Bruce has never heard him sound so angry, “I will make you pay.”

Chapter 44

Summary:

I forgot to post Sunday and Mondays I don’t have time to edit, so here’s the chapter today

Chapter Text

There was a point in Tim’s life when he didn’t think that Ra’s was that bad of a person. Sure he wanted to rule the world, but what villain doesn’t? For the most part Ra’s kept to himself, only coming out to take over the world every now and then. He never did anything that Tim thought was that bad. The more time he spent with Ra’s the more that he could understand some of Ra’s ideas. The way that the immortal alpha explains how he wants to make the world a better place, Tim can’t help but find himself wanting to help him. A perfect world sounded so nice, especially where Tim was in his life.
Working with Ra’s, it didn’t take Tim very long to see how twisted the alpha’s ideal world is. But he never thought that Ra’s would ever do something like arrange for Tim’s pup to be killed. He always thought of Ra’s as a respectable person, he never thought that he’d stoop this low.
All the betrayal and anger are practically radiating off of Tim as he faces Ra’s. He can feel Bruce tense up behind him, but Ra’s looks completely unfazed. The alpha looks down at Tim like one does a pup that’s acting up. It pisses Tim off even more, Ra’s doesn’t even look at Tim as a threat. Showing his teeth at Ra’s, Tim is going to make him see Tim as a threat.
“Tim, go back home.” Bruce puts a hand on Tim’s shoulder, Tim turns to glare at the other alpha. He doesn’t think Tim can take care of himself either.
“No, I’m an adult, you don’t get to tell me what to do.” Tim hisses.
“Listen to your alpha, young detective, otherwise you will get hurt.” Ra’s gives a soft growl in warning.
“You are the one that will get hurt.” Tim pulls out his bow staff and lurches forward out of Bruce’s grasp.
Ra’s raises his sword, ready for Tim’s attack. The immortal alpha is already tired and hurt from his fight with Bruce, but his reflexes are still sharp. He’s able to counter every one of Tim’s attacks without much effort. It’s been a bit since Tim has been in a real fight, he’s gotten rusty. Letting out a hiss of frustration as Ra’s blocks Tim’s staff again, Tim thinks of a plan.
Never in Tim’s career of Robin has he been the best fighter. Being an omega, he’s always been short and has a hard time building muscle. So he’s always had to figure out other ways to take down his enemy. Using his brain and not physical strength.
Thinking fast, Tim starts making his moves more erratic and letting out growls of frustration. Ra’s looks amused down at Tim as he continues to easily block Tim’s attack, “Getting frustrated little omega?”
He thinks that Tim is letting his emotions affect his fighting. Which Tim wants to, it feels good to put all his anger into his swings, but it’s not an effective way to fight. The messy attacks are easy to predict, Ra’s catches Tim’s staff mid-swing, ready to end the fight. He pulls Tim in close, which Tim is ready for, he lets himself get pulled in close. Ra’s grabs Tim’s arm that is holding the staff, he gives out a dark purr, “I have a better way to help with your frustrations young detective.”
Bruce growls darkly behind them, but Tim presses up closer to Ra’s, “Oh really? I have a idea of what to do as well, though I think my way is funner than yours.” Tim purrs as he stabs a batarang into Ra’s stomach with his free hand.
Ra’s let’s out a strangled noise as Tim pulls out the batarang and stabs it back in further inside. It’s such a satisfying feeling. So Tim does it again. And again. He doesn’t get to do it again before all the of Ra’s ninjas are on him. Bruce pulls Tim back, moving him before any of the attacks land.
Cape spread out in front of Tim protectively, Bruce growls out, “Call them off Ra’s.”
The batarang caused a lot of internal damage and Ra’s knows this, he glares at Tim and he applies pressure to his stab wounds. Ra’s could stay and bleed to death and still be fine. It only takes a quick dip in the Lazarus pit to heal all his wounds. But there’s a lot of risks with the pit, especially when it comes to pit madness. Ra’s doesn’t like using the pit if he can avoid it. Narrowing his eyes, Ra’s raises his free hand to motion to the ninjas to stop, “This isn’t over detective.”
“This is over.” Tim snarls from behind Bruce, “You won’t mess with me anymore, alright? Otherwise I will end you. You won’t walk away from our next encounter.”

Chapter Text

On the car right back, Bruce is completely silent. At this point, Tim is used to Bruce being quiet during car rides. It’s the angry alpha scent radiating off of the alpha that isn’t normal. It’s the only reason Tim knows that Bruce is upset, everything else about Bruce is completely normal. Usually Bruce wouldn’t allow his scent to get this string, but he clearly wants Tim to start talking about this first. Tim doesn’t give in, he stays just as silent as the alpha. If Bruce has a problem, then he’ll have to say something first.
They get all the way back to Tim’s apartment without either one of them saying a single word. Tim leaves the car without even glancing back at Bruce. Honestly, Tim is just as irritated as Bruce is. The angry alpha smell is getting stronger as Bruce follows Tim up to Tim’s apartment. The scent is suffocating, but it just makes Tim roll his eyes. Before they get into the apartment, Tim stops and turns to face Bruce.
“I don’t want you scaring my pup with your scent.” Tim frowns, wrinkling his nose at the strong smell, “So you need to calm down or stay out here.”
“Why didn’t you do wait here like I told you?” Bruce growls out, completely ignoring Tim’s words and gets straight to what he wanted to talk about.
“I am a parent. I have to protect my pup at any cost. I’m not going to sit back and hope that you can fix things.” Tim hisses, letting his angry scent get stronger.
“You should trust me. I’m your father, it’s my job to keep you and your pup safe. Ra’s could have killed you in that fight.” Bruce’s whole body is tense.
“I can handle myself. I won that fight with Ra’s.” Tim points out, then he add with a little too much bite, “I don’t need you anymore.”
There’s pain that crosses Bruce’s face. An the older alpha gives a long sigh, the tension leaving his body, “I know that you are very capable. You have always been very independent and I’m proud of you for that. But I worry about you. I will never stop worrying about you.”
“I appreciate the worry.” Tim lowers his head and bumps against Bruce’s shoulder, “But let me take care of my problems.”
“You don’t have to do everything, you can let others help you.” Bruce gently scents the top of Tim’s head, “I know you aren’t weak, but I also can’t lose you.”
“You won’t lose me.” Tim promises softly, he has too much to live for to throw his life carelessly. Tim pulls away from Bruce’s embrace. Then moves to the door, “Come on, let’s go in.”
Opening the door, Tim finds Dick sitting on the couch holding Jacqueline in his arms. Tim has to hold back a growl, seeing the beta holding his pup. Dick is doing a good job taking care of his pup, Tim shouldn’t have left if he didn’t want Dick holding his pup. There’s the smell of alpha in the air and it puts Tim even more on edge. It takes a second for Tim to recognize the scent. It’s Conner’s scent.
Glancing around, Tim sees Conner standing in the kitchen. He smiles as sees the alpha walking into the living room with baby food in his hands. The alpha has helped out so much, Tim hopes that he’s able to repay him one day.
“Tim, you’re back.” Dick jumps up off the couch and rushes over to him, “I was so worried when you disappeared.”
“Sorry, I didn’t want you to try to stop me.” Tim says taking Jacqueline from Dick, immediately nuzzling her, trying to replace Dick’s scent with his own.
“You shouldn’t have gone, you know how dangerous that was.” Dick scolds, but there’s no harshness behind his words.
“Why didn’t you call me? I could have helped you teach Ra’s a lesson.” Conner sounding disappointed that he didn’t get to beat up Ra’s.
“Don’t encourage him.” Dick smacks Conner’s arm pretty hard, but he knows that it doesn’t hurt the super.
“I needed to be the once to get Ra’s to leave me alone. I don’t know if he will leave me alone, but at least he’ll think twice now.” Tim purrs, he’s so happy to have his pups in his arms again. He hates being away from her even if it’s just for a few hours.
“If he does, I know that you’ll be ready. If you’re not, I’ll be here to protect the both of you.” Conner promises handing the baby food to Tim.
Tim can’t stop the blush spreading across his face, but he manages to his voice even as he lets out a soft, “Thanks.”

Chapter Text

Things have been really quiet since Tim and Bruce had their run in with Ra’s. Tim still isn’t doing patrol work, but he’s been doing more work at W.E. He’s been going to the actual office, instead of doing work only from home. It’s been nice, all of the secretaries and other works love Jacqueline. Tim always brings her with him, he doesn’t like being apart from her. She’s really good in the office. Never cries, friendly to everyone. She quietly her toys while she sits in Tim’s lap as he works.
“You don’t understand how happy I am that you’re back in the office.” Tam says as she sets another stack of papers on his desk.
“Why is that?” Tim asks one hand typing on his laptop, the other holding one of Jacqueline’s toys for her.
“You get way more work done here. Plus, I like showing off my little niece to everyone.” Tam smiles and squishes Jacqueline’s cheek. The pup looks up at Tam, then goes back chewing on her ring toys.
“The employees do seem to love her.” Tim purrs, giving his pup a rub with his face.
“How could you not, she’s such a good pup.” Tam purrs too, then she gets a little serious, “You seem to be doing get out if the house more.”
“I feel better getting out more.” Tim gives her a small smile, “It feels wrong when I’m not always busy.”
“You’re such a workaholic.” Tam gently flicks Tim in the head, “You need to give yourself more breaks. Do stuff that you enjoy.”
“I enjoy working.” Tim shrugs and continues to type up.
“Why don’t you take the weekend and do something that’s not work related?” Tam suggests.
“To do what?” Tim frowns, he’s tired of sitting home and watching Netflix all day.
“Maybe you can go out on a date with that alpha you were staying with.” Tam gives him a wink.
Tim’s face flushes and chokes, “W-what are you talking about?!”
“I know you have a thing for him. You guys would be so cute together. Even Jacqueline approves of him.” Tam winks at him, “Who knows, maybe he’ll ask you out?”
“Tam don’t-“ Tim gasps.
“Don’t what? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tam laughs and quickly walks out of the room, “See you later. Good luck with work.”
Tim blinks in shock as she walks away from him. She wouldn’t….. She is just joking. There’s no way….
He gets a phone call from Conner.
“Hey Tim, are you free this weekend?” Conner asks.
“Did Tam call you?” Tim hisses, his face turning even more red.
“She texted me. She just said that you’ve been stressed and that I should try to get you to relax this weekend.” Conner laughs.
“I’m not stressed.” Tim frowns, hopefully that’s all she said.
“You’re always stressed.” Conner points out.
“Not always.” Tim mumbles, even though he knows it’s not true.
“So do you want to hang out this Saturday?” Conner asks, “We can take Jacqueline to the mall or something.”
“Yeah that sounds like it’ll be fun.” Tim says softly, he shouldn’t give into Tam’s medaling, but he know if he doesn’t, then she’ll just medal even harder. She’ll probably end up saying something that she shouldn’t.

Chapter Text

This is probably one of the most nerve racking thing that Tim has ever done. His legs are shaking as he walks into the restaurant where Conner is waiting for him. Clutching his pup in his arms a little tighter for comfort, Tim forces himself to calm down. At least enough to keep his scent from smelling like stress. It’s not like this is a date. He’s just coming to hang out with his best friend, who he’s hung out with most of his life. Why is he freaking out?
Even if this was a date, it still shouldn’t freak him out. Tim has been on plenty of dates before and has never been this nervous before. Especially when dating Stephanie. He never felt this nervous around her.
“Hey Tim.” Conner calls interrupts Tim’s thoughts, he waves Tim over to a table in the corner of the restaurant, “I grabbed us a table.”
“You weren’t waiting long were you?” Tim asks as he sits down at the table, keeping Jacqueline in his lap.
“No, I just got here a few minutes ago.” Conner smiles passing the menu over to Tim, “Have you eaten here before?”
Tim shakes his head, the restaurants that he usually go to are way more fancier than this little diner. He honestly prefers the small, less expensive restaurants. The food tastes more real and the waiters are a lot nicer, less fake, “It seems like a nice place though.”
“It has good ratings online. Unlike most restaurants in Gotham.” Conner says playfully, but it’s true. Even the best restaurants in Gotham, end up with bad ratings after customers get robbed or killed by random criminals. This restaurant has just opened up a few months ago, it won’t take long for it to lose its rating as well.
“What are you thinking about getting?” Tim asks trying to keep his voice from cracking, he is way too nervous for this. It’s just a lunch with friends. Nothing more. Nothing to stress.
“I’m debating between a burger or some kind of pasta.” Conner says, then stands up, “Can you order me a water when the waiter comes by, I’m going to run to the bathroom.”
“Sure.” Tim squeaks out.
Conner doesn’t seem to notice how freaked out Tim is, or at least he doesn’t act like he did. Tim’s phone starts ringing as soon Conner leaves the table. Pulling out his phone, Tim frowns, seeing Ra’s name on his screen.
“What do you want, Ra’s?” Tim hisses as he answers the phone.
“Oh come, Timothy. There is no reason for such hostility.” Ra’s voice is surprisingly calm considering their last interaction, “I’m not calling to antagonize you. I’m calling to make peace between us.”
“Peace? After you killed my pup?” Tim growls, holding Jacqueline closer to him.
“Well you let my heir die, so I believe that we’re even.” Ra’s says and that pisses Tim off.
“I swear Ra’s-“ Tim starts his deep growl, but Ra’s cuts him off.
“I am calling to make peace. I want to have a clean slate between us.” Ra’s has with a bit of purr in his voice, “One day you will have my heir and I will patiently wait for that day. But for now, I want to keep things civil between us.”
“Come near my pup again and I’ll kill you.” Tim hisses and hangs up the phone. He couldn’t believe that Ra’s would try to blame him for what happened to their pup. It’s not like Tim hasn’t blamed himself enough for what happened. But if Ra’s stops bothering, he doesn’t care what the alpha thinks.
“Are you ok?” Conner asks, Tim can’t help but jump, he didn’t even realize that the alpha had come back, he was so lost in thought, “You smell pretty angry.”
“Sorry.” Tim flushes, he didn’t realize he was letting out such an angry scent. Glancing down at his pup, he notices that his scent is causing Jacqueline to get upset.
“You don’t need to apologize. If you’re mad at something you don’t need to hide it. I’m sure whatever it is, I can help you feel better.” Conner says giving Tim a sympathetic look.
“I just had an upsetting phone call, but it’s fine. I think everything is settled now.” Tim explains, his heart fluttering at the amount of concern Conner has for him. There aren’t many people in his life that care about him like Conner does. Especially ones that actually show how much they care.
“Just let me know if you need anything. Someone to talk to, a babysitter, someone to beat people up for you. I’m here for you.” Conner says seriously, but Tim can’t help let out a soft laugh.
“I know Conner and I love you for that.” Tim says without thinking and immediately regrets it, “I-I mean I don’t love you! I like you, but I don’t like like you. You’re my best friend and I wish I could spend everyday with you, but not in a weird way. We’re just friends, I don’t like you as anything more. Nope.”
“What?” Conner blinks at him.
“Wow, do you see that they have shrimp on the menu? I haven’t had shrimp in ages.” Tim holds up the menu trying to change the subject.
Luckily, Conner goes along with it, “Oh really? Maybe we should get some of those.”
The rest of the non-date does really well. Not terribly awkward, though Tim wasn’t able to really calm down. Especially when Conner flew Tim and Jacqueline home. Tim’s heart was beating out of his chest while in Conner’s arms and he knows the meta could hear it the entire time.
“See you later, let’s hang out again soon.” Conner says as he drops Tim down inside Tim’s bedroom.
Tim is so happy that Conner isn’t making this as weird as Tim accidentally is, “Yeah. I’ll text you later.”
The alpha flies off and Tim is finally able to relax. Tim sets Jacqueline down on the bed and flops down next to her. Groaning loudly, Tim buries his face into the pillows, “How badly did that go?”
Jacqueline lets out a little mewl and Tim sighs, grabbing her and nuzzling the top of her head, “That badly huh? Luckily for Conner is pretty cool. Hopefully I can act like a normal person next time I see him.”

Chapter 48

Summary:

Short chapter this week with Tam being the ultimate match maker.

Chapter Text

Tim has been acting weird ever since he and Conner went out to eat. His texts to Conner have been really short. Barely more than one word responses. Conner isn’t sure if he did something wrong or what. Tim’s probably just busy, that’s what Conner tells himself. Surely Tim would tell him if he did something wrong. He plans on ignoring it and letting things fix themselves. But then Tam calls and asks to meet with him to talk about Tim.
“Is everything ok?” Conner asks after landing on the roof of W.E. where Tam is waiting for him, “Is Tim alright? Is Jacqueline?”
“Calm down cloneboy.” Tam laughs, “Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to talk to you.”
“About what?” Conner asks letting himself relax knowing that no one is in danger.
“About Tim.” Tam says, “How did your date go?”
“Date?!” Conner chokes, “What do you mean date?”
“You and Tim’s date? How did it go?”
“We didn’t go on a date. We were just hanging out. Like we usually do.” Conner shrugs, trying to play cool, but he can feel his face heating up.
“Really? Cause Tim told me it was a date.” Tam says
“H-he did?! Oh. I didn’t know that he… I thought he was in love with the alpha that’s Jacqueline’s mom. That… changes a lot….” Conner trails off.
“What does that change?” Tam smiles even bigger.
“I-I mean… I kind of like Tim too…” Conner admits his getting even hotter.
“You guys are ridiculous.” Tam starts laughing, “Tim didn’t think it was a date. But I’ve been trying to set you both up together, but you guys are so bad at talking to each other.”
“He-he didn’t think it was a date?” Conner blinks, “Then why was Tim acting so weird during the dinner?”
“Because Tim has a huge crush on you.” Tam shakes her head, “You both are clearly into each other, but neither of you know how to say it to each other.”
“I just… Tim has been through a lot and I want to push him into a relationship or anything like that.” Conner says, he’s liked Tim since they were really young, but Conner was always afraid of how the bat would react to him trying to date his son. Once they got older, he didn’t think Tim was interested in him and started going after Cassie. He never though Tim would actually be interested in him, “Do you really think Tim… likes me like that?”
“One hundred percent. Tim’s eye light up at the mention of your name. You’d notice if you weren’t the same way. You both are hopeless. It’s painful to watch.” Tam sighs patting Conner’s arm, “That’s why I’m trying to help.”
“What do I though? I can’t just go up to him and be like ‘hey, heard you have a crush on me, want to date’?” Conner runs his hand through his hair.
“Oh you really are hopeless.” Tam shakes her head giving him a sympathetic look, “That’s why I’m here. I have a plan on how to help you both realize how dumb you’re being.”

Chapter Text

Tim pov

The pack has been hanging around Tim more often than normal. At first it was a little uncomfortable for him, still feeling a little weird after leaving the pack. It’s very uncommon for omegas to leave their pack. Mostly because the rest of the pack won’t allow them to.
While Tim has been away from the pack, he hasn’t regretted leaving the pack. But now… being around them so much…. he’s constantly being reminded how alone he feels without pack.
At the moment Babs, Dick and Bruce are all hanging out in Tim’s apartment. It feels weird having them all over at his place. But in a nice kind of weird.
Dick has been in Tim’s apartment so much he almost lives there. It’s been nice to have extra help with Jacqueline. With doing more work for W.E. it’s been nice having so help with his pup. Tam helps out, but she doesn’t want to become a glorified babysitter. Jason has been visiting Tim and Jacqueline at W.E. during his lunch break. The alpha won’t come over to Tim’s house no matter how much he invites. He doesn’t want to intrude on Tim’s space. Even Bruce has been spending more time with Tim. Mostly at work, but he’s been reaching out to Tim more. Inviting him to come over to the manor more.
It makes Tim rethink leaving the pack. He didn’t really want to leave the pack in the first place. But is going back really what he wants to do? If he goes back, will they just go back to ignoring him? Barely talking to him. He wants Jacqueline to grow up in a place that she feels welcomed.
Though seeing her in Bruce’s arms…
There’s only a few times in Tim’s life that he’s seen Bruce look this happy. It makes Tim’s heart swell with happiness watching them. Tim is finally starting to feel comfortable enough around his old pack to trust them with his pup.
Exhaustion from doing more work than usual starts to hit Tim. He can barely keep his eyes open.
“Timmy, you ok? You look tired.” Dick gives a soft beta purr as he runs his hand through Tim’s hair.
“I’m just a little tired.” Tim mumbles rubbing his eyes.
“Why don’t you go lay down?” Barbara suggests, “Jacqueline will be fine with us out here. If anything happens you’ll be in the next room.”
“You sure it’ll be ok?” Tim asks, hesitant to leave Jacqueline.
“Tim, I promise that she’ll be ok.” Dick laughs as he he ushers Tim to his bedroom.
“Ok… I’ll only lay down for a minute or two.” Tim says allowing himself to be pushed in his bedroom.
He closes his door and sits down on his bed. Suddenly a knock on his window causing Tim to jump. His head snaps towards the sound, his heart racing, then he sees that it’s Conner and he instantly relaxes.
“What are you doing Conner?” Tim can’t help the smile that spreads across his face.
“Hey, can we talk?” Conner enters Tim’s bedroom through the window.
“Yeah, what’s up?” Tim asks with a yawn.
“I just….” Conner starts then rubs the back of his neck, his face turning red.
“Is something wrong?” Concern enters Tim’s voice, Conner doesn’t look this uncomfortable very often.
“Nothing’s wrong. It’s actually-“ Conner starts, but cuts himself off.
“Conner?” Tim frowns starting to really worry.
“Did you hear that?” Conner asks turning to face the door.

Notes:

I’m going to take next week off so I won’t the next chapter of this until the Sunday after Christmas. Got finals and traveling this week, since I’m near the end of the story, I want to make the next chapters a little longer.

Chapter Text

Conner’s pov

It’s been hard to get Tim out of Conner’s mind after what Tam told him. What is he supposed to do with this information? He needs to talk to Tim….. but he’s afraid that it’ll end up ruining his friendship with Tim. He doesn’t know what he’d do if that happened. It would crush Conner.
Continuing to ignore his feelings for Tim after finding out he feels the same isn’t an option either.
Conner keeps finding himself unconsciously listening for Tim’s heart beat. It’s so soothing listening to the steady beat of Tim’s heart. Every now and then picking up it’s pace when Tim gets stressed or does some exercise.
After a few days, Conner finally gets up enough courage to approach Tim about the subject. Listening to Tim’s heart, Conner finds the omega alone in his bedroom in his apartment. There are other heart beats in the apartment with Jacqueline’s quicker heartbeat. It’s a good time for this conversation. If it goes bad, then Tim’s scent won’t cause Jacqueline to become upset.
Knocking on the window, Conner chuckles softly, when he sees Tim jump in surprise. Tim relaxes when he realizes that it’s Conner.
A soft noise coming from the other room suddenly catches Conner’s attention. Not paying attention, Conner isn’t sure if it was a real sound, or just the wind. Turning towards the door, he asks, “Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” Tim asks tensing up.
Without answering, Conner opens the door and exits the bedroom. The members of Tim’s pack stare at him with wide eyes when they see him exit Tim’s room. Ignoring them as well, Conner walks over to the balcony. Pushing the curtains apart, he reveals a girl standing on the balcony. She jumps back in surprise. The girl is wearing a red and blue tight outfit with a white cat mask.
Conner tenses up, ready to attack the intruder that is probably working for Ra’s, but Tim speaks up stopping him in his tracks.
“Lynx?”
It takes a moment for Conner’s mind to figure out who Lynx is. It’s Tim’s ex? He’s not sure if they ever really dated. But she’s Jacqueline’s mom. Which means that she’s important to Tim. He’s never met Lynx before. It was easy to pretend that she didn’t exist, but now that she’s standing in front of him… Conner can’t help, but feel threatened by her.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just need to talk to Tim for a moment.” Lynx says as she opens the glass door, “Is it alright if I come in?”
“Yeah.” Tim nods eagerly, his face has a little blush on it.
“I think it’s time that we head out. You think so too, right Babs?” Dick asks, turning to Barbara.
“I think so too.” Barbara says, quickly getting up from her spot on the couch.
Bruce reluctantly hands Jacqueline over to Tim, he squeezes Tim’s shoulder comfortingly, “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”
“I won’t.” Tim says with a soft smile.
Tim’s pack walk out of Tim’s apartment, leaving Tim, Conner and Lynx. It’s pretty uncomfortable. Conner thinks that he should leave them alone, but he’s afraid that if he does, he’ll lose all chances has with Tim.
“Can you give us a moment?” Lynx asks, as she sizes Conner up. Probably wondering who he is to Tim.
“It’s ok. Conner can stay.” Tim says before Conner can reply.
Lynx gives Conner a look, then turns back to Tim a little bit more relaxed, “I’m glad to see you taking care of yourself. You look a lot better now than the last time I saw you.”
“That’s cause I have my pup back. Everything feels right again.” Tim purrs, nuzzling the top of Jacqueline’s head.
Lynx steps forward and nuzzles both Tim and Jacqueline. Its a bit uncomfortable for Conner to watch such an intimate thing between an alpha with their omega.
“I’m glad that you’re happy.” Lynx gives a soft alpha purr, “I don’t agree with what you did, but I’m glad.”
“I brought back our pup. Are you going to spend more time around?” Tim’s voice is barely a whisper.
“No. I actually plan on this being one of the last time we met.” Lynx says taking a step away from the omega.
“Why?” Tim whimpers, “What did I do wrong?”
“You did nothing wrong.” Conner immediately growls, he shouldn’t be interrupting, but he can’t stop himself.
“Who are you?” Lynx narrows her eyes at Conner.
“He’s my best friend.” Tim answers without hesitation, “He’s helped out with Jacqueline a lot.”
Lynx moves closer to Conner and takes in his scent. Conner can’t help but stiffen. He’s not used to being scented this casually. Satisfied with her findings, Lynx gaze softens, “You smell like a good alpha.”
“T-thanks?” Conner blinks unsure how he smells like a good alpha.
Lynx turns back to Tim, “I’m not a good alpha. I’m not meant for family. I am the leader of a gang. Jacqueline is better off without me in her life.”
“That’s not-“ Tim starts, but Lynx interrupts him.
“It is. Maybe I will be able to be there for her when she’s older, but for now…. Jacqueline needs alphas like this guy in her life.” Lynx says and gestures towards Conner.

Chapter Text

Tim’s pov

There are so many feelings that Tim is feeling right now, that he isn’t sure what to do with him. Lynx left without saying goodbye. To Jacqueline or Tim. It’s not like Tim really expected, or even wanted Lynx to stay and be a parent, but…. Having her around just feels right. Tim knows that it is probably his instincts. It doesn’t make his feelings any less real. He can’t ignore the ache in his heart as he puts Jacqueline down in her crib. The omega in him just thinks about all the things he did wrong by his pup and that’s why his alpha doesn’t want him.
“You ok?” Conner’s voice interrupts Tim’s thoughts.
Glancing back at the alpha standing in his door way, Tim forgot that Conner was even here, “Hey, sorry. That must have been uncomfortable for you.”
“It…. was a little. But I’m glad that you let me stay.” Conner says as he moves closer to Tim, “I have been wondering what kind of alpha Lynx was. I was worried that if she wasn’t a good alpha and tried to come into Jacqueline’s life, that she would cause problems. She seems like a decent alpha.”
“I wish that I was a better omega…. Maybe then she would have stayed.” Tim mumbles without thinking, it’s so easy to talk to Conner.
“She’s not staying because you’re too good of an omega.” Conner gently cradles Tim’s face in his hands, “That’s what she came over to tell you.”
“No. That doesn’t make sense.” Tim shakes his head, “I messed up so many times with Jacqueline. I’m a terrible omega. I always have been.”
“Tim, you are the most amazing omega. The most amazing person. You have been the best parent you could be for Jacqueline. She is lucky to have you as her omega.” Conner says, glancing away then he adds as his face reddens, “I…. I think that you’re the best omega that I’ve met. I’m sorry that Lynx isn’t coming back, but I’m here for you. In any way that you need. I’m here.”
“Thank you. That means a lot to me.” Tim says with a slight purr in his voice.
“I actually…. That’s something similar to what I wanted to tell you.” Conner continues, his voice is wavering and his face is even more red.
“Conner?” Tim tilts his head.
“I like you. I really really like you. And I want to be your and Jacqueline’s alpha. I want to be here for you. O-only if you want me to be that is.” Conner gets out, then stares at him expectantly.
Instead of answering, Tim gently tugs Conner’s face down and kisses him.
Conner’s eyes widen when they break apart and Tim immediately freaks out, “That wasn’t a joke, right? Oh gosh it totally was! Tam put you up to this-“
Conner stops Tim by kissing him.
“I would never joke about this.” Conner purrs when he separates, “I love you Tim.”
“I love you too.” Tim hugs the large alpha to hide the tears that are starting to well up in his eyes. It doesn’t feel real. Internally he’s questioning everything the alpha has said to him, but Tim does his best push the doubt away. Tim knows Conner. He wouldn’t play with Tim’s feeling like that. The realization of what that means has Tim’s heart racing.
“Is everything ok?” Conner asks when he notices Tim’s heart rate increase.
“You love me…” Tim whispers as his brain is reeling to catch up.
“Yes. I love you so much.” Conner confirms tightening his grip on Tim slightly. As if he wanted to prove that he didn’t want to let Tim go.
“I…. That makes me so happy.” Tim hiccups burying his face in Conner’s chest.

One of the things that Tim has missed the most about patrolling is watching the sun rise. Sitting down on a tall building and watching the sky turn into different shades of pink. It’s the only time that the sky isn’t cloudy and grey. The feeling of the wind blowing his cape.
“Hey B.” Tim smiles when he hears someone land on the building behind him. The sound of the landing sounds heavy, mean that it has to be either Bruce or Jason. It’s rare for Jason to come to this part of Gotham, so Tim is pretty confident with his guess.
The soft grumble confirms Tim’s guess. Glancing back, Tim watches Batman approach him, “I thought you were busy working with Damian tonight.”
“It’s been really slow tonight.” Batman says as he stands awkwardly behind him. He’s a lot easier to talk to when he’s Bruce, when he’s Batman he barely responds.
“Yeah. It’s a good night for me to come back to patrol.” Tim says with a smile, “I missed this.”
“Did you get hurt at all?” Bruce asks moving a little closer to Tim.
“I’m fine.” Tim huffs a laugh, Batdad being protective like usual, “I only stopped one mugging. They didn’t even get a chancel hurt me.”
Bruce hums in approval.
“I want to continue doing this more. I just don’t like being away from Jacqueline for this long.” Tim admits.
“How is she doing with Tamera?” Bruce asks.
“Way better than I’m doing with it.” Tim sighs.
“It’ll get better.” Bruce promises, putting a hand on Tim’s shoulder. Tim jumps in surprise, he didn’t realize that he was that close to him. But after a second he relaxes under the touch.
They stay like that for a bit. It feels nice. Tim can’t help the soft purr that rumbles in his throat. He could stay like this forever. But his omegan instincts start to become unbearable. He can’t stand being away from his pup any longer.
“I should get going. Tam will get mad if I’m out for too long.” Tim says as he stands up.
“You could stay out longer if you lived in the manor.” Bruce tried to say casually, but Tim can tell he that he’s been wanting this for a long time.
“I do miss living in the manor, but I think it’s best that I stay at my own place. Having space from the pack has been good for both me and you guys.” Tim turns around and gives Bruce a soft smile, “I’m still here. I’m still pack. I just need more room to be myself.”
“You…. Want to be pack again?” Bruce asks his eyes widen in surprise.
“If that’s ok with you guys.” Tim says softly, he didn’t think about it, but they could reject him. He’s never heard of an omega returning to a pack that they’ve left. He’s not sure if most packs would take them back or not.
“Of course that’s ok. I told you that you’re always welcomed. No matter what you’ll always be family. You never stopped being pack to me.” Bruce pulls Tim into a hug giving a warm purr. Tim purr back in response.

The scent of Tam is stale when Tim gets home. Panic starts to set in. Fumbling with the keys, Tim races to get the door open. The door swings wide open, revealing a startled looking Dick holding Jacqueline.
“Dick, what are doing here?” Tim sighs with relief. He was worried that Ra’s had tried to hurt his pup again.
“I wanted to see how you were doing after your first patrol back. Tam had work to do, so I said I’d stay to watch Jacqueline. I hope that that’s ok.” Dick explained giving him an unsure smile.
“Yeah. It’s fine.” Tim says as he takes his pup from Dick. Immediately he scents her. His inner omega keens now that his pup is back with him.
“So, how was patrol?” Dick asks taking a seat of the couch.
“It was slow, but it was good.” Tim says taking a seat next to Dick.
“You think B will let you go on more?”
“I hope so. I really missed it.” Tim leans against Dick, holding Jacqueline close to him.
Dick tenses up, then wraps an arm around a Tim, “I’m glad. Maybe we can go out on patrol together. Just like old times.”
“It can never be like old times.” Tim reminds him, “You aren’t the same person you used to be. Neither am I.”
“I understand.” Dick says with a hurt face.
“But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to patrol with you.” Tim says quickly, “I want to hang out with you, but it’s not going to be like it used to be.”
“Maybe it can be better than it was.” Dick says as he nuzzles the top of Tim’s head.
“Maybe.” Tim agrees softly.
Things are starting to look up for him. It feels too good to be true. This is usually the part when things go terribly wrong for him. But Tim knows that even if it does, that he’ll be ok. He is stronger than he thought he was. And if Tim is struggling to deal with something, he doesn’t have to do it on his own anymore. He has a pack. He also has Conner now. There’s nothing that Tim can’t handle.

Tim’s pov
Ten years later

“I’ve packed, shirts, pants, underwear, jackets and tennis shoes, what am I missing? I know I’m missing something.” Tim runs around the entirely pink room with a little backpack in his hands, trying to figure out what he’s forgetting.
“Tim, relax.” Conner wraps his arms around Tim, effectively calming the stressed out omega.
“How can I relax? Our pup is leaving us.” Tim whines as he leans back into Conner.
“It’s only for a week. She’ll be back.” Conner laughs softly.
“But that’s so long! What if she gets hurt? Or she gets home sick? She’s never been away from us for that long!” Tim squirms out of Conner’s arms going to back to searching Jacqueline’s room.
“Jacqueline will be fine. You know she’s a very independent kid.” Conner shakes his head, no longer trying to stop Tim from pacing around.
“But she got home sick on her sleepover.” Tim points out.
“She was only five. She’s had plenty of sleep overs since then that have gone fine.” Conner replies back, “She goes to your pack’s place every weekend.”
“Yeah, but she knows them. She won’t know anyone at the camp. You know how difficult it is for her to make friends.” Tim pauses to stare into the small pink backpack in his hands. He knows there’s something he’s missing something.
“Maybe, but most of the time she prefers to be alone.”
“Isn’t that… concerning?” Tim asks softly. Is it because she’s been in the pit that she’s so antisocial? Or is it his bad parenting? He questions every decision he makes when it involves Jacqueline, but no matter how long he thinks about it, he can’t figure out what the right thing to do.
“Stop stressing yourself!” Conner suddenly picks Tim up, causing the small omega to let out a squeak in surprise. But the alpha ignores it and carries Tim out of the pup’s bedroom, “You’ll go bald if you keep this up.”
“You’re the one related to Lex Luther.” Tim snips.
“I will drop you.” Conner warns with a playfully growl. They both know that he wouldn’t. Even when they get to the sofa, Conner gently places Tim down on it, instead of dropping him.
“Do you really think she’ll be ok?” Tim asks as he lies on the sofa, staring up at the ceiling.
“Tim, it’s just a week long camp. She’ll be fine. If anything happens you know that I’ll hear it and be there in a second.” Conner says, causing Tim to frown again. They’ve agreed that they won’t tell Jacqueline about any of them being heroes. Tim only goes on patrol when Jaqueline is staying at the manor.
“I’m going to try to be ok with this. I’ll keep my freaking out internally.” Tim sits up looking sadly down at the backpack in his hands.
Conner sits down next to him opening his mouth to respond, but before he can anything out, the front door opens. Dick walks into the apartment with Jacqueline following close behind.
“Look who’s back from school and ready to get ready for camp!” Dick announces.
Jaqueline walks up to Tim and takes her bag out of Tim’s hands, “You packed my bag?”
“Hello to you too.” Tim huffs as he watches his pup go through her bag. She’s wearing her Gotham Academy uniform, which she hates because there’s no pink on it.
“You didn’t pack my socks.” Jaqueline frowns down at the bag.
“Sock! That’s what I was forgetting!” Tim says and leaps off the sofa.
“He’s been like this all day.” Tim can hear Conner whisper that as he goes through Jaqueline’s dresser to find her some socks.
“Here you go. Everything you need for camp.” Tim says stuffing the handful of socks into the backpack.
“Thank you mama.” Jaqueline smiles and puts her backpack on, “I’m ready to go.”
“Already? You got here.” Tim wraps his arms around his pups and scents her head.
“Check in is in a hour. If we don’t leave now, then we’ll be late.” Jaqueline squirms out of Tim’s arms and goes over to Conner, “Dad, let’s go.”
“Just wait a sec, I have to go get my shoes.” Tim turns towards his bedroom.
“You can’t come, mama. You’ll just start crying and it’ll super embarrassing for everyone.” Jaqueline crosses her arms.
“I won’t cry.” Tim insists, but his eyes are already getting misty.
“You said that the last time you dropped me off at school.” Jaqueline rolls her eyes.
“It’s ok, Timmy. You can be there when Jackie gets picked up.” Dick promises pulling Tim into a side hug, “I’ll stay here with you. It’s going to be ok.”
“Ok.” Tim mumbles as he watches Conner and his pup walk out of the apartment. She’s only ten, but she already doesn’t want anything to do with him. He didn’t think he’d have to deal with until she became a teenager. It was only a few years ago that she didn’t want to go anywhere if Tim wasn’t there.
“I know it’s hard to let go, but you know that it’s for the best.” Dick rests his head on top of Tim’s head.
“Doesn’t make it any less hard.” Tim sighs, leaning against his older brother.
“Why don’t stay over at the manor while Jaqueline’s away? Being with pack will help keep your mind off her being away.” Dick suggests
“That actually sounds nice.” Tim whines softly, not liking that Jaqueline’s scent is already not smelling as fresh as it had.

There have been a few times over the years that Tim has come back to stay at the manor since he officially moved out. Mostly just on weekends or over night. Nothing as long as a week. His apartment is close enough that there’s no reason to stay longer at the manor.
Dick and Jason have both moved out, though they’re over often enough that it’s easy to forget that. Damian has also technically moved out, living on Gotham University’s campus during school and at the manor during breaks. Cass is the only one that stays at the manor full time. She stays there mostly to keep Alfred company. She’s really excited that Tim and Conner has been staying there. During the day it’s just her and Alfred.
“Timmy.” Cass purrs hanging on Tim’s back as he walks down the stairs.
“I’m happy to see you too, but you gotta let me walk.” Tim laughs as he drags Cass, struggling to move under her weight.
“Nooooo. I want to take in as much Timmy as I can.” Cass nuzzles the top of his head.
“You act like I never come here.” Tim shakes his head, surprising himself when he manages to get to the bottom of the stairs without falling.
“Not enough.”
“Sorry coming over every weekend isn’t enough for you.” Tim huffs, dragging Cass with him to the living room.
“Good morning baby bird.” Conner greets from where he’s sitting on the sofa. Dick and Stephanie are sitting with. Jason is sitting alone on a chair next the sofa.
“Mornin’.” Tim smiles dragging himself and Cass over to flop on top of Conner. The meta alpha yelps in surprise. After a second of squirming, Tim gets himself comfortable in his alpha’s lap with Cass sprawled across the both of them.
“How’d you sleep?” Dick asks ruffling Tim’s hair.
“I’d sleep better if Jaqueline was here.” Tim frowns lays his head on Conner’s shoulder.
“The pup has only been gone for three days and you’re this much of a mess? It’s really pathetic, Timothy.” Damian rolls his eyes from his spot in the corner of the room. Tim didn’t even notice that the young alpha was in the room.
“You’re not supposed to be here this weekend.” Jason smirks at Damian, “You miss the pack omega, demon brat?”
“Tt of course a simpleton like you would misinterpret this. I’m just here to get a flash drive that I need for school.” Damian huffs crossing his arms and won’t even look at Tim.
“Don’t tease him too much.” Tim laughs, they’ve both come a long way in their relationship from where they used to be. Damian no longer insults Tim like he used to and he actually enjoys spending time with Jaqueline. Tim does his best to not start arguments with Damian and not stress when he spends time with Jaqueline. The last time Damian hung out with Jaqueline, he taught her the best way to stab people. It’s not the worst thing for her to know, but Tim doesn’t appreciate Damian teach his ten year old pup how to stab.
“But the brat is so fun to tease.” Jason laughs, then turns back to Tim, “How have things been with the pup?”
Jason has been trying to get close to Jaqueline, but he never allows himself to get too close to her. Tim wonders if the alpha will ever be able to forgive himself for what he did to Tim all those years ago.
“She’s doing really well in school. She got all A’s on her last report card.” Tim purrs with pride.
“Jaqueline has been having a hard time making friends, but she’s been working really hard in her classes.” Conner adds.
“Friends are not needed to be successful.” Damian points out.
“Says the guy that almost moved to Kansas to be closer to his friends.” Dick snorts.
“You weren’t supposed to tell anyone about that.” Damian hisses, his face turning red.
“Awww the demon is embarrassed about having feelings? That’s cute.” Jason laughs, giving Damian a huge smile, getting an embarrassed glare back.
“I’ll kill you Todd.” Damian snarls.
Tim laughs at his pack bickering with each other. He’s glad that he didn’t completely cut them out of his life. Then his phone starts going off.
“The camp is calling. I have to take this.” Tim manages to squeeze of from where he was being sandwiched between Conner and Cass.
“Is everything all right?” Conner asks, suddenly becoming alert.
“I’m about to find out.” Tim says with a smile, trying to hide his panic. Why would the camp being calling him? What if something happened to his pup? Tim exits the room so he can hear over his siblings fighting. Tim answers the phone, “Hello?”
“Is this Timothy Wayne-Kent?” A pleasant sounding voice asks.
“Yes it is. How can I help you?” Tim asks, impressed on how little his voice is wavering.
“This is Lakeside Summer Camp. I’m calling to let you know that the money you provided for the camper store has been returned.” The voice says casually.
“Why is it being returned?” Tim frowns.
“Because Jaqueline was picked up.” The voice says like that was obvious.
“By who?” Tim’s heart rate starts increasing.
“By her alpha.”

Blood starts boiling in anger as Tim hangs up the phone. All he could think was Ra’s. Ra’s was after his pup again. It’s been over a year since Tim has heard from Ra’s. There relationship has been super weird. He hasn’t tried to kill Jaqueline in such a long time, Tim thought that they might have actually moved past that. Ra’s still calls and sends gifts like a creepy ex, but it’s been pretty civil. It doesn’t make that much sense that Ra’s try something now, but he is insane, so Tim wouldn’t put it past him.
Tim storms back into the living room, his face red from anger and his heart pounding in fear. Everyone stops talking and turns their attention to him.
“Is everything ok?” Conner ask standing up, his face full of concern.
Tim manages between breathes, “Jaqueline is no longer at camp.”

Having a mate that has super hearing is the best thing. Tim didn’t marry Conner for his ability to find their pup in a matter of minutes, but it definitely made Conner more attractive. Conner flew Tim over to where he located their pup.
They find Jaqueline in an abandoned apartment in the middle of Gotham city. Tim’s heart leaps when he sees his pup seemingly unhurt in the apartment. Without hesitation, Tim races to her side.
“Jaqueline, puppy, are you ok?” Tim immediately starts checking her over and scenting her, making sure that she’s unhurt.
“Mama, what are you doing here? How did you get throw the window with Dad?” Jaqueline asks giving them a confused look, like it’s normal that she’s there.
“That doesn’t matter right now. How did you get here? Who brought you here?” Tim asks, pushing her long dark hair out of her face.
“I did.” A familiar voice says behind him.
Tim whips around and sees Lynx.
It’s been ten years since Tim had seen Lynx. Over ten years since he and Lynx had that one night stand. But even though it’s been that long, Tim can’t help but feel drawn to her. She’s the first one to ever bite him and she is the sire to his pup. His inner omega still sees her as his alpha.
Swallowing down his feelings, Tim moves between Lynx and Jaqueline protectively.
“What are doing with our pup?!” Conner snarls getting into a fighting position.
“Our? This is mine and Timothy’s pup.” Lynx narrows her eyes at Conner.
Conner shows his teeth to her and Tim is afraid that he might attack, they don’t really need that right now. Even though Tim doesn’t want to move away from his pup, he’d also rather the two alphas not fight in front of his pup either. Reluctantly, Tim moves between them, “Conner is Jacqueline’s alpha. You said yourself that he’d be better for the job that you.”
“You’re right. I’m not fit to be a parent.” Lynx shakes her head, “But she still is my pup, not yours, clone. You don’t have a say in what happens to her.”
Conner let’s out a low growl, but Tim stays between them. Putting a hand on Conner’s chest, keeping him back, “Why are you here, Lynx?”
“I want my pup to know where she came from. She’s old enough to know that I’m her sire. It’s time that she starts learning from me how to fight.” Lynx explains.
“Jaqueline is too young to fight.” Tim hisses, too many people are trying to teach his pup how to fight, he wants her just to have a normal childhood.
“You were Robin at a younger age than her. She needs to become strong. Otherwise she’ll get herself killed.” Lynx says with a hint of growl.
“I don’t want that kind of life for her.” Tim gives a growl back, part of him is telling him that’s a bad idea, because this is alpha, but most of him doesn’t like the idea of the alpha putting his pup being put in danger.
“What are you talking about fighting? Shouldn’t I get a say in my life?” Jaqueline speaks up, Tim almost forgot that she was in the room.
Tim turns, letting his back turn to Lynx, he knows that she won’t attack them, she isn’t that dumb. Looking down at his angry pup, Tim lets out a soft sigh, “Jaqueline, I know this is confusing for you, but the grownups need to talk. I’ll explain this to you later.”
“Like you explained to me that Conner isn’t my real dad?” Jaqueline growls, eyes narrowed and her hands balled up in fists.
Tim flinches, “That’s… I thought that you were too young to understand.”
“You always treat me like a pup! I’m not a puppy anymore!” Jaqueline snaps.
“I know… but you’ll always be my puppy. I’m just try to keep you safe.” Tim says softly, it hurt so much hearing his pup say that to him.
“Lynx wants to train me to keep myself safe.” Jaqueline points out with a hiss.
Conner lets out a growl, like he wants to say something, but Tim ignores him. Crouching down to his pups level, Tim says in a quiet voice, “Jaqueline, the reason I’m so protective of you, is because I’ve already lost you once. Getting involved in the crime fighting life is so dangerous. I just can’t lose you again.”
“You won’t lose her. I will keep her safe. My gang has become stable, so I have more to time to be around.” Lynx says walking over to Tim’s side, “You’re best chance of not losing her, is letting Jaqueline be trained so she can defend herself. She’s already in danger just knowing you.”
“….I know that you’re right, but…. I’m still worried.” Tim whines, giving his pup a pained look.
Jaqueline’s face softens and hugs Tim, “Mama, you’re not going to lose me. I promise that I’ll be safe and listen to all of Lynx’s instructions.”
“I will be keeping an ear out for her. If anything goes wrong I’ll be there in less than a second.” Conner says, it sounds more like a threat to Lynx than him trying to reassure Tim. But it does make Tim feel better.
“I guess we can try it out. But if you get hurt even once, then I’m calling this off.” Tim says nuzzling Jaqueline head, not wanting to ever let her go.
“Thank you mama!” Jaqueline squirms out of Tim’s hold and bounces over to Lynx, “I already know how to stab people! Uncle Damian taught me how to!”
“Lynx.” Tim lets out a low growl catching the alpha’s attention, “If I find out that you’re teaching her stuff that I wouldn’t approve of, I’ll make you regret coming here.”
Lynx smirks, “I like this side of you, little omega. I makes me remember why we got together.”
Conner and Tim leave the abandoned building, leaving Lynx to train Jaqueline. It pains Tim to leave his pup with Lynx, even more so than when he left her at camp. But he knows that she’s growing up and he needs to let’s her do more things.
“So she’s going to be around more?” Conner asks with a low growl when he sets Tim down on the floor of their apartment.
“I know you don’t like Lynx, but she is Jaqueline’s sire. If she agrees to my rules, then I don’t see why I wouldn’t let her see Jaqueline.” Tim explains patting the alpha’s arm, trying to make him feel better, “Plus, if she wanted to, she could take this court and get a judge to completely take Jaqueline away. You know that omegas rarely gain custody of the pup in a separation.”
“I know, but…. Now Jaqueline will treat Lynx like her alpha….” Conner’s face turns sad.
“You’ll always be Jaqueline’s alpha, even if you’re not her sire. Even with Lynx around more, she doesn’t want to commit to actually being Jaqueline’s alpha.” Tim points out.
“So I’m good enough as long as I’m around more than Lynx.” Conner huffs with a growl.
Tim grabs Conner’s face and forces him to meet his eyes, “Hey. Don’t do that to yourself. It’s my job to be insecure, not yours. Your job is to make me feel better. How is this relationship going to work if we’re both the insecure one?”
“Tim-.” Conner starts.
“Jaqueline loves you and Lynx being around won’t change that. You have been an amazing dad to her. No one can change that.” Tim closes his eyes and leans forward so his forehead is touching Conner’s forehead.
“Thank you.” Conner breathes out, letting the tension out of his body, “Sometimes you have to let me be the insecure one. It’s only fair if we take turns.”
“Ok, but only on rare occasions.” Tim smiles not moving away from Conner, enjoying the closeness.
Conner kisses him, “I love you. I’m so happy that you’re my Robin.”
“I love you too, my cloneboy.” Tim laughs.
“…..more than Lynx?” Conner asks softly.
“Without question.” Tim replies immediately, “I couldn’t have asked for a better alpha than you.”
Conner lets out a purr and nuzzles Tim, “I couldn’t have asked for a better omega.”
