Hidden in the Wires

Summary:

Izuku's quirk is Supercomputer. It turns his brain into a high-end computer, gives him a USB tail, and USB ports on his neck.

This time around, he's chosen the path of a vigilante hacker of justice!

Chapter Text

Izuku sat at home, his bedroom door locked behind him as he remained in quiet thought. He hadn't even thought it possible before today, but he hated All Might. Most of his thoughts after this realisation turned from 'I hate All Might' to 'Quirk Analysis to punch All Might in the face' It was stupid for him to want to punch the #1 Hero in the face, but maybe it was possible when the blonde was off guard.

'You can't be a hero'
'It's impossible, your quirk isn't suited to heroics'
'Hey, Izuku! Charge our phones, that's all you're good for!'
'He looks like some kind of Glorified Toaster'
'Izuku, you damn Toaster! How do you like this?'

Silence as Izuku relived that moment. 'Izuku! You damn Toaster, take this!' He hadn't even had a chance to turn around as Bakugou stuck a USB drive into one of the ports on his neck, and could only watch in helpless agony as the USB installed a virus into his quirk. He had to spend an entire week out of school for his antivirus to delete the file completely. The memory hurt him. It hurt him so much that he wished he could find the strength to delete it, but it was an important memory: a reminder to watch his back, and a reminder to live in fear of Bakugou and more importantly, of viruses.

He was angry. He wanted nothing more than to screw Bakugou over, to screw all those bullies over for what they did to him, and he wanted to do it now. But what could he do? He was weak, he was worthless. He wasn't even hero material! His dreams were crushed!

But what if... He chose something he could do?

He had a tech quirk. He was Agile. He was plain and could easily hide in a crowd. Why not become a hacker? Better yet, a Vigilante Hacker, stealing files for the greater good of the world!

With a quick search through his closet and an eye on the time, Izuku changed out of his school uniform into a black hoodie and jeans with a black bag over his shoulders. To cover his face he brought out a wiring kit and connected to a 3D printer, printing a mask to cover his face while designing an LED board to go on the front. He attached a speaker just underneath the LEDs and connected it all to one of his USB ports on his neck. The LEDs covered his entire face and could display emotions, while the speaker let him change his voice digitally.

^-^ Appears on his mask as he fitted the mask onto his face.

After taking a look in the mirror and making sure he couldn't be recognised, he jumped up and down on the spot before opening his window and climbing out, grinning from behind the mask as he landed in an alleyway, ready to start looking into leads for him to do his thing.

Chapter 2: Inko Midoriya

Summary:

Izuku gets kicked out by Inko, and truly starts vigilante work

Chapter Text

Izuku climbed back into his window following his first day of practising for vigilanteism, grinning to himself from behind the robotic mask before taking it off and setting it on his table.

"Ahem, Izuku Midoriya." Izuku's face paled. That voice was his mother's, but unlike anything he had ever heard before. Inko Midoriya was furious. "Mind telling me WHAT you're doing out at night?"

"Going out for a run?" Izuku's attempt at a reply comes back uncertain and unconvincing. Inko slaps him immediately after.
"In VIGILANTE CLOTHES?!" She shouts. "I just got fired today and now you're going trying to get yourself arrested?" Wait. Fired? He doesn't even get a chance to ask before she continues. "And because you keep getting into fights, We have to move house, AGAIN! We've tried every single landlord in Musutafu, for fucks sake! You need to stop causing trouble for me!" She continues to yell as Izuku's body starts backing further into the corner. "Listen to me, Izuku. You're going to stop ALL this bullsh-"

She was interrupted by a punch to the gut fresh from Izuku's fist as he shouts back.
"Shut up! None of that is MY FAULT!"

This was clearly the wrong thing to do, as Inko's clear rage builds up even more. She doubles over in pain, taking a moment to recover while Izuku stares in shock at his own actions. Through grit teeth, she speaks sharply and cruelly, unlike ever before. "I've tried SO hard to look after you these past years without your father, and you DARE lay a finger me? That's it. You have until morning to get out of this house. Leave and never return. Anything still in this room after 7 AM is being sold or destroyed, and you will no longer be welcome in this house." Izuku tries to protest, but Inko refuses to hear any more. "Understand?" After getting a slow, hesitant nod, she leaves the room, slamming the door on the way out.

He stood still, his eyes trying to bring tears down his face but his quirk stopping them before they can be produced. He didn't have a choice anymore. Eyeing the clock on the wall, which read 11:35 PM, Izuku set to work.

He carried his 3D printer, his laptop, a box of wiring and other tech and a box of clothes out of his room and outside, taking the time to set up a sort of trolley to carry them effortlessly. When he finally left the house the clock read 6:49 AM, and he didn't even look back as he left. He had done some research while he was getting ready to leave. He couldn't just go homeless, it'd make the supplies he DID take worthless, so instead, he chose the most logical option.

Dagobah Beach. The beach so full of trash nobody would mind if another piece - himself - moved into it all and started running a vigilante operation from there. He dragged the cart of stuff to the beach and walked along it until he found the perfect place to set up a base of operations - and a home: An overturned car held up by various piles of trash on both sides and behind it, leaving a sheltered area just under it. Izuku set his cart down, before moving a desk under the sheltered area as well. He set the 3D printer and the laptop on the desk and pulled up a chair, leaving the box of wiring next to it. He then pulled another desk over to the shelter, this one having lost all its legs, and set a mattress on the top of it for his bed. His box of clothes was placed there, with the LED mask sitting on top of said box. He stared at his new home with a sad smile, before going back to his laptop and looking up various things.

First, he applied to an online school under the alias Akatani Mikumo.

Second, he started googling programming. Which lead to learning to hack.

Finally, he learned how to wire complex machines before shutting off his laptop and getting prepared. Izuku took the whole day learning new things, so when the clock hit 10:00 PM, it was time to begin his vigilante hacker work.

Once his vigilante outfit was on, Izuku left his new home and climbed out of the trash beach, accessing his internal computer and looking into rumours on various companies. He could hardly contain his grin, which showed as a :> on his mask as he found a very interesting thread from a well-known person on the forum. RatOverseer.

So, you all know triage, right? - RatOverseer

That 'Evolved Illuminati' BS, right? - Guest3280925

Yeah, that. Rumour has it that RevNOU - one of the companies under their rule - is developing the ultimate AI. - RatOverseer

Big deal, they're always developing some 'next gen' shit. - Guest3280925

That's not the entire rumour. This same rumour also brings to light that the AI's actually the CEO's wife, who was murdered recently. Apparently, they're scanning her brain and copying it into the system to make this AI. - RatOverseer.

Haha. Good one - Guest3280925

This is RatOverseer himself! He's never been wrong before. - PurpleInsomniac

Yeah, well 1000 yen says he got some bad info - Guest3280925

This WILL be interesting - RatOverseer

Izuku shut the tab and opened a new one, pulling up a GPS and getting directions to the HQ of this company. RevNOU was a huge player in the tech industry, developing revolutionary device after revolutionary device. If a rumour like this was true it could be huge! An AI would also help him, if it was as advanced as the rumour made it out to be.

When he arrived at the HQ, he started making note of the guards and started searching for a floor plan, looking for the server room. When he finally got an up-to-date one, he found the server rooms in the basement and started making note of his planned route into the building. He'd also made note of the guards' equipment. They all carried a stun gun that was severely unprotected, and a stealthy enough individual could easily use it to pacify any individual they snuck up to. He waited for the guard at the back entrance to turn around, then ran up to him, still masked up, grabbed his stun gun and shocked him until he passed out. He then stuck to the shadows as he made his way into the basement.

Once he got to the server room, he sat against the server that would, in theory, have the AI data stored in it, and connected his tail USB to it, searching the server as fast as he could for the file. The password they used was also pathetically weak, being the company name itself.

How have they not been hacked before? Izuku asked himself mentally as he found the supposed AI file, marked as 'Jinzouchinou'. Nice name. I'll call you Jin.

Izuku began the download, sitting still as nearly a Terabyte of data downloaded to his brain. These days it was a small dot on a piece of paper, but he couldn't imagine this file existing pre-quirks. It'd take up a whole hard drive on its own! Once the download was complete, Izuku deleted the copy on the server and left a note in its place.

Mainframe's taking this! Thanks!

Then, through the same way he broke in, Izuku exfiltrated the building, choosing to keep the stun gun from the guard he knocked out. It was only when he got halfway home did he dare launch the AI program.

Hello. I am Jinzouchinou. What's your name?

Chapter 3: Loading...

Summary:

Jin's first few moments conscious, and Eraserhead investigates a new vigilante case.

Chapter Text

Jinzouchinou's avatar appeared in a cloudy space in the computer(?) shortly after she booted up. She watched through the eyes of this green-haired person as they ran through the streets. GPS data told her that whoever her program was within was headed towards the beach, for some reason. Questions sparked up in her log one at a time.

Question: Is this a human?
Solution: Check device info
Answer: Human. Male. They possess a 'Quirk' called 'Supercomputer'

Question: What is a 'Quirk'?
Solution: Research
Answer: Quirks are a genetic mutation that 80% of the population has, which gives them unique powers.

She was happy with the answers she had found and quickly drew up the conclusion that 'Supercomputer' turned the person into a computer of sorts. After a while making sure she understood everything, she spoke up.

"Hello. I am Jinzouchinou. What's your name?"
"Y-You talk? O-Oh. Right. My name's Izuku. N-Nice to meet you Jin...zo... can I just call you Jin?" She tried to tilt her head and give him a smile - a task made impossible for the fact she now lacks a physical form. Izuku seemed like a nice person. They sounded young. A teenager at best.

Izuku had finally made it to his destination, the sight of which shocked her more than she would ever admit. Within the piles of trash was a small shelter. Izuku called out a soft "I'm home", to which nobody answered. Jin (she already liked the nickname) spoke up again after a long silence.
"Is this..?"
"My home? Yeah." He lives here? Within the trash?
"Isn't it unsanitary? You'll get sick. Where are your pare-"
"One left when I was born, the other kicked me out yesterday." Izuku had moved to a desk of sorts, where a laptop sat. She felt a connection immediately after and within seconds she could jump between the laptop on the desk and Izuku's mind. Her face popped up on said computer and a second dose of shock came over her when she connected to the webcam and got a good look at him. Not because of the state of the child, but more because they were a child.

Jin knew immediately after she saw the green-haired boy. Whether it was because of her code or because of memories buried far too deep for her to ever access again was unknown, but she had adopted him right then and there.

The crime scene was a mess.

Mind you, it wasn't the type of mess that cleaners could tackle with a bit of bleach and a sponge. No, it was the type of mess that led to powerful business owners demanding to see the crime scene, not caring for the fact that doing so would cause certain pieces of vital evidence to be tampered with or possibly destroyed.

Fortunately for the Underground Hero Eraserhead, this sort of headache would be quickly shifted from him to the poor guard who, upon appearing before said business owners, had enough yelling thrown his way for a lifetime.
Almost hard to believe this chaos so early in the morning was caused by some unknown kid...

Then again, it wasn't just the security guards who had made mistakes while on the job. Aizawa himself had pretty quickly made the mistake of thinking - hoping even - that whoever was calling his phone at such an ungodly hour was in fact bringing some helpful information for once. A mistake he'd soon regret as the chipper voice of a certain chimera made the caller known.

"Ah, Eraserhead? I hear you've joined another investigation. How's that going?"
"So you've heard. Not that I'm surprised. I'd take this call as a sign you know something, but you're not actually going to tell me what you know, are you?"
"Logical as always, aren't you?"
A short pause "I must say, that quirk of his is quite wonderful, I'd love to talk with such a vigilante over a nice cup of tea.."
"What? His quirk? I didn't see any obvious quirk."
"Well, that's disappointing, isn't it? That's such an important piece of information we're missing out on... It could solve the entire case for you!"

The call ended on that sweet note, leaving Shouta Aizawa yearning for a bed and a large cup of coffee. That damned rat already knew who this new mystery vigilante was, and he wasn't sharing any details. Or rather, the only details he gave ruled out the 20% quirkless. around 7% of which - the children - only ever applied for potential suspects, as it was only logical that this vigilante was a teenager or younger. That left him with a majority of young people as valid suspects. Half that again, actually, as Nedzu seemed pretty certain that the vigilante was male...

"I'm going to be so tired when I'm teaching..." Aizawa eventually muttered, as if that was any meaningful change from how he usually held himself.
